Deuteronomie 9

Moses dissuadeth them from the opinion of their own righteousness, by rehearsing their several rebellions.

 9:1 ¶ Heare, 8085 z8798 O Israel, 3478 thou x859 art to passe ouer 5674 z8802 x853 Iordan 3383 this day, 3117 to goe in, 935 z8800 to possesse 3423 z8800 nations 1471 greater 1419 & mightier 6099 then x4480 thy selfe, Cities 5892 great, 1419 and fenced vp 1219 z8803 to heauen, 8064

 9:2 A people 5971 great 1419 and tall, 7311 z8802 the children 1121 of the Anakims, 6062 whom x834 thou x859 knowest, 3045 z8804 and [of whom] thou x859 hast heard 8085 z8804 [say], Who x4310 can stand 3320 z8691 before 6440 the children 1121 of Anak? 6061

 9:3 Understand 3045 z8804 therefore this day, 3117 that x3588 the LORD 3068 thy God 430 [is] he, x1931 which goeth ouer 5674 z8802 before 6440 thee, as a consuming 398 z8802 fire: 784 he x1931 shall destroy 8045 z8686 them, and he x1931 shall bring them downe 3665 z8686 before thy face: 6440 So shalt thou driue them out, 3423 z8689 and destroy 6 z8689 them quickly, 4118 as x834 the LORD 3068 hath said 1696 z8765 vnto thee.

 9:4 Speake 559 z8799 not x408 thou in thine heart, 3824 after that the LORD 3068 thy God 430 hath cast them out 1920 z8800 x853 from before 6440 x4480 thee, saying, 559 z8800 For my righteousnesse 6666 the LORD 3068 hath brought mee in 935 z8689 to possesse 3423 z8800 x853 this x2063 land: 776 but for the wickednesse 7564 of these x428 nations, 1471 the LORD 3068 doeth driue them out 3423 z8688 from before 6440 x4480 thee.

 9:5 Not x3808 for thy righteousnesse, 6666 or for the vprightnesse 3476 of thine heart, 3824 doest thou x859 goe 935 z8802 to possesse 3423 z8800 x853 their land: 776 But x3588 for the wickednesse 7564 of these x428 nations 1471 the LORD 3068 thy God 430 doeth driue them out 3423 z8688 from before 6440 x4480 thee, and that x4616 he may performe 6965 z8687 x853 the word 1697 which x834 the LORD 3068 sware 7650 z8738 vnto thy fathers, 1 Abraham, 85 Isaac 3327 and Iacob. 3290

 9:6 Understand 3045 z8804 therefore, that x3588 the LORD 3068 thy God 430 giueth 5414 z8802 thee not x3808 x853 this x2063 good 2896 land 776 to possesse 3423 z8800 it, for thy righteousnesse; 6666 for x3588 thou x859 [art] a stiffe-necked 6203 7186 people. 5971

 9:7 ¶ Remember 2142 z8798 [and] forget 7911 z8799 not, x408 x853 how x834 thou prouokedst x7107 x853 the LORD 3068 thy God 430 to wrath y7107 z8689 in the wildernesse: 4057 from 4480 the day 3117 that x834 thou didst depart x3318 out y3318 z8804 of the land 776 x4480 of Egypt, 4714 vntill x5704 ye came 935 z8800 vnto x5704 this x2088 place, 4725 yee haue bene x1961 rebellious 4784 z8688 against 5973 the LORD. 3068

 9:8 Also in Horeb 2722 yee prouoked 7107 z0 x853 the LORD 3068 to wrath, y7107 z8689 so that the LORD 3068 was angry 599 z8691 with you, to haue destroyed 8045 z8687 you.

 9:9 When I was gone vp 5927 z8800 into the mount, 2022 to receiue 3947 z8800 the Tables 3871 of stone, 68 [euen] the Tables 3871 of the Couenant 1285 which x834 the LORD 3068 made 3772 z8804 with x5973 you, then I abode 3427 z8799 in the mount 2022 fortie 705 dayes, 3117 and fortie 705 nights, 3915 I neither x3808 did eate 398 z8804 bread, 3899 nor x3808 drinke 8354 z8804 water: 4325

 9:10 And the LORD 3068 deliuered 5414 z8799 vnto x413 me x853 two 8147 Tables 3871 of stone, 68 written 3789 z8803 with the finger 676 of God, 430 and on x5921 them [was written] according to all x3605 the words 1697 which x834 the LORD 3068 spake 1696 z8765 with x5973 you in the mount, 2022 out of the midst 8432 x4480 of fire, 784 in the day 3117 of the assembly. 6951

 9:11 And it came to passe x1961 at the end 7093 x4480 of fortie 705 dayes, 3117 and fortie 705 nights, 3915 [that] the LORD 3068 gaue 5414 z8804 x413 mee x853 the two 8147 Tables 3871 of stone, 68 [euen] the Tables 3871 of the Couenant. 1285

 9:12 And the LORD 3068 said 559 z8799 vnto x413 mee, Arise, 6965 z8798 get thee downe 3381 z8798 quickly 4118 from hence; x4480 x2088 for x3588 thy people 5971 which x834 thou hast brought foorth 3318 z8689 out of Egypt, 4714 x4480 haue corrupted 7843 z8765 [themselues]: they are quickly 4118 turned aside 5493 z8804 out of x4480 the way 1870 which x834 I commanded 6680 z8765 them; they haue made 6213 z8804 them a molten image. 4541

 9:13 Furthermore, the LORD 3068 spake 559 z8799 vnto x413 me, saying, 559 z8800 I haue seene 7200 z8804 x853 this x2088 people, 5971 and behold, x2009 it x1931 is a stifnecked 6203 7186 people. 5971

 9:14 Let me alone, 7503 z8685 x4480 that I may destroy 8045 z8686 them, and blot out 4229 z8799 x853 their name 8034 from vnder x4480 x8478 heauen: 8064 and I will make 6213 z8799 of y854 thee a nation 1471 mightier 6099 and greater 7227 then x4480 they.

