Ieremiah 19

Under the type of breaking a potter's vessel is foreshewed the desolation of the Jews for their sins.

 19:1 ¶ Thus x3541 saith 559 z8804 the LORD, 3068 Goe 1980 z8800 and get 7069 z8804 a potters 3335 z8802 earthen 2789 bottell, 1228 and take of the ancients 2205 x4480 of the people, 5971 and of the ancients 2205 x4480 of the Priestes. 3548

 19:2 And goe forth 3318 z8804 vnto x413 the valley 1516 of the sonne 1121 of Hinnom, 2011 which x834 [is] by the entrie 6607 of the Eastgate, 2777 8179 and proclaime 7121 z8804 there x8033 x853 the words 1697 that x834 I shall tell 1696 z8762 x413 thee:

 19:3 And say, 559 z8804 Heare 8085 z8798 ye the word 1697 of the LORD, 3068 O kings 4428 of Iudah, 3063 and inhabitants 3427 z8802 of Ierusalem; 3389 Thus x3541 saith 559 z8804 the LORD 3068 of hostes, 6635 the God 430 of Israel; 3478 Behold, x2009 I will bring 935 z8688 euill 7451 vpon x5921 this x2088 place, 4725 the which x834 whosoeuer x3605 heareth, 8085 z8802 his eares 241 shall tingle. 6750 z8799

 19:4 Because x3282 x834 they haue forsaken 5800 z8804 mee, and haue estranged 5234 z8762 x853 this x2088 place, 4725 and haue burnt incense 6999 z8762 in it vnto other 312 gods, 430 whom x834 neither x3808 they, x1992 nor their fathers 1 haue knowen, 3045 z8804 nor the kings 4428 of Iudah, 3063 and haue filled 4390 z8804 x853 this x2088 place 4725 with the blood 1818 of innocents. 5355

 19:5 They haue built 1129 z8804 also x853 the high places 1116 of Baal, 1168 to burne 8313 z8800 x853 their sonnes 1121 with fire 784 for burnt offerings 5930 vnto Baal, 1168 which x834 I commanded 6680 z8765 not, x3808 nor x3808 spake 1696 z8765 [it], neither x3808 came 5927 z8804 [it] into x5921 my minde. 3820

 19:6 Therefore x3651 behold, x2009 the daies 3117 come, 935 z8802 saith 5002 z8803 the LORD, 3068 that this x2088 place 4725 shall no x3808 more x5750 bee called 7121 z8735 Tophet, 8612 nor the valley 1516 of the sonne 1121 of Hinnom, 2011 but x3588 x518 the valley 1516 of slaughter. 2028

 19:7 And I will make void 1238 z8804 x853 the counsell 6098 of Iudah 3063 and Ierusalem 3389 in this x2088 place, 4725 and I will cause them to fall 5307 z8689 by the sword 2719 before 6440 their enemies, 341 z8802 and by the hands 3027 of them that seek 1245 z8764 their liues: 5315 and x853 their carkeises 5038 will I giue 5414 z8804 to be meat 3978 for the foules 5775 of the heauen, 8064 and for the beasts 929 of the earth. 776

 19:8 And I will make 7760 z8804 x853 this x2063 citie 5892 desolate 8047 and an hissing: 8322 euery one x3605 that passeth 5674 z8802 thereby x5921 shalbe astonished 8074 z8799 and hisse, 8319 z8799 because x5921 of all x3605 the plagues 4347 thereof.

 19:9 And I will cause them to eate 398 z8689 x853 the flesh 1320 of their sonnes 1121 and the flesh 1320 of their daughters, 1323 and they shal eate 398 z8799 euery one 376 the flesh 1320 of his friend 7453 in the siege 4692 and straitnesse, 4689 wherewith x834 their enemies, 341 z8802 and they that seeke 1245 z8764 their liues, 5315 shall straiten 6693 z8686 them.

 19:10 Then shalt thou breake 7665 z8804 ye bottle 1228 in the sight 5869 of the men y582 x376 that goe 1980 z8802 with x854 thee,

 19:11 And shalt say 559 z8804 vnto x413 them; Thus x3541 saith 559 z8804 the LORD 3068 of hostes, 6635 Euen so 3602 will I breake 7665 z8799 x853 this x2088 people 5971 and this x2063 citie 5892 as x834 one breaketh 7665 z8799 x853 a potters 3335 z8802 vessell 3627 that x834 cannot 3201 z8799 x3808 bee made whole x7495 againe, y7495 z8736 x5750 and they shall bury 6912 z8799 them in Tophet, 8612 till there be no x4480 x369 place 4725 else to bury. 6912 z8800

 19:12 Thus x3651 will I doe 6213 z8799 vnto this x2088 place, 4725 sayth 5002 z8803 the LORD, 3068 and to the inhabitants 3427 z8802 thereof, and [euen] make 5414 z8800 x853 their x2063 citie 5892 as Tophet. 8612

 19:13 And the houses 1004 of Ierusalem, 3389 and the houses 1004 of the kings 4428 of Iudah 3063 shall bee x1961 defiled 2931 as the place 4725 of Tophet, 8612 because of all x3605 the houses 1004 vpon x5921 whose x834 roofes 1406 they haue burnt incense 6999 z8765 vnto all x3605 the hoste 6635 of heauen, 8064 & haue powred out 5258 z8687 drinke offrings 5262 vnto other 312 gods. 430

 19:14 Then came 935 z8799 Ieremiah 3414 from Tophet, 8612 x4480 whither x834 x8033 the LORD 3068 had sent 7971 z8804 him to prophecie, 5012 z8736 and hee stood 5975 z8799 in the court 2691 of the LORDS 3068 house, 1004 and said 559 z8799 to x413 all x3605 the people, 5971

 19:15 Thus x3541 saith 559 z8804 the LORD 3068 of hostes 6635 the God 430 of Israel, 3478 Behold, x2009 I wil bring 935 z8688 vpon x413 this x2063 city, 5892 and vpon x5921 all x3605 her townes 5892 x853 all x3605 the euill 7451 that x834 I haue pronounced 1696 z8765 against x5921 it, because x3588 they haue hardened 7185 z8689 x853 their neckes, 6203 that they might not x1115 heare 8085 z8800 x853 my wordes. 1697
