Jeremiah 39

1 Jerusalem is taken. 4 Zedekiah is made blind, and sent to Babylon. 8 The city ruinated, 9 the people captivated. 11 Nebuchadrezzar's charge for the good usage of Jeremiah. 15 God's promise to Ebed-melech.

 39:1 ¶ In the ninth 8671 year 8141 of Zedekiah 6667 king 4428 of Judah, 3063 in the tenth 6224 month, 2320 came 935 z8804 Nebuchadrezzar 5019 king 4428 of Babylon 894 and all x3605 his army 2428 against x413 Jerusalem, 3389 and they besieged 6696 z8799 it.

 39:2 [And] in the eleventh 6249 6240 year 8141 of Zedekiah, 6667 in the fourth 7243 month, 2320 the ninth 8672 [day] of the month, 2320 the city 5892 was broken up. 1234 z8717

 39:3 And all x3605 the princes 8269 of the king 4428 of Babylon 894 came in, 935 z8799 and sat 3427 z8799 in the middle 8432 gate, 8179 [even] Nergalsharezer, 5371 Samgarnebo, 5562 Sarsechim, 8310 Rabsaris, 7249 Nergalsharezer, 5371 Rabmag, 7248 with all x3605 the residue 7611 of the princes 8269 of the king 4428 of Babylon. 894

 39:4 ¶ And it came to pass, x1961 [that] when x834 Zedekiah 6667 the king 4428 of Judah 3063 saw 7200 z8804 them, and all x3605 the men y582 x376 of war, 4421 then they fled, 1272 z8799 and went forth 3318 z8799 out of x4480 the city 5892 by night, 3915 by the way 1870 of the king's 4428 garden, 1588 by the gate 8179 betwixt x996 the two walls: 2346 and he went out 3318 z8799 the way 1870 of the plain. 6160

 39:8 ¶ And the Chaldeans 3778 burned 8313 z8804 the king's 4428 house, 1004 and the houses 1004 of the people, 5971 with fire, 784 and brake down 5422 z8804 the walls 2346 of Jerusalem. 3389

 39:12 Take 3947 z8798 him, and look well 5869 7760 z8798 to x5921 him, and do 6213 z8799 him no x408 x3972 harm; 7451 y3972 but x3588 x518 do 6213 z8798 unto x5973 him even x3651 as x834 he shall say 1696 z8762 unto x413 thee.

 39:13 So Nebuzaradan 5018 the captain 7227 of the guard 2876 sent, 7971 z8799 and Nebushasban, 5021 Rabsaris, 7249 and Nergalsharezer, 5371 Rabmag, 7248 and all x3605 the king 4428 of Babylon's 894 princes; 7227

 39:14 Even they sent, 7971 z8799 and took 3947 z8799 x853 Jeremiah 3414 out of the court 2691 x4480 of the prison, 4307 and committed 5414 z8799 him unto x413 Gedaliah 1436 the son 1121 of Ahikam 296 the son 1121 of Shaphan, 8227 that he should carry 3318 z8687 him home: 1004 so he dwelt 3427 z8799 among 8432 the people. 5971

 39:15 ¶ Now the word 1697 of the LORD 3068 came x1961 unto x413 Jeremiah, 3414 while he was x1961 shut up 6113 z8803 in the court 2691 of the prison, 4307 saying, 559 z8800

 39:16 Go 1980 z8800 and speak 559 z8804 to Ebedmelech 5663 the Ethiopian, 3569 saying, 559 z8800 Thus x3541 saith 559 z8804 the LORD 3068 of hosts, 6635 the God 430 of Israel; 3478 Behold, x2009 I will bring 935 z8688 x853 my words 1697 upon x413 this x2063 city 5892 for evil, 7451 and not x3808 for good; 2896 and they shall be x1961 [accomplished] in that x1931 day 3117 before 6440 thee.

 39:17 But I will deliver 5337 z8689 thee in that x1931 day, 3117 saith 5002 z8803 the LORD: 3068 and thou shalt not x3808 be given 5414 z8735 into the hand 3027 of the men y582 x376 of whom y6440 x834 thou x859 [art] afraid. 3016 z8801 x4480 x6440

 39:18 For x3588 I will surely y4422 z8763 deliver 4422 z8762 thee, and thou shalt not x3808 fall 5307 z8799 by the sword, 2719 but thy life 5315 shall be x1961 for a prey 7998 unto thee: because x3588 thou hast put thy trust 982 z8804 in me, saith 5002 z8803 the LORD. 3068
