1 Chronicles 10

1 Saul's overthrow and death. 8 The Philistines triumph over Saul. 11 The kindness of Jabesh-gilead towards Saul and his sons. 13 Saul's sin, for which the kingdom was translated from him to David.

 10:1 ¶ Nowe the Philistines 6430 fought 3898 z8738 against Israel, 3478 and the men 376 of Israel 3478 fled 5127 z8799 from before 6440 x4480 the Philistines, 6430 and fell downe 5307 z8799 slaine 2491 in mount 2022 Gilboa. 1533

 10:2 And the Philistines 6430 followed hard 1692 z8686 after 310 Saul, 7586 and after 310 his sonnes, 1121 and the Philistines 6430 slew 5221 z8686 x853 Ionathan, 3129 and Abinadab, 41 and Malchishua, 4444 the sonnes 1121 of Saul. 7586

 10:3 And the battell 4421 went sore 3513 z8799 against x5921 Saul, 7586 and the archers 3384 7198 z8688 hit 4672 z8799 him, and he was wounded 2342 z8799 of x4480 the archers. 3384 z8802

 10:4 Then saide 559 z8799 Saul 7586 to x413 his armour bearer, 5375 3627 z8802 Draw 8025 z8798 thy sword, 2719 and thrust y1856 z8798 me through x1856 therewith, lest x6435 these x428 vncircumcised 6189 come, 935 z8799 and abuse 5953 z8694 mee: but his armour bearer 5375 3627 z8802 would 14 z8804 not, x3808 for x3588 he was sore y3966 afraid. 3372 z8804 x3966 So Saul 7586 tooke 3947 z8799 x853 a sword, 2719 and fell 5307 z8799 vpon x5921 it.

 10:5 And when his armour bearer 5375 3627 z8802 saw 7200 z8799 that x3588 Saul 7586 was dead, 4191 z8804 hee x1931 fell 5307 z8799 likewise x1571 on x5921 the sword, 2719 and died. 4191 z8799

 10:6 So Saul 7586 died, 4191 z8799 and his three 7969 sonnes, 1121 and all x3605 his house 1004 died 4191 z8804 together. 3162

 10:7 And when all x3605 the men 376 of Israel 3478 that x834 [were] in the valley, 6010 saw 7200 z8799 that x3588 they fled, 5127 z8804 and that x3588 Saul 7586 and his sonnes 1121 were dead: 4191 z8804 then they forsooke 5800 z8799 their cities, 5892 and fled, 5127 z8799 and the Philistines 6430 came 935 z8799 and dwelt 3427 z8799 in them.

 10:8 ¶ And it came to passe x1961 on x4480 the morrow, 4283 when the Philistines 6430 came 935 z8799 to strip 6584 z8763 x853 the slaine, 2491 that they found 4672 z8799 x853 Saul 7586 and his sonnes 1121 fallen 5307 z8802 in mount 2022 Gilboa. 1533

 10:9 And when they had stripped 6584 z8686 him, they tooke 5375 z8799 x853 his head, 7218 and his armour, 3627 and sent 7971 z8762 into the land 776 of the Philistines 6430 round about, 5439 to cary tidings 1319 z8763 x853 vnto their idoles, 6091 and to the people. 5971

 10:10 And they put 7760 z8799 x853 his armour 3627 in the house 1004 of their gods, 430 and fastened 8628 z8804 his head 1538 in the temple 1004 of Dagon. 1712

 10:11 ¶ And when all x3605 Iabesh Gilead 3003 1568 heard 8085 z8799 x853 all x3605 that x834 the Philistines 6430 had done 6213 z8804 to Saul: 7586

 10:12 They arose, 6965 z8799 all x3605 the valiant 2428 men, 376 and tooke away 5375 z8799 x853 the body 1480 of Saul, 7586 and the bodies 1480 of his sonnes, 1121 and brought 935 z8686 them to Iabesh, 3003 and buried 6912 z8799 x853 their bones 6106 vnder x8478 the oke 424 in Iabesh, 3003 and fasted 6684 z8799 seuen 7651 dayes. 3117

 10:13 ¶ So Saul 7586 died 4191 z8799 for his transgression 4604 which x834 hee committed 4603 z8804 against the LORD, 3068 [euen] against x5921 the word 1697 of the LORD 3068 which x834 he kept 8104 z8804 not, x3808 and also x1571 for asking 7592 z8800 [counsel] of one that had a familiar spirit, 178 to enquire 1875 z8800 [of it]:

 10:14 And enquired 1875 z8804 not x3808 of the LORD: 3068 therefore he slew 4191 z8686 him, and turned 5437 z8686 x853 the kingdome 4410 vnto Dauid 1732 the sonne 1121 of Iesse. 3448
