Ieremiah 26

1 Jeremiah, by promises and threatenings, exhorteth to repentance. 8 He is therefore apprehended, 10 and arraigned. 12 His apology. 16 He is quit in judgment, by the example of Micah, 20 and of Urijah, 24 and by the care of Ahikam.

 26:1 ¶ In the beginning 7225 of the reigne 4468 of Iehoiakim 3079 the sonne 1121 of Iosiah 2977 king 4428 of Iudah, 3063 came x1961 this x2088 word 1697 from x4480 x854 the LORD, 3068 saying; 559 z8800

 26:2 Thus x3541 saith 559 z8804 the LORD, 3068 Stand 5975 z8798 in the Court 2691 of the LORDS 3068 house, 1004 and speake 1696 z8765 vnto x5921 all x3605 the cities 5892 of Iudah, 3063 which come 935 z8802 to worship 7812 z8692 in the LORDS 3068 house, 1004 all x3605 the wordes 1697 that x834 I command 6680 z8765 thee to speake 1696 z8763 vnto x413 them: diminish 1639 z8799 not x408 a word; 1697

 26:3 If so bee x194 they will hearken, 8085 z8799 and turne 7725 z8799 euery man 376 from his euill 7451 way, 1870 x4480 that I may repent 5162 z8738 me of x413 the euil 7451 which x834 I x595 purpose 2803 z8802 to doe 6213 z8800 vnto them, because 6440 x4480 of the euil 7455 of their doings. 4611

 26:4 And thou shalt say 559 z8804 vnto x413 them, Thus x3541 saith 559 z8804 the LORD; 3068 If x518 yee will not x3808 hearken 8085 z8799 to x413 mee to walke y3212 z8800 x1980 in my Law, 8451 which x834 I haue set 5414 z8804 before 6440 you,

 26:5 To hearken 8085 z8800 to x5921 the wordes 1697 of my seruants 5650 the Prophets, 5030 whom x834 I x595 sent 7971 z8802 vnto x413 you, both rising vp early 7925 z8687 and sending 7971 z8800 them, (but ye haue not x3808 hearkned:) 8085 z8804

 26:6 Then wil I make 5414 z8804 x853 this x2088 house 1004 like Shiloh, 7887 and wil make 5414 z8799 this x2063 city 5892 a curse 7045 to all x3605 the nations 1471 of the earth. 776

 26:7 So the priests 3548 and the prophets, 5030 and all x3605 the people 5971 heard 8085 z8799 x853 Ieremiah 3414 speaking 1696 z8764 x853 these x428 wordes 1697 in the house 1004 of the LORD. 3068

 26:8 ¶ Now it came to passe x1961 when Ieremiah 3414 had made an ende 3615 z8763 of speaking 1696 z8763 x853 all x3605 that x834 the LORD 3068 had commanded 6680 z8765 him to speake 1696 z8763 vnto x413 all x3605 the people, 5971 that the priests 3548 and the prophets, 5030 and all x3605 the people 5971 tooke 8610 z8799 him, saying; 559 z8800 Thou shalt surely y4191 z8800 die. 4191 z8799

 26:9 Why x4069 hast thou prophecied 5012 z8738 in the Name 8034 of the LORD, 3068 saying, 559 z8800 This x2088 house 1004 shalbe x1961 like Shiloh, 7887 and this x2063 city 5892 shalbe desolate 2717 z8799 without x4480 x369 an inhabitant? 3427 z8802 And all x3605 the people 5971 were gathered 6950 z8735 against x413 Ieremiah 3414 in the house 1004 of the LORD. 3068

 26:10 ¶ When the Princes 8269 of Iudah 3063 heard 8085 z8799 x853 these x428 things, 1697 then they came vp 5927 z8799 from the kings 4428 house 1004 x4480 vnto the house 1004 of the LORD, 3068 and sate downe 3427 z8799 in the entrie 6607 of the new 2319 gate 8179 of the LORDS 3068 [house].

 26:11 Then spake 559 z8799 the priests 3548 and the prophets 5030 vnto x413 the Princes, 8269 and to x413 all x3605 the people, 5971 saying; 559 z8800 This x2088 man 376 [is] worthy 4941 to die, 4194 for x3588 he hath prophecied 5012 z8738 against x413 this x2063 citie, 5892 as x834 yee haue heard 8085 z8804 with your eares. 241

 26:12 ¶ Then spake 559 z8799 Ieremiah 3414 vnto x413 all x3605 the Princes, 8269 and to x413 all x3605 the people, 5971 saying, 559 z8800 The LORD 3068 sent 7971 z8804 me to prophecie 5012 z8736 against x413 this x2088 house, 1004 and against x413 this x2063 citie, 5892 all x3605 the wordes 1697 that x834 yee haue heard. 8085 z8804

 26:13 Therefore nowe x6258 amend 3190 z8685 your wayes, 1870 and your doings, 4611 and obey 8085 z8798 the voice 6963 of the LORD 3068 your God, 430 and the LORD 3068 will repent 5162 z8735 him of x413 the euill 7451 that x834 he hath pronounced 1696 z8765 against x5921 you.

