Prouerbs 24

1 From this chapter to the five and twentieth are sundry observations of moral virtues, and their contrary vices.

 24:1 ¶ Be not x408 thou enuious 7065 z8762 against euill 7451 men, y582 x376 neither x408 desire 183 z8691 to be x1961 with x854 them.

 24:2 For x3588 their heart 3820 studieth 1897 z8799 destruction, 7701 and their lippes 8193 talke 1696 z8762 of mischiefe. 5999

 24:3 Through wisedome 2451 is an house 1004 builded, 1129 z8735 and by vnderstanding 8394 it is established. 3559 z8709

 24:4 And by knowledge 1847 shall the chambers 2315 bee filled 4390 z8735 with all x3605 precious 3368 and pleasant 5273 riches. 1952

 24:5 A wise 2450 man 1397 [is] strong, 5797 yea a man 376 of knowledge 1847 encreaseth 553 z8764 strength. 3581

 24:6 For x3588 by wise counsell 8458 thou shalt make 6213 z8799 thy warre: 4421 and in multitude 7230 of counsellers 3289 z8802 [there is] safetie. 8668

 24:7 Wisedome 2454 [is] too high 7311 z8802 for a foole: 191 he openeth 6605 z8799 not x3808 his mouth 6310 in the gate. 8179

 24:8 He that deuiseth 2803 z8764 to doe euill, 7489 z8687 shall be called 7121 z8799 a mischieuous 4209 person. 1167

 24:9 The thought 2154 of foolishnesse 200 [is] sinne: 2403 and the scorner 3887 z8801 [is] an abomination 8441 to men. 120

 24:10 [If] thou faint 7503 z8694 in the day 3117 of aduersitie, 6869 thy strength 3581 [is] small: 6862

 24:11 If x518 thou forbeare 2820 z8799 to deliuer 5337 z8685 them that are drawen 3947 z8803 vnto death, 4194 and those that are ready 4131 z8801 to be slaine: 2027

 24:12 If x3588 thou sayest, 559 z8799 Behold, x2005 we knew 3045 z8804 it x2088 not: x3808 doth not x3808 he that pondereth 8505 z8802 the heart, y3826 x3820 consider 995 z8799 [it]? and he that keepeth 5341 z8802 thy soule, 5315 doth [not] he x1931 know 3045 z8799 [it]? and shall [not] hee render 7725 z8689 to euery man 120 according to his workes? 6467

 24:13 My sonne, 1121 eate 398 z8798 thou honie, 1706 because x3588 it [is] good, 2896 and the honie combe, 5317 [which is] sweete 4966 to x5921 thy taste. 2441

 24:14 So x3651 [shall] the knowledge 3045 z8798 of wisedome 2451 [be] vnto thy soule: 5315 when x518 thou hast found 4672 z8804 [it], then there shall be 3426 a reward, 319 and thy expectation 8615 shall not x3808 be cut off. 3772 z8735

 24:15 Lay not waite, 693 z8799 x408 (O wicked 7563 man) against the dwelling 5116 of the righteous: 6662 spoile 7703 z8762 not x408 his resting place. 7258

 24:16 For x3588 a iust 6662 man falleth 5307 z8799 seuen x7651 times, y7651 and riseth vp [againe]: 6965 z8804 but the wicked 7563 shall fall 3782 z8735 into mischiefe. 7451

 24:17 Reioyce 8055 z8799 not x408 when thine enemie 341 z8802 falleth: 5307 z8800 and let not x408 thine heart 3820 be glad 1523 z8799 when he stumbleth: 3782 z8736

 24:18 Lest x6435 the LORD 3068 see 7200 z8799 [it], and it displease 7489 5869 z8804 him, and hee turne away 7725 z8689 his wrath 639 from x4480 x5921 him.

 24:19 Fret y2734 z8691 not thy selfe x408 x2734 because of euill 7489 z8688 men; neither x408 be thou enuious 7065 z8762 at the wicked. 7563

 24:20 For x3588 there shall be x1961 no x3808 reward 319 to the euill 7451 man: the candle 5216 of the wicked 7563 shall be put out. 1846 z8799

 24:21 My sonne, 1121 feare 3372 z8798 thou x853 the LORD, 3068 and the king: 4428 and medle 6148 z8691 not x408 with x5973 them that are giuen to change. 8138 z8802

 24:22 For x3588 their calamity 343 shall rise 6965 z8799 suddenly, 6597 and who x4310 knoweth 3045 z8802 the ruine 6365 of them both? 8147

 24:23 These x428 things also x1571 [belong] to the wise: 2450 It is not x1077 good 2896 to haue respect 5234 z8687 of persons 6440 in iudgement. 4941

 24:24 He that sayth 559 z8802 vnto the wicked, 7563 Thou x859 [art] righteous, 6662 him shall the people 5971 curse; 5344 z8799 nations 3816 shall abhorre 2194 z8799 him:

 24:25 But to them that rebuke 3198 z8688 him shall be delight, 5276 z8799 and a good 2896 blessing 1293 shall come 935 z8799 vpon x5921 them.

 24:26 [Euery man] shall kisse 5401 z8799 [his] lippes 8193 that giueth 7725 z8688 a right 5228 answere. 1697

 24:27 Prepare 3559 z8685 thy worke 4399 without, 2351 and make it fit 6257 z8761 for thy selfe in the field; 7704 and afterwards 310 build 1129 z8804 thine house. 1004

 24:28 Be x1961 not x408 a witnesse 5707 against thy neighbour 7453 without cause: 2600 and deceiue 6601 z8765 not with thy lippes. 8193

 24:29 Say 559 z8799 not, x408 I will doe 6213 z8799 so x3651 to him as x834 he hath done 6213 z8804 to mee: I will render 7725 z8686 to the man 376 according to his worke. 6467

 24:30 I went 5674 z8804 by x5921 the field 7704 of the slouthfull, 376 6102 and by x5921 the vineyard 3754 of the man 120 voyd 2638 of vnderstanding: 3820

 24:31 And loe, x2009 it was all x3605 growen ouer 5927 z8804 with thornes, 7063 [and] nettles 2738 had couered 3680 z8795 the face 6440 thereof, and the stone 68 wall 1444 therof was broken downe: 2040 z8738

 24:32 Then I x595 saw, 2372 z8799 [and] considered it well, 7896 3820 z8799 I looked 7200 z8804 vpon [it, and] receiued 3947 z8804 instruction. 4148

 24:33 Yet a little 4592 sleepe, 8142 a little 4592 slumber, 8572 a little 4592 folding 2264 of the handes 3027 to sleepe: 7901 z8800

 24:34 So shall thy pouertie 7389 come, 935 z8804 [as] one that traueileth, 1980 z8693 and thy want, 4270 as an armed 4043 man. 376
