2 Chronicles 11

1 Rehoboam raising an army to subdue Israel, is forbidden by Shemaiah. 5 He strengtheneth his kingdom with forts and provision. 13 The priests and Levites, and such as feared God, forsaken by Jeroboam, strengthen the kingdom of Judah. 18 The wives and children of Rehoboam.

 11:1 ¶ And when Rehoboam 7346 was come 935 z8799 to Ierusalem, 3389 he gathered 6950 z8686 x853 of the house 1004 of Iudah 3063 and Beniamin, 1144 an hundred 3967 and fourescore 8084 thousand 505 chosen 977 z8803 [men], which were warriers, 6213 4421 z8802 to fight 3898 z8736 against x5973 Israel, 3478 that hee might bring 7725 z0 x853 the kingdome 4467 againe y7725 z8687 to Rehoboam. 7346

 11:2 But the worde 1697 of the LORD 3068 came x1961 to x413 Shemaiah 8098 the man 376 of God, 430 saying, 559 z8800

 11:3 Speake 559 z8798 vnto x413 Rehoboam 7346 the son 1121 of Solomon, 8010 king 4428 of Iudah, 3063 and to x413 all x3605 Israel 3478 in Iudah 3063 & Beniamin, 1144 saying, 559 z8800

 11:4 Thus x3541 saith 559 z8804 the LORD; 3068 Ye shall not x3808 goe vp, 5927 z8799 nor x3808 fight 3898 z8735 against x5973 your brethren: 251 returne 7725 z8798 euery man 376 to his house, 1004 for x3588 this x2088 thing 1697 is done 1961 z8738 of x4480 x854 me. And they obeyed 8085 z8799 x853 the words 1697 of the LORD, 3068 and returned 7725 z8799 from going y3212 z8800 x4480 x1980 against x413 Ieroboam. 3379

 11:5 ¶ And Rehoboam 7346 dwelt 3427 z8799 in Ierusalem, 3389 and built 1129 z8799 cities 5892 for defence 4692 in Iudah. 3063

 11:6 He built 1129 z8799 euen x853 Bethlehem, 1035 and Etam, 5862 and Tekoa, 8620

 11:7 And Bethzur, 1049 and Shoco, 7755 and Adullam, 5725

 11:8 And Gath, 1661 and Maresha, 4762 and Ziph, 2128

 11:9 And Adoraim, 115 and Lachish, 3923 and Azekah, 5825

 11:10 And Zorah, y6881 x6681 and Aialon, 357 and Hebron, 2275 which x834 [are] in Iudah 3063 and in Beniamin, 1144 fenced 4694 cities. 5892

 11:11 And he fortified 2388 z8762 x853 the strong holds, 4694 and put 5414 z8799 captaines 5057 in them, and store 214 of vitaile, 3978 and of oyle 8081 and wine. 3196

 11:12 And in euery x3605 seuerall citie 5892 he put shields 6793 and speares, 7420 and made them exceeding y7235 z8687 y3966 strong, 2388 z8762 x7235 x3966 hauing x1961 Iudah 3063 and Beniamin 1144 on his side.

 11:13 ¶ And the Priests 3548 and the Leuites 3881 that x834 [were] in all x3605 Israel, 3478 resorted 3320 z8694 to x5921 him out of all x4480 x3605 their coasts. 1366

 11:14 For x3588 the Leuites 3881 left 5800 z8804 x853 their suburbs, 4054 and their possession, 272 and came y3212 z8799 x1980 to Iudah 3063 and Ierusalem: 3389 for x3588 Ieroboam 3379 and his sonnes 1121 had cast them off 2186 z8689 from executing the Priests office 3547 z8763 x4480 vnto the LORD. 3068

 11:15 And hee ordeined 5975 z8686 him priests 3548 for the high places, 1116 and for the deuils, 8163 and for the calues 5695 which x834 he had made. 6213 z8804

 11:16 And after 310 them out of all x4480 x3605 the tribes 7626 of Israel, 3478 such as set 5414 z8802 x853 their hearts 3824 to seeke 1245 z8763 x853 the LORD 3068 God 430 of Israel, 3478 came 935 z8804 to Ierusalem, 3389 to sacrifice 2076 z8800 vnto the LORD 3068 God 430 of their fathers. 1

 11:17 So they strengthened 2388 z8762 x853 the kingdome 4438 of Iudah, 3063 and made x853 Rehoboam 7346 the sonne 1121 of Solomon 8010 strong, 553 z8762 three 7969 yeeres: 8141 for x3588 three 7969 yeeres 8141 they walked 1980 z8804 in the way 1870 of Dauid 1732 and Solomon. 8010

 11:18 ¶ And Rehoboam 7346 tooke 3947 z8799 him x853 Mahalath 4258 the daughter 1323 z8675 y1121 of Ierimoth 3406 the sonne 1121 of Dauid 1732 to wife, 802 [and] Abihail 32 the daughter 1323 of Eliab 446 the son 1121 of Iesse: 3448

 11:19 Which bare 3205 z8799 him children, 1121 x853 Ieush, 3266 and Shamariah, 8114 and Zaham. 2093

 11:20 And after 310 her, hee tooke 3947 z8804 x853 Maacah 4601 the daughter 1323 of Absalom, 53 which bare 3205 z8799 him x853 Abiiah, 29 and Atthai, 6262 and Ziza, 2124 and Shelomith. 8019

 11:21 And Rehoboam 7346 loued 157 z8799 x853 Maacah 4601 the daughter 1323 of Absalom, 53 aboue all x4480 x3605 his wiues 802 and his concubines: 6370 for x3588 he tooke 5375 z8804 eighteene 8083 6240 wiues, 802 and threescore 8346 concubines, 6370 and begate 3205 z8686 twentie 6242 and eight 8083 sonnes, 1121 and threescore 8346 daughters. 1323

 11:22 And Rehoboam 7346 made 5975 z8686 x853 Abiiah 29 the sonne 1121 of Maacah 4601 the chiefe, 7218 to be ruler 5057 among his brethren: 251 for x3588 [he thought] to make him king. 4427 z8687

 11:23 And he dealt wisely, 995 z8799 and dispersed 6555 z8799 of all x4480 x3605 his children 1121 throughout all x3605 the countries 776 of Iudah 3063 and Beniamin, 1144 vnto euery x3605 fenced 4694 citie: 5892 and he gaue 5414 z8799 them vitaile 4202 in abundance: 7230 and hee desired 7592 z8799 many 1995 wiues. 802
