Genesis 26

1 Isaac because of famine went to Gerar. 2 God instructeth, and blesseth him. 7 He is reproved by Abimelech for denying his wife. 12 He groweth rich. 18 He diggeth Esek, Sitnah, and Rehoboth. 26 Abimelech maketh a covenant with him at Beer-sheba. 34 Esau's wives.

 26:1 ¶ And there was x1961 a famine 7458 in the land, 776 besides 905 x4480 the first 7223 famine 7458 that x834 was x1961 in the dayes 3117 of Abraham. 85 And Isaac 3327 went y3212 z8799 x1980 vnto x413 Abimelech 40 King 4428 of the Philistims, 6430 vnto Gerar. 1642

 26:2 And the LORD 3068 appeared 7200 z8735 vnto x413 him and said, 559 z8799 Goe not downe 3381 z8799 x408 into Egypt; 4714 dwell 7931 z8798 in the land 776 which x834 I shall tell 559 z8799 thee of. x413

 26:3 Soiourne 1481 z8798 in this x2063 land, 776 and I wil be x1961 with x5973 thee, and will blesse 1288 z8762 thee: for x3588 vnto thee, and vnto thy seed 2233 I will giue 5414 z8799 x853 all x3605 these 411 countreys, 776 and I wil performe 6965 z8689 x853 the othe, 7621 which x834 I sware 7650 z8738 vnto Abraham 85 thy father. 1

 26:4 And I wil make y7235 z0 x853 thy seed 2233 to multiply 7235 z8689 as the starres 3556 of heauen, 8064 and will giue 5414 z8804 vnto thy seed 2233 x853 all x3605 these 411 countreys: 776 and in thy Seed 2233 shall all x3605 the nations 1471 of the earth 776 be blessed: 1288 z8694

 26:5 Because 6118 that x834 Abraham 85 obeyed 8085 z8804 my voyce, 6963 and kept 8104 z8799 my charge, 4931 my Commandements, 4687 my Statutes 2708 and my Lawes. 8451

 26:6 ¶ And Isaac 3327 dwelt 3427 z8799 in Gerar. 1642

 26:7 And the men y582 x376 of the place 4725 asked 7592 z8799 [him] of his wife: 802 and he said, 559 z8799 She x1931 is my sister: 269 for x3588 he feared 3372 z8804 to say, 559 z8800 [She is] my wife; 802 lest, x6435 [said he], the men y582 x376 of the place 4725 should kill 2026 z8799 me for x5921 Rebekah, 7259 because x3588 shee x1931 was faire 2896 to looke vpon. 4758

 26:8 And it came to passe x1961 when x3588 he had bene there x8033 a long 748 z8804 time, 3117 that Abimelech 40 king 4428 of the Philistims 6430 looked out 8259 z8686 at 1157 a window, 2474 and saw, 7200 z8799 and behold, x2009 Isaac 3327 was sporting 6711 z8764 with x853 Rebekah 7259 his wife. 802

 26:9 And Abimelech 40 called 7121 z8799 Isaac 3327 and said, 559 z8799 Behold, x2009 of a suretie 389 she x1931 is thy wife: 802 and how x349 saidst 559 z8804 thou, She x1931 is my sister? 269 And Isaac 3327 said 559 z8799 vnto x413 him, Because x3588 I said, 559 z8804 Lest x6435 I die 4191 z8799 for x5921 her.

 26:10 And Abimelech 40 said, 559 z8799 What x4100 is this x2063 thou hast done 6213 z8804 vnto vs? one 259 of the people 5971 might lightly 4592 haue lien 7901 z8804 with x854 thy wife, 802 and thou shouldest haue brought 935 z8689 guiltinesse 817 vpon x5921 vs.

 26:11 And Abimelech 40 charged 6680 z8762 x853 all x3605 his people, 5971 saying, 559 z8800 Hee that toucheth 5060 z8802 this x2088 man 376 or his wife, 802 shall surely y4191 z8800 bee put to death. 4191 z8714

 26:12 Then Isaac 3327 sowed 2232 z8799 in that x1931 land, 776 and receiued 4672 z8799 in the same x1931 yeere 8141 an hundred fold: 3967 8180 & the LORD 3068 blessed 1288 z8762 him.

 26:13 And the man 376 waxed great, 1431 z8799 and went y3212 z8799 x1980 forward, 1980 z8800 and grew 1432 vntill x5704 x3588 he became y1431 z0 very y3966 great. 1431 z8804 x3966

 26:14 For he had x1961 possession 4735 of flocks, 6629 and possession 4735 of heards, 1241 and great store 7227 of seruants, 5657 and the Philistims 6430 enuied 7065 z8762 him.

 26:15 For all x3605 the wels 875 which x834 his fathers 1 seruants 5650 had digged 2658 z8804 in the dayes 3117 of Abraham 85 his father, 1 the Philistims 6430 had stopped 5640 z8765 them, & filled 4390 z8762 them with earth. 6083

 26:16 And Abimelech 40 said 559 z8799 vnto x413 Isaac, 3327 Goe y3212 z8798 x1980 from x4480 x5973 vs: for x3588 thou art much y3966 mightier 6105 z8804 x3966 then x4480 we.

