2 Chronicles 26

1 Uzziah succeeding, and reigning well in the days of Zechariah, prospereth. 16 Waxing proud, he invadeth the priest's office, and is smitten with leprosy. 22 He dieth, and Jotham succeeds him.

 26:1 ¶ Then all x3605 the people 5971 of Iudah 3063 tooke 3947 z8799 x853 Uzziah, 5818 who x1931 [was] sixteene 8337 6240 yeeres 8141 old, 1121 and made him King 4427 z8686 x853 in the roome of x8478 his father 1 Amaziah. 558

 26:2 He x1931 built 1129 z8804 x853 Eloth, 359 and restored 7725 z8686 it to Iudah: 3063 after y310 that x310 the King 4428 slept 7901 z8800 with x5973 his fathers. 1

 26:3 Sixteene 8337 6240 yeeres 8141 old 1121 [was] Uzziah, 5818 when he began to reigne, 4427 z8800 and he reigned 4427 z8804 fiftie 2572 and two 8147 yeeres 8141 in Ierusalem: 3389 his mothers 517 name 8034 also [was] Iecoliah 3203 of x4480 Ierusalem. 3389

 26:4 And hee did 6213 z8799 that which [was] right 3477 in the sight 5869 of the LORD, 3068 according to all x3605 that x834 his father 1 Amaziah 558 did. 6213 z8804

 26:5 And hee sought 1875 z8800 x1961 God 430 in the dayes 3117 of Zechariah, 2148 who had vnderstanding 995 z8688 in the visions 7200 z8800 of God: 430 and as long as 3117 he sought 1875 z8800 x853 the LORD, 3068 God 430 made him to prosper. 6743 z8689

 26:6 And hee went foorth 3318 z8799 and warred 3898 z8735 against the Philistines, 6430 & brake downe 6555 z8799 x853 the wall 2346 of Gath, 1661 and the wall 2346 of Iabneh, 2996 and the wall 2346 of Ashdod, 795 and built 1129 z8799 cities 5892 about Ashdod, 795 and among the Philistines. 6430

 26:7 And God 430 helped 5826 z8799 him against x5921 the Philistines, 6430 and against x5921 the Arabians, 6163 that dwelt 3427 z8802 in Gur-baal, 1485 and the Mehunims. 4586

 26:8 And the Ammonites 5984 gaue 5414 z8799 gifts 4503 to Uzziah, 5818 and his name 8034 spread abroad y3212 z8799 x1980 euen to x5704 the entring y935 z8800 in x935 of Egypt: 4714 for x3588 hee strengthened 2388 z8689 himselfe exceedingly. 4605 x5704

 26:11 Moreouer, Uzziah 5818 had x1961 an host 2428 of fighting y4421 men, 6213 z8802 x4421 that went out 3318 z8802 to warre 6635 by bands, 1416 according to the number 4557 of their account, 6486 by the hand 3027 of Ieiel 3273 the Scribe, 5608 z8802 and Maasiah 4641 the ruler, 7860 z8802 vnder x5921 the hand 3027 of Hananiah, 2608 [one] of the kings 4428 captaines. 8269 x4480

 26:14 And Uzziah 5818 prepared 3559 z8686 for them throughout all x3605 the hoste, 6635 shields, 4043 and speares, 7420 and helmets, 3553 and habergions, 8302 and bowes, 7198 and slings 7050 [to cast] stones. 68

 26:15 And hee made 6213 z8799 in Ierusalem 3389 engines 2810 inuented 4284 by cunning men, 2803 z8802 to bee x1961 on x5921 the towers, 4026 & vpon x5921 the bulwarks, 6438 to shoote 3384 z8800 arrowes 2671 and great 1419 stones 68 withall: and his name 8034 spread 3318 z8799 farre abroad, 7350 x5704 x4480 for x3588 he was marueilously 6381 z8689 helped, 5826 z8736 till 3588 x5704 he was strong. 2388 z8804

 26:16 ¶ But when he was strong, y2393 x2394 his heart 3820 was lifted vp 1361 z8804 to x5704 [his] destruction: 7843 z8687 for he transgressed 4603 z8799 against the LORD 3068 his God, 430 and went 935 z8799 into x413 the temple 1964 of the LORD, 3068 to burne incense 6999 z8687 vpon x5921 the altar 4196 of incense. 7004

 26:17 And Azariah 5838 the priest 3548 went in 935 z8799 after 310 him, and with x5973 him fourescore 8084 priests 3548 of the LORD, 3068 that were valiant y2428 men. 1121 x2428

 26:18 And they withstood 5975 z8799 x5921 Uzziah 5818 the king, 4428 and said 559 z8799 vnto him, It perteineth not x3808 vnto thee, Uzziah, 5818 to burne incense 6999 z8687 vnto the LORD, 3068 but x3588 to the priestes 3548 the sonnes 1121 of Aaron, 175 that are consecrated 6942 z8794 to burne incense. 6999 z8687 Goe out 3318 z8798 of x4480 the Sanctuarie; 4720 for x3588 thou hast trespassed, 4603 z8804 neither x3808 shall it [be] for thine honour 3519 from the LORD 3068 x4480 God. 430

 26:19 Then Uzziah 5818 was wroth, 2196 z8799 and [had] a censer 4730 in his hand, 3027 to burne incense, 6999 z8687 and while he was wroth 2196 z8800 with x5973 the priests, 3548 the leprosie 6883 euen rose vp 2224 z8804 in his forehead, 4696 before 6440 the priests, 3548 in the house 1004 of the LORD, 3068 from beside x4480 x5921 the incense 7004 altar. 4196

 26:20 And Azariah 5838 the chiefe 7218 priest, 3548 and all x3605 the priests 3548 looked 6437 z8799 vpon x413 him, and behold, x2009 he x1931 was leprous 6879 z8794 in his forehead, 4696 and they thrust him out 926 z8686 from thence, x4480 x8033 yea himselfe x1931 hasted 1765 z8738 also x1571 to goe out, 3318 z8800 because x3588 the LORD 3068 had smitten 5060 z8765 him.

 26:21 And Uzziah 5818 the king 4428 was x1961 a leper 6879 z8794 vnto x5704 the day 3117 of his death, 4194 and dwelt x3427 in y3427 z8799 a seuerall 2669 z8675 house 1004 being a leper, 6879 z8794 for x3588 he was cut off 1504 z8738 from the house 1004 x4480 of the LORD: 3068 and Iotham 3147 his sonne 1121 [was] ouer x5921 the kings 4428 house, 1004 iudging 8199 z8802 x853 the people 5971 of the land. 776

 26:22 ¶ Now the rest 3499 of the actes 1697 of Uzziah 5818 first 7223 and last, 314 did Isaiah 3470 the prophet 5030 the sonne 1121 of Amoz 531 write. 3789 z8804

 26:23 So Uzziah 5818 slept 7901 z8799 with x5973 his fathers, 1 and they buried 6912 z8799 him with x5973 his fathers 1 in the field 7704 of the buriall 6900 [which x834 belonged] to the kings: 4428 for x3588 they saide, 559 z8804 He x1931 [is] a leper: 6879 z8794 And Iotham 3147 his sonne 1121 reigned 4427 z8799 in his stead. x8478
