Ieremiah 51

1 The severe judgment of God against Babylon in revenge of Israel. 59 Jeremiah delivereth the book of this prophecy to Seraiah, to be cast unto Euphrates, in token of the perpetual sinking of Babylon.

 51:2 And will send 7971 z8765 vnto Babylon 894 fanners, 2114 z8801 that shall fanne 2219 z8765 her, and shall emptie 1238 z8787 x853 her land: 776 for x3588 in the day 3117 of trouble 7451 they shall be x1961 against x5921 her round about. 5439 x4480

 51:3 Against x413 [him that] bendeth 1869 z0 let the archer 1869 z8802 bend 1869 z8799 his bow, 7198 and against x413 [him that] lifteth himselfe vp 5927 z8691 in his brigandine; 5630 and spare 2550 z8799 yee not x408 her young men, 970 destroy yee vtterly 2763 z8685 all x3605 her hoste. 6635

 51:4 Thus the slaine 2491 shall fall 5307 z8804 in the land 776 of the Caldeans, 3778 and they that are thrust through 1856 z8794 in her streetes. 2351

 51:5 For x3588 Israel 3478 hath not x3808 beene forsaken, 488 nor Iudah 3063 of his God, 430 x4480 of the LORD 3068 x4480 of hostes; 6635 though x3588 their land 776 was filled 4390 z8804 with sinne 817 against the holy one 6918 x4480 of Israel. 3478

 51:6 Flee x5127 out y5127 z8798 of the middest 8432 x4480 of Babylon, 894 and deliuer 4422 z8761 euery man 376 his soule: 5315 bee not x408 cut off 1826 z8735 in her iniquitie: 5771 for x3588 this x1931 is the time 6256 of the LORDS 3068 vengeance: 5360 he will render 7999 z8764 vnto her a recompence. 1576

 51:7 Babylon 894 [hath beene] a golden 2091 cup 3563 in the LORDS 3068 hand, 3027 that made all x3605 the earth 776 drunken: 7937 z8764 the nations 1471 haue drunken 8354 z8804 of her wine, 3196 x4480 therefore x5921 x3651 the nations 1471 are mad. 1984 z8704

 51:8 Babylon 894 is suddenly 6597 fallen 5307 z8804 and destroyed: 7665 z8735 howle 3213 z8685 for x5921 her, take 3947 z8798 balme 6875 for her paine, 4341 if so be x194 she may be healed. 7495 z8735

 51:9 We would haue healed 7495 z8765 x853 Babylon, 894 but she is not x3808 healed: 7495 z8738 forsake 5800 z8798 her, and let vs goe y3212 z8799 x1980 euery one 376 into his owne countrey: 776 for x3588 her iudgement 4941 reacheth 5060 z8804 vnto x413 heauen, 8064 and is lifted vp 5375 z8738 euen to x5704 the skies. 7834

 51:13 O thou that dwellest 7931 z8802 z8675 z8804 vpon x5921 many 7227 waters, 4325 abundant 7227 in treasures; 214 thine end 7093 is come, 935 z8802 [and] the measure 520 of thy couetousnesse. 1215

 51:14 The LORD 3068 of hostes 6635 hath sworne 7650 z8738 by himselfe, 5315 [saying], Surely x3588 x518 I will fill 4390 z8765 thee with men, 120 as with caterpillers; 3218 and they shall lift vp 6030 z8804 a shoute 1959 against x5921 thee.

 51:15 Hee hath made 6213 z8802 the earth 776 by his power, 3581 he hath established 3559 z8688 the world 8398 by his wisedome, 2451 and hath stretched out 5186 z8804 the heauen 8064 by his vnderstanding. 8394

 51:16 When he vttereth 5414 z8800 [his] voyce, 6963 [there is] a multitude 1995 of waters 4325 in the heauens, 8064 and he causeth the vapours 5387 to ascend 5927 z8686 from the ends 7097 x4480 of the earth, 776 he maketh 6213 z8804 lightnings 1300 with raine, 4306 and bringeth forth 3318 z8686 the wind 7307 out of his treasures. 214 x4480

 51:17 Euery x3605 man 120 is brutish 1197 z8738 by [his] knowledge: 1847 x4480 euery x3605 founder 6884 z8802 is confounded 3001 z8689 by the grauen image: 6459 x4480 for x3588 his moulten image 5262 [is] falsehood, 8267 and [there is] no x3808 breath 7307 in them.

