1 Samuel 22

1 Companies resort unto David at Adullam. 3 At Mizpeh he commendeth his parents unto the king of Moab. 5 Admonished by Gad, he cometh to Hareth. 6 Saul, going to pursue him, complaineth of his servants' unfaithfulness. 9 Doeg accuseth Ahimelech. 11 Saul commandeth to kill the priests. 17 The footmen refusing, Doeg executeth it. 20 Abiathar escaping, bringeth David the news.

 22:1 ¶ Dauid 1732 therefore departed y3212 z8799 x1980 thence, x4480 x8033 and escaped 4422 z8735 to x413 the caue 4631 Adullam: 5725 and when his brethren, 251 and all x3605 his fathers 1 house 1004 heard 8085 z8799 it, they went downe 3381 z8799 thither x8033 to x413 him.

 22:2 And euery x3605 one 376 [that was] in distresse, 4689 and euery x3605 one 376 that x834 [was] in debt, 5378 z8801 and euery x3605 one 376 [that was] discontented, 4751 5315 gathered y6908 z8691 themselues x6908 vnto x413 him, and he became x1961 a captaine 8269 ouer x5921 them: and there were x1961 with x5973 him about foure 702 hundred 3967 men. 376

 22:3 ¶ And Dauid 1732 went y3212 z8799 x1980 thence x4480 x8033 to Mizpeh 4708 of Moab; 4124 and he said 559 z8799 vnto x413 the king 4428 of Moab, 4124 Let my father, 1 and my mother, 517 I pray thee, x4994 come foorth, 3318 z8799 [and be] with x854 you, till x5704 x834 I know 3045 z8799 what x4100 God 430 will doe 6213 z8799 for me.

 22:4 And he brought 5148 z8686 them x853 before 6440 the king 4428 of Moab: 4124 and they dwelt 3427 z8799 with x5973 him all x3605 the while 3117 that Dauid 1732 was x1961 in the hold. 4686

 22:5 ¶ And the Prophet 5030 Gad 1410 said 559 z8799 vnto x413 Dauid, 1732 Abide 3427 z8799 not x3808 in the hold; 4686 depart, y3212 z8798 x1980 and get 935 z8804 thee into the land 776 of Iudah. 3063 Then Dauid 1732 departed, y3212 z8799 x1980 and came 935 z8799 into the forrest 3293 of Hareth. 2802

 22:6 ¶ When Saul 7586 heard 8085 z8799 that x3588 Dauid 1732 was discouered, 3045 z8738 and the men y582 x376 that x834 [were] with x854 him: (now Saul 7586 abode 3427 z8802 in Gibeah 1390 vnder x8478 a tree 815 in Ramah, 7414 hauing his speare 2595 in his hand, 3027 and all x3605 his seruants 5650 were standing 5324 z8737 about x5921 him.)

 22:7 Then Saul 7586 saide 559 z8799 vnto his seruants 5650 that stood 5324 z8737 about x5921 him, Heare x8085 now, y8085 z8798 x4994 ye Beniamites: 1145 Will the sonne 1121 of Iesse 3448 giue 5414 z8799 euery one x3605 of you fields, 7704 and Uineyards, 3754 [and] make 7760 z8799 you all x3605 captaines 8269 of thousands, 505 and captaines 8269 of hundreds: 3967

 22:8 That x3588 all x3605 of you haue conspired 7194 z8804 against x5921 me, and there is none x369 that sheweth 1540 241 z8802 x853 mee, that my sonne 1121 hath made a league 3772 z8800 with x5973 the sonne 1121 of Iesse, 3448 and there is none x369 of x4480 you that is sory 2470 z8802 for x5921 me, or sheweth y1540 z8802 y241 vnto x1540 x853 x241 me that x3588 my sonne 1121 hath stirred vp 6965 z8689 x853 my seruant 5650 against x5921 me, to lye in wait, 693 z8802 as at this x2088 day? 3117

 22:9 ¶ Then answered 6030 z8799 Doeg 1673 the Edomite, 130 (which x1931 was set 5324 z8737 ouer x5921 the seruants 5650 of Saul) 7586 and saide, 559 z8799 I saw 7200 z8804 x853 the sonne 1121 of Iesse 3448 comming 935 z8802 to Nob, 5011 to x413 Ahimelech 288 the sonne 1121 of Ahitub. 285

 22:10 And hee enquired 7592 z8799 of the LORD 3068 for him, and gaue 5414 z8804 him victuals, 6720 and gaue 5414 z8804 him the sword 2719 of Goliath 1555 the Philistine. 6430

