Isaiah 29

1 God's heavy judgment upon Jerusalem. 7 The unsatiableness of her enemies. 9 The senselessness, 13 and deep hypocrisy of the Jews. 18 A promise of sanctification to the godly.

 29:1 ¶ Woe 1945 to Ariel, 740 to Ariel 740 the citie 7151 [where] Dauid 1732 dwelt: 2583 z8804 adde 5595 z8798 yee yeere 8141 to x5921 yeere; 8141 let them kill 5362 z8799 sacrifices. 2282

 29:2 Yet I will distresse 6693 z8689 Ariel, 740 and there shalbe x1961 heauinesse 8386 and sorrow; 592 and it shall be x1961 vnto mee as Ariel. 740

 29:3 And I will campe 2583 z8804 against x5921 thee round about, 1754 and will lay siege 6696 z8804 against x5921 thee with a mount, 4674 and I will raise 6965 z8689 forts 4694 against x5921 thee.

 29:4 And thou shalt bee brought downe, 8213 z8804 [and] shalt speake 1696 z8762 out of the ground, 776 x4480 and thy speach 565 shall be low 7817 z8735 out of the dust, 6083 x4480 and thy voyce 6963 shalbe x1961 as of one that hath a familiar spirit, 178 out of the ground, 776 x4480 and thy speach 565 shall whisper 6850 z8770 out of the dust. 6083 x4480

 29:5 Moreouer the multitude 1995 of thy strangers 2114 z8801 shalbe x1961 like small 1851 dust, 80 and the multitude 1995 of the terrible ones 6184 shalbe as chaffe, 4671 that passeth away; 5674 z8802 yea it shalbe x1961 at an instant 6621 suddenly. 6597

 29:6 Thou shalt bee visited 6485 z8735 of x4480 x5973 the LORD 3068 of hostes 6635 with thunder, 7482 and with earthquake, 7494 and great 1419 noise, 6963 with storme 5492 and tempest, 5591 and the flame 3851 of deuouring 398 z8802 fire. 784

 29:7 ¶ And the multitude 1995 of all x3605 the nations 1471 that fight 6633 z8802 against x5921 Ariel, 740 euen all x3605 that fight y6638 z8802 x6633 against her and her munition, 4685 and that distresse 6693 z8688 her, shalbe x1961 as a dreame 2472 of a night 3915 vision. 2377

 29:8 It shall euen be x1961 as when x834 a hungry 7457 man dreameth, 2492 z8799 and behold x2009 he eateth; 398 z8802 but he awaketh, 6974 z8689 and his soule 5315 is emptie: 7386 or as when 834 a thirstie man 6771 dreameth, 2492 z8799 and behold x2009 he drinketh; 8354 z8802 but hee awaketh, 6974 z8689 and behold x2009 he [is] faint, 5889 and his soule 5315 hath appetite: 8264 z8802 so x3651 shall the multitude 1995 of all x3605 the nations 1471 bee, x1961 that fight 6633 z8802 against x5921 mount 2022 Zion. 6726

 29:9 ¶ Stay y4102 z8697 your selues x4102 and wonder, 8539 z8798 cry yee out, 8173 z8697 and cry: 8173 z8798 they are drunken, 7937 z8804 but not x3808 with wine, 3196 they stagger, 5128 z8804 but not x3808 with strong drinke. 7941

 29:10 For x3588 the LORD 3068 hath powred out 5258 z8804 vpon x5921 you the spirit 7307 of deepe sleepe, 8639 and hath closed 6105 z8762 x853 your eyes: 5869 x853 the Prophets 5030 and your rulers, 7218 the Seers 2374 hath hee couered. 3680 z8765

 29:11 And the vsion 2380 of all x3605 is become x1961 vnto you, as the wordes 1697 of a booke 5612 that is sealed, 2856 z8803 which x834 men deliuer 5414 z8799 to x413 one that is learned, 3045 z8802 x5612 saying, 559 z8800 Reade 7121 z8798 this, x2088 I pray thee: x4994 and hee saith, 559 z8804 I cannot, 3201 z8799 x3808 for x3588 it x1931 [is] sealed. 2856 z8803

