Isaiah 22

1 The prophet lamenteth the invasion of Jewry by the Persians. 8 He reproveth their human wisdom and worldly joy. 15 He prophesieth Shebna's deprivation, 20 and Eliakim prefiguring the Kingdom of Christ, his substitution.

 22:1 ¶ The burden 4853 of the valley 1516 of vision. 2384 What x4100 ayleth thee now, 645 that x3588 thou art wholly x3605 gone vp 5927 z8804 to the house toppes? 1406

 22:2 Thou that art full 4392 of stirres, 8663 a tumultuous 1993 z8802 citie, 5892 a ioyous 5947 citie: 7151 thy slaine 2491 men are not x3808 slaine 2491 with the sword, 2719 nor x3808 dead 4191 z8801 in battell. 4421

 22:3 All x3605 thy rulers 7101 are fled 5074 z8804 together, 3162 they are bound 631 z8795 by the archers: 7198 x4480 all x3605 that are found 4672 z8737 in thee are bound 631 z8795 together, 3162 [which] haue fled 1272 z8804 from farre. 7350 x4480

 22:4 Therefore x5921 x3651 sayd 559 z8804 I; Looke away 8159 z8798 from x4480 me, I will weepe 1065 bitterly, 4843 z8762 labour 213 z8686 not x408 to comfort 5162 z8763 me; because x5921 of the spoiling 7701 of the daughter 1323 of my people. 5971

 22:5 For x3588 it [is] a day 3117 of trouble, 4103 and of treading downe, 4001 and of perplexitie 3998 by the Lord 136 GOD 3069 of hostes 6635 in the valley 1516 of vision, 2384 breaking y6979 z8772 downe x6979 the walles, 7023 and of crying 7771 to x413 the mountaines. 2022

 22:6 And Elam 5867 bare 5375 z8804 the quiuer 827 with charets 7393 of men 120 [and] horsemen, 6571 and Kir 7024 vncouered 6168 z8765 the shield. 4043

 22:7 And it shall come to passe x1961 that thy choicest y4005 x4055 valleys 6010 shall be full 4390 z8804 of charets, 7393 and the horsemen 6571 shall set y7896 z8804 themselues in aray 7896 z8800 at the gate. 8179

 22:8 ¶ And he discouered 1540 z8762 x853 the couering 4539 of Iudah, 3063 and thou diddest looke 5027 z8686 in that x1931 day 3117 to x413 the armour 5402 of the house 1004 of the forrest. 3293

 22:9 Ye haue seene 7200 z8804 also the breaches 1233 of the citie 5892 of Dauid, 1732 that x3588 they are many: 7231 z8804 and ye gathered together 6908 z8762 x853 the waters 4325 of the lower 8481 poole. 1295

 22:10 And ye haue numbred 5608 z8804 the houses 1004 of Ierusalem, 3389 and the houses 1004 haue yee broken downe 5422 z8799 to fortifie 1219 z8763 the wall. 2346

 22:13 And behold x2009 ioy 8342 and gladnesse, 8057 slaying 2026 z8800 oxen 1241 and killing 7819 z8800 sheep, 6629 eating 398 z8800 flesh, 1320 and drinking 8354 z8800 wine; 3196 let vs eate 398 z8800 and drinke, 8354 z8800 for x3588 to morrow 4279 we shall die. 4191 z8799

 22:14 And it was reuealed 1540 z8738 in mine eares 241 by the LORD 3068 of hostes; 6635 surely x518 this x2088 iniquitie 5771 shall not be purged 3722 z8792 from you, till x5704 yee die, 4191 z8799 sayth 559 z8804 the Lord 136 GOD 3069 of hostes. 6635

 22:15 ¶ Thus x3541 sayth 559 z8804 the Lord 136 GOD 3069 of hostes, 6635 Goe, y3212 z8798 x1980 get 935 z8798 thee vnto x413 this x2088 treasurer, 5532 z8802 euen vnto x5921 Shebna, 7644 which x834 [is] ouer x5921 the house, 1004 [and say];

 22:16 What x4100 hast thou here? x6311 And whom x4310 hast thou here, x6311 that x3588 thou hast hewed thee out 2672 z8804 a sepulchre 6913 here, 6311 [as] hee that heweth him out 2672 z8802 a sepulchre 6913 on high, 4791 [and] that graueth 2710 z8802 an habitation 4908 for himselfe in a rocke? 5553

 22:17 Behold; x2009 the LORD 3068 will cary thee away 2904 z8772 with a mightie 1397 captiuitie, 2925 and will surely y5844 z8800 couer 5844 z8802 thee.

 22:18 He will surely y6801 z8800 violently turne 6801 z8799 and tosse 6802 thee, [like] a ball 1754 into x413 a large 7342 3027 countrey: 776 there x8033 shalt thou die, 4191 z8799 and there x8033 the charets 4818 of thy glory 3519 [shall be] the shame 7036 of thy Lords 113 house. 1004

 22:19 And I will driue 1920 z8804 thee from thy station, 4673 x4480 and from thy state 4612 x4480 shall he pull thee downe. 2040 z8799

 22:20 ¶ And it shall come to passe x1961 in that x1931 day, 3117 that I will call 7121 z8804 my seruant 5650 Eliakim 471 the sonne 1121 of Hilkiah: 2518

 22:21 And I will clothe 3847 z8689 him with thy robe, 3801 and strengthen 2388 z8762 him with thy girdle, 73 and I wil commit 5414 z8799 thy gouernment 4475 into his hand, 3027 and he shalbe x1961 a father 1 to the inhabitants 3427 z8802 of Ierusalem, 3389 and to the house 1004 of Iudah. 3063

 22:22 And the key 4668 of the house 1004 of Dauid 1732 will I lay 5414 z8804 vpon x5921 his shoulder: 7926 so he shall open 6605 z8804 and none x369 shall shut, 5462 z8802 and he shall shut 5462 z8804 and none x369 shall open. 6605 z8802

 22:23 And I will fasten 8628 z8804 him [as] a naile 3489 in asure 539 z8737 place, 4725 and he shalbe x1961 for a glorious 3519 throne 3678 to his fathers 1 house. 1004

 22:24 And they shall hang 8518 z8804 vpon x5921 him all x3605 the glory 3519 of his fathers 1 house, 1004 the offspring 6631 and the issue, 6849 all x3605 vessels 3627 of small y6996 quantitie: x6996 from the vessels 3627 x4480 of cups, 101 euen to x5704 all x3605 the vessels 3627 of flagons. 5035

 22:25 In that x1931 day, 3117 sayth 5002 z8803 the LORD 3068 of hostes, 6635 shall the naile 3489 that is fastened 8628 z8803 in the sure 539 z8737 place, 4725 be remooued, 4185 z8799 and be cut downe 1438 z8738 and fall: 5307 z8804 and the burden 4853 that x834 [was] vpon x5921 it shall bee cut off: 3772 z8738 for x3588 the LORD 3068 hath spoken 1696 z8765 [it].
