Isaiah 17

1 Syria and Israel are threatened. 6 A remnant shall forsake idolatry. 9 The rest shall be plagued for their impiety. 12 The woe of Israel's enemies.

 17:1 ¶ The burden 4853 of Damascus: 1834 Behold, x2009 Damascus 1834 is taken away 5493 z8716 from [being] a citie, 5892 x4480 and it shalbe x1961 a ruinous 4654 heape. 4596

 17:2 The cities 5892 of Aroer 6177 are forsaken: 5800 z8803 they shall bee x1961 for flockes, 5739 which shall lye downe, 7257 z8804 and none x369 shall make [them] afraid. 2729 z8688

 17:3 The fortresse 4013 also shall cease 7673 z8738 from Ephraim, 669 x4480 and the kingdome 4467 from Damascus, 1834 x4480 and the remnant 7605 of Syria: 758 they shall bee x1961 as the glorie 3519 of the children 1121 of Israel, 3478 saith 5002 z8803 the LORD 3068 of hostes. 6635

 17:4 And in that x1931 day 3117 it shall come to passe, x1961 [that] the glory 3519 of Iacob 3290 shall bee made thinne, 1809 z8735 and the fatnesse 4924 of his flesh 1320 shall waxe leane. 7329 z8735

 17:6 ¶ (Yet gleaning-grapes 5955 shall be left 7604 z8738 in it, as the shaking 5363 of an Oliue tree, 2132 two 8147 or three 7969 berries 1620 in the toppe 7218 of the vppermost bough: 534 foure 702 or fiue 2568 in the out-most fruitfull 6509 z8802 branches 5585 thereof, saith 5002 z8803 the LORD 3068 God 430 of Israel. 3478

 17:7 At that x1931 day 3117 shall a man 120 looke 8159 z8799 to x5921 his Maker, 6213 z8802 and his eyes 5869 shall haue respect 7200 z8799 to x413 the Holy y6918 one x6918 of Israel. 3478

 17:9 ¶ In that x1931 day 3117 shall his strong 4581 cities 5892 be x1961 as a forsaken 5800 z8803 bough, 2793 and an vppermost branch, 534 which x834 they left, 5800 z8804 because 6440 x4480 of the children 1121 of Israel: 3478 and there shalbe x1961 desolation. 8077

 17:11 In the day 3117 shalt thou make thy plant 5194 to grow, 7735 z8770 and in the morning 1242 shalt thou make thy seede 2233 to flourish: 6524 z8686 [but] the haruest 7105 [shall be] a heape 5067 in the day 3117 of griefe, 2470 z8737 and of desperate 605 z8803 sorrow. 3511

 17:12 ¶ Woe 1945 to the multitude 1995 of many 7227 people, 5971 [which] make a noise, 1993 z8799 like the noise 1993 z8800 of the seas; 3220 and to the rushing 7588 of nations, 3816 [that] make a rushing, x7582 like the rushing y7582 z8735 x7588 of mighty 3524 waters. 4325

 17:13 The nations 3816 shall rush 7582 z8735 like the rushing 7588 of many 7227 waters: 4325 but [God] shall rebuke 1605 z8804 them, and they shall flee 5127 z8804 farre off, 4801 x4480 and shalbe chased 7291 z8795 as the chaffe 4671 of the mountaines 2022 before 6440 the wind, 7307 and like a rolling thing 1534 before 6440 the whirlewind. 5492
