Genesis 48

1 Joseph with his sons visiteth his sick father. 2 Jacob strengtheneth himself to bless them. 3 He repeateth the promise. 5 He taketh Ephraim and Manasseh as his own. 7 He telleth Joseph of his mother's grave. 9 He blesseth Ephraim and Manasseh. 17 He preferreth the younger before the elder. 21 He prophesieth their return to Canaan.

 48:1 ¶ And it came to passe x1961 after 310 these x428 things, 1697 that one told 559 z8799 Ioseph, 3130 Behold, x2009 thy father 1 is sicke: 2470 z8802 and he tooke 3947 z8799 with x5973 him x853 his two 8147 sonnes, 1121 x853 Manasseh 4519 and Ephraim. 669

 48:2 And one told 5046 z8686 Iacob, 3290 and said, 559 z8799 Behold, x2009 thy sonne 1121 Ioseph 3130 commeth 935 z8802 vnto x413 thee: and Israel 3478 strengthened y2388 z8691 himselfe, x2388 and sate 3427 z8799 vpon x5921 the bed. 4296

 48:3 And Iacob 3290 saide 559 z8799 vnto x413 Ioseph, 3130 God 410 Almightie 7706 appeared 7200 z8738 vnto x413 mee at Luz 3870 in the land 776 of Canaan, 3667 and blessed 1288 z8762 mee,

 48:4 And said 559 z8799 vnto x413 me, Behold, x2009 I wil make thee fruitfull, 6509 z8688 and multiplie 7235 z8689 thee, and I will make 5414 z8804 of thee a multitude 6951 of people, 5971 and will giue 5414 z8804 x853 this x2063 land 776 to thy seede 2233 after x310 thee, y310 for an euerlasting 5769 possession. 272

 48:5 ¶ And now x6258 thy two 8147 sonnes, 1121 Ephraim 669 and Manasseh, 4519 which were borne 3205 z8737 vnto thee in the land 776 of Egypt, 4714 before 5704 I came 935 z8800 vnto x413 thee into Egypt, 4714 [are] mine: as Reuben 7205 and Simeon, 8095 they shalbe x1961 mine.

 48:6 And thy issue 4138 which x834 thou begettest 3205 z8689 after 310 them, shall be x1961 thine, and shall be called 7121 z8735 after 5921 the name 8034 of their brethren 251 in their inheritance. 5159

 48:7 And as for me, x589 when I came 935 z8800 from Padan, 6307 x4480 Rachel 7354 died 4191 z8804 by x5921 me in the land 776 of Canaan, 3667 in the way, 1870 when y5750 yet x5750 [there was] but a little 3530 way 776 to come 935 z8800 vnto Ephrath: 672 and I buried x6912 her y6912 z8799 there x8033 in the way 1870 of Ephrath, 672 the same x1931 is Bethlehem. 1035

 48:8 And Israel 3478 behelde 7200 z8799 Iosephs 3130 x853 sonnes, 1121 and said, 559 z8799 Who x4310 [are] these? x428

 48:9 And Ioseph 3130 said 559 z8799 vnto x413 his father, 1 They x1992 are my sonnes, 1121 whom x834 God 430 hath giuen 5414 z8804 me in this x2088 [place]: and he said, 559 z8799 Bring x3947 them, y3947 z8798 I pray thee, x4994 vnto x413 me, and I will blesse 1288 z8762 them.

 48:10 (Now the eyes 5869 of Israel 3478 were dimme 3513 z8804 for age, 2207 x4480 [so that] he could 3201 z8799 not x3808 see,) 7200 z8800 and hee brought them neere 5066 z8686 x853 vnto x413 him, and he kissed 5401 z8799 them, and imbraced 2263 z8762 them.

