1 Samuel 9

1 Saul despairing to find his father's asses, 6 by the counsel of his servant, 11 and direction of young maidens, 15 according to God's revelation, 18 cometh to Samuel. 19 Samuel entertaineth Saul at the feast. 25 Samuel, after secret communication, bringeth Saul on his way.

 9:1 ¶ Now there was x1961 a man 376 of Beniamin, 1144 x4480 whose name 8034 was Kish, 7027 the sonne 1121 of Abiel, 22 the sonne 1121 of Zeror, 6872 the sonne 1121 of Bechorath, 1064 the sonne 1121 of Aphiah, 647 a Beniamite, 1145 a mighty y1368 man y376 x1368 of power. 2428

 9:2 And he had x1961 a sonne, 1121 whose name 8034 was Saul, 7586 a choice young man, 970 and a goodly: 2896 and [there was] not x369 among the children 1121 x4480 of Israel 3478 a goodlier 2896 person 376 then x4480 hee: from his shoulders 7926 x4480 and vpward, 4605 [hee was] higher 1364 then any x4480 x3605 of the people. 5971

 9:3 And the asses 860 of Kish, 7027 Sauls 7586 father, 1 were lost; 6 z8799 and Kish 7027 said 559 z8799 to x413 Saul 7586 his sonne, 1121 Take 3947 z8798 nowe x4994 x853 one 259 of the seruants 5288 x4480 with x854 thee, and arise, 6965 z8798 goe y3212 z8798 x1980 seeke 1245 z8761 x853 the asses. 860

 9:4 And he passed thorow 5674 z8799 mount 2022 Ephraim, 669 and passed thorow 5674 z8799 the land 776 of Shalisha, 8031 but they found 4672 z8804 [them] not: x3808 then they passed thorow 5674 z8799 the land 776 of Shalim, 8171 and [there] they [were] not: x369 and hee passed thorow 5674 z8799 the land 776 of the Beniamites, 1145 but they found 4672 z8804 [them] not. x3808

 9:5 [And] when they x1992 were come 935 z8804 to the land 776 of Zuph, 6689 Saul 7586 said 559 z8804 to his seruant 5288 that x834 was with x5973 him, Come, y3212 z8798 x1980 and let vs returne, 7725 z8799 lest x6435 my father 1 leaue 2308 z8799 [caring] for x4480 the asses, 860 and take thought 1672 z8804 for vs.

 9:6 And hee said 559 z8799 vnto him, Behold x2009 now, x4994 [there is] in this x2063 citie 5892 a man 376 of God, 430 and he [is] an honourable 3513 z8737 man; 376 all x3605 that x834 he saith, 1696 z8762 commeth y935 z8799 surely to passe: 935 z8800 Now x4994 let vs goe y3212 z8799 x1980 thither; x8033 peraduenture x194 he can shew 5046 z8686 vs x853 our way 1870 that x834 x5921 we should goe. 1980 z8804

 9:7 Then said 559 z8799 Saul 7586 to his seruaunt, 5288 But behold, x2009 [if] we goe, y3212 z8799 x1980 what x4100 shall wee bring 935 z8686 the man? 376 for x3588 the bread 3899 is spent 235 z8804 in our vessels, 3627 x4480 and there is not x369 a present 8670 to bring 935 z8687 to the man 376 of God: 430 What x4100 haue wee?

 9:8 And the seruant 5288 answered 6030 z8800 x853 Saul 7586 againe, 3254 z8686 and said, 559 z8799 Behold, x2009 I haue y4672 z8738 here x4672 at hand 3027 the fourth part 7253 of a shekel 8255 of siluer; 3701 that wil I giue 5414 z8804 to the man 376 of God, 430 to tell 5046 z8689 vs x853 our way. 1870

 9:9 (Beforetime 6440 in Israel, 3478 when a man 376 went y3212 z8800 x1980 to enquire 1875 z8800 of God, 430 thus x3541 he spake; 559 z8804 Come, y3212 z8798 x1980 and let vs go y3212 z8799 x1980 to x5704 the Seer: 7200 z8802 for x3588 he that is now 3117 [called] a Prophet, 5030 was beforetime 6440 called 7121 z8735 a Seer.) 7200 z8802

 9:10 Then said y1697 x559 Saul 7586 to his seruant, 5288 Wel 2896 said, y559 z8799 x1697 come, y3212 z8798 x1980 let vs go: y3212 z8799 x1980 so they went y3212 z8799 x1980 vnto x413 the city 5892 where x834 x8033 the man 376 of God 430 [was].

 9:11 ¶ And as they x1992 went vp 5927 z8802 the hill 4608 to the city, 5892 they x1992 found 4672 z8804 yong maydens 5291 going out 3318 z8802 to draw 7579 z8800 water, 4325 and said 559 z8799 vnto them, Is 3426 the Seer 7200 z8802 here? x2088

 9:12 And they answered 6030 z8799 them, and said, 559 z8799 He is: 3426 behold, x2009 [he is] before 6440 you, make haste 4116 z8761 now: x6258 for x3588 he came 935 z8804 to day 3117 to the citie; 5892 for x3588 there is a sacrifice 2077 of the people 5971 to day 3117 in the hie place. 1116

 9:13 Assoone as ye be come 935 z8800 into the citie, 5892 ye shall straightway 3651 finde 4672 z8799 him, before x2962 he goe vp 5927 z8799 to the high place 1116 to eate: 398 z8800 for x3588 the people 5971 will not x3808 eate 398 z8799 vntill x5704 hee come, 935 z8800 because x3588 he x1931 doth blesse 1288 z8762 the sacrifice, 2077 [and] afterwards 310 3651 they eat 398 z8799 that be bidden: 7121 z8803 Now x6258 therefore get you vp, 5927 z8798 for x3588 about this time 3117 ye shall finde 4672 z8799 him.

