2 Chronicles 18

1 Jehoshaphat, joined in affinity with Ahab, is persuaded to go with him against Ramoth-gilead. 4 Ahab, seduced by flase prophets, according to the word of Micaiah, is slain there.

 18:1 ¶ Now Iehoshaphat 3092 had x1961 riches 6239 and honour 3519 in abundance, 7230 and ioyned affinitie 2859 z8691 with Ahab. 256

 18:2 And after 7093 [certaine] yeeres, 8141 he went downe 3381 z8799 to x413 Ahab 256 to Samaria: 8111 and Ahab 256 killed 2076 z8799 sheepe 6629 and oxen 1241 for him in abundance, 7230 and for the people 5971 that x834 he had with x5973 him, and perswaded 5496 z8686 him to goe vp 5927 z8800 with him to x413 Ramoth Gilead. 7433 y1568

 18:3 And Ahab 256 king 4428 of Israel 3478 said 559 z8799 vnto x413 Iehoshaphat 3092 king 4428 of Iudah, 3063 Wilt thou goe y3212 z8799 x1980 with x5973 me to Ramoth Gilead? 7433 y1568 And he answered 559 z8799 him, I x3644 [am] as thou x3644 [art], and my people 5971 as thy people, 5971 and [we will be] with x5973 thee in the warre. 4421

 18:4 ¶ And Iehoshaphat 3092 saide 559 z8799 vnto x413 the king 4428 of Israel, 3478 Enquire, 1875 z8798 I pray thee, x4994 at x853 the word 1697 of the LORD 3068 to day. 3117

 18:5 Therefore the king 4428 of Israel 3478 gathered together 6908 z8799 x853 of prophets 5030 foure 702 hundred 3967 men, 376 and said 559 z8799 vnto x413 them, Shal we goe y3212 z8799 x1980 to x413 Ramoth Gilead 7433 y1568 to battel, 4421 or x518 shal I forbeare? 2308 z8799 And they said, 559 z8799 Goe vp, 5927 z8798 for God 430 will deliuer 5414 z8799 [it] into the kings 4428 hand. 3027

 18:6 But Iehoshaphat 3092 saide, 559 z8799 [Is] there not x369 here x6311 a Prophet 5030 of the LORD 3068 besides, x5750 that we might enquire 1875 z8799 of him? x4480 x854

 18:7 And the king 4428 of Israel 3478 said 559 z8799 vnto x413 Iehoshaphat, 3092 [There is] yet x5750 one 259 man, 376 by whom x4480 x854 we may enquire 1875 z8800 of x853 the LORD: 3068 but I x589 hate 8130 z8804 him, for x3588 he neuer x369 prophesied 5012 z8693 good 2896 vnto x5921 me, but x3588 alwayes 3117 x3605 euill: 7451 the same x1931 [is] Micaiah 4321 the sonne 1121 of Iimla. 3229 And Iehoshaphat 3092 saide, 559 z8799 Let not x408 the king 4428 say 559 z8799 so. x3651

 18:8 And the king 4428 of Israel 3478 called 7121 z8799 for x413 one 259 of his officers, 5631 and saide, 559 z8799 Fetch quickly 4116 z8761 Micaiah 4319 the sonne 1121 of Iimla. 3229

 18:9 And the king 4428 of Israel 3478 and Iehoshaphat 3092 king 4428 of Iudah 3063 sate, 3427 z8802 either 376 of them on x5921 his throne, 3678 clothed 3847 z8794 in their robes, 899 and they sate 3427 z8802 in a voide place 1637 at the entring in 6607 of the gate 8179 of Samaria, 8111 and all x3605 the prophets 5030 prophesied 5012 z8693 before 6440 them.