 26:14 As for mee, x589 behold, x2009 I [am] in your hand: 3027 doe 6213 z8798 with mee as seemeth 5869 good 2896 and meet 3477 vnto you.

 26:15 But x389 know y3045 z8799 ye for certaine, 3045 z8800 That x3588 if x518 ye x859 put mee to death, 4191 z8688 x853 ye x859 shall surely x3588 bring 5414 z8802 innocent 5355 blood 1818 vpon x5921 your selues, and vpon x413 this x2063 citie, 5892 and vpon x413 the inhabitants 3427 z8802 thereof: for x3588 of a trueth 571 the LORD 3068 hath sent 7971 z8804 mee vnto x5921 you, to speake 1696 z8763 x853 all x3605 these x428 words 1697 in your eares. 241

 26:16 ¶ Then said 559 z8799 the Princes, 8269 and all x3605 the people, 5971 vnto x413 the priests, 3548 and to x413 the prophets; 5030 This x2088 man 376 [is] not x369 worthy 4941 to die: 4194 for x3588 hee hath spoken 1696 z8765 to x413 vs in the Name 8034 of the LORD 3068 our God. 430

 26:17 Then rose vp 6965 z8799 certaine y582 x376 of the Elders 2205 x4480 of the land, 776 and spake 559 z8799 to x413 all x3605 the assembly 6951 of the people, 5971 saying; 559 z8800

 26:18 Micah 4320 the Morashite 4183 prophecied 5012 z8737 x1961 in the dayes 3117 of Hezekiah 2396 king 4428 of Iudah, 3063 and spake 559 z8799 to x413 all x3605 the people 5971 of Iudah, 3063 saying; 559 z8800 Thus x3541 saith 559 z8804 the LORD 3068 of hostes, 6635 Zion 6726 shall be plowed 2790 z8735 [like] a field, 7704 and Ierusalem 3389 shall become x1961 heapes, 5856 and the mountaine 2022 of the house, 1004 the hie places 1116 of a forrest. 3293

 26:19 Did Hezekiah 2396 King 4428 of Iudah 3063 and all x3605 Iudah 3063 put him at all y4191 z8687 to death? 4191 z8689 did hee not x3808 feare y3373 x3372 x853 the LORD, 3068 and besought 2470 z8762 x853 x6440 the LORD, 3068 y6440 and the LORD 3068 repented 5162 z8735 him of x413 the euill 7451 which x834 he had pronounced 1696 z8765 against x5921 them? thus y587 might wee x587 procure 6213 z8802 great 1419 euill 7451 against x5921 our soules. 5315

 26:20 And there was x1961 also x1571 a man 376 that prophecied 5012 z8693 in the Name 8034 of the LORD, 3068 Urijah 223 the sonne 1121 of Shemaiah 8098 of Kiriath-iearim, 7157 x4480 who prophecied 5012 z8735 against x5921 this x2063 citie 5892 and against x5921 this x2063 land, 776 according to all x3605 the words 1697 of Ieremiah. 3414

 26:21 And when Iehoiakim 3079 the king 4428 with all x3605 his mightie men, 1368 and all x3605 the princes 8269 heard 8085 z8799 x853 his wordes, 1697 the king 4428 sought 1245 z8762 to put him to death; 4191 z8687 but when Urijah 223 heard 8085 z8799 [it], he was afraid 3372 z8799 and fled, 1272 z8799 and went y935 z8799 into x935 Egypt. 4714

 26:22 And Iehoiakim 3079 the king 4428 sent 7971 z8799 men y582 x376 into Egypt, 4714 [namely] x853 Elnathan 494 the sonne 1121 of Achbor, 5907 and [certeine] men y582 x376 with x854 him, into x413 Egypt. 4714

 26:23 And they fet foorth 3318 z8686 x853 Urijah 223 out of Egypt, 4714 x4480 and brought 935 z8686 him vnto x413 Iehoiakim 3079 the king, 4428 who slewe 5221 z8686 him with the sword, 2719 and cast 7993 z8686 x853 his dead body 5038 into x413 the graues 6913 of the common 1121 people. 5971

 26:24 Neuerthelesse, x389 the hand 3027 of Ahikam, 296 the sonne 1121 of Shaphan, 8227 was x1961 with x854 Ieremiah, 3414 that they should not x1115 giue 5414 z8800 him into the hand 3027 of the people, 5971 to put him to death. 4191 z8687