 29:12 And the booke 5612 is deliuered 5414 z8738 to x5921 him that x834 is not learned, 3045 5612 z8804 x3808 saying, 559 z8800 Reade 7121 z8798 this, x2088 I pray thee: x4994 and he saith, 559 z8804 I am not learned. 3045 z8804 x3808 x5612

 29:13 ¶ Wherefore the Lord 136 said, 559 z8799 Forasmuch 3282 x3588 as this x2088 people 5971 draw neere 5066 z8738 mee with their mouth, 6310 and with their lips 8193 doe honour 3513 z8765 me, but haue remoued y7368 z0 their heart y3820 farre 7368 z8765 x3820 from x4480 me, and their feare 3374 towards x854 mee is x1961 taught 3925 z8794 by the precept 4687 of men: y582 x376

 29:14 Therefore x3651 behold, x2009 I will proceed 3254 z8802 to do a marueilous worke 6381 z8687 amongst x854 this x2088 people, 5971 [euen] a marueilous worke 6381 z8687 and a wonder: 6382 for the wisedome 2451 of their wise 2450 men shall perish, 6 z8804 and the vnderstanding 998 of their prudent 995 z8737 men shall be hid. 5641 z8691

 29:15 Woe 1945 vnto them that seeke deepe 6009 z8688 to hide 5641 z8687 their counsell 6098 from the LORD, 3068 x4480 and their workes 4639 are x1961 in the darke, 4285 and they say, 559 z8799 Who x4310 seeth 7200 z8802 vs? and who x4310 knoweth 3045 z8802 vs?

 29:16 Surely x518 your turning of things vpside downe 2017 z8800 shall be esteemed 2803 z8735 as the potters 3335 z8802 clay: 2563 for x3588 shall the worke 4639 say 559 z8799 of him that made 6213 z8802 it, He made 6213 z8804 me not? x3808 or shall the thing framed, 3336 say 559 z8804 of him that framed 3335 z8802 it, He had no vnderstanding? 995 z8689 x3808

 29:17 [Is] it not x3808 yet x5750 a very 4213 litle while, 4592 and Lebanon 3844 shall be turned 7725 z8804 into a fruitful field, 3759 and the fruitfull field 3759 shall be esteemed 2803 z8735 as a forrest? 3293

 29:18 ¶ And in that x1931 day 3117 shall the deafe 2795 heare 8085 z8804 the words 1697 of the booke, 5612 and the eyes 5869 of the blind 5787 shall see 7200 z8799 out of obscuritie, 652 x4480 and out of darkenesse. 2822 x4480

 29:19 The meeke 6035 also shall increase 3254 z8804 [their] ioy 8057 in the LORD, 3068 and the poore 34 among men 120 shall reioice 1523 z8799 in the holy One 6918 of Israel. 3478

 29:20 For x3588 the terrible one 6184 is brought to nought, 656 z8804 and the scorner 3887 z8801 is consumed, 3615 z8804 and all x3605 that watch 8245 z8802 for iniquitie 205 are cut off: 3772 z8738

 29:21 That make a man y120 an offendour 2398 z8688 x120 for a word, 1697 and lay a snare 6983 z8799 for him that reproueth 3198 z8688 in the gate, 8179 and turne aside 5186 z8686 the iust 6662 for a thing of nought. 8414

 29:22 Therefore x3651 thus x3541 saith 559 z8804 the LORD 3068 who x834 redeemed 6299 z8804 x853 Abraham, 85 concerning x413 the house 1004 of Iacob: 3290 Iacob 3290 shall not x3808 now x6258 be ashamed, 954 z8799 neither x3808 shall his face 6440 now x6258 waxe pale. 2357 z8799

 29:23 But when x3588 hee seeth 7200 z8800 his children 3206 the worke 4639 of mine hands 3027 in the midst 7130 of him, they shall sanctifie 6942 z8686 my Name, 8034 and sanctifie 6942 z8689 x853 the Holy One 6918 of Iacob, 3290 and shall feare 6206 z8686 the God 430 of Israel. 3478

 29:24 They also that erred 8582 z8802 in spirit 7307 shall come 3045 z8804 to vnderstanding, 998 and they that murmured, 7279 z8803 shall learne 3925 z8799 doctrine. 3948
