Isaiah 28

1 The prophet threateneth Ephraim for thier pride and drunkenness. 5 The residue shall be advanced in the Kingdom of Christ. 7 He rebuketh their error. 9 Their untowardness to learn, 14 and their security. 16 Christ the sure foundation is promised. 18 Their security shall be tried. 23 They are incited to the consideration of God's discreet providence.

 28:1 ¶ Woe 1945 to the crowne 5850 of pride, 1348 to the drunkards 7910 of Ephraim, 669 whose glorious 6643 beauty 8597 [is] a fading 5034 z8802 flowre, 6731 which x834 are on x5921 the head 7218 of the fat 8081 valleys 1516 of them that are ouercome 1986 z8803 with wine. 3196

 28:2 Behold, x2009 the Lord 136 [hath] a mightie 2389 and strong one, 533 [which] as a tempest 2230 of haile 1259 [and] a destroying 6986 storme, 8178 as a flood 2230 of mightie 3524 waters 4325 ouerflowing, 7857 z8802 shall cast downe y3240 z8689 x5117 to the earth 776 with the hand. 3027

 28:3 The crowne 5850 of pride, 1348 the drunkards 7910 of Ephraim 669 shall be troden 7429 z8735 vnder feete. 7272

 28:4 And the glorious 6643 beautie 8597 which x834 [is] on x5921 the head 7218 of the fat 8081 valley, 1516 shall bee x1961 a fading 5034 z8802 flowre, 6733 [and] as the hastie fruite 1061 before x2962 the summer: 7019 which x834 [when] he that looketh 7200 z8802 vpon it, seeth 7200 z8799 it, while it is yet x5750 in his hand, 3709 he eateth it vp. 1104 z8799

 28:5 ¶ In that x1931 day 3117 shall the LORD 3068 of hosts 6635 be x1961 for a crowne 5850 of glory, 6643 and for a diademe 6843 of beautie 8597 vnto the residue 7605 of his people: 5971

 28:6 And for a spirit 7307 of iudgement 4941 to him that sitteth 3427 z8802 in x5921 iudgement, 4941 and for strength 1369 to them that turne 7725 z8688 the battell 4421 to the gate. 8179

 28:9 ¶ x853 Whome x4310 shall he teach 3384 z8686 knowledge? 1844 and whom x4310 shall he make to vnderstand 995 z8799 doctrine? 8052 them that are weaned 1580 z8803 from the milke, 2461 x4480 [and] drawen 6267 from the breasts. 7699 x4480

 28:16 ¶ Therefore x3651 thus x3541 saith 559 z8804 the Lord 136 GOD, 3069 Beholde, x2009 I lay 3245 z8765 in Zion 6726 for a foundation, x3245 a stone, 68 a tryed 976 stone, 68 a precious 3368 corner 6438 stone, a sure 3245 z8716 foundation: 4143 hee that beleeueth, 539 z8688 shall not x3808 make haste. 2363 z8686

 28:17 Iudgement 4941 also will I lay 7760 z8804 to the line, 6957 and righteousnesse 6666 to the plummet: 4949 and the haile 1259 shall sweepe away 3261 z8804 the refuge 4268 of lyes, 3577 and the waters 4325 shall ouerflow 7857 z8799 the hiding place. 5643

 28:18 ¶ And your couenant 1285 with x854 death 4194 shalbe disanulled, 3722 z8795 and your agreement 2380 with x854 hell 7585 shall not x3808 stand; 6965 z8799 when x3588 the ouerflowing 7857 z8802 scourge 7752 shall passe thorough, 5674 z8799 then yee shalbe x1961 troden downe 4823 by it.

 28:19 From the time 1767 x4480 that it goeth forth, 5674 z8800 it shall take 3947 z8799 you: for x3588 morning 1242 by morning 1242 shall it passe ouer, 5674 z8799 by day 3117 and by night, 3915 and it shalbe x1961 a vexation, 2113 onely x7535 [to] vnderstand 995 z8687 the report. 8052

 28:21 For x3588 the LORD 3068 shall rise vp 6965 z8799 as [in] mount 2022 Perazim, y6559 x6556 he shalbe wroth 7264 z8799 as [in] the valley 6010 of Gibeon, 1391 that he may doe 6213 z8800 his worke, 4639 his strange 2114 z8801 worke; 4639 and bring to passe 5647 z8800 his act, 5656 his strange 5237 act. 5656

 28:26 For his God 430 doth instruct 3256 z8765 him to discretion, 4941 [and] doth teach 3384 z8686 him.

 28:27 For x3588 the fitches 7100 are not x3808 threshed 1758 z8714 with a threshing instrument, 2742 neither is a cart 5699 wheele 212 turned x5437 about y5437 z8714 vpon x5921 the cummin: 3646 but x3588 the fitches 7100 are beaten out 2251 z8735 with a staffe, 4294 and the cummin 3646 with a rodde. 7626

 28:28 Bread 3899 [corne] is bruised; 1854 z8714 because x3588 he will not x3808 euer 5331 be threshing 1758 y156 z8800 z8799 it, nor breake 2000 z8804 it with the wheele 1536 of his cart, 5699 nor x3808 bruise 1854 z8799 it with his horsemen. 6571

 28:29 This x2063 also x1571 commeth forth 3318 z8804 from x4480 x5973 the LORD 3068 of hostes, 6635 [which] is wonderfull 6381 z8689 in counsell, 6098 [and] excellent 1431 z8689 in working. 8454