 22:11 Then the king 4428 sent 7971 z8799 to call 7121 z8800 x853 Ahimelech 288 the Priest, 3548 the sonne 1121 of Ahitub, 285 and all x3605 his fathers 1 house, 1004 the Priests 3548 that x834 [were] in Nob: 5011 and they came 935 z8799 all x3605 of them to x413 the king. 4428

 22:12 And Saul 7586 said, 559 z8799 Heare 8085 z8798 now x4994 thou sonne 1121 of Ahitub: 285 and hee answered, 559 z8799 Here x2009 I am, my lord. 113

 22:13 And Saul 7586 saide 559 z8799 vnto x413 him, Why x4100 haue ye conspired 7194 z8804 against x5921 me, thou x859 and the sonne 1121 of Iesse, 3448 in that thou hast giuen 5414 z8800 him bread, 3899 and a sword, 2719 and hast enquired 7592 z8800 of God 430 for him, that he should rise 6965 z8800 against x413 mee, to lye in waite, 693 z8802 as at this x2088 day? 3117

 22:14 Then Ahimelech 288 answered 6030 z8799 x853 the king, 4428 and said, 559 z8799 And who x4310 is [so] faithfull 539 z8737 among all x3605 thy seruants, 5650 as Dauid, 1732 which is the kings 4428 sonne in law, 2860 and goeth 5493 z8804 at x413 thy bidding, 4928 and is honourable 3513 z8737 in thine house? 1004

 22:15 Did I then 3117 beginne 2490 z8689 to enquire 7592 z8800 of God 430 for him? be it farre x2486 from mee: y2486 let not x408 the king 4428 impute 7760 z8799 any thing 1697 vnto his seruant, 5650 [nor] to all x3605 the house 1004 of my father: 1 for x3588 thy seruant 5650 knew 3045 z8804 nothing y1697 x3808 of all x3605 this, x2063 lesse 6996 or x176 more. 1419

 22:16 And the king 4428 saide, 559 z8799 Thou shalt surely y4191 z8800 die, 4191 z8799 Ahimelech, 288 thou, x859 and all x3605 thy fathers 1 house. 1004

 22:17 ¶ And the king 4428 said 559 z8799 vnto the footmen 7323 z8801 that stood 5324 z8737 about x5921 him, Turne 5437 z8798 and slay 4191 z8685 the Priests 3548 of the LORD, 3068 because x3588 their hand 3027 also x1571 [is] with x5973 Dauid, 1732 and because x3588 they knew 3045 z8804 when x3588 he x1931 fled, 1272 z8802 and did not x3808 shew 1540 z8804 y241 x853 it to mee. x241 But the seruants 5650 of the king 4428 would 14 z8804 not x3808 put foorth 7971 z8800 x853 their hand 3027 to fall 6293 z8800 vpon the Priestes 3548 of the LORD. 3068

 22:18 And the king 4428 said 559 z8799 to Doeg, 1673 Turne 5437 z8798 thou x859 and fall 6293 z8798 vpon the Priests. 3548 And Doeg 1673 the Edomite 130 turned, 5437 z8735 and hee x1931 fell 6293 z8799 vpon the Priests, 3548 and slew 4191 z8686 on that x1931 day 3117 foure score 8084 and fiue 2568 persons 376 that did weare 5375 z8802 a linnen 906 Ephod. 646

 22:19 And Nob 5011 the citie 5892 of the Priests 3548 smote 5221 z8689 he with the edge 6310 of the sword, 2719 both men 376 x4480 and women, 802 children 5768 x4480 and sucklings, 3243 z8802 and oxen 7794 and asses, 2543 and sheepe, 7716 with the edge 6310 of the sword. 2719

 22:20 ¶ And one 259 of the sonnes 1121 of Ahimelech, 288 the sonne 1121 of Ahitub, 285 named 8034 Abiathar, 54 escaped 4422 z8735 and fled 1272 z8799 after 310 Dauid: 1732

 22:21 And Abiathar 54 shewed 5046 z8686 Dauid 1732 that x3588 Saul 7586 had slaine 2026 z8804 x853 the LORDS 3068 Priests. 3548

 22:22 And Dauid 1732 said 559 z8799 vnto Abiathar, 54 I knew 3045 z8804 [it] that x1931 day, 3117 when x3588 Doeg 1673 the Edomite 130 was there, x8033 that x3588 he would surely y5046 z8687 tell 5046 z8686 Saul: 7586 I x595 haue occasioned 5437 z8804 [the death] of all x3605 the persons 5315 of thy fathers 1 house. 1004

 22:23 Abide 3427 z8798 thou with x854 me, feare 3372 z8799 not: x408 for x3588 he that x834 seeketh 1245 z8762 x853 my life, 5315 seeketh 1245 z8762 x853 thy life: 5315 but x3588 with x5973 me thou x859 shalt bee in safegard. 4931