 51:18 They x1992 [are] vanitie, 1892 the worke 4639 of errours: 8595 in the time 6256 of their visitation 6486 they shall perish. 6 z8799

 51:19 The portion 2506 of Iacob 3290 [is] not x3808 like them, x428 for x3588 he x1931 [is] the former 3335 z8802 of all things, x3605 and [Israel is] the rod 7626 of his inheritance: 5159 the LORD 3068 of hostes 6635 [is] his Name. 8034

 51:20 Thou x859 [art] my battel-axe 4661 [and] weapons 3627 of warre: 4421 for with thee will I breake in pieces 5310 z8765 the nations, 1471 and with thee will I destroy 7843 z8689 kingdomes; 4467

 51:21 And with thee will I breake in pieces 5310 z8765 the horse 5483 and his rider, 7392 z8802 and with thee will I breake in pieces 5310 z8765 the charet, 7393 and his rider; 7392 z8802

 51:22 With thee also will I breake in pieces 5310 z8765 man 376 and woman, 802 and with thee will I breake in pieces 5310 z8765 old 2205 and yong, 5288 and with thee will I breake in pieces 5310 z8765 the yong man 970 and the maide. 1330

 51:23 I will also breake in pieces 5310 z8765 with thee, the shepheard 7462 z8802 and his flocke, 5739 and with thee will I breake in pieces 5310 z8765 the husbandman, 406 and his yoke of oxen, 6776 and with thee will I breake in pieces 5310 z8765 Captaines 6346 and rulers. 5461

 51:24 And I will render 7999 z8765 vnto Babylon, 894 and to all x3605 the inhabitants 3427 z8802 of Caldea, 3778 x853 all x3605 their euil 7451 that x834 they haue done 6213 z8804 in Zion 6726 in your sight, 5869 saith 5002 z8803 the LORD. 3068

 51:25 Behold, x2009 I [am] against x413 thee, O destroying 4889 mountaine, 2022 saith 5002 z8803 the LORD, 3068 which destroiest 7843 z8688 x853 all x3605 the earth, 776 and I wil stretch out 5186 z8804 x853 mine hand 3027 vpon x5921 thee, and roule thee downe 1556 z8773 from x4480 the rockes, 5553 and will make 5414 z8804 thee a burnt 8316 mountaine. 2022

 51:26 And they shall not x3808 take 3947 z8799 of x4480 thee a stone 68 for a corner, 6438 nor a stone 68 for foundations, 4146 but x3588 thou shalt be x1961 desolate 8077 for euer, 5769 saith 5002 z8803 the LORD. 3068

 51:27 Set ye vp 5375 z8798 a standart 5251 in the land, 776 blow 8628 z8798 the trumpet 7782 among the nations: 1471 prepare 6942 z8761 the nations 1471 against x5921 her: call together 8085 z8685 against x5921 her the kingdomes 4467 of Ararat, 780 Minni, 4508 & Ashchenaz: 813 appoint 6485 z8798 a captaine 2951 against x5921 her: cause her horses 5483 to come vp 5927 z8685 as the rough 5569 caterpillers. 3218

 51:28 Prepare 6942 z8761 against x5921 her the nations 1471 with x853 the kings 4428 of the Medes, 4074 x853 the captaines 6346 thereof, and all x3605 the rulers 5461 thereof, and all x3605 the land 776 of his dominion. 4475

 51:29 And the land 776 shall tremble 7493 z8799 and sorrow: 2342 z8799 for x3588 euery purpose 4284 of the LORD 3068 shalbe performed 6965 z8804 against x5921 Babylon, 894 to make 7760 z8800 x853 the land 776 of Babylon 894 a desolation 8047 without x4480 x369 an inhabitant. 3427 z8802

 51:30 The mightie men 1368 of Babylon 894 haue forborne 2308 z8804 to fight: 3898 z8736 they haue remained 3427 z8804 in their holdes: 4679 their might 1369 hath failed, 5405 z8804 they became x1961 as women: 802 they haue burnt 3341 z8689 their dwelling places: 4908 her barres 1280 are broken. 7665 z8738

 51:31 One poste 7323 z8801 shall runne 7323 z8799 to meet 7125 z8800 another, 7323 z8801 and one messenger 5046 z8688 to meete 7125 z8800 another, 5046 z8688 to shew 5046 z8687 the king 4428 of Babylon 894 that x3588 his citie 5892 is taken 3920 z8738 at [one] end, 7097 x4480

 51:32 And that the passages 4569 are stopped, 8610 z8738 and the reedes 98 they haue burnt 8313 z8804 with fire, 784 and the men y582 x376 of warre 4421 are afrighted. 926 z8738

