2 Chronicles 35

1 Josiah keepeth a most solemn Passover. 20 He, provoking Pharaoh-necho, is slain at Megiddo. 25 Lamentations for Josiah.

 35:1 ¶ Moreouer Iosiah 2977 kept 6213 z8799 a Passeouer 6453 vnto ye LORD 3068 in Ierusalem: 3389 and they killed 7819 z8799 the Passeouer 6453 on the fourteenth 702 6240 [day] of the first 7223 moneth. 2320

 35:2 And hee set 5975 z8686 the Priestes 3548 in x5921 their charges, 4931 and encouraged 2388 z8762 them to the seruice 5656 of the house 1004 of the LORD, 3068

 35:3 And said 559 z8799 vnto the Leuites, 3881 that taught 4000 y995 z8688 z8675 all x3605 Israel, 3478 which were holy 6918 vnto the LORD, 3068 Put 5414 z8798 x853 the holy 6944 Arke 727 in the house, 1004 which x834 Solomon 8010 the sonne 1121 of Dauid 1732 king 4428 of Israel 3478 did build; 1129 z8804 [it shall] not x369 [be] a burden 4853 vpon [your] shoulders: 3802 serue 5647 z8798 now x6258 x853 the LORD 3068 your God, 430 and his people 5971 Israel. 3478

 35:4 And prepare 3559 z8685 z8675 z8734 [your selues] by the houses 1004 of your fathers, 1 after your courses, 4256 according to the writing 3791 of Dauid 1732 king 4428 of Israel, 3478 and according to the writing 4385 of Solomon 8010 his sonne. 1121

 35:5 And stand x5975 in y5975 z8798 the holy 6944 place according to the diuisions 6391 of the families 1004 of the fathers 1 of your brethren 251 the people, 1121 5971 and after the diuision 2515 of the families 1 1004 of the Leuites. 3881

 35:6 So kill 7819 z8798 the Passeouer, 6453 and sanctifie y6942 z8690 your selues, x6942 and prepare 3559 z8685 your brethren, 251 that [they] may doe 6213 z8800 according to the word 1697 of the LORD, 3068 by the hand 3027 of Moses. 4872

 35:7 And Iosiah 2977 gaue 7311 z8686 to the people, 1121 5971 of the flocke, 6629 lambes 3532 and kiddes, 1121 5795 all x3605 for the Passeouer-offerings, 6453 for all x3605 that were present, 4672 z8737 to the number 4557 of thirtie 7970 thousand, 505 and three 7969 thousand 505 bullocks: 1241 these x428 [were] of the kings 4428 substance. 7399 x4480

 35:8 And his Princes 8269 gaue 7311 z8689 willingly 5071 vnto the people, 5971 to the Priests 3548 and to the Leuites: 3881 Hilkiah, 2518 and Zachariah, 2148 and Iehiel, 3171 rulers 5057 of the house 1004 of God, 430 gaue 5414 z8804 vnto the Priests 3548 for the Passeouer-offerings, 6453 two thousand 505 and sixe 8337 hundred 3967 [small cattell], and three 7969 hundred 3967 oxen. 1241

 35:9 Conaniah 3562 also, and Shemaiah, 8098 and Nethaneel, 5417 his brethren, 251 & Hashabiah, 2811 and Iehiel, 3273 and Ioshabad 3107 chiefe 8269 of the Leuites, 3881 gaue 7311 z8689 vnto the Leuites 3881 for Passeouer-offerings, 6453 fiue 2568 thousand 505 [small cattell], and fiue 2568 hundred 3967 oxen. 1241

 35:10 So the seruice 5656 was prepared, 3559 z8735 and the Priests 3548 stood 5975 z8799 in x5921 their place, 5977 and the Leuites 3881 in x5921 their courses, 4256 according to the kings 4428 commandement. 4687

 35:11 And they killed 7819 z8799 the Passeouer, 6453 and the Priestes 3548 sprinckled 2236 z8799 [the blood] from their handes, 3027 x4480 and the Leuites 3881 flayed 6584 z8688 [them].

 35:12 And they remooued 5493 z8686 the burnt offerings, 5930 that they might giue 5414 z8800 according to the diuisions 4653 of the families 1 1004 of the people, 1121 5971 to offer 7126 z8687 vnto the LORD, 3068 as it is written 3789 z8803 in the booke 5612 of Moses: 4872 and so x3651 [did they] with the oxen. 1241

 35:13 And they rosted 1310 z8762 the Passeouer 6453 with fire, 784 according to the ordinance: 4941 but the [other] holy 6944 offerings sod 1310 z8765 they in pots, 5518 and in cauldrons, 1731 and in pannes, 6745 and diuided [them] speedily 7323 z8686 among all x3605 the people. 1121 5971

 35:14 And afterward 310 they made ready 3559 z8689 for themselues, and for the Priests: 3548 because x3588 the Priests 3548 the sonnes 1121 of Aaron 175 [were busied] in offring 5927 z8687 of burnt offrings, 5930 and the fat 2459 vntill x5704 night: 3915 therefore the Leuites 3881 prepared 3559 z8689 for themselues, and for the Priests 3548 the sonnes 1121 of Aaron. 175

 35:15 And the singers 7891 z8789 the sonnes 1121 of Asaph, 623 [were] in x5921 their place 4612 according to the commandement 4687 of Dauid, 1732 and Asaph, 623 and Heman, 1968 and Ieduthun 3038 the kings 4428 Seer: 2374 and the Porters 7778 [waited] at euery gate: 8179 they might not x369 depart 5493 z8800 from x4480 x5921 their seruice; 5656 for x3588 their brethren 251 the Leuites 3881 prepared 3559 z8689 for them.