 9:15 So I turned 6437 z8799 and came downe 3381 z8799 from x4480 the mount, 2022 and the mount 2022 burned 1197 z8802 with fire: 784 and the two 8147 Tables 3871 of the Couenant 1285 were in x5921 my two 8147 hands. 3027

 9:16 And I looked, 7200 z8799 and behold, x2009 ye had sinned 2398 z8804 against the LORD 3068 your God, 430 [and] had made 6213 z8804 you a molten 4541 calfe: 5695 ye had turned aside 5493 z8804 quickly 4118 out of x4480 the way 1870 which x834 the LORD 3068 had commanded 6680 z8765 you.

 9:17 And I tooke 8610 z8799 the two 8147 Tables, 3871 and cast 7993 z8686 them out of 5921 x4480 my two 8147 hands, 3027 and brake 7665 z8762 them before your eyes. 5869

 9:18 And I fell downe 5307 z8691 before 6440 the LORD, 3068 as at the first, 7223 fortie 705 dayes 3117 and fortie 705 nights, 3915 I did neither x3808 eate 398 z8804 bread 3899 nor x3808 drinke 8354 z8804 water, 4325 because of x5921 all x3605 your sinnes 2403 which x834 ye sinned, 2398 z8804 in doing 6213 z8800 wickedly 7451 in the sight 5869 of the LORD, 3068 to prouoke him to anger. 3707 z8687

 9:19 (For x3588 I was afraid 3025 z8804 of 6440 x4480 the anger, 639 and whot displeasure 2534 wherewith x834 the LORD 3068 was wroth 7107 z8804 against x5921 you, to destroy 8045 z8687 you.) But the LORD 3068 hearkned 8085 z8799 vnto x413 me at that x1931 time 6471 also. x1571

 9:20 And the LORD 3068 was very y3966 angry 599 z8694 x3966 with Aaron, 175 to haue destroyed 8045 z8687 him: And I prayed 6419 z8691 for x1157 Aaron 175 also x1571 the same x1931 time. 6256

 9:21 And I tooke 3947 z8804 your sinne, 2403 x853 the calfe 5695 which x834 ye had made, 6213 z8804 and burnt 8313 z8799 it with fire, 784 and stamped 3807 z8799 it, [and] ground 2912 z8800 it very small, 3190 z8687 euen vntill x5704 it x834 was as small 1854 z8804 as dust: 6083 and I cast 7993 z8686 x853 the dust 6083 therof into x413 the brooke 5158 that descended x3381 out y3381 z8802 of x4480 the mount. 2022

 9:22 And at Taberah, 8404 and at Massah, 4532 and at Kibroth-Hattaauah, 6914 ye prouoked x7107 x853 the LORD 3068 to wrath. y7107 z8688

 9:23 Likewise when the LORD 3068 sent 7971 z8800 you from Kadesh Barnea, 6947 x4480 saying, 559 z8800 Goe vp 5927 z8798 and possesse 3423 z8798 x853 the land 776 which x834 I haue giuen 5414 z8804 you, then you rebelled y4784 z8686 against x4784 x853 the commandement 6310 of the LORD 3068 your God, 430 and ye beleeued 539 z8689 him not, x3808 nor x3808 hearkened 8085 z8804 to his voyce. 6963

 9:24 You haue bin x1961 rebellious 4784 z8688 against x5973 the LORD, 3068 from the day 3117 x4480 that I knew 3045 z8800 you.

 9:25 Thus I fell downe 5307 z8691 before 6440 the LORD 3068 x853 fourtie 705 dayes, 3117 and fourtie 705 nights, 3915 as x834 I fel downe 5307 z8694 [at the first], because x3588 the LORD 3068 had said, 559 z8804 he would destroy 8045 z8687 you.

 9:26 I prayed 6419 z8691 therefore vnto x413 the LORD, 3068 and said, 559 z8799 O Lord 136 GOD, 3069 destroy 7843 z8686 not x408 thy people, 5971 and thine inheritance, 5159 which x834 thou hast redeemed 6299 z8804 through thy greatnes, 1433 which x834 thou hast brought foorth 3318 z8689 out of Egypt, 4714 x4480 with a mightie 2389 hand. 3027

 9:27 Remember 2142 z8798 thy seruants, 5650 Abraham, 85 Isaac, 3327 and Iacob, 3290 looke 6437 z8799 not x408 vnto x413 the stubburnnesse 7190 of this x2088 people, 5971 nor to x413 their wickednes, 7562 nor to x413 their sinne: 2403

 9:28 Lest x6435 the land 776 whence x834 x4480 x8034 thou broughtest vs out, 3318 z8689 say, 559 z8799 Because the LORD 3068 was not able 3201 z8800 x4480 x1097 to bring 935 z8687 them into x413 the land 776 which x834 hee promised 1696 z8765 them, and because hee hated 8135 x4480 them, hee hath brought them out, 3318 z8689 to slay 4191 z8687 them in the wildernesse. 4057

 9:29 Yet they x1992 are thy people, 5971 and thine inheritance 5159 which x834 thou broughtest out 3318 z8689 by thy mightie 1419 power, 3581 and by thy stretched out 5186 z8803 arme. 2220
