Deuteronomie 1

1 Moses' speech in the end of the fortieth year, briefly rehearsing the story, 6 of God's promise, 13 giving them officers, 19 of sending the spies to search the land, 34 of God's anger for their incredulity, 41 and disobedience.

 1:1 ¶ These x428 [bee] the woordes 1697 which x834 Moses 4872 spake 1696 z8765 vnto x413 all x3605 Israel, 3478 on this side 5676 Iordane 3383 in the wildernes, 4057 in the plaine 6160 ouer against 4136 the Red 5489 [sea], betweene x996 Paran, 6290 and Tophel, 8603 and Laban, 3837 and Hazeroth, 2698 and Dizahab. 1774

 1:2 ([There are] eleuen 259 6240 daies 3117 [iourney] from Horeb, 2722 x4480 by the way 1870 of mount 2022 Seir, 8165 vnto x5704 Kadesh Barnea.) 6947

 1:3 And it came to passe x1961 in the fourtieth 705 yeere, 8141 in the eleuenth 6249 6240 moneth, 2320 on the first 259 [day] of the moneth, 2320 that Moses 4872 spake 1696 z8765 vnto x413 the children 1121 of Israel, 3478 according vnto all x3605 that x834 the LORD 3068 had giuen him in commandement 6680 z8765 x853 vnto x413 them:

 1:5 On this side 5676 Iordane, 3383 in the land 776 of Moab, 4124 began 2974 z8689 Moses 4872 to declare 874 z8763 x853 this x2063 law, 8451 saying, 559 z8800

 1:6 The LORD 3068 our God 430 spake 1696 z8765 vnto x413 vs in Horeb, 2722 saying, 559 z8800 Ye haue dwelt 3427 z8800 long ynough 7227 in this x2088 mount: 2022

 1:7 Turne 6437 z8798 you, and take your iourney, 5265 z8798 and goe 935 z8798 to the mount 2022 of the Amorites, 567 and vnto x413 all x3605 [the places] nigh 7934 thereunto, in the plaine, 6160 in the hills, 2022 and in the vale, 8219 and in the South, 5045 and by the sea 3220 side, 2348 to the land 776 of the Canaanites, 3669 and vnto Lebanon, 3844 vnto x5704 the great 1419 riuer, 5104 the riuer 5104 Euphrates. 6578

 1:8 Behold, 7200 z8798 I haue set 5414 z8804 x853 the land 776 before 6440 you: Goe y935 z8798 in, x935 and possesse 3423 z8798 x853 the land, 776 which x834 the LORD 3068 sware 7650 z8738 vnto your fathers, 1 Abraham, 85 Isaac, 3327 and Iacob, 3290 to giue 5414 z8800 vnto them, and to their seed 2233 after 310 them.

 1:9 ¶ And I spake 559 z8799 vnto x413 you at that x1931 time, 6256 saying, 559 z8800 I am not able 3201 z8799 x3808 to beare 5375 z8800 you my selfe alone: 905

 1:10 The LORD 3068 your God 430 hath multiplied 7235 z8689 you, and beholde, x2009 you are this day 3117 as the starres 3556 of heauen 8064 for multitude. 7230

 1:11 (The LORD 3068 God 430 of your fathers 1 make you a thousand 505 times 6471 so many moe x3254 as y3254 z8686 ye [are], and blesse 1288 z8762 you as x834 he hath promised 1696 z8765 you.)

 1:12 How 349 can I my selfe alone x905 beare 5375 z8799 your cumbrance, 2960 and your burden, 4853 and your strife? 7379

 1:13 Take 3051 z8798 ye wise 2450 men, y582 x376 and vnderstanding, 995 z8737 and knowen 3045 z8803 among your tribes, 7626 and I will make 7760 z8799 them rulers 7218 ouer you.

 1:14 And ye answered 6030 z8799 me, and saide, 559 z8799 The thing 1697 which x834 thou hast spoken, 1696 z8765 is good 2896 [for vs] to doe. 6213 z8800

 1:15 So I tooke 3947 z8799 x853 the chiefe 7218 of your tribes, 7626 wise 2450 men, y582 x376 and knowen, 3045 z8803 and made 5414 z8799 them heads 7218 ouer x5921 you, captaines 8269 ouer thousands, 505 and captaines 8269 ouer hundreds, 3967 and captaines 8269 ouer fifties, 2572 and captaines 8269 ouer tennes, 6235 and officers 7860 z8802 among your tribes. 7626

 1:16 And I charged 6680 z8762 x853 your Iudges 8199 z8802 at that x1931 time, 6256 saying, 559 z8800 Heare 8085 z8800 [the causes] betweene x996 your brethren, 251 and iudge 8199 z8804 righteously 6664 betweene x996 euery man 376 and his brother, 251 & the stranger 1616 [that is] with him.

