Isaiah 58

1 The prophet, being sent to reprove hypocrisy, 3 expresseth a conterfeit fast and a true. 8 He declareth what promises are due unto godliness, 13 and to the keeping of the Sabbath.

 58:1 ¶ Crie 7121 z8798 aloude, 1627 spare 2820 z8799 not, x408 lift y7311 z8685 vp x7311 thy voice 6963 like a trumpet, 7782 and shewe 5046 z8685 my people 5971 their transgression, 6588 & the house 1004 of Iacob 3290 their sins. 2403

 58:2 Yet they seeke 1875 z8799 mee daily, 3117 and delight 2654 z8799 to know 1847 my wayes, 1870 as a nation 1471 that x834 did 6213 z8804 righteousnesse, 6666 and forsooke 5800 z8804 not x3808 the ordinance 4941 of their God: 430 they aske 7592 z8799 of me the ordinances 4941 of iustice: 6664 they take delight 2654 z8799 in approching 7132 to God. 430

 58:3 ¶ Wherefore x4100 haue wee fasted, 6684 z8804 [say they], and thou seest 7200 z8804 not? x3808 [wherefore] haue wee afflicted 6031 z8765 our soule, 5315 & thou takest no knowledge? 3045 z8799 x3808 Behold, x2005 in the day 3117 of your fast 6685 you find 4672 z8799 pleasure, 2656 and exact 5065 z8799 all x3605 your labours. 6092

 58:4 Behold, x2005 yee fast 6684 z8799 for strife 7379 and debate; 4683 and to smite 5221 z8687 with the fist 106 of wickednesse, 7562 yee shall not x3808 fast 6684 z8799 as [yee doe] this day, 3117 to make your voice 6963 to be heard 8085 z8687 on high. 4791

 58:5 Is x1961 it such x2088 a fast 6685 [that] I haue chosen? 977 z8799 a day 3117 for a man 120 to afflict 6031 z8763 his soule? 5315 [Is it] to bow down 3721 z8800 his head 7218 as a bulrush, 100 and to spread 3331 z8686 sackecloth 8242 and ashes 665 vnder him? wilt thou call 7121 z8799 this 2088 a fast, 6685 and an acceptable 7522 day 3117 to the LORD? 3068

 58:8 ¶ Then x227 shall thy light 216 breake foorth 1234 z8735 as the morning, 7837 and thine health 724 shall spring foorth 6779 z8799 speedily: 4120 and thy righteousnesse 6664 shall goe 1980 z8804 before 6440 thee, the glory 3519 of the LORD 3068 shall be thy rereward. 622 z8799

 58:10 And [if] thou draw out 6329 z8686 thy soule 5315 to the hungry, 7457 and satisfie 7646 z8686 the afflicted 6031 z8737 soule: 5315 then shall thy light 216 rise 2224 z8804 in obscuritie, 2822 and thy darkenesse 653 be as the noone day. 6672

 58:11 And the LORD 3068 shal guide 5148 z8804 thee continually, 8548 and satisfie 7646 z8689 thy soule 5315 in drought, 6710 and make fat 2502 z8686 thy bones: 6106 and thou shalt be x1961 like a watered 7302 garden, 1588 and like a spring 4161 of water, 4325 whose x834 waters 4325 faile 3576 z8762 not. x3808

 58:12 And [they that shall be] of x4480 thee, shall builde 1129 z8804 the olde 5769 waste places: 2723 thou shalt raise vp 6965 z8787 the foundations 4146 of many y1755 generations; 1755 and thou shalt be called, 7121 z8795 the repairer 1443 z8802 of the breach, 6556 the restorer 7725 z8789 of paths 5410 to dwell x3427 in. y3427 z8800

 58:13 ¶ If x518 thou turne away 7725 z8686 thy foote 7272 from the Sabbath, 7676 x4480 [from] doing 6213 z8800 thy pleasure 2656 on my Holy 6944 day, 3117 and call 7121 z8804 the Sabbath 7676 a delight, 6027 the holy 6918 of the LORD, 3068 honourable, 3513 z8794 and shalt honour 3513 z8765 him, not doing 6213 z8800 x4480 thine owne wayes, 1870 nor finding 4672 z8800 x4480 thine owne pleasure, 2656 nor speaking 1696 z8763 [thine owne] wordes: 1697
