Isaiah 8

1 In Maher-shalal-hash-baz he prophesieth that Syria and Israel shall be subdued by Assyria. 5 Judah likewise for their infidelity. 9 God's judgments shall be unresistible. 11 Comfort shall be to them that fear God. 19 Great afflictions to idolaters.

 8:1 ¶ Moreouer the LORD 3068 said 559 z8799 vnto x413 mee, Take 3947 z8798 thee a great 1419 roule, 1549 and write 3789 z8798 in x5921 it with a mans 582 penne, 2747 concerning Maher-shalal-hash-baz. 4122

 8:2 And I tooke y5749 z0 vnto mee faithfull 539 z8737 witnesses 5707 to record, 5749 z8686 x853 Uriah 223 the Priest, 3548 and Zechariah 2148 the sonne 1121 of Ieberechiah. 3000

 8:3 And I went 7126 z8799 vnto x413 the Prophetesse, 5031 and shee conceiued 2029 z8799 and bare 3205 z8799 a sonne, 1121 then said 559 z8799 the LORD 3068 to x413 mee, Call 7121 z8798 his name 8034 Maher-shalal-hash-baz. 4122

 8:4 For x3588 before x2962 the childe 5288 shall haue knowledge 3045 z8799 to cry, 7121 z8800 My father 1 and my mother, 517 x853 the riches 2428 of Damascus, 1834 and the spoile 7998 of Samaria 8111 shalbe taken away 5375 z8799 before 6440 the king 4428 of Assyria. 804

 8:5 ¶ The LORD 3068 spake 1696 z8763 also vnto x413 me againe, 3254 z8686 saying, 559 z8800

 8:6 For so much 3282 x3588 as this x2088 people 5971 refuseth 3988 z8804 x853 the waters 4325 of Shiloah 7975 that goe 1980 z8802 softly, 328 and reioyce y4885 in x4885 x853 Rezin, 7526 and Remaliahs 7425 sonne: 1121

 8:7 Now therefore x3651 behold, x2009 the Lord 136 bringeth vp 5927 z8688 vpon x5921 them x853 the waters 4325 of the riuer 5104 strong 6099 and many, 7227 [euen] x853 the king 4428 of Assyria, 804 and all x3605 his glory: 3519 and he shall come vp 5927 z8804 ouer x5921 all x3605 his channels, 650 and goe x1980 ouer y1980 z8804 x5921 all x3605 his bankes. 1415

 8:11 ¶ For x3588 the LORD 3068 spake 559 z8804 thus x3541 to x413 me with a strong 2393 hand, 3027 and instructed 3256 z8765 me that I should not walke y3212 z8800 x4480 x1980 in the way 1870 of this x2088 people, 5971 saying, 559 z8800

 8:12 Say 559 z8799 ye not, x3808 A confederacie 7195 to all x3605 them, to whom x834 this x2088 people 5971 shall say, 559 z8799 A confederacie; 7195 neither x3808 feare 3372 z8799 yee their feare, 4172 nor x3808 be afraid. 6206 z8686

 8:13 Sanctifie 6942 z8686 x853 the LORD 3068 of hostes 6635 himselfe, and [let] him x1931 [bee] your feare, 4172 and [let] him x1931 [be] your dread. 6206 z8688

 8:14 And he shalbe x1961 for a sanctuary; 4720 but for a stone 68 of stumbling 5063 and for a rocke 6697 of offence 4383 to both 8147 the houses 1004 of Israel, 3478 for a ginne, 6341 and for a snare 4170 to the inhabitants 3427 z8802 of Ierusalem. 3389

 8:15 And many 7227 among them shall stumble 3782 z8804 and fall, 5307 z8804 and be broken, 7665 z8738 and be snared, 3369 z8738 and be taken. 3920 z8738

 8:16 Binde vp 6887 z8798 the Testimonie, 8584 seale 2856 z8798 the Law 8451 among my disciples. 3928

 8:17 And I wil wait 2442 z8765 vpon the LORD 3068 that hideth 5641 z8688 his face 6440 from the house 1004 x4480 of Iacob, 3290 and I will looke 6960 z8765 for him.

 8:18 Behold, x2009 I, x595 and the children 3206 whom x834 the LORD 3068 hath giuen 5414 z8804 me, [are] for signes, 226 and for wonders 4159 in Israel: 3478 from x4480 x5973 the LORD 3068 of hostes, 6635 which dwelleth 7931 z8802 in mount 2022 Zion. 6726

 8:19 ¶ And when x3588 they shall say 559 z8799 vnto x413 you; Seeke 1875 z8798 vnto x413 them that haue familiar spirits, 178 and vnto x413 wizards 3049 that peepe 6850 z8772 and that mutter: 1897 z8688 should not x3808 a people 5971 seeke 1875 z8799 vnto x413 their God? 430 for x1157 the liuing, 2416 to x413 the dead? 4191 z8801

 8:20 To the Law 8451 and to the Testimonie: 8584 if x518 they speake 559 z8799 not x3808 according to this x2088 word, 1697 [it is] because x834 there is no x369 light 7837 in them.

 8:21 And they shall passe 5674 z8804 through it, hardly bestead 7185 z8737 and hungry: y7457 x745 and it shall come to passe, x1961 that when x3588 they shall be hungry, 7456 z8799 they shall fret y7107 z8694 themselues, x7107 and curse 7043 z8765 their King, 4428 and their God, 430 and looke 6437 z8804 vpward. 4605

 8:22 And they shall looke 5027 z8686 vnto x413 the earth: 776 and behold x2009 trouble 6869 and darkenesse, 2825 dimnesse 4588 of anguish; 6695 and they shall be driuen 5080 z8794 to darkenesse. 653
