1 Chronicles 17

1 Nathan first approving the purpose of David to build God an house, 3 after by the Word of God forbiddeth him. 11 He promiseth him blessings and benefits in his seed. 16 David's prayer and thanksgiving.

 17:1 ¶ Now it came to passe, x1961 as x834 Dauid 1732 sate 3427 z8804 in his house, 1004 that Dauid 1732 sayde 559 z8799 to x413 Nathan 5416 the Prophet, 5030 Loe, x2009 I x595 dwell 3427 z8802 in an house 1004 of Cedars, 730 but the Arke 727 of the Couenant 1285 of the LORD 3068 [remaineth] vnder x8478 curtaines. 3407

 17:2 Then Nathan 5416 sayd 559 z8799 vnto x413 Dauid, 1732 Doe 6213 z8798 all x3605 that x834 is in thine heart, 3824 for x3588 God 430 [is] with x5973 thee.

 17:3 ¶ And it came to passe x1961 the same x1931 night, 3915 that the word 1697 of God 430 came x1961 to x413 Nathan, 5416 saying, 559 z8800

 17:4 Goe y3212 z8798 x1980 and tell 559 z8804 x413 Dauid 1732 my seruant, 5650 Thus x3541 saith 559 z8804 the LORD, 3068 Thou x859 shalt not x3808 build 1129 z8799 me an house 1004 to dwell in. 3427 z8800

 17:5 For x3588 I haue not x3808 dwelt x3427 in y3427 z8804 a house 1004 since x4480 the day 3117 that x834 I brought vp 5927 z8689 x853 Israel, 3478 vnto x5704 this x2088 day, 3117 but haue gone x1961 from tent 168 x4480 to x413 tent, 168 and from one Tabernacle 4908 x4480 [to another].

 17:6 Wheresoeuer x3605 x834 I haue walked 1980 z8694 with all x3605 Israel, 3478 spake 1696 z8765 I a word 1697 to x854 any 259 of the Iudges 8199 z8802 of Israel 3478 (whom x834 I commanded 6680 z8765 to feed 7462 z8800 x853 my people) 5971 saying, 559 z8800 Why x4100 haue ye not x3808 built 1129 z8804 me an house 1004 of Cedars? 730

 17:7 Now x6258 therefore thus x3541 shalt thou say 559 z8799 vnto my seruant 5650 Dauid, 1732 Thus x3541 saith 559 z8804 the LORD 3068 of hosts, 6635 I x589 tooke 3947 z8804 thee from x4480 the [Sheep] -coat, 5116 [euen] from x4480 folowing 310 the sheep, 6629 that thou shouldest be x1961 ruler 5057 ouer x5921 my people 5971 Israel: 3478

 17:8 And I haue bene x1961 with x5973 thee whithersoeuer x3605 x834 thou hast walked, 1980 z8804 and haue cut off 3772 z8686 x853 all x3605 thine enemies 341 z8802 from before 6440 x4480 thee, and haue made 6213 z8804 thee a name, 8034 like the name 8034 of the great men 1419 that x834 [are] in the earth. 776

 17:9 Also I will ordeine 7760 z8804 a place 4725 for my people 5971 Israel, 3478 and will plant 5193 z8804 them, and they shall dwell 7931 z8804 in their place, x8478 and shall be moued 7264 z8799 no x3808 more: x5750 neither x3808 shal the children 1121 of wickednesse 5766 waste 1086 z8763 them any more 3254 z8686 (as x834 at the beginning, 7223

 17:10 And since the time 3117 x4480 that x834 I commanded 6680 z8765 Iudges 8199 z8802 [to bee] ouer x5921 my people 5971 Israel.) 3478 Moreouer, I will subdue 3665 z8689 x853 all x3605 thine enemies. 341 z8802 Furthermore I tel 5046 z8686 thee, that the LORD 3068 will build 1129 z8799 thee an house. 1004

 17:11 ¶ And it shall come to passe, x1961 when x3588 thy dayes 3117 be expired, 4390 z8804 that thou must go y3212 z8800 x1980 [to be] with x5973 thy fathers, 1 that I will raise vp 6965 z8689 x853 thy seed 2233 after 310 thee, which x834 shall bee x1961 of thy sonnes, 1121 x4480 and I wil stablish 3559 z8689 x853 his kingdome. 4438

 17:12 He x1931 shall build 1129 z8799 me an house, 1004 and I will stablish 3559 z8790 x853 his throne 3678 for y5704 euer. 5769 x5704

 17:13 I x589 will be x1961 his father, 1 and he x1931 shall be x1961 my sonne, 1121 and I will not x3808 take y5493 z0 my mercie y2617 away 5493 z8686 x2617 from x4480 x5973 him, as x834 I tooke 5493 z8689 it from [him] that x4480 x834 was x1961 before 6440 thee.

