Prouerbs 20

1 From this chapter to the five and twentieth are sundry observations of moral virtues, and their contrary vices.

 20:1 ¶ Wine 3196 [is] a mocker, 3887 z8801 strong drinke 7941 is raging: 1993 z8802 and whosoeuer x3605 is deceiued 7686 z8802 thereby, is not x3808 wise. 2449 z8799

 20:2 The feare 367 of a king, 4428 [is as] the roaring 5099 of a Lion: 3715 [who so] prouoketh him to anger, 5674 z8693 sinneth 2398 z8802 [against] his owne soule. 5315

 20:3 [It is] an honour 3519 for a man 376 to cease 7674 from strife: 7379 x4480 but euery x3605 foole 191 will be medling. 1566 z8691

 20:4 The sluggard 6102 will not x3808 plow 2790 z8799 by reason of the cold; 2779 x4480 therefore shall he begge 7592 z8804 z8675 z8799 in haruest, 7105 and haue nothing. x369

 20:5 Counsell 6098 in the heart 3820 of man 376 is [like] deepe 6013 water: 4325 but a man 376 of vnderstanding 8394 will draw it out. 1802 z8799

 20:7 The iust 6662 man walketh 1980 z8693 in his integritie: 8537 his children 1121 [are] blessed 835 after 310 him.

 20:10 Diuers weights, 68 [and] diuers measures, 374 both 8147 of them [are] alike 1571 abomination 8441 to the LORD. 3068

 20:11 Euen x1571 a childe 5288 is knowen 5234 z8691 by his doings, 4611 whether x518 his worke 6467 [be] pure, 2134 and whether x518 [it be] right. 3477

 20:13 Loue 157 z8799 not x408 sleepe, 8142 lest x6435 thou come to pouertie: 3423 z8735 open 6491 z8798 thine eyes, 5869 [and] thou shalt be satisfied 7646 z8798 with bread. 3899

 20:18 Euery purpose 4284 is established 3559 z8735 by counsell: 6098 and with good aduice 8458 make 6213 z8798 warre. 4421

 20:19 He that goeth about 1980 z8802 [as] a tale-bearer, 7400 reueileth 1540 z8802 secrets; 5475 therefore meddle 6148 z8691 not x3808 with him that flattereth 6601 z8802 with his lippes. 8193

 20:20 Who so curseth 7043 z8764 his father 1 or his mother, 517 his lampe 5216 shall be put out 1846 z8799 in obscure 380 z8676 darkenesse. 2822

 20:23 Diuers waights 68 [are] an abomination 8441 vnto the LORD: 3068 and a false 4820 ballance 3976 [is] not x3808 good. 2896

 20:24 Mans 1397 goings 4703 [are] of the LORD; 3068 x4480 how x4100 can a man 120 then vnderstand 995 z8799 his owne way? 1870

 20:25 [It is] a snare 4170 to the man 120 [who] deuoureth 3216 z8804 that which is holy: 6944 and after 310 vowes, 5088 to make inquirie. 1239 z8763

 20:26 A wise 2450 king 4428 scattereth 2219 z8764 the wicked, 7563 & bringeth 7725 z8686 the wheele 212 ouer x5921 them.

 20:28 Mercy 2617 and trueth 571 preserue 5341 z8799 the king: 4428 and his throne 3678 is vpholden 5582 z8804 by mercy. 2617