 18:10 And Zedekiah 6667 the sonne 1121 of Chenaanah, 3668 had made 6213 z8799 him hornes 7161 of yron, 1270 and said, 559 z8799 Thus x3541 saith 559 z8804 the LORD, 3068 With these x428 thou shalt push 5055 z8762 x853 Syria, 758 vntil x5704 they be consumed. 3615 z8763

 18:11 And all x3605 the prophets 5030 prophesied 5012 z8737 so, x3651 saying, 559 z8800 Goe vp 5927 z8798 to Ramoth Gilead, 7433 y1568 and prosper: 6743 z8685 for the LORD 3068 shall deliuer 5414 z8804 it into the hand 3027 of the king. 4428

 18:12 And the messenger 4397 that x834 went 1980 z8804 to call 7121 z8800 Micaiah, 4321 spake 1696 z8765 to x413 him, saying, 559 z8800 Behold, x2009 the words 1697 of the prophets 5030 [declare] good 2896 to x413 the king 4428 with one 259 assent: 6310 let thy word 1697 therefore, I pray thee x4994 be x1961 like one 259 of x4480 theirs, and speake 1696 z8765 thou good. 2896

 18:13 And Micaiah 4321 said, 559 z8799 As the LORD 3068 liueth, 2416 euen x3588 x853 what x834 my God 430 saith, 559 z8799 that will I speake. 1696 z8762

 18:14 And when hee was come 935 z8799 to x413 the king, 4428 the king 4428 sayd 559 z8799 vnto x413 him, Micaiah, 4318 shall we goe y3212 z8799 x1980 to x413 Ramoth Gilead 7433 y1568 to battell, 4421 or x518 shall I fobreare? 2308 z8799 and he sayd, 559 z8799 Goe yee vp, 5927 z8798 and prosper, 6743 z8685 and they shall be deliuered 5414 z8735 into your hand. 3027

 18:15 And the king 4428 sayd 559 z8799 to x413 him, Howe many x5704 x4100 times 6471 shall I x589 adiure 7650 z8688 thee, that x834 thou say 1696 z8762 nothing x3808 but x7535 the truth 571 to x413 me, in the name 8034 of the LORD? 3068

 18:16 Then he sayd, 559 z8799 I did see 7200 z8804 x853 all x3605 Israel 3478 scattered 6327 z8737 vpon x5921 the mountaines, 2022 as sheepe 6629 that x834 haue no x369 shepheard: 7462 z8802 and the LORD 3068 sayd, 559 z8799 These x428 haue no x3808 master, 113 let them returne 7725 z8799 [therefore], euery man 376 to his house 1004 in peace. 7965

 18:17 (And the king 4428 of Israel 3478 sayd 559 z8799 to x413 Iehoshaphat, 3092 Did I not x3808 tell 559 z8804 x413 thee, [that] hee would not x3808 prophesie 5012 z8691 good 2896 vnto x5921 mee, but x3588 x518 euill?) 7451

 18:18 Againe he sayd; 559 z8799 Therefore x3651 heare 8085 z8798 the word 1697 of the LORD: 3068 I sawe 7200 z8804 x853 the LORD 3068 sitting 3427 z8802 vpon x5921 his throne, 3678 and all x3605 the hoste 6635 of heauen 8064 standing 5975 z8802 on x5921 his right hand, 3225 and [on] his left. 8040

 18:19 And the LORD 3068 sayd, 559 z8799 Who x4310 shall entise 6601 z8762 x853 Ahab 256 king 4428 of Israel, 3478 that hee may goe vp 5927 z8799 and fall 5307 z8799 at Ramoth Gilead? 7433 y1568 And one x2088 spake, 559 z8799 saying 559 z8802 after this maner, 3602 and another x2088 saying 559 z8802 after that maner. 3602

 18:20 Then there came out 3318 z8799 a spirit, 7307 and stood 5975 z8799 before 6440 the LORD, 3068 and sayd, 559 z8799 I x589 will entise 6601 z8762 him. And the LORD 3068 sayd 559 z8799 vnto x413 him, Wherewith? x4100

 18:21 And hee sayd, 559 z8799 I will goe out, 3318 z8799 and be x1961 a lying 8267 spirit 7307 in the mouth 6310 of all x3605 his prophets. 5030 And the Lord sayd, 559 z8799 Thou shalt entise 6601 z8762 [him], and thou shalt also x1571 preuaile: 3201 z8799 goe out, 3318 z8798 and doe 6213 z8798 [euen] so. x3651

 18:22 Nowe x6258 therefore behold, x2009 the LORD 3068 hath put 5414 z8804 a lying 8267 spirit 7307 in the mouth 6310 of these x428 thy prophets, 5030 and the LORD 3068 hath spoken 1696 z8765 euill 7451 against x5921 thee.

