2 Chronicles 12

1 Rehoboam, forsaking the LORD, is punished by Shishak. 5 He and the princes, repenting at the preaching of Shemaiah, are delivered from destruction, but not from spoil. 13 The reign and death of Rehoboam.

 12:1 ¶ And it came to passe x1961 when Rehoboam 7346 had established 3559 z8687 the kingdome, 4438 and had strengthened y2393 x2394 himselfe, hee forsooke 5800 z8804 x853 the Law 8451 of the LORD, 3068 and all x3605 Israel 3478 with x5973 him.

 12:2 And it came to passe, x1961 that in the fifth 2549 yere 8141 of 4428 Rehoboam, 7346 Shishak 7895 king 4428 of Egypt 4714 came vp 5927 z8804 against x5921 Ierusalem, 3389 (because x3588 they had transgressed 4603 z8804 against the LORD) 3068

 12:3 With twelue hundred 3967 505 charets, 7393 and threescore 8346 thousand 505 horsemen: 6571 and the people 5971 [were] without x369 number 4557 that x834 came 935 z8804 with x5973 him out of Egypt: 4714 x4480 the Lubims, 3864 the Sukkiims, 5525 & the Ethiopians. 3569

 12:4 And hee tooke 3920 z8799 x853 the fenced 4694 cities 5892 which x834 [perteined] to Iudah, 3063 and came 935 z8799 to x5704 Ierusalem. 3389

 12:5 ¶ Then came 935 z8804 Shemaiah 8098 the prophet 5030 to x413 Rehoboam, 7346 and to the Princes 8269 of Iudah 3063 that x834 were gathered together 622 z8738 to x413 Ierusalem 3389 because y6440 of x4480 x6440 Shishak, 7895 and said 559 z8799 vnto them, Thus x3541 saith 559 z8804 the LORD, 3068 Ye x859 haue forsaken 5800 z8804 me, and therfore haue I x589 also 637 left 5800 z8804 you in the hand 3027 of Shishak. 7895

 12:6 Whereupon, the Princes 8269 of Israel, 3478 and the king 4428 humbled y3665 z8735 themselues x3665 and they saide, 559 z8799 The LORD 3068 [is] righteous. 6662

 12:7 And when the LORD 3068 saw 7200 z8800 that x3588 they humbled y3665 z8738 themselues, x3665 the word 1697 of the LORD 3068 came x1961 to x413 Shemaiah, 8098 saying, 559 z8800 They haue humbled y3665 z8738 themselues, x3665 [therefore] I will not x3808 destroy 7843 z8686 them, but I will grant 5414 z8804 them some 4592 deliuerance, 6413 and my wrath 2534 shall not x3808 bee powred out 5413 z8799 vpon Ierusalem, 3389 by the hand 3027 of Shishak. 7895

 12:8 Neuerthelesse x3588 they shalbe x1961 his seruants, 5650 that they may know 3045 z8799 my seruice, 5656 and the seruice 5656 of the kingdomes 4467 of the countreys. 776

 12:9 So Shishak 7895 king 4428 of Egypt 4714 came vp 5927 z8799 against x5921 Ierusalem, 3389 and tooke away 3947 z8799 x853 the treasures 214 of the house 1004 of the LORD, 3068 and the treasures 214 of the kings 4428 house, 1004 hee tooke 3947 z8804 x853 all: x3605 he caried away 3947 z8799 x853 also the shields 4043 of gold, 2091 which x834 Solomon 8010 had made. 6213 z8804

 12:10 In stead of x8478 which, king 4428 Rehoboam 7346 made 6213 z8799 shields 4043 of brasse, 5178 and committed 6485 z8689 [them] to x5921 the hands 3027 of the chiefe 8269 of the guard, 7323 z8801 that kept 8104 z8802 the entrance 6607 of the Kings 4428 house. 1004

 12:11 And when 1767 x4480 the king 4428 entred y935 z8800 into x1961 x935 the house 1004 of the LORD, 3068 the guard 7323 z8801 came 935 z8804 and fet 5375 z8804 them, and brought them againe 7725 z8689 into x413 the guard-chamber. 7323 8372 z8801

 12:12 And when he humbled y3665 z8736 himselfe, x3665 the wrath 639 of the LORD 3068 turned 7725 z8804 from x4480 him, that hee would not x3808 destroy 7843 z8687 [him] altogether: 3617 and also x1571 in Iudah 3063 things 1697 went x1961 well. 2896

 12:13 ¶ So king 4428 Rehoboam 7346 strengthened y2388 z8691 himselfe x2388 in Ierusalem, 3389 and reigned: 4427 z8799 for x3588 Rehoboam 7346 [was] one 259 and fourty 705 yeeres 8141 olde 1121 when hee began to reigne, 4427 z8800 and he reigned 4427 z8804 seuenteen 7651 6240 yeeres 8141 in Ierusalem, 3389 the citie 5892 which x834 the LORD 3068 had chosen 977 z8804 out of all x4480 x3605 the tribes 7626 of Israel, 3478 to put 7760 z8800 x853 his Name 8034 there: x8033 and his mothers 517 name 8034 [was] Naamah 5279 an Ammonitesse. y5985 x5984

 12:14 And hee did 6213 z8799 euill, 7451 because x3588 hee prepared 3559 z8689 not x3808 his heart 3820 to seeke 1875 z8800 x853 the LORD. 3068

 12:15 Now the acts 1697 of Rehoboam 7346 first 7223 and last, 314 are they x1992 not x3808 written 3789 z8803 in the booke 1697 of Shemaiah 8098 the Prophet, 5030 and of Iddo 5714 the Seer, 2374 concerning genealogies? 3187 z8692 and [there were] warres 4421 betweene Rehoboam 7346 & Ieroboam 3379 continually. 3117 x3605

 12:16 And Rehoboam 7346 slept 7901 z8799 with x5973 his fathers, 1 and was buried 6912 z8735 in the citie 5892 of Dauid, 1732 and Abiiah 29 his sonne 1121 reigned 4427 z8799 in his stead. x8478