 17:14 But I will settle 5975 z8689 him in mine house, 1004 and in my kingdom 4438 for euer, 5769 x5704 and his throne 3678 shall bee x1961 established 3559 z8737 for y5704 euermore. 5769 x5704

 17:15 According to all x3605 these x428 words, 1697 and according to all x3605 this x2088 vision, 2377 so x3651 did Nathan 5416 speake 1696 z8765 vnto x413 Dauid. 1732

 17:16 ¶ And Dauid 1732 the king 4428 came, 935 z8799 and sate 3427 z8799 before 6440 the LORD, 3068 and said, 559 z8799 Who x4310 [am] I, x589 O LORD 3068 God, 430 and what x4310 [is] mine house, 1004 that x3588 thou hast brought 935 z8689 mee hitherto? 1988 x5704

 17:17 And [yet] this x2063 was a small thing 6994 z8799 in thine eyes, 5869 O God: 430 for thou hast [also] spoken 1696 z8762 of x5921 thy seruants 5650 house, 1004 for a great while to come, 7350 x4480 and hast regarded 7200 z8804 mee according to the estate 8448 of a man 120 of high degree, 4609 O LORD 3068 God. 430

 17:18 What x4100 can y3254 z0 Dauid 1732 [speake] more 3254 z8686 x5750 to x413 thee for the honour 3519 of x853 thy seruant? 5650 for thou x859 knowest 3045 z8804 x853 thy seruant. 5650

 17:19 O LORD, 3068 for thy seruants y5650 sake, x5668 x5650 and according to thine owne heart, 3820 hast thou done 6213 z8804 x853 all x3605 this x2063 greatnesse 1420 in making knowen 3045 z8687 x853 all x3605 these great things. 1420

 17:20 O LORD, 3068 [there is] none x369 like thee x3644 neither x369 [is there] any God 430 besides 2108 thee, according to all x3605 that x834 we haue heard 8085 z8804 with our eares. 241

 17:21 And what x4310 one 259 nation 1471 in the earth 776 [is] like thy people 5971 Israel, 3478 whome x834 God 430 went 1980 z8804 to redeeme 6299 z8800 [to be] his owne people, 5971 to make 7760 z8800 thee a name 8034 of greatnesse 1420 and terriblenesse, 3372 z8737 by driuing out 1644 z8763 nations 1471 from before 6440 x4480 thy people 5971 whom x834 thou hast redeemed 6299 z8804 out of Egypt? 4714 x4480

 17:22 For x853 thy people 5971 Israel 3478 didst thou make 5414 z8799 thine owne people 5971 for y5704 euer, 5769 x5704 and thou, x859 LORD, 3068 becamest x1961 their God. 430

 17:23 Therefore now x6258 LORD, 3068 let the thing 1697 that x834 thou hast spoken 1696 z8765 concerning x5921 thy seruant, 5650 and concerning x5921 his house, 1004 be established 539 z8735 for y5704 euer, 5769 x5704 and doe 6213 z8798 as x834 thou hast said. 1696 z8765

 17:24 Let it euen bee established, 539 z8735 that thy name 8034 may bee magnified 1431 z8799 for y5704 euer, 5769 x5704 saying, 559 z8800 The LORD 3068 of hosts 6635 [is] the God 430 of Israel, 3478 [euen] a God 430 to Israel: 3478 and let the house 1004 of Dauid 1732 thy seruant 5650 be established 3559 z8737 before 6440 thee.

 17:25 For x3588 thou, x859 O my God, 430 hast tolde 1540 241 z8804 x853 thy seruant 5650 that thou wilt build 1129 z8800 him an house: 1004 therefore x5921 x3651 thy seruant 5650 hath found 4672 z8804 [in his heart] to pray 6419 z8692 before 6440 thee.

 17:26 And now, x6258 LORD 3068 (thou x859 art God, 430 and hast promised 1696 z8762 this x2063 goodnesse 2896 vnto x5921 thy seruant.) 5650

 17:27 Now x6258 therefore let it please 2974 z8689 thee to blesse 1288 z8763 x853 the house 1004 of thy seruant, 5650 that it may bee x1961 before 6440 thee for euer: 5769 for x3588 thou x859 blessest, 1288 z8765 O LORD, 3068 and it [shalbe] blessed 1288 z8794 for euer. 5769