 18:23 Then Zedekiah 6667 the sonne 1121 of Chenaanah, 3668 came neere, 5066 z8799 and smote 5221 z8686 x853 Micaiah 4321 vpon x5921 the cheeke, 3895 and sayd, 559 z8799 Which 335 x2088 way 1870 went 5674 z8804 the spirit 7307 of the LORD 3068 from x4480 x854 mee, to speake 1696 z8763 vnto x854 thee?

 18:24 And Micaiah 4321 sayd, 559 z8799 Behold, x2009 thou shalt see 7200 z8802 on that x1931 day, 3117 when x834 thou shalt goe 935 z8799 into an inner y2315 chamber 2315 to hide y2244 z8736 thy selfe. x2244

 18:25 Then the king 4428 of Israel 3478 sayd, 559 z8799 Take 3947 z8798 yee x853 Micaiah, 4321 and carie him backe 7725 z8685 to x413 Amon 526 the gouernour 8269 of the citie, 5892 and to x413 Ioash 3101 the kings 4428 sonne: 1121

 18:26 And say, 559 z8804 Thus x3541 saith 559 z8804 the king, 4428 Put 7760 z8798 this x2088 fellow in the prison, 1004 3608 and feede 398 z8685 him with bread 3899 of affliction, 3906 and with water 4325 of affliction, 3906 vntill x5704 I returne 7725 z8800 in peace. 7965

 18:27 And Micaiah 4321 sayd, 559 z8799 If x518 thou certainly y7725 z8800 returne 7725 z8799 in peace, 7965 then hath not x3808 the LORD 3068 spoken 1696 z8765 by mee. And hee sayd, 559 z8799 Hearken 8085 z8798 all x3605 yee people. 5971

 18:28 So the king 4428 of Israel, 3478 and Iehoshaphat 3092 the king 4428 of Iudah, 3063 went vp 5927 z8799 to x413 Ramoth Gilead. 7433 y1568

 18:29 And the king 4428 of Israel 3478 sayd 559 z8799 vnto x413 Iehoshaphat, 3092 I will disguise y2664 z8692 my selfe, x2664 and will goe 935 z8800 to the battell, 4421 but put y3847 z8798 thou on x859 x3847 thy robes. 899 So the king 4428 of Israel 3478 disguised y2664 z8691 himselfe, x2664 and they went 935 z8799 to the battell. 4421

 18:30 Now the king 4428 of Syria 758 had commaunded 6680 z8765 x853 the captaines 8269 of the charets 7393 that x834 [were] with him, saying, 559 z8800 Fight 3898 z8735 ye not x3808 with x854 small 6996 or x854 great, 1419 saue x3588 x518 onely x905 with x854 the king 4428 of Israel. 3478

 18:31 And it came to passe x1961 when the captaines 8269 of the charets 7393 saw 7200 z8800 x853 Iehoshaphat, 3092 that they x1992 sayd, 559 z8804 It x1931 is the king 4428 of Israel: 3478 therefore they compassed x5437 about y5437 z8799 x5921 him to fight. 3898 z8736 But Iehoshaphat 3092 cryed out, 2199 z8799 and the LORD 3068 helped 5826 z8804 him, and God 430 moued 5496 z8686 them [to depart] from x4480 him.

 18:32 For it came to passe, x1961 that when the captaines 8269 of the charets 7393 perceiued 7200 z8800 that x3588 it was x1961 not x3808 the king 4428 of Israel, 3478 they turned backe againe 7725 z8799 from pursuing 310 x4480 him.

 18:33 And a [certaine] man x376 drew 4900 z8804 a bowe 7198 at a venture, 8537 and smote 5221 z8686 x853 the king 4428 of Israel 3478 betweene x996 the ioints 1694 of the harnesse: 8302 therefore hee sayd 559 z8799 to his charetman, 7395 y376 Turne 2015 z8798 thine hand, 3027 that thou mayest carie me out 3318 z8689 of x4480 the hoste, 4264 for x3588 I am wounded. 2470 z8717

 18:34 And the battell 4421 increased 5927 z8799 that x1931 day: 3117 howbeit the king 4428 of Israel 3478 stayed [himselfe] vp 5975 z8689 x1961 in his charet 4818 against 5227 the Syrians, 758 vntill x5704 the Euen: 6153 and about the time 6256 of the sunne 8121 going downe, 935 z8800 hee dyed. 4191 z8799
