Ezekiel 18

1 God reproveth the unjust parable of sour grapes. 5 He sheweth how he dealeth with a just father: 10 with a wicked son of a just father: 14 with a just son of a wicked father: 19 with a wicked man repenting: 24 with a just man revolting. 25 He defendeth his justice, 31 and exhorteth to repentance.

 18:1 ¶ And the word 1697 of ye LORD 3068 came x1961 vnto x413 me againe, saying; 559 z8800

 18:2 What x4100 meane ye that yee x859 vse 4911 z8802 this x2088 x853 prouerbe 4912 concerning x5921 the land 127 of Israel, 3478 saying, 559 z8800 The fathers 1 haue eaten 398 z8799 sowre grapes, 1155 and the childrens 1121 teeth 8127 are set on edge? 6949 z8799

 18:3 As I x589 liue, 2416 saith 5002 z8803 the Lord 136 GOD, 3069 yee shall not x518 haue x1961 [occasion] any more x5750 to vse 4911 z8800 this x2088 prouerbe 4912 in Israel. 3478

 18:4 Behold, x2005 all x3605 soules 5315 are mine, as the soule 5315 of the father, 1 so also the soule 5315 of the sonne 1121 is mine: the soule 5315 that sinneth, 2398 z8802 it x1931 shall die. 4191 z8799

 18:5 ¶ But if x3588 a man 376 be x1961 iust, 6662 and do 6213 z8804 that which is lawfull 4941 and right: 6666

 18:6 And hath not x3808 eaten 398 z8804 vpon x413 the mountaines, 2022 neither x3808 hath lift vp 5375 z8804 his eyes 5869 to x413 the idoles 1544 of the house 1004 of Israel, 3478 neither x3808 hath defiled 2930 z8765 his neighbours 7453 wife, 802 neither x3808 hath come neere 7126 z8799 to x413 a menstruous 5079 woman, 802

 18:7 And hath not x3808 oppressed 3238 z8686 any, 376 [but] hath restored 7725 z8686 to the debtourhis 2326 pledge, 2258 hath spoiled 1497 z8799 none x3808 by violence, 1500 hath giuen 5414 z8799 his bread 3899 to the hungrie, 7457 and hath couered 3680 z8762 the naked 5903 with a garment, 899

 18:8 He [that] hath not x3808 giuen foorth 5414 z8799 vpon vsurie, 5392 neither x3808 hath taken 3947 z8799 any increase, 8636 that hath withdrawen 7725 z8686 his hand 3027 from iniquitie, 5766 x4480 hath executed 6213 z8799 true 571 iudgement 4941 betweene x996 man 376 and man, 376

 18:9 Hath walked 1980 z8762 in my Statutes, 2708 and hath kept 8104 z8804 my Iudgements 4941 to deale 6213 z8800 truely; 571 hee x1931 [is] iust, 6662 hee shall surely y2421 z8800 liue, 2421 z8799 saith 5002 z8803 the Lord 136 GOD. 3069

 18:10 ¶ If hee beget 3205 z8689 a sonne 1121 that is a robber, 6530 a shedder 8210 z8802 of blood, 1818 and that doth 6213 z8804 the like 251 to any one 259 x4480 of these x4480 x428 things,

 18:11 And that x1931 doeth 6213 z8804 not x3808 x853 any x3605 of those x428 [duties], bnt x3588 euen x1571 hath eaten 398 z8804 vpon x413 the mountains, 2022 and defiled 2930 z8765 his neighbours 7453 wife, 802

 18:12 Hath oppressed 3238 z8689 the poore 6041 and needie, 34 hath spoiled 1497 z8804 by violence, 1500 hath not x3808 restored 7725 z8686 the pledge, 2258 and hath lift vp 5375 z8804 his eyes 5869 to x413 the idoles, 1544 hath committed 6213 z8804 abomination, 8441

 18:13 Hath giuen foorth 5414 z8804 vpon vsurie, 5392 and hath taken 3947 z8804 encrease: 8636 shall he then liue? y2425 z8804 x2421 hee shall not x3808 liue: 2421 z8799 hee hath done 6213 z8804 x853 all x3605 these x428 abominations, 8441 hee shall surely y4191 z8800 die, 4191 z8714 his blood 1818 shalbe x1961 vpon him.

 18:14 ¶ Now loe, x2009 [if] hee beget 3205 z8689 a sonne 1121 that seeth 7200 z8799 x853 all x3605 his fathers 1 sinnes 2403 which x834 he hath done, 6213 z8804 and considereth, 7200 z8799 and doth 6213 z8799 not x3808 such like, y2004

 18:15 [That] hath not x3808 eaten 398 z8804 vpon x5921 the mountaines, 2022 neither x3808 hath lift vp 5375 z8804 his eyes 5869 to x413 the idoles 1544 of the house 1004 of Israel, 3478 hath not x3808 defiled 2930 z8765 his neighbours 7453 x853 wife, 802

 18:16 Neither x3808 hath oppressed 3238 z8689 any, 376 hath not x3808 withholden 2254 z8804 the pledge, 2258 neither x3808 hath spoiled 1497 z8804 by violence, 1500 [but] hath giuen 5414 z8804 his bread 3899 to the hungry, 7457 and hath couered 3680 z8765 the naked 5903 with a garment, 899

 18:17 [That] hath taken off 7725 z8689 his hand 3027 from the poore, 6041 x4480 [that] hath not x3808 receiued 3947 z8804 vsurie 5392 nor increase, 8636 hath executed 6213 z8804 my Iudgements, 4941 hath walked 1980 z8804 in my Statutes, 2708 he x1931 shall not x3808 die 4191 z8799 for the iniquitie 5771 of his father, 1 he shall surely y2421 z8800 liue. 2421 z8799