 1:17 Ye shall not x3808 respect 5234 z8686 persons 6440 in iudgement, 4941 [but] you shall heare 8085 z8799 the small 6996 aswell as the great: 1419 you shall not x3808 bee afraid 1481 z8799 of the face 6440 x4480 of man, 376 for x3588 the iudgment 4941 is Gods: 430 and the cause 1697 that x834 is too hard 7185 z8799 for x4480 you, bring 7126 z8686 it vnto x413 me, and I will heare 8085 z8804 it.

 1:18 And I commanded 6680 z8762 you at that x1931 time 6256 x853 all x3605 the things 1697 which x834 ye should doe. 6213 z8799

 1:19 ¶ And when wee departed 5265 z8799 from Horeb, 2722 x4480 we went through y3212 z8799 x1980 x853 all x3605 that x1931 great 1419 and terrible 3372 z8737 wildernes, 4057 which x834 you saw 7200 z8804 by the way 1870 of the mountaine 2022 of the Amorites, 567 as x834 the LORD 3068 our God 430 commanded 6680 z8765 vs: and wee came 935 z8799 to x5704 Kadesh Barnea. 6947

 1:20 And I said 559 z8799 vnto x413 you, Ye are come 935 z8804 vnto x5704 the mountaine 2022 of the Amorites, 567 which x834 the LORD 3068 our God 430 doth giue 5414 z8802 vnto vs.

 1:21 Behold, 7200 z8798 the LORD 3068 thy God 430 hath set 5414 z8804 x853 the land 776 before 6440 thee: Goe vp, 5927 z8798 [and] possesse 3423 z8798 [it], as x834 the LORD 3068 God 430 of thy fathers 1 hath said 1696 z8765 vnto thee: Feare 3372 z8799 not, x408 neither x408 be discouraged. 2865 z8735

 1:22 ¶ And ye came neere 7126 z8799 vnto x413 mee euery one x3605 of you, and said, 559 z8799 We will send 7971 z8799 men y582 x376 before 6440 vs, and they shall search vs out 2658 z8799 x853 the land, 776 and bring 7725 z0 vs word 1697 againe, y7725 z8686 x853 by what x834 way 1870 we must goe vp, 5927 z8799 and x853 into x413 what x834 cities 5892 we shall come. 935 z8799

 1:23 And the saying 1697 pleased mee well: 3190 5869 z8799 and I tooke 3947 z8799 twelue 8147 6240 men y582 x376 of x4480 you, one 259 of a tribe. 7626 y376

 1:24 And they turned 6437 z8799 and went vp 5927 z8799 into the mountaine, 2022 and came 935 z8799 vnto x5704 the valley 5158 of Eshcol, 812 and searched it out. 7270 z8762 x853

 1:25 And they tooke 3947 z8799 of the fruit 6529 x4480 of the land 776 in their handes, 3027 and brought it downe 3381 z8686 vnto x413 vs, and brought 7725 z0 vs worde 1697 againe, y7725 z8686 and said, 559 z8799 It is a good 2896 lande 776 which x834 the LORD 3068 our God 430 doeth giue 5414 z8802 vs.

 1:26 Notwithstanding, ye would 14 z8804 not x3808 goe vp, 5927 z8800 but rebelled y4784 z8686 against x4784 x853 the commandement 6310 of the LORD 3068 your God. 430

 1:27 And ye murmured 7279 z8735 in your tents 168 and said, 559 z8799 Because the LORD 3068 hated 8135 vs, he hath brought vs forth 3318 z8689 out of the land 776 x4480 of Egypt, 4714 to deliuer 5414 z8800 vs into the hand 3027 of the Amorites, 567 to destroy 8045 z8687 vs:

 1:28 Whither x575 shall wee x587 goe vp? 5927 z8802 our brethren 251 haue discouraged 4549 z8689 x853 our heart, 3824 saying, 559 z8800 The people 5971 is greater 1419 and taller 7311 z8802 then x4480 we, the cities 5892 are great, 1419 and walled x1219 vp y1219 z8803 to heauen, 8064 and moreouer x1571 we haue seene 7200 z8804 the sonnes 1121 of the Anakims 6062 there. x8033

 1:29 Then I said 559 z8799 vnto x413 you, Dread 6206 z8799 not, x3808 neither x3808 be afraid 3372 z8799 of x4480 them.