 9:14 And they went vp 5927 z8799 into y8432 the citie: 5892 and when they x1992 were come 935 z8802 into x8432 the citie, 5892 behold, x2009 Samuel 8050 came out 3318 z8802 against 7125 z8800 them, for to goe vp 5927 z8800 to the hie place. 1116

 9:15 ¶ Now the LORD 3068 had told 1540 z8804 Samuel 8050 in x854 his eare 241 a 259 day 3117 before 6440 Saul 7586 came, 935 z8800 saying, 559 z8800

 9:16 To morrow 4279 about this time 6256 I will send 7971 z8799 thee a man 376 out of the land 776 x4480 of Beniamin, 1144 and thou shalt anoynt 4886 z8804 him to be Captaine 5057 ouer x5921 my people 5971 Israel, 3478 that he may saue 3467 z8689 x853 my people 5971 out of the hand 3027 x4480 of the Philistines: 6430 for x3588 I haue looked y7200 z8804 vpon x7200 x853 my people, 5971 because x3588 their cry 6818 is come 935 z8804 vnto me. x413

 9:17 And when Samuel 8050 saw 7200 z8804 x853 Saul, 7586 the LORD 3068 said 6030 z8804 vnto him, Behold x2009 the man 376 whom x834 I spake 559 z8804 to x413 thee of: this same x2088 shall reigne 6113 z8799 ouer my people. 5971

 9:18 Then Saul 7586 drew neere 5066 z8799 to x853 Samuel 8050 in 8432 the gate, 8179 and said, 559 z8799 Tell 5046 z8685 me, I pray thee, x4994 where 335 x2088 the Seers 7200 z8802 house 1004 is.

 9:19 And Samuel 8050 answered 6030 z8799 x853 Saul, 7586 and said, 559 z8799 I x595 am the Seer: 7200 z8802 Goe vp 5927 z8798 before 6440 me vnto the high place, 1116 for ye shall eate 398 z8804 with x5973 me to day, 3117 and to morrow 1242 I will let thee goe, 7971 z8765 and will tell 5046 z8686 thee all x3605 that x834 is in thine heart. 3824

 9:20 And as for thine asses 860 that were lost 6 z8802 three 7969 dayes 3117 agoe, 3117 set 7760 z8799 not x408 x853 thy minde 3820 on them, for x3588 they are found: 4672 z8738 And on whom x4310 is all x3605 the desire 2532 of Israel? 3478 is it not x3808 on thee, & on all x3605 thy fathers 1 house? 1004

 9:21 And Saul 7586 answered, 6030 z8799 and said, 559 z8799 Am not x3808 I x595 a Beniamite, 1145 of the smallest 6996 x4480 of the tribes 7626 of Israel? 3478 and my family 4940 the least 6810 of all x4480 x3605 the families 4940 of the tribe 7626 of Beniamin? 1144 Wherefore x4100 then speakest 1696 z8765 thou so 1697 x2088 to x413 me?

 9:22 And Samuel 8050 tooke 3947 z8799 x853 Saul, 7586 and his seruant, 5288 and brought 935 z8686 them into the parlour, 3957 & made them sit 5414 z8799 in the chiefest 7218 place 4725 among them that were bidden, 7121 z8803 which x1992 were about thirtie 7970 persons. 376

 9:23 And Samuel 8050 said 559 z8799 vnto the cooke, 2876 Bring 5414 z8798 x853 the portion 4490 which x834 I gaue 5414 z8804 thee, of which x834 I said 559 z8804 vnto x413 thee, Set 7760 z8798 it by x5973 thee.

 9:24 And the cooke 2876 took vp 7311 z8686 x853 the shoulder, 7785 and that which was vpon x5921 it, and set 7760 z8799 it before 6440 Saul, 7586 and [Samuel] said, 559 z8799 Behold, x2009 that which is left, 7604 z8737 set 7760 z8798 it before 6440 thee, [and] eate: 398 z8798 for x3588 vnto this time 4150 hath it bene kept 8104 z8803 for thee, [since] I said 559 z8800 I haue inuited 7121 z8804 the people: 5971 So Saul 7586 did eat 398 z8799 with x5973 Samuel 8050 that x1931 day. 3117

 9:25 ¶ And when they were come downe 3381 z8799 from the high place 1116 x4480 into the citie, 5892 [Samuel] communed 1696 z8762 with x5973 Saul 7586 vpon x5921 the top of the house. 1406

 9:26 And they arose early: 7925 z8686 and it came to passe x1961 about the spring 5927 z8800 of the day, 7837 that Samuel 8050 called 7121 z8799 x413 Saul 7586 to the top of the house, 1406 saying, 559 z8800 Up, 6965 z8798 that I may send thee away: 7971 z8762 And Saul 7586 arose, 6965 z8799 and they went out 3318 z8799 both 8147 of them, hee x1931 and Samuel, 8050 abroad. 2351

 9:27 And [as] they x1992 were going downe 3381 z8802 to the end 7097 of the city, 5892 Samuel 8050 said 559 z8804 to x413 Saul, 7586 Bid 559 z8798 the seruant 5288 passe on 5674 z8799 before 6440 vs, (and he passed on) 5674 z8798 but stand y5975 z8798 thou still x5975 x859 a while, 3117 that I may shew 8085 z8686 thee x853 the word 1697 of God. 430
