1 Samuel 11

1 Nahash offereth them of Jabesh-gilead a reproachful condition. 4 They send messengers, and are delivered by Saul. 12 Saul thereby is confirmed, and his kingdom renewed.

 11:1 ¶ Then Nahash 5176 the Ammonite 5984 came vp, 5927 z8799 and encamped 2583 z8799 against x5921 Iabesh Gilead: 3003 1568 and all x3605 the men y582 x376 of Iabesh 3003 sayde 559 z8799 vnto x413 Nahash, 5176 Make 3772 z8798 a couenant 1285 with vs, and we will serue 5647 z8799 thee.

 11:2 And Nahash 5176 the Ammonite 5984 answered 559 z8799 x413 them, On this 2063 condition will I make 3772 z8799 a couenant with you, that I may thrust out 5365 z8800 all x3605 your right 3225 eyes, 5869 and lay 7760 z8804 it for a reproch 2781 vpon x5921 all x3605 Israel. 3478

 11:3 And the Elders 2205 of Iabesh 3003 sayd 559 z8799 vnto x413 him, Giue vs seuen 7651 daies 3117 respite, 7503 z8685 that we may send 7971 z8799 messengers 4397 vnto all x3605 the coasts 1366 of Israel: 3478 and then, if x518 there be no man x369 to saue 3467 z8688 vs, we will come out 3318 z8804 to x413 thee.

 11:4 ¶ Then came 935 z8799 the messengers 4397 to Gibeah 1390 of Saul, 7586 and told 1696 z8762 the tidings 1697 in the eares 241 of the people: 5971 and all x3605 the people 5971 lift vp 5375 z8799 x853 their voyces, 6963 and wept. 1058 z8799

 11:5 And behold, x2009 Saul 7586 came 935 z8804 after 310 the herd 1241 out of x4480 the field, 7704 and Saul 7586 sayd, 559 z8799 What x4100 aileth the people 5971 that x3588 they weep? 1058 z8799 and they told 5608 z8762 him x853 the tidings 1697 of the men y582 x376 of Iabesh. 3003

 11:6 And the Spirit 7307 of God 430 came 6743 z8799 vpon x5921 Saul, 7586 when he heard 8085 z8800 x853 those x428 tydings, 1697 and his anger 639 was kindled 2734 z8799 greatly. 3966

 11:7 And he tooke 3947 z8799 a yoke 6776 of oxen, 1241 and hewed them in pieces, 5408 z8762 and sent 7971 z8762 them throughout all x3605 the coasts 1366 of Israel 3478 by the hands 3027 of messengers, 4397 saying, 559 z8800 Whosoeuer x834 commeth not foorth 3318 z8802 x369 after 310 Saul 7586 and after 310 Samuel, 8050 so x3541 shall it bee done 6213 z8735 vnto his oxen: 1241 and the feare 6343 of the LORD 3068 fell 5307 z8799 on x5921 the people, 5971 and they came out 3318 z8799 with one 259 consent. 376

 11:8 And when he numbred 6485 z8799 them in Bezek, 966 the children 1121 of Israel 3478 were x1961 three 7969 hundred 3967 thousand, 505 and the men 376 of Iudah 3063 thirty 7970 thousand. 505

 11:9 And they said 559 z8799 vnto the messengers 4397 that came, 935 z8802 Thus x3541 shall yee say 559 z8799 vnto the men 376 of Iabesh Gilead, 3003 1568 To morrow 4279 by that time the sunne 8121 be hote, 2527 ye shal haue x1961 helpe. 8668 And the messengers 4397 came, 935 z8799 and shewed 5046 z8686 it to the men y582 x376 of Iabesh, 3003 and they were glad. 8055 z8799

 11:10 Therfore the men y582 x376 of Iabesh 3003 said, 559 z8799 To morrow 4279 wee will come out 3318 z8799 vnto x413 you, and ye shall doe 6213 z8804 with vs all x3605 that seemeth 5869 good 2896 vnto you.

 11:11 And it was x1961 so on the morrow, 4283 x4480 that Saul 7586 put 7760 z8799 x853 the people 5971 in three 7969 copanies, 7218 and they came 935 z8799 into the midst 8432 of the host 4264 in the morning 1242 watch, 821 and slewe 5221 z8686 x853 the Ammonites, 5983 vntill x5704 the heat 2527 of the day: 3117 and it came to passe, x1961 that they which remained 7604 z8737 were scattered, 6327 z8799 so that two 8147 of them were not x3808 left 7604 z8738 together. 3162

 11:12 ¶ And the people 5971 said 559 z8799 vnto x413 Samuel, 8050 Who x4310 is he that said, 559 z8802 Shall Saul 7586 reigne 4427 z8799 ouer x5921 vs? bring 5414 z8798 the men, y582 x376 that we may put them to death. 4191 z8686

 11:13 And Saul 7586 said, 559 z8799 There shall not x3808 a man 376 be put to death 4191 z8714 this x2088 day: 3117 for x3588 to day 3117 the LORD 3068 hath wrought 6213 z8804 saluation 8668 in Israel. 3478

 11:14 Then said 559 z8799 Samuel 8050 to x413 the people, 5971 Come, y3212 z8798 x1980 and let vs goe y3212 z8799 x1980 to Gilgal, 1537 and renew 2318 z8762 the kingdome 4410 there. x8033

 11:15 And all x3605 the people 5971 went y3212 z8799 x1980 to Gilgal, 1537 and there x8033 they made Saul y7586 King 4427 z8686 x853 x7586 before 6440 the LORD 3068 in Gilgal: 1537 and there x8033 they sacrificed 2076 z8799 sacrifices 2077 of peace offerings 8002 before 6440 the LORD: 3068 and there x8033 Saul 7586 and all x3605 the men y582 x376 of Israel 3478 reioyced 8055 z8799 greatly. 3966