 1:30 The LORD 3068 your God 430 which goeth 1980 z8802 before 6440 you, he x1931 shall fight 3898 z8735 for you, according to all x3605 that x834 hee did 6213 z8804 for x854 you in Egypt 4714 before your eyes: 5869

 1:31 And in the wildernes, 4057 where x834 thou hast seene 7200 z8804 how that x834 the LORD 3068 thy God 430 bare 5375 z8804 thee, as x834 a man 376 doth beare 5375 z8799 x853 his sonne, 1121 in all x3605 the way 1870 that x834 ye went, 1980 z8804 vntil x5704 ye came 935 z8800 into x5704 this x2088 place. 4725

 1:32 Yet in this x2088 thing 1697 ye did not x369 beleeue 539 z8688 the LORD 3068 your God, 430

 1:33 Who went 1980 z8802 in the way 1870 before 6440 you to search you out 8446 z8800 a place 4725 to pitch your tents 2583 z8800 in, in fire 784 by night, 3915 to shew 7200 z8687 you by what x834 way 1870 ye should goe, y3212 z8799 x1980 and in a cloud 6051 by day. 3119

 1:34 And the LORD 3068 heard 8085 z8799 x853 the voice 6963 of your words, 1697 and was wroth, 7107 z8799 and sware, 7650 z8735 saying, 559 z8800

 1:35 Surely x518 there shall not one 376 of these x428 men y582 x376 of this x2088 euill 7451 generation 1755 see 7200 z8799 x853 that good 2896 land, 776 which x834 I sware 7650 z8738 to giue 5414 z8800 vnto your fathers: 1

 1:36 Saue 2108 Caleb 3612 the sonne 1121 of Iephunneh, 3312 he x1931 shall see 7200 z8799 it, and to him will I giue 5414 z8799 x853 the land 776 that 834 he hath troden x1869 vpon, y1869 z8804 and to his children, 1121 because x3282 x834 hee hath wholly 4390 z8765 followed 310 the LORD. 3068

 1:37 Also x1571 the LORD 3068 was angry 599 z8694 with me for your sakes, 1558 saying, 559 z8800 Thou x859 also x1571 shalt not x3808 goe y935 z8799 in x935 thither. 8033

 1:38 [But] Ioshua 3091 the sonne 1121 of Nun, 5126 which standeth 5975 z8802 before 6440 thee, he x1931 shall goe in 935 z8799 thither. x8033 Encourage 2388 z8761 him: for x3588 he x1931 shall cause x853 Israel 3478 to inherite 5157 z8686 it.

 1:39 Moreouer, your litle ones, 2945 which x834 ye said 559 z8804 should be x1961 a pray, 957 and your children, 1121 which x834 in that day 3117 had no knowledge 3045 z8804 x3808 betweene good 2896 and euil, 7451 they x1992 shall goe in 935 z8799 thither; x8033 and vnto them will I giue 5414 z8799 it, and they x1992 shall possesse 3423 z8799 it.

 1:40 But as for you, x859 turne 6437 z8798 ye, and take your iourney 5265 z8798 into the wildernesse, 4057 by the way 1870 of the Red 5488 sea. 3220

 1:41 Then ye answered, 6030 z8799 and said 559 z8799 vnto x413 mee, Wee haue sinned 2398 z8804 against the LORD, 3068 we x587 will goe vp 5927 z8799 and fight, 3898 z8738 according to all x3605 that x834 the LORD 3068 our God 430 commanded 6680 z8765 vs. And when ye had girded y2296 z8799 on x2296 euery man 376 x853 his weapons 3627 of warre, 4421 yee were ready 1951 z8686 to goe vp 5927 z8800 into the hill. 2022

 1:42 And the LORD 3068 said 559 z8799 vnto x413 me, Say 559 z8798 vnto them, Goe not vp, 5927 z8799 x3808 neither x3808 fight, 3898 z8735 for x3588 I am not x369 among 7130 you: least x3808 ye be smitten 5062 z8735 before 6440 your enemies. 341 z8802

 1:43 So I spake 1696 z8762 vnto x413 you, and you would not x3808 heare, 8085 z8804 but rebelled y4784 z8686 against x4784 x853 the commandement 6310 of the LORD, 3068 and went y5927 z0 presumptuously y2102 z8686 vp 5927 z8799 x2102 into the hill. 2022

 1:44 And the Amorites 567 which dwelt 3427 z8802 in that x1931 mountaine, 2022 came out 3318 z8799 against 7125 z8800 you, and chased 7291 z8799 you, as x834 Bees 1682 doe, 6213 z8799 and destroyed 3807 z8686 you in Seir, 8165 euen vnto x5704 Hormah. 2767

 1:45 And ye returned 7725 z8799 and wept 1058 z8799 before 6440 the LORD; 3068 but the LORD 3068 would not x3808 hearken 8085 z8804 to your voyce, 6963 nor x3808 giue eare 238 z8689 vnto x413 you.

 1:46 So yee abode 3427 z8799 in Kadesh 6946 many 7227 dayes, 3117 according vnto the dayes 3117 that x834 ye abode 3427 z8804 [there].
