Jeremiah 43

1 Johanan, discrediting Jeremiah's prophecy, carrieth Jeremiah and others into Egypt. 8 Jeremiah prophesieth by a type the conquest of Egypt by the Babylonians.

 43:2 Then spake 559 z8799 Azariah 5838 the son 1121 of Hoshaiah, 1955 and Johanan 3110 the son 1121 of Kareah, 7143 and all x3605 the proud 2086 men, y582 x376 saying 559 z8802 unto x413 Jeremiah, 3414 Thou x859 speakest 1696 z8764 falsely: 8267 the LORD 3068 our God 430 hath not x3808 sent 7971 z8804 thee to say, 559 z8800 Go 935 z8799 not x3808 into Egypt 4714 to sojourn 1481 z8800 there: x8033

 43:3 But x3588 Baruch 1263 the son 1121 of Neriah 5374 setteth thee on 5496 z8688 x853 against us, for x4616 to y4616 deliver 5414 z8800 us into the hand 3027 of the Chaldeans, 3778 that they might put us to death, 4191 z8687 x853 and carry us away captives 1540 z8687 x853 into Babylon. 894

 43:4 So Johanan 3110 the son 1121 of Kareah, 7143 and all x3605 the captains 8269 of the forces, 2428 and all x3605 the people, 5971 obeyed 8085 z8804 not x3808 the voice 6963 of the LORD, 3068 to dwell 3427 z8800 in the land 776 of Judah. 3063

 43:5 But Johanan 3110 the son 1121 of Kareah, 7143 and all x3605 the captains 8269 of the forces, 2428 took 3947 z8799 x853 all x3605 the remnant 7611 of Judah, 3063 that x834 were returned 7725 z8804 from all x4480 x3605 nations, 1471 whither x834 x8033 they had been driven, 5080 z8738 to dwell 1481 z8800 in the land 776 of Judah; 3063

 43:6 [Even] x853 men, 1397 and women, 802 and children, 2945 and the king's 4428 daughters, 1323 and every x3605 person 5315 that x834 Nebuzaradan 5018 the captain 7227 of the guard 2876 had left y3240 z8689 x5117 with x854 Gedaliah 1436 the son 1121 of Ahikam 296 the son 1121 of Shaphan, 8227 and Jeremiah 3414 the prophet, 5030 and Baruch 1263 the son 1121 of Neriah. 5374

 43:7 So they came y935 z8799 into x935 the land 776 of Egypt: 4714 for x3588 they obeyed 8085 z8804 not x3808 the voice 6963 of the LORD: 3068 thus came 935 z8799 they [even] to x5704 Tahpanhes. 8471

 43:8 ¶ Then came x1961 the word 1697 of the LORD 3068 unto x413 Jeremiah 3414 in Tahpanhes, 8471 saying, 559 z8800

 43:9 Take 3947 z8798 great 1419 stones 68 in thine hand, 3027 and hide 2934 z8804 them in the clay 4423 in the brickkiln, 4404 which x834 [is] at the entry 6607 of Pharaoh's 6547 house 1004 in Tahpanhes, 8471 in the sight 5869 of the men y582 x376 of Judah; 3064

 43:10 And say 559 z8804 unto x413 them, Thus x3541 saith 559 z8804 the LORD 3068 of hosts, 6635 the God 430 of Israel; 3478 Behold, x2009 I will send 7971 z8802 and take 3947 z8804 x853 Nebuchadrezzar 5019 the king 4428 of Babylon, 894 my servant, 5650 and will set 7760 z8804 his throne 3678 upon 4605 x4480 these x428 stones 68 that x834 I have hid; 2934 z8804 and he shall spread 5186 z8804 x853 his royal pavilion 8237 over x5921 them.

 43:11 And when he cometh, 935 z8804 he shall smite 5221 z8689 x853 the land 776 of Egypt, 4714 [and deliver] such x834 [as are] for death 4194 to death; 4194 and such x834 [as are] for captivity 7628 to captivity; 7628 and such x834 [as are] for the sword 2719 to the sword. 2719

 43:12 And I will kindle 3341 z8689 a fire 784 in the houses 1004 of the gods 430 of Egypt; 4714 and he shall burn 8313 z8804 them, and carry them away captives: 7617 z8804 and he shall array y5844 z8804 himself x5844 with x854 the land 776 of Egypt, 4714 as x834 a shepherd 7462 z8802 putteth on 5844 z8799 x853 his garment; 899 and he shall go forth 3318 z8804 from thence x4480 x8033 in peace. 7965

 43:13 He shall break 7665 z8765 also x853 the images 4676 of Bethshemesh, 1053 that x834 [is] in the land 776 of Egypt; 4714 and the houses 1004 of the gods 430 of the Egyptians 4714 shall he burn 8313 z8799 with fire. 784