 26:17 ¶ And Isaac 3327 departed y3212 z8799 x1980 thence, x4480 x8033 and pitched his tent 2583 z8799 in the valley 5158 of Gerar, 1642 and dwelt 3427 z8799 there. 8033

 26:18 And Isaac 3327 digged 2658 z8799 againe 7725 z8799 x853 the wels 875 of water, 4325 which x834 they had digged 2658 z8804 in the dayes 3117 of Abraham 85 his father: 1 for the Philistims 6430 had stopped 5640 z8762 them after 310 the death 4194 of Abraham, 85 and he called 7121 z8799 their names 8034 after the names 8034 by which 834 his father 1 had called 7121 z8804 them.

 26:19 And Isaacs 3327 seruants 5650 digged 2658 z8799 in the valley, 5158 and found 4672 z8799 there x8033 a well 875 of springing 2416 water. 4325

 26:20 And the heardmen 7462 z8802 of Gerar 1642 did striue 7378 z8799 with x5973 Isaacs 3327 heardmen, 7462 z8802 saying, 559 z8800 The water 4325 is ours; and hee called 7121 z8799 the name 8034 of the well, 875 Esek, 6230 because x3588 they stroue 6229 z8694 with x5973 him.

 26:21 And they digged 2658 z8799 another 312 well, 875 and stroue 7378 z8799 for x5921 that also: x1571 and hee called 7121 z8799 the name x8034 of it, y8034 Sitnah. 7856

 26:22 And he remoued 6275 z8686 from thence, x4480 x8033 and digged 2658 z8799 another 312 well, 875 and for x5921 that they stroue 7378 z8804 not: x3808 and he called 7121 z8799 the name x8034 of it y8034 Rehoboth: 7344 and he said, 559 z8799 For x3588 now 6258 the LORD 3068 hath made roome 7337 z8689 for vs, and we shall be fruitfull 6509 z8804 in the land. 776

 26:23 And he went vp 5927 z8799 from thence x4480 x8033 to Beer-sheba. 884

 26:24 And the LORD 3068 appeared 7200 z8735 vnto x413 him the same x1931 night, 3915 and saide, 559 z8799 I x595 [am] the God 430 of Abraham 85 thy father: 1 feare 3372 z8799 not, x408 for x3588 I x595 am with 854 thee, and will blesse 1288 z8765 thee, and multiply 7235 z8689 x853 thy seede, 2233 for x5668 my seruant 5650 Abrahams 85 sake.

 26:25 And he builded 1129 z8799 an altar 4196 there, x8033 and called 7121 z8799 vpon the name 8034 of the LORD, 3068 and pitched 5186 z8799 his tent 168 there: x8033 and there x8033 Isaacs 3327 seruants 5650 digged 3738 z8799 a well. 875

 26:26 ¶ Then Abimelech 40 went 1980 z8804 to x413 him from Gerar, 1642 x4480 and Ahuzzath 276 one of his friends, 4828 and Phichol 6369 the chiefe captaine 8269 of his armie. 6635

 26:27 And Isaac 3327 saide 559 z8799 vnto x413 them, Wherefore 4069 come 935 z8804 ye to x413 me, seeing ye x859 hate 8130 z8804 me, and haue sent me away 7971 z8762 from x4480 you?

 26:28 And they said, 559 z8799 we saw y7200 z8804 certainly 7200 z8800 that x3588 the LORD 3068 was x1961 with x5973 thee: and wee said, 559 z8799 Let there be x1961 now x4994 an othe 423 betwixt 996 vs, euen betwixt 996 vs and thee, and let vs make 3772 z8799 a couenant 1285 with x5973 thee,

 26:29 That x518 thou wilt doe 6213 z8799 vs no hurt, 7451 as x834 we haue not x3808 touched 5060 z8804 thee, and as x834 we haue done 6213 z8804 vnto x5973 thee nothing but 7535 good, 2896 and haue sent thee away 7971 z8762 in peace: 7965 thou x859 art now 6258 the blessed 1288 z8803 of the LORD. 3068

 26:30 And he made 6213 z8799 them a feast, 4960 and they did eate 398 z8799 and drinke. 8354 z8799

 26:31 And they rose vp betimes 7925 z8686 in the morning, 1242 and sware 7650 z8735 one 376 to another: 251 and Isaac 3327 sent them away, 7971 z8762 and they departed y3212 z8799 x1980 from x4480 x854 him in peace. 7965

 26:32 And it came to passe x1961 the same x1931 day, 3117 that Isaacs 3327 seruants 5650 came, 935 z8799 and tolde 5046 z8686 him concerning 182 x5921 the well 875 which x834 they had digged, 2658 z8804 and said 559 z8799 vnto him, we haue found 4672 z8804 water. 4325

 26:33 And he called 7121 z8799 it Shebah: 7656 therefore x5921 x3651 the name 8034 of the citie 5892 is Beer-sheba 884 vnto x5704 this x2088 day. 3117

 26:34 ¶ And Esau 6215 was x1961 forty 705 yeeres 8141 old, 1121 when he tooke 3947 z8799 to wife 802 x853 Iudith, 3067 the daughter 1323 of Beeri 882 the Hittite, 2850 and Bashemath 1315 the daughter 1323 of Elon 356 the Hittite: 2850

 26:35 Which were x1961 a griefe 4786 of minde 7307 vnto Isaac 3327 and to Rebekah. 7259