 51:33 For x3588 thus x3541 saith 559 z8804 the LORD 3068 of hostes, 6635 the God 430 of Israel; 3478 The daughter 1323 of Babylon 894 [is] like a threshing floore; 1637 [it is] time 6256 to thresh 1869 z8687 her: yet x5750 a little while, 4592 and the time 6256 of her haruest 7105 shall come. 935 z8804

 51:34 Nebuchadrezzar 5019 the king 4428 of Babylon 894 hath deuoured 398 z8804 me, he hath crushed 2000 z8804 me; he hath made 3322 z8689 me an emptie 7385 vessell: 3627 hee hath swallowed mee vp 1104 z8804 like a dragon; 8577 he hath filled 4390 z8765 his bellie 3770 with my delicates, 5730 x4480 he hath cast me out. 1740 z8689

 51:35 The violence 2555 done to me and to my flesh, 7607 [be] vpon x5921 Babylon, 894 shall the inhabitant 3427 z8802 of Zion 6726 say; 559 z8799 and my blood 1818 vpon x413 the inhabitants 3427 z8802 of Caldea, 3778 shall Ierusalem 3389 say. 559 z8799

 51:36 Therefore x3651 thus x3541 saith 559 z8804 the LORD, 3068 Behold, x2009 I wil plead 7378 z8801 x853 thy cause, 7379 and take vengeance y5358 z8765 for thee, 5360 x5358 x853 and I will drie vp 2717 z8689 x853 her sea, 3220 and make x853 her springs 4726 drie. 3001 z8689

 51:37 And Babylon 894 shal become x1961 heaps, 1530 a dwelling place 4583 for dragons, 8577 an astonishment, 8047 and an hissing 8322 without x4480 x369 an inhabitant. 3427 z8802

 51:38 They shall roare 7580 z8799 together 3162 like lions; 3715 they shall yell 5286 z8804 as lions 738 whelps. 1484

 51:39 In their heat 2527 I will make 7896 z8799 x853 their feasts, 4960 and I will make them drunken, 7937 z8689 that x4616 they may reioyce, 5937 z8799 and sleepe 3462 z8804 a perpetuall 5769 sleepe, 8142 and not x3808 wake, 6974 z8686 saith 5002 z8803 the LORD. 3068

 51:42 The sea 3220 is come vp 5927 z8804 vpon x5921 Babylon: 894 she is couered 3680 z8738 with the multitude 1995 of the waues 1530 thereof.

 51:43 Her cities 5892 are x1961 a desolation, 8047 a dry 6723 land 776 and a wildernes, 6160 a land 776 wherein x2004 no x3605 x3808 man 376 dwelleth, 3427 z8799 neither x3808 doeth any sonne 1121 of man 120 passe 5674 z8799 thereby. 2004

 51:45 My people, 5971 goe x3318 ye out y3318 z8798 of the midst 8432 x4480 of her, and deliuer 4422 z8761 ye euery man 376 x853 his soule 5315 fro the fierce 2740 x4480 anger 639 of the LORD, 3068

 51:46 And lest x6435 your heart 3824 faint, 7401 z8735 and ye feare 3372 z8799 for the rumour 8052 that shall be heard 8085 z8737 in the land: 776 a rumour 8052 shall both come 935 z8804 one yeere, 8141 and after 310 that in [another] yeere 8141 [shall come] a rumour, 8052 and violence 2555 in the land, 776 ruler 4910 z8802 against x5921 ruler. 4910 z8802

 51:47 Therefore x3651 behold, x2009 the dayes 3117 come, 935 z8802 that I will doe iudgment 6485 z8804 vpon x5921 the grauen images 6456 of Babylon, 894 and her whole x3605 land 776 shall bee confounded, 954 z8799 and all x3605 her slaine 2491 shall fall 5307 z8799 in the midst 8432 of her.

 51:48 Then the heauen 8064 and the earth, 776 and all x3605 that x834 [is] therein, shall sing 7442 z8765 for x5921 Babylon: 894 for x3588 the spoilers 7703 z8802 shall come 935 z8799 vnto her from the North, 6828 x4480 saith 5002 z8803 the LORD. 3068

 51:49 As 1571 Babylon 894 [hath caused] the slaine 2491 of Israel 3478 to fall: 5307 z8800 so x1571 at Babylon 894 shall fall 5307 z8804 the slaine 2491 of all x3605 the earth. 776

 51:50 Ye that haue escaped y6405 x6412 the sword, 2719 x4480 go away, 1980 z8798 stand not still: 5975 z8799 x408 remember 2142 z8798 x853 the LORD 3068 afarre off: 7350 and let Ierusalem 3389 come 5927 z8799 into x5921 your mind. 3824

