2 Chronicles 17

1 Jehoshaphat, succeeding Asa, reigneth well, and prospereth. 7 He sendeth Levites with the princes to teach Judah. 10 His enemies being terrified by God, some of them bring him presents and tribute. 12 His greatness, captains, and armies.

 17:1 ¶ And Iehoshaphat 3092 his sonne 1121 reigned 4427 z8799 in his stead, x8478 and strengthened y2388 z8691 himselfe x2388 against x5921 Israel. 3478

 17:2 And he placed 5414 z8799 forces 2428 in all x3605 the fenced 1219 z8803 cities 5892 of Iudah, 3063 and set 5414 z8799 garisons 5333 in the land 776 of Iudah, 3063 and in the cities 5892 of Ephraim, 669 which x834 Asa 609 his father 1 had taken. 3920 z8804

 17:3 And the LORD 3068 was x1961 with x5973 Iehoshaphat, 3092 because x3588 hee walked 1980 z8804 in the first 7223 wayes 1870 of his father 1 Dauid, 1732 and sought 1875 z8804 not x3808 vnto Baalim: 1168

 17:4 But x3588 sought 1875 z8804 to the Lord God 430 of his father, 1 and walked 1980 z8804 in his commandements, 4687 and not x3808 after the doings 4639 of Israel: 3478

 17:5 Therefore the LORD 3068 stablished 3559 z8686 x853 the kingdome 4467 in his hand, 3027 and all x3605 Iudah 3063 brought 5414 z8799 to Iehoshaphat 3092 presents, 4503 and he had x1961 riches 6239 and honour 3519 in abundance. 7230

 17:6 And his heart 3820 was lift vp 1361 z8799 in the wayes 1870 of the LORD: 3068 moreouer x5750 hee tooke away 5493 z8689 x853 the high places 1116 and groues 842 out of Iudah. 3063 x4480

 17:7 ¶ Also in the third 7969 yeere 8141 of his reigne, 4427 z8800 hee sent 7971 z8804 to his princes, 8269 [euen] to Benhail, 1134 and to Obadiah, 5662 and to Zechariah, 2148 and to Nethaneel, 5417 and to Michaiah, 4322 to teach 3925 z8763 in the cities 5892 of Iudah: 3063

 17:8 And with x5973 them [hee sent] Leuites, 3881 euen Shemaiah, 8098 and Nethaniah, 5418 and Zebadiah, 2069 and Asahel, 6214 and Shemiramoth, 8070 and Iehonathan, 3083 and Adoniiah, 138 and Tobiiah, 2900 and Tob-adoniiah, 2899 Leuites: 3881 and with x5973 them, Elishama 476 and Iehoram, 3088 Priests. 3548

 17:9 And they taught 3925 z8762 in Iudah, 3063 and [had] the book 5612 of the Law 8451 of the LORD 3068 with x5973 them, and went about 5437 z8799 throughout all x3605 the cities 5892 of Iudah, 3063 and taught 3925 z8762 the people. 5971

 17:10 ¶ And the feare 6343 of the LORD 3068 fell x1961 vpon x5921 all x3605 the kingdomes 4467 of the lands 776 that x834 [were] round about 5439 Iudah, 3063 so that they made no warre 3898 z8738 x3808 against x5973 Iehoshaphat. 3092

 17:11 Also [some] of x4480 the Philistines 6430 brought 935 z8688 Iehoshaphat 3092 presents, 4503 and tribute 4853 siluer, 3701 and x1571 the Arabians 6163 brought 935 z8688 him flocks, 6629 seuen 7651 thousand 505 and seuen 7651 hundred 3967 rammes, 352 and seuen 7651 thousand 505 and seuen 7651 hundred 3967 he goats. 8495

 17:12 ¶ And Iehoshaphat 3092 waxed 1980 z8802 x1961 great 1432 exceedingly, 4605 x5704 and he built 1129 z8799 in Iudah 3063 castles, 1003 and cities 5892 of store. 4543

 17:13 And he had x1961 much 7227 businesse 4399 in the cities 5892 of Iudah: 3063 and the men y582 x376 of warre, 4421 mightie men 1368 of valour, 2428 [were] in Ierusalem. 3389

 17:14 And these x428 [are] the numbers 6486 of them according to the house 1004 of their fathers: 1 Of Iudah, 3063 the captaines 8269 of thousands, 505 Adnah 5734 the chiefe, 8269 and with x5973 him mighty men 1368 of valour, 2428 three 7969 hundred 3967 thousand. 505

 17:15 And next 3027 x5921 to him [was] Iehohanan 3076 the captaine, 8269 and with x5973 him two hundred 3967 and fourescore 8084 thousand. 505

 17:16 And next 3027 x5921 him was Amasiah 6007 the sonne 1121 of Zichri, 2147 who willingly offered y5068 z8693 himselfe x5068 vnto the LORD, 3068 and with him x5973 two hundred 3967 thousand 505 mightie men 1368 of valour. 2428

 17:17 And of x4480 Beniamin, 1144 Eliada 450 a mightie man 1368 of valour, 2428 and with x5973 him, armed men 5401 z8802 with bow 7198 and shield 4043 two hundred 3967 thousand. 505

 17:18 And next 3027 x5921 him [was] Iehoshabad, 3075 and with x5973 him an hundred 3967 and foure score 8084 thousand, 505 ready prepared 2502 z8803 for the warre. 6635

 17:19 These x428 waited y8334 z8764 on x8334 x853 the king, 4428 besides x4480 x905 those whom x834 the king 4428 put 5414 z8804 in the fenced 4013 cities 5892 throughout all x3605 Iudah. 3063
