Prouerbs 18

1 From this chapter to the five and twentieth are sundry observations of moral virtues, and their contrary vices.

 18:1 ¶ Through desire 8378 a man hauing separated y6504 z8737 himselfe, x6504 seeketh 1245 z8762 [and] intermedleth 1566 z8691 with all x3605 wisedome. 8454

 18:2 A foole 3684 hath no x3808 delight 2654 z8799 in vnderstanding, 8394 but x3588 x518 that his heart 3820 may discouer y1540 z8692 it selfe. x1540

 18:3 When the wicked 7563 commeth, 935 z8800 then commeth 935 z8804 also x1571 contempt, 937 and with x5973 ignominie, 7036 reproch. 2781

 18:4 The words 1697 of a mans 376 mouth, 6310 [are as] deepe 6013 waters, 4325 [and] the well-spring 4726 of wisedome 2451 [as] a flowing 5042 z8802 brooke. 5158

 18:5 It is not x3808 good 2896 to accept 5375 z8800 the person 6440 of the wicked, 7563 to ouerthrowe 5186 z8687 the righteous 6662 in iudgement. 4941

 18:6 A fooles 3684 lips 8193 enter 935 z8799 into contention, 7379 and his mouth 6310 calleth 7121 z8799 for strokes. 4112

 18:7 A fooles 3684 mouth 6310 [is] his destruction, 4288 and his lips 8193 [are] the snare 4170 of his soule. 5315

 18:8 The words 1697 of a tale bearer 5372 [are] as wounds, 3859 z8693 and they x1992 goe downe 3381 z8804 into the innermost parts 2315 of the belly. 990

 18:9 Hee x1931 also x1571 that is slouthful 7503 z8693 in his worke, 4399 is brother 251 to him that is a great 1167 waster. y7843 z8688 x4889

 18:10 The name 8034 of the LORD 3068 [is] a a strong 5797 tower: 4026 the righteous 6662 runneth 7323 z8799 into it, and is safe. 7682 z8738

 18:11 The rich mans 6223 wealth 1952 [is] his strong 5797 citie: 7151 and as an high 7682 z8737 wall 2346 in his owne conceit. 4906

 18:12 Before 6440 destruction 7667 the heart 3820 of man 376 is haughtie, 1361 z8799 and before 6440 honour 3519 [is] humilitie. 6038

 18:13 He that answereth 7725 z8688 a matter 1697 before x2962 he heareth 8085 z8799 [it], it x1931 is folly 200 and shame 3639 vnto him.

 18:14 The spirit 7307 of a man 376 will sustaine 3557 z8770 his infirmitie: 4245 but a wounded 5218 spirit 7307 who x4310 can beare? 5375 z8799

 18:15 The heart 3820 of the prudent 995 z8737 getteth 7069 z8799 knowledge; 1847 and the eare 241 of the wise 2450 seeketh 1245 z8762 knowledge. 1847

 18:16 A mans 120 gift 4976 maketh roome 7337 z8686 for him, & bringeth 5148 z8686 him before 6440 great x1419 men. y1419

 18:17 He that [is] first 7223 in his owne cause, 7379 [seemeth] iust; 6662 but his neighbour 7453 commeth 935 z8804 z8675 z8799 and searcheth 2713 z8804 him.

 18:18 The lot 1486 causeth contentions 4079 to cease, 7673 z8686 and parteth 6504 z8686 betweene x996 the mighty. 6099

 18:19 A brother 251 offended 6586 z8737 is [harder to be wonne] then a strong 5797 citie: 7151 x4480 and [their] contentions 4079 z8675 y4066 [are] like the barres 1280 of a castle. 759

 18:20 A mans 376 belly 990 shall be satisfied 7646 z8799 with the fruite 6529 x4480 of his mouth; 6310 [and] with the increase 8393 of his lippes 8193 shall he be filled. 7646 z8799

 18:21 Death 4194 and life 2416 [are] in the power 3027 of the tongue; 3956 and they that loue 157 z8802 it shall eate 398 z8799 the fruite 6529 thereof.

 18:22 [Who so] findeth 4672 z8804 a wife, 802 findeth 4672 z8804 a good 2896 thing, and obtaineth 6329 z8686 fauour 7522 of the LORD. 3068 x4480

 18:23 The poore 7326 z8802 vseth 1696 z8762 intreaties, 8469 but the rich 6223 answereth 6030 z8799 roughly. 5794
