Isaiah 49

1 Christ, being sent to the Jews, complaineth of them. 5 He is sent to the Gentiles with gracious promises. 13 God's love is perpetual to his Church. 18 The ample restoration of the Church. 24 The powerful deliverance out of captivity.

 49:1 ¶ Listen, 8085 z8798 O yles, 339 vnto x413 me, and hearken 7181 z8685 yee people 3816 from farre. 7350 x4480 The LORD 3068 hath called 7121 z8804 mee from the wombe, 990 x4480 from the bowels 4578 x4480 of my mother 517 hath he made mention 2142 z8689 of my name. 8034

 49:2 And he hath made 7760 z8799 my mouth 6310 like a sharpe 2299 sword, 2719 in the shadow 6738 of his hand 3027 hath he hid 2244 z8689 me, and made 7760 z8799 mee a polished 1305 z8803 shaft; 2671 in his quiuer 827 hath hee hid 5641 z8689 me,

 49:3 And sayd 559 z8799 vnto me; Thou x859 [art] my seruant, 5650 O Israel, 3478 in whom x834 I will be glorified. 6286 z8691

 49:4 Then I x589 said; 559 z8804 I haue laboured 3021 z8804 in vaine, 7385 I haue spent 3615 z8765 my strength 3581 for nought, 8414 and in vaine, 1892 [yet] surely 403 my iudgement 4941 [is] with x854 the LORD, 3068 and my worke 6468 with x854 my God. 430

 49:5 ¶ And now, x6258 saith 559 z8804 the LORD 3068 that formed 3335 z8802 me from the wombe 990 x4480 to be his seruant, 5650 to bring y7725 z0 Iacob y3290 againe 7725 z8788 x3290 to x413 him; Though Israel 3478 be not gathered, 622 z8735 yet shall I be glorious 3513 z8735 in the eyes 5869 of the LORD, 3068 and my God 430 shall bee x1961 my strength. 5797

 49:6 And he said, 559 z8799 It is a light thing 7043 z8738 that thou shouldest be x4480 x1961 my seruant 5650 to raise vp 6965 z8687 x853 the tribes 7626 of Iacob, 3290 and to restore 7725 z8687 the preserued 5341 z8803 z8675 y5336 of Israel: 3478 I will also giue 5414 z8804 thee for a light 216 to the Gentiles, 1471 that thou mayest be x1961 my saluation, 3444 vnto x5704 the end 7097 of the earth. 776

 49:7 Thus x3541 saith 559 z8804 the LORD 3068 the redeemer 1350 z8802 of Israel, 3478 [and] his holy one, 6918 to him whom man 5315 dispiseth, 960 to him whom the nation 1471 abhorreth, 8581 z8764 to a seruant 5650 of rulers; 4910 z8802 Kings 4428 shall see 7200 z8799 and arise, 6965 z8804 princes 8269 also shall worship, 7812 z8691 because of x4616 the LORD, 3068 that x834 is faithfull, 539 z8737 [and] the holy one 6918 of Israel, 3478 and he shall choose 977 z8799 thee.

 49:8 Thus x3541 saith 559 z8804 the LORD, 3068 In an acceptable 7522 time 6256 haue I heard 6030 z8804 thee, and in a day 3117 of saluation 3444 haue I helped 5826 z8804 thee: and I will preserue 5341 z8799 thee, and giue 5414 z8799 thee for a couenant 1285 of the people, 5971 to establish 6965 z8687 the earth, 776 to cause to inherite 5157 z8687 the desolate 8074 z8802 heritages: 5159

 49:9 That thou mayest say 559 z8800 to the prisoners, 631 z8803 Goe forth; 3318 z8798 to them that x834 [are] in darkenesse, 2822 Shewe y1540 z8734 your selues: x1540 they shall feede 7462 z8799 in x5921 the wayes, 1870 and their pastures 4830 [shalbe] in all x3605 high places. 8205

 49:10 They shall not x3808 hunger 7456 z8799 nor x3808 thirst, 6770 z8799 neither x3808 shall the heate 8273 nor sunne 8121 smite 5221 z8686 them: for x3588 he that hath mercy 7355 z8764 on them shall lead 5090 z8762 them, euen by x5921 the springs 4002 of water 4325 shall he guide 5095 z8762 them.

 49:11 And I will make 7760 z8804 all x3605 my mountaines 2022 a way, 1870 and my high wayes 4546 shall be exalted. 7311 z8799

 49:12 Behold, x2009 these x428 shall come 935 z8799 from far: 7350 x4480 and loe, x2009 these x428 from the North 6828 x4480 and from the West, 3220 x4480 and these x428 from the land 776 x4480 of Sinim. 5515

 49:13 ¶ Sing, 7442 z8798 O heauen, 8064 and be ioyfull, 1523 z8798 O earth, 776 and breake forth 6476 z8798 into singing, 7440 O mountaines: 2022 for x3588 GOD 3068 hath comforted 5162 z8765 his people, 5971 and will haue mercy 7355 z8762 vpon his afflicted. 6041

 49:14 But Zion 6726 said, 559 z8799 The LORD 3068 hath forsaken 5800 z8804 me, and my Lord 136 hath forgotten 7911 z8804 me.