 48:11 And Israel 3478 said 559 z8799 vnto x413 Ioseph, 3130 I had not x3808 thought 6419 z8765 to see 7200 z8800 thy face: 6440 and loe, x2009 God 430 hath shewed 7200 z8689 me also x1571 x853 thy seed. 2233

 48:12 And Ioseph 3130 brought them out 3318 z8686 x853 from betweene 5973 x4480 his knees, 1290 and hee bowed y7812 z8691 himselfe x7812 with his face 639 to the earth. 776

 48:13 And Ioseph 3130 tooke 3947 z8799 x853 them both, 8147 x853 Ephraim 669 in his right hand, 3225 toward Israels 3478 left hand, 8040 x4480 and Manasseh 4519 in his left hand 8040 towards Israels 3478 right hand, 3225 x4480 and brought [them] neere 5066 z8686 vnto x413 him.

 48:14 And Israel 3478 stretched out 7971 z8799 x853 his right hand, 3225 and layd 7896 z8799 [it] vpon x5921 Ephraims 669 head 7218 who x1931 [was] the yonger; 6810 and his left hand 8040 vpon x5921 Manassehs 4519 head, 7218 guiding y7919 z0 his hands y3027 wittingly: 7919 z8765 x853 x3027 for x3588 Manasseh 4519 [was] the first borne. 1060

 48:15 ¶ And he blessed 1288 z8762 x853 Ioseph 3130 and said, 559 z8799 God 430 before 6440 whom x834 my fathers 1 Abraham 85 and Isaac 3327 did walke, 1980 z8694 the God 430 which fedde 7462 z8802 mee all my life long 5750 x4480 vnto x5704 this x2088 day, 3117

 48:16 The Angel 4397 which redeemed 1350 z8802 mee from all x4480 x3605 euill, 7451 blesse 1288 z8762 x853 the laddes, 5288 and let my name 8034 be named 7121 z8735 on them, and the name 8034 of my fathers 1 Abraham 85 and Isaac, 3327 and let them grow 1711 z8799 into a multitude 7230 in the midst 7130 of the earth. 776

 48:17 And when Ioseph 3130 saw 7200 z8799 that x3588 his father 1 laide 7896 z8799 his right 3225 hand 3027 vpon x5921 the head 7218 of Ephraim, 669 it displeased 5869 y3415 z8799 x7489 him: and he held vp 8551 z8799 his fathers 1 hand, 3027 to remoue 5493 z8687 it from x4480 x5921 Ephraims 669 head, 7218 vnto x5921 Manassehs 4519 head. 7218

 48:18 And Ioseph 3130 saide 559 z8799 vnto x413 his father, 1 Not x3808 so x3651 my father: 1 for x3588 this x2088 [is] the first borne; 1060 put 7760 z8798 thy right hand 3225 vpon x5921 his head. 7218

 48:19 And his father 1 refused, 3985 z8762 and said, 559 z8799 I know 3045 z8804 [it], my sonne, 1121 I know 3045 z8804 [it]: he x1931 also x1571 shall become x1961 a people, 5971 and he x1931 also x1571 shall be great: 1431 z8799 but truely 199 his yonger 6996 brother 251 shall be greater 1431 z8799 then x4480 he; and his seede 2233 shall become x1961 a multitude 4393 of nations. 1471

 48:20 And he blessed 1288 z8762 them that x1931 day, 3117 saying, 559 z8800 In thee shall Israel 3478 blesse, 1288 z8762 saying, 559 z8800 God 430 make 7760 z8799 thee as Ephraim, 669 and as Manasseh: 4519 and he set 7760 z8799 x853 Ephraim 669 before 6440 Manasseh. 4519

 48:21 And Israel 3478 saide 559 z8799 vnto x413 Ioseph, 3130 Behold, x2009 I x595 die: 4191 z8801 but God 430 shall be x1961 with x5973 you, and bring you againe 7725 z8689 x853 vnto x413 the land 776 of your fathers. 1

 48:22 Moreouer I x589 haue giuen 5414 z8804 to thee one 259 portion 7926 aboue x5921 thy brethren, 251 which x834 I tooke 3947 z8804 out of the hand 3027 x4480 of the Amorite 567 with my sword, 2719 and with my bow. 7198
