Genesis 15

1 God encourageth Abram. 2 Abram complaineth for want of an heir. 4 God promiseth him a son, and a multiplying of his seed. 6 Abram is justified by faith. 7 Canaan is promised again, and confirmed by a sign, 12 and a vision.

 15:1 ¶ After 310 these x428 things, 1697 the word 1697 of the LORD 3068 came 1961 z8804 vnto x413 Abram 87 in a vision, 4236 saying; 559 z8800 Feare 3372 z8799 not, x408 Abram: 87 I x595 am thy shield, 4043 [and] thy exceeding 3966 great 7235 z8687 reward. 7939

 15:2 And Abram 87 said, 559 z8799 Lord 136 GOD, 3069 what x4100 wilt thou giue 5414 z8799 me, seeing I x595 goe 1980 z8802 childlesse? 6185 and the steward 1121 4943 of my house 1004 [is] this 1931 Eliezer 461 of Damascus. 1834

 15:3 And Abram 87 said; 559 z8799 Behold, x2005 to mee thou hast given 5414 z8804 no 3808 seed: 2233 and loe, x2009 one borne 1121 in my house 1004 is mine heire. 3423 z8802

 15:4 And behold, x2009 the word 1697 of the LORD 3068 [came] vnto x413 him, saying; 559 z8800 This x2088 shall not x3808 be thine heire: 3423 z8799 but x3588 x518 he that x834 shall come foorth 3318 z8799 out of thy owne bowels, 4578 x4480 shalbe thine heire. 3423 z8799

 15:5 And he brought him forth 3318 z8686 x853 abroad, 2351 and said, 559 z8799 Looke 5027 z8685 now x4994 towards heauen, 8064 and tell 5608 z8798 the starres, 3556 if x518 thou be able 3201 z8799 to number 5608 z8800 them. And hee said 559 z8799 vnto him, So 3541 shall thy seed 2233 be. x1961

 15:6 And he beleeued 539 z8689 in the LORD; 3068 and hee counted 2803 z8799 it to him for righteousnesse. 6666

 15:7 And he said 559 z8799 vnto x413 him; I x589 am the LORD 3068 that x834 brought x3318 thee out y3318 z8689 of Ur 218 x4480 of the Caldees, 3778 to give 5414 z8800 thee x853 this x2063 land, 776 to inherit 3423 z8800 it.

 15:8 And he said, 559 z8799 Lord 136 GOD, 3069 whereby 4100 shal I know 3045 z8799 that x3588 I shall inherit x3423 it? y3423 z8799

 15:9 And he said 559 z8799 vnto x413 him, Take 3947 z8798 me an heifer 5697 of three yeeres old, 8027 z8794 and a shee goat 5795 of three yeeres old, 8027 z8794 and a ramme 352 of three yeeres old, 8027 z8794 and a turtle doue, 8449 and a yong pigeon. 1469

 15:10 And he tooke 3947 z8799 vnto him x853 all x3605 these, x428 and diuided 1334 z8762 them in the midst, 8432 and layd 5414 z8799 each 376 peece 1335 one against 7125 z8800 another: 7453 but the birds 6833 diuided 1334 z8804 he not. x3808

 15:11 And when the fowles 5861 came downe 3381 z8799 vpon x5921 the carcases, 6297 Abram 87 droue them away. 5380 z8686 x853

 15:12 And when the Sunne 8121 was going downe, 935 z8800 a deepe sleepe 8639 fell 5307 z8804 vpon x5921 Abram: 87 and loe, x2009 an horrour 367 of great 1419 darkenesse 2825 fell 5307 z8802 vpon x5921 him.

 15:13 And he said 559 z8799 vnto Abram, 87 Know y3045 z8799 of a surety, 3045 z8800 that x3588 thy seed 2233 shalbe x1961 a stranger, 1616 in a land 776 that is not x3808 theirs, and shal serue 5647 z8804 them, and they shall afflict 6031 z8765 them foure 702 hundred 3967 yeeres. 8141

 15:14 And also x1571 x853 that nation 1471 whom x834 they shall serue, 5647 z8799 wil I x595 iudge: 1777 z8802 and afterward 310 3651 shall they come out 3318 z8799 with great 1419 substance. 7399

 15:15 And thou x859 shalt goe 935 z8799 to x413 thy fathers 1 in peace; 7965 thou shalt be buried 6912 z8735 in a good 2896 old age. 7872

 15:16 But in the fourth 7243 generation 1755 they shall come hither y2008 againe: 7725 z8799 x2008 for x3588 the iniquitie 5771 of the Amorites 567 is not x3808 yet 2008 x5704 full. 8003

 15:17 And it came to passe x1961 that when the Sunne 8121 went downe, 935 z8804 and it was x1961 [darke], 5939 behold, x2009 a smoking 6227 furnace, 8574 and a burning 784 lampe 3940 that x834 passed 5674 z8804 betweene 996 those x428 pieces. 1506

 15:18 In that same 1931 day 3117 the LORD 3068 made 3772 z8804 a couenant 1285 with x854 Abram, 87 saying; 559 z8800 Unto thy seed 2233 haue I giuen 5414 z8804 this x2063 x853 land 776 from the riuer 5104 x4480 of Egypt 4714 vnto x5704 the great 1419 riuer, 5104 the riuer 5104 Euphrates: 6578

 15:19 x853 The Kenites, 7017 and the Kenizites, 7074 and the Kadmonites: 6935

 15:20 And the Hittites, 2850 and the Perizzites, 6522 and the Rephaims, 7497

 15:21 And the Amorites, 567 and the Canaanites, 3669 and the Girgashites, 1622 and the Iebusites. 2983