 51:51 We are confounded, 954 z8804 because x3588 wee haue heard 8085 z8804 reproch, 2781 shame 3639 hath couered 3680 z8765 our faces: 6440 for x3588 strangers 2114 z8801 are come 935 z8804 into x5921 the Sanctuaries 4720 of the LORDS 3068 house. 1004

 51:52 Wherfore x3651 behold, x2009 the dayes 3117 come, 935 z8802 saith 5002 z8803 the LORD, 3068 that I will do iudgment 6485 z8804 vpon x5921 her grauen images, 6456 and through all x3605 her land 776 the wounded 2491 shall grone. 602 z8799

 51:53 Though x3588 Babylon 894 should mount vp 5927 z8799 to heauen, 8064 and though x3588 shee should fortifie 1219 z8762 the height 4791 of her strength, 5797 [yet] y227 from x4480 x854 me shall spoilers 7703 z8802 come 935 z8799 vnto her, saith 5002 z8803 the LORD. 3068

 51:54 A sound 6963 of a crie 2201 [commeth] from Babylon, 894 x4480 and great 1419 destruction 7667 from the land 776 x4480 of the Caldeans. 3778

 51:55 Because x3588 the LORD 3068 hath spoiled 7703 z8802 x853 Babylon, 894 and destroyed 6 z8765 out of x4480 her the great 1419 voyce 6963 when her waues 1530 doe roare 1993 z8804 like great 7227 waters, 4325 a noise 7588 of their voice 6963 is vttered. 5414 z8738

 51:56 Because x3588 the spoiler 7703 z8802 is come 935 z8804 vpon x5921 her, [euen] vpon x5921 Babylon, 894 and her mightie men 1368 are taken, 3920 z8738 euery one of their bowes 7198 is broken, 2865 z8765 for x3588 the LORD 3068 God 410 of recompenses 1578 shall surely y7999 z8763 requite. 7999 z8762

 51:57 And I will make drunke 7937 z8689 her princes 8269 and her wise 2450 men, her captaines 6346 and her rulers, 5461 and her mightie men: 1368 and they shall sleepe 3462 z8804 a perpetuall 5769 sleepe, 8142 and not x3808 wake, 6974 z8686 saith 5002 z8803 the king, 4428 whose Name 8034 [is] the LORD 3068 of hosts. 6635

 51:58 Thus x3541 saith 559 z8804 the LORD 3068 of hosts, 6635 The broad 7342 walles 2346 of Babylon 894 shalbe vtterly y6209 z8771 broken, 6209 z8698 and her high 1364 gates 8179 shal be burnt 3341 z8799 with fire, 784 and the people 5971 shall labour 3021 z8799 in vaine, 7385 and the folke 3816 in y1767 the fire, 784 and they shall be weary. 3286 z8804

 51:59 ¶ The word 1697 which x834 Ieremiah 3414 the prophet 5030 commanded 6680 z8765 x853 Seraiah 8304 the sonne 1121 of Neriah, 5374 the sonne 1121 of Maaseiah, 4271 when he went y3212 z8800 x1980 with x854 Zedekiah 6667 the king 4428 of Iudah 3063 into Babylon, 894 in the fourth 7243 yeere 8141 of his reigne, 4427 z8800 and this Seraiah 8304 was a quiet 4496 prince. 8269

 51:60 So Ieremiah 3414 wrote 3789 z8799 in x413 a 259 booke 5612 x853 all x3605 the euill 7451 that x834 should come 935 z8799 vpon x413 Babylon: 894 [euen] x853 all x3605 these x428 wordes 1697 that are written 3789 z8803 against x413 Babylon. 894

 51:61 And Ieremiah 3414 said 559 z8799 to x413 Seraiah, 8304 When thou commest 935 z8800 to Babylon, 894 and shalt see, 7200 z8804 and shalt read 7121 z8804 x853 all x3605 these x428 words, 1697

 51:62 Then shalt thou say, 559 z8804 O LORD, 3068 thou x859 hast spoken 1696 z8765 against x413 this x2088 place, 4725 to cut it off, 3772 z8687 that none x1115 shall x1961 remaine 3427 z8802 in it, neither man 120 x4480 nor x5704 beast, 929 but x3588 that it shalbe x1961 desolate 8077 for euer. 5769

 51:63 And it shall bee x1961 when thou hast made an end 3615 z8763 of reading 7121 z8800 x853 this x2088 booke, 5612 [that] thou shalt binde 7194 z8799 a stone 68 to x5921 it, and cast 7993 z8689 it into x413 the midst 8432 of Euphrates. 6578