 49:15 Can a woman 802 forget 7911 z8799 her sucking child, 5764 that she should not haue compassion 7355 z8763 x4480 on the sonne 1121 of her wombe? 990 yea x1571 they x428 may forget, 7911 z8799 yet will I x595 not x3808 forget 7911 z8799 thee.

 49:16 Behold, x2005 I haue grauen 2710 z8804 thee vpon x5921 the palmes of [my] hands: 3709 thy walles 2346 [are] continually 8548 before x5048 mee.

 49:17 Thy children 1121 shal make haste, 4116 z8765 thy destroyers, 2040 z8764 and they that made thee waste, 2717 z8688 shall goe forth 3318 z8799 of x4480 thee.

 49:18 ¶ Lift vp 5375 z8798 thine eyes 5869 round about, 5439 and behold: 7200 z8798 all x3605 these gather themselues together 6908 z8738 [and] come 935 z8804 to thee: as I x589 liue, 2416 saith 5002 z8803 the LORD, 3068 thou shalt surely x3588 clothe 3847 z8799 thee with them all, x3605 as with an ornament, 5716 and bind 7194 z8762 them [on thee] as a bride 3618 doeth.

 49:19 For x3588 thy waste 2723 and thy desolate places, 8074 z8802 and the land 776 of thy destruction 2035 shall euen x3588 now x6258 be too narrow 3334 z8799 by reason of the inhabitants, 3427 z8802 x4480 and they that swallowed thee vp, 1104 z8764 shall bee farre away. 7368 z8804

 49:20 The children 1121 which thou shalt haue, after thou hast lost y7923 the other, x7923 shall say 559 z8799 againe x5750 in thine eares, 241 The place 4725 [is] too straight 6862 for me: giue y5066 z8798 place y4725 x5066 to mee that I may dwell. 3427 z8799

 49:21 Then shalt thou say 559 z8804 in thine heart, 3824 Who x4310 hath begotten 3205 z8804 me x853 these, x428 seeing I x589 haue lost my children y7921 z8803 x7909 and am desolate, 1565 a captiue 1540 z8802 and remouing to and fro? 5493 z8803 and who x4310 hath brought vp 1431 z8765 these? x428 Beholde, x2005 I x589 was left 7604 z8738 alone, x905 these x428 where 375 [had] they x1992 [beene]?

 49:22 Thus x3541 saith 559 z8804 the Lord 136 GOD, 3069 Behold, x2009 I will lift vp 5375 z8799 mine hand 3027 to x413 the Gentiles, 1471 and set vp 7311 z8686 my standerd 5251 to x413 the people: 5971 and they shall bring 935 z8689 thy sonnes 1121 in [their] armes: 2684 and thy daughters 1323 shal be caried 5375 z8735 vpon x5921 [their] shoulders. 3802

 49:23 And kings 4428 shall be x1961 thy nursing fathers, 539 z8802 and their queenes 8282 thy nursing mothers: 3243 z8688 they shall bow downe 7812 z8691 to thee with their face 639 toward the earth, 776 and licke vp 3897 z8762 the dust 6083 of thy feete, 7272 and thou shalt know 3045 z8804 that x3588 I x589 [am] the LORD: 3068 for they x834 shall not x3808 be ashamed 954 z8799 that waite 6960 z8802 for me.

 49:24 ¶ Shall the pray 4455 be taken 3947 z8714 from the mightie, 1368 x4480 or x518 the lawfull 6662 captiue 7628 deliuered? 4422 z8735

 49:25 But x3588 thus x3541 saith 559 z8804 the LORD, 3068 Euen x1571 the captiues 7628 of the mightie 1368 shall be taken away, 3947 z8714 and the pray 4455 of the terrible 6184 shall be deliuered: 4422 z8735 for I x595 will contend y7378 z8799 with x7378 [him] that contendeth y3401 with x3401 thee, and I x595 will saue 3467 z8686 thy children. 1121

 49:26 And I will feede 398 z8689 x853 them that oppresse 3238 z8688 thee, with x853 their owne flesh, 1320 and they shall be drunken 7937 z8799 with their owne blood, 1818 as with sweet wine: 6071 and all x3605 flesh 1320 shall know 3045 z8804 that x3588 I x589 the LORD 3068 [am] thy Sauiour 3467 z8688 and thy Redeemer, 1350 z8802 the mightie One 46 of Iacob. 3290