 35:16 So all x3605 the seruice 5656 of the LORD 3068 was prepared 3559 z8735 the same x1931 day, 3117 to keepe 6213 z8800 the Passeouer, 6453 and to offer 5927 z8687 burnt offerings 5930 vpon x5921 the altar 4196 of the LORD, 3068 according to the commaundement 4687 of king 4428 Iosiah. 2977

 35:17 And the children 1121 of Israel 3478 that were present, 4672 z8737 kept 6213 z8799 x853 the Passeouer 6453 at that x1931 time, 6256 and the feast 2282 of vnleauened bread 4682 seuen 7651 dayes. 3117

 35:18 And there was no x3808 Passeouer 6453 like y3644 to x3644 that, kept 6213 z8738 in Israel, 3478 from the dayes 3117 x4480 of Samuel 8050 the Prophet: 5030 neither x3808 did 6213 z8804 all x3605 the Kings 4428 of Israel 3478 keepe 6213 z8804 such a Passeouer, 6453 as x834 Iosiah 2977 kept, 6213 z8804 and the Priests 3548 and the Leuites, 3881 and all x3605 Iudah 3063 and Israel 3478 that were present, 4672 z8737 and the inhabitants 3427 z8802 of Ierusalem. 3389

 35:19 In the eighteenth 8083 6240 yeere 8141 of the reigne 4438 of Iosiah, 2977 was this x2088 Passeouer 6453 kept. 6213 z8738

 35:20 ¶ After 310 all x3605 this, x2063 when x834 Iosiah 2977 had prepared 3559 z8689 x853 the Temple, 1004 Necho 5224 king 4428 of Egypt 4714 came vp 5927 z8804 to fight 3898 z8736 against Carchemish 3751 by x5921 Euphrates: 6578 and Iosiah 2977 went out 3318 z8799 against 7125 z8800 him.

 35:21 But hee sent 7971 z8799 Embassadours 4397 to x413 him, saying, 559 z8800 What x4100 haue I to doe with thee, thou king 4428 of Iudah? 3063 [I come] not x3808 against x5921 thee x859 this day, 3117 but x3588 against x413 the house, 1004 wherewith I haue warre: 4421 for God 430 commaunded 559 z8804 mee to make haste: 926 z8763 forbeare 2308 z8798 thee from [medling] with God, 430 x4480 who x834 [is] with x5973 mee, that hee destroy 7843 z8686 thee not. x408

 35:22 Neuerthelesse Iosiah 2977 would not x3808 turne 5437 z8689 his face 6440 from x4480 him, but x3588 disguised y2664 z8694 himselfe x2664 that he might fight 3898 z8736 with him, and hearkened 8085 z8804 not x3808 vnto x413 the wordes 1697 of Necho 5224 from the mouth 6310 x4480 of God, 430 and came 935 z8799 to fight 3898 z8736 in the valley 1237 of Megiddo. 4023

 35:23 And the archers 3384 z8802 shot 3384 z8686 at king 4428 Iosiah: 2977 and the King 4428 saide 559 z8799 to his seruants, 5650 Haue mee away, 5674 z8685 for x3588 I am sore y3966 wounded. 2470 z8717 x3966

 35:24 His seruants 5650 therefore tooke 5674 z8686 him out of x4480 that charet, 4818 and put 7392 z8686 him in x5921 the second 4932 charet 7393 that x834 hee [had]: and they brought y3212 z8686 x1980 him to Ierusalem, 3389 and hee died, 4191 z8799 and was buried 6912 z8735 in [one of the] Sepulchres 6913 of his fathers. 1 And all x3605 Iudah 3063 and Ierusalem 3389 mourned 56 z8693 for x5921 Iosiah. 2977

 35:25 ¶ And Ieremiah 3414 lamented 6969 z8787 for x5921 Iosiah, 2977 and all x3605 the singing men 7891 z8802 and the singing women 7891 z8802 spake 559 z8799 of x5921 Iosiah 2977 in their lamentations 7015 to x5704 this day, 3117 and made 5414 z8799 them an ordinance 2706 in x5921 Israel; 3478 and beholde, x2009 they are written 3789 z8803 in x5921 the Lamentations. 7015

 35:26 Now the rest 3499 of the acts 1697 of Iosiah, 2977 and his goodnes, 2617 according to that which [was] written 3789 z8803 in the Law 8451 of the LORD, 3068

 35:27 And his deedes 1697 first 7223 and last; 314 behold, x2009 they [are] written 3789 z8803 in x5921 the booke 5612 of the kings 4428 of Israel 3478 and Iudah. 3063
