Prouerbs 1

1 The use of the proverbs. 7 An exhortation to fear God, and believe his Word. 10 To avoid the enticings of sinners. 20 Wisdom complaineth of her contempt. 24 She threateneth her contemners.

 1:2 To knowe 3045 z8800 wisedome 2451 and instruction, 4148 to perceiue 995 z8687 the words 561 of vnderstanding, 998

 1:3 To receiue 3947 z8800 the instruction 4148 of wisdome, 7919 z8687 iustice, 6664 and iudgement 4941 & equitie, 4339

 1:4 To giue 5414 z8800 subtiltie 6195 to the simple, 6612 to the yong man 5288 knowledge 1847 and discretion. 4209

 1:5 A wise 2450 man wil heare, 8085 z8799 and wil increase 3254 z8686 learning: 3948 and a man of vnderstanding 995 z8737 shall attaine 7069 z8799 vnto wise counsels: 8458

 1:6 To vnderstand 995 z8687 a prouerbe, 4912 and the interpretation; 4426 the wordes 1697 of the wise, 2450 and their darke sayings. 2420

 1:7 ¶ The feare 3374 of the LORD 3068 [is] the beginning 7225 of knowledge: 1847 [but] fooles 191 despise 936 z8804 wisedome 2451 and instruction. 4148

 1:8 My sonne, 1121 heare 8085 z8798 the instruction 4148 of thy father, 1 and forsake 5203 z8799 not x408 the law 8451 of thy mother. 517

 1:9 For x3588 they x1992 [shall be] an ornament 3880 of grace 2580 vnto thy head, 7218 and chaines 6060 about thy necke. 1621

 1:10 ¶ My sonne, 1121 if x518 sinners 2400 entise 6601 z8762 thee, consent 14 z8799 thou not. x408

 1:11 If x518 they say, 559 z8799 Come y3212 z8798 x1980 with x854 vs, let vs lay wait 693 z8799 for blood, 1818 let vs lurke y6845 z8799 priuily x6845 for the innocent 5355 without cause: 2600

 1:12 Let vs swallow them vp 1104 z8799 aliue, 2416 as the graue, 7585 and whole, 8549 as those that goe downe 3381 z8802 into the pit: 953

 1:13 Wee shall finde 4672 z8799 all x3605 precious 3368 substance, 1952 wee shall fill 4390 z8762 our houses 1004 with spoile: 7998

 1:14 Cast y5307 z8686 in x5307 thy lot 1486 among 8432 vs, let vs all x3605 haue x1961 one 259 purse: 3599

 1:15 My sonne, 1121 walke y3212 z8799 x1980 not x408 thou in the way 1870 with x854 them; refraine 4513 z8798 thy foot 7272 from their path: 5410 x4480

 1:16 For x3588 their feete 7272 runne 7323 z8799 to euil, 7451 and make haste 4116 z8762 to shed 8210 z8800 blood. 1818

 1:18 And they x1992 lay wait 693 z8799 for their [owne] blood, 1818 they lurke priuily 6845 z8799 for their [owne] liues. 5315

 1:19 So x3651 [are] the waies 734 of euery one x3605 that is greedie 1214 z8802 of gaine: 1215 [which] taketh away 3947 z8799 x853 the life 5315 of the owners 1167 thereof.

 1:20 ¶ Wisedome 2454 crieth 7442 z8799 without, 2351 she vttereth 5414 z8799 her voice 6963 in the streets: 7339

 1:21 Shee crieth 7121 z8799 in the chiefe x7218 place y7218 of concourse, 1993 z8802 in the openings 6607 of the gates: 8179 in the city 5892 she vttereth 559 z8799 her words, 561 [saying],

 1:22 How long, x5704 x4970 ye simple ones, 6612 will ye loue 157 z8799 simplicitie? 6612 And the scorners 3887 z8801 delight 2530 z8804 in their scorning, 3944 and fooles 3684 hate 8130 z8799 knowledge? 1847

 1:23 Turne 7725 z8799 you at my reproofe: 8433 behold, x2009 I will powre out 5042 z8686 my spirit 7307 vnto you, I will make knowen 3045 z8686 my wordes 1697 vnto you.

 1:24 ¶ Because x3282 I haue called, 7121 z8804 and yee refused, 3985 z8762 I haue stretched out 5186 z8804 my hand, 3027 and no man x369 regarded: 7181 z8688

 1:25 But ye haue set at nought 6544 z8799 all x3605 my counsell, 6098 & would 14 z8804 none x3808 of my reproofe: 8433

 1:26 I x589 also x1571 will laugh 7832 z8799 at your calamitie, 343 I wil mocke 3932 z8799 when your feare 6343 commeth. 935 z8800

 1:27 When your feare 6343 commeth 935 z8800 as desolation, 7722 z8675 y7584 and your destruction 343 commeth 857 z8799 as a whirlewinde; 5492 when distresse 6869 and anguish 6695 commeth 935 z8800 vpon x5921 you:

 1:28 Then x227 shall they call y7121 z8799 vpon x7121 mee, but I will not x3808 answere; 6030 z8799 they shall seeke me early, 7836 z8762 but they shall not x3808 finde 4672 z8799 me:

 1:29 For that x8478 x3588 they hated 8130 z8804 knowledge, 1847 and did not x3808 choose 977 z8804 the feare 3374 of the LORD. 3068

 1:30 They would 14 z8804 none x3808 of my counsel: 6098 they despised 5006 z8804 all x3605 my reproofe. 8433

 1:31 Therefore shall they eate 398 z8799 of the fruite 6529 x4480 of their owne way, 1870 and be filled 7646 z8799 with their owne deuices. 4156 x4480

 1:32 For x3588 the turning away 4878 of the simple 6612 shall slay 2026 z8799 them, and the prosperity 7962 of fooles 3684 shall destroy 6 z8762 them.

 1:33 But who so hearkneth 8085 z8802 vnto mee, shall dwell 7931 z8799 safely, 983 and shall be quiet 7599 z8768 from feare 6343 x4480 of euill. 7451