 18:18 As for his father, 1 because x3588 hee cruelly y6233 oppressed, 6231 z8804 x6233 spoiled 1497 z8804 his brother 251 by violence, 1499 and did 6213 z8804 that which x834 [is] not x3808 good 2896 among 8432 his people, 5971 loe, x2009 euen he shall die 4191 z8801 in his iniquitie. 5771

 18:19 ¶ Yet say 559 z8804 yee, Why? x4069 doeth not x3808 the sonne 1121 beare 5375 z8804 the iniquitie 5771 of the father? 1 when the sonne 1121 hath done 6213 z8804 that which is lawfull 4941 and right, 6666 [and] hath kept 8104 z8804 x853 all x3605 my Statutes, 2708 and hath done 6213 z8799 them, he shall surely y2421 z8800 liue. 2421 z8799

 18:20 The soule 5315 that sinneth, 2398 z8802 it x1931 shal die: 4191 z8799 the sonne 1121 shall not x3808 beare 5375 z8799 the iniquitie 5771 of the father, 1 neither x3808 shal the father 1 beare 5375 z8799 the iniquitie 5771 of the sonne; 1121 the righteousnesse 6666 of the righteous 6662 shall bee x1961 vpon x5921 him, and the wickednesse 7564 of the wicked 7563 shalbe x1961 vpon x5921 him.

 18:21 But if x3588 the wicked 7563 will turne 7725 z8799 from all x4480 x3605 his sinnes 2403 that x834 he hath committed 6213 z8804 and keepe 8104 z8804 x853 all x3605 my statutes, 2708 and doe 6213 z8804 that which is lawful 4941 and right, 6666 he shall surely y2421 z8800 liue, 2421 z8799 he shall not x3808 die. 4191 z8799

 18:22 All x3605 his transgressions 6588 that x834 he hath committed, 6213 z8804 they shall not x3808 be mentioned 2142 z8735 vnto him: in his righteousnesse, 6666 that x834 he hath done, 6213 z8804 he shall liue. 2421 z8799

 18:23 Haue I any pleasure y2654 z8799 at all 2654 z8800 that the wicked 7563 should die, 4194 saith 5002 z8803 the Lord 136 GOD? 3069 [And] not x3808 that he should returne 7725 z8800 from his wayes, 1870 x4480 and liue? 2421 z8804

 18:24 ¶ But when the righteous 6662 turneth away 7725 z8800 fro his righteousnes, 6666 x4480 & committeth 6213 z8804 iniquitie, 5766 [and] doth 6213 z8799 according to all x3605 the abominations 8441 that x834 the wicked 7563 man doth, 6213 z8804 shall he liue? y2425 z8804 x2421 all x3605 his righteousnesse 6666 that x834 he hath done, 6213 z8804 shall not x3808 be mentioned: 2142 z8735 in his trespasse y4603 z8804 x4604 that x834 he hath trespassed, y4604 x4603 and in his sinne 2403 that x834 he hath sinned, 2398 z8804 in them shall he die. 4191 z8799

 18:25 ¶ Yet yee say; 559 z8804 The way 1870 of the Lord 136 is not equall. 8505 z8735 x3808 Heare 8085 z8798 now, x4994 O house 1004 of Israel; 3478 Is not x3808 my way 1870 equall? 8505 z8735 are not x3808 your wayes 1870 vnequall? 8505 z8735 x3808

 18:26 When a righteous 6662 man turneth away 7725 z8800 from his righteousnesse, 6666 x4480 & committeth 6213 z8804 iniquitie, 5766 and dieth 4191 z8804 in x5921 them; for his iniquitie 5766 that x834 he hath done, 6213 z8804 shall he die. 4191 z8799

 18:27 Againe, when the wicked 7563 man turneth away 7725 z8800 from his wickednesse 7564 x4480 that x834 he hath committed, 6213 z8804 and doth 6213 z8799 that which is lawfull 4941 and right, 6666 he x1931 shall saue y2421 z0 his soule y5315 aliue. 2421 z8762 x853 x5315

 18:28 Because he considereth 7200 z8799 and turneth away 7725 z8799 from all x4480 x3605 his transgressions 6588 that x834 he hath committed, 6213 z8804 he shall surely y2421 z8800 liue, 2421 z8799 he shall not x3808 die. 4191 z8799

 18:29 Yet saith 559 z8804 the house 1004 of Israel; 3478 The way 1870 of the Lord 136 is not equall. 8505 z8735 x3808 O house 1004 of Israel, 3478 are not x3808 my wayes 1870 equall? 8505 z8735 are not x3808 your wayes 1870 vnequall? 8505 z8735 x3808

 18:30 Therefore x3651 I will iudge 8199 z8799 you, O house 1004 of Israel, 3478 euery one 376 according to his wayes, 1870 saith 5002 z8803 the Lord 136 GOD; 3069 repent, 7725 z8798 and turne 7725 z8685 your selues from all x4480 x3605 your transgressions: 6588 so iniquitie 5771 shall not x3808 be x1961 your ruine. 4383

 18:31 ¶ Cast away 7993 z8685 from x4480 x5921 you x853 all x3605 your transgressions, 6588 wherby x834 yee haue transgressed, 6586 z8804 and make 6213 z8798 you a new 2319 heart 3820 and a new 2319 spirit: 7307 for why x4100 will yee die, 4191 z8799 O house 1004 of Israel? 3478

 18:32 For x3588 I haue no pleasure 2654 z8799 x3808 in ye death 4194 of him that dieth, 4191 z8801 saith 5002 z8803 the Lord 136 GOD: 3069 wherefore turne 7725 z8685 your selues, & liue 2421 z8798 ye.
