Jeremiah 35

1 By the obedience of the Rechabites, 12 Jeremiah condemneth the disobedience of the Jews. 18 God blesseth the Rechabites for their obedience.

 35:1 ¶ The word 1697 which x834 came x1961 unto x413 Jeremiah 3414 from x4480 x854 the LORD 3068 in the days 3117 of Jehoiakim 3079 the son 1121 of Josiah 2977 king 4428 of Judah, 3063 saying, 559 z8800

 35:2 Go 1980 z8800 unto x413 the house 1004 of the Rechabites, 7397 and speak y1696 z8765 unto x1696 them, and bring 935 z8689 them into the house 1004 of the LORD, 3068 into x413 one 259 of the chambers, 3957 and give them wine 3196 to drink. 8248 z8689

 35:3 Then I took 3947 z8799 x853 Jaazaniah 2970 the son 1121 of Jeremiah, 3414 the son 1121 of Habaziniah, 2262 and his brethren, 251 and all x3605 his sons, 1121 and the whole x3605 house 1004 of the Rechabites; 7397

 35:4 And I brought 935 z8686 them into the house 1004 of the LORD, 3068 into x413 the chamber 3957 of the sons 1121 of Hanan, 2605 the son 1121 of Igdaliah, 3012 a man 376 of God, 430 which x834 [was] by 681 the chamber 3957 of the princes, 8269 which x834 [was] above 4605 x4480 the chamber 3957 of Maaseiah 4641 the son 1121 of Shallum, 7967 the keeper 8104 z8802 of the door: 5592

 35:5 And I set 5414 z8799 before 6440 the sons 1121 of the house 1004 of the Rechabites 7397 pots 1375 full 4392 of wine, 3196 and cups, 3563 and I said 559 z8799 unto x413 them, Drink 8354 z8798 ye wine. 3196

 35:6 But they said, 559 z8799 We will drink 8354 z8799 no x3808 wine: 3196 for x3588 Jonadab 3122 the son 1121 of Rechab 7394 our father 1 commanded 6680 z8765 x5921 us, saying, 559 z8800 Ye shall drink 8354 z8799 no x3808 wine, 3196 [neither ye], x859 nor your sons 1121 for y5704 ever: 5769 x5704

 35:7 Neither x3808 shall ye build 1129 z8799 house, 1004 nor x3808 sow 2232 z8799 seed, 2233 nor x3808 plant 5193 z8799 vineyard, 3754 nor x3808 have x1961 [any]: but x3588 all x3605 your days 3117 ye shall dwell 3427 z8799 in tents; 168 that x4616 ye may live 2421 z8799 many 7227 days 3117 in 6440 x5921 the land 127 where x834 x8033 ye x859 [be] strangers. 1481 z8802

 35:8 Thus have we obeyed 8085 z8799 the voice 6963 of Jonadab 3082 the son 1121 of Rechab 7394 our father 1 in all x3605 that x834 he hath charged 6680 z8765 us, to drink 8354 z8800 no x1115 wine 3196 all x3605 our days, 3117 we, x587 our wives, 802 our sons, 1121 nor our daughters; 1323

 35:9 Nor x1115 to build 1129 z8800 houses 1004 for us to dwell x3427 in: y3427 z8800 neither x3808 have x1961 we vineyard, 3754 nor field, 7704 nor seed: 2233

 35:10 But we have dwelt x3427 in y3427 z8799 tents, 168 and have obeyed, 8085 z8799 and done 6213 z8799 according to all x3605 that x834 Jonadab 3122 our father 1 commanded 6680 z8765 us.

 35:11 But it came to pass, x1961 when Nebuchadrezzar 5019 king 4428 of Babylon 894 came up 5927 z8800 into x413 the land, 776 that we said, 559 z8799 Come, 935 z8798 and let us go 935 z8799 to Jerusalem 3389 for fear 6440 x4480 of the army 2428 of the Chaldeans, 3778 and for fear 6440 x4480 of the army 2428 of the Syrians: 758 so we dwell 3427 z8799 at Jerusalem. 3389

 35:12 ¶ Then came x1961 the word 1697 of the LORD 3068 unto x413 Jeremiah, 3414 saying, 559 z8800

 35:13 Thus x3541 saith 559 z8804 the LORD 3068 of hosts, 6635 the God 430 of Israel; 3478 Go 1980 z8800 and tell 559 z8804 the men 376 of Judah 3063 and the inhabitants 3427 z8802 of Jerusalem, 3389 Will ye not x3808 receive 3947 z8799 instruction 4148 to hearken 8085 z8800 to x413 my words? 1697 saith 5002 z8803 the LORD. 3068

 35:14 x853 The words 1697 of Jonadab 3082 the son 1121 of Rechab, 7394 that x834 he commanded 6680 z8765 x853 his sons 1121 not x1115 to drink 8354 z8800 wine, 3196 are performed; 6965 z8717 for unto x5704 this x2088 day 3117 they drink 8354 z8804 none, x3808 but x3588 obey 8085 z8804 x853 their father's 1 commandment: 4687 notwithstanding I x595 have spoken 1696 z8765 unto x413 you, rising early 7925 z8687 and speaking; 1696 z8763 but ye hearkened 8085 z8804 not x3808 unto x413 me.

 35:15 I have sent 7971 z8799 also unto x413 you x853 all x3605 my servants 5650 the prophets, 5030 rising up early 7925 z8687 and sending 7971 z8800 [them], saying, 559 z8800 Return 7725 z8798 ye now x4994 every man 376 from his evil 7451 way, 1870 x4480 and amend 3190 z8685 your doings, 4611 and go y3212 z8799 x1980 not x408 after 310 other 312 gods 430 to serve 5647 z8800 them, and ye shall dwell x3427 in y3427 z8798 x413 the land 127 which x834 I have given 5414 z8804 to you and to your fathers: 1 but ye have not x3808 inclined 5186 z8689 x853 your ear, 241 nor x3808 hearkened 8085 z8804 unto x413 me.

 35:16 Because x3588 the sons 1121 of Jonadab 3082 the son 1121 of Rechab 7394 have performed 6965 z8689 x853 the commandment 4687 of their father, 1 which x834 he commanded 6680 z8765 them; but this x2088 people 5971 hath not x3808 hearkened 8085 z8804 unto x413 me:

 35:17 Therefore x3651 thus x3541 saith 559 z8804 the LORD 3068 God 430 of hosts, 6635 the God 430 of Israel; 3478 Behold, x2009 I will bring 935 z8688 upon x413 Judah 3063 and upon x413 all x3605 the inhabitants 3427 z8802 of Jerusalem 3389 x853 all x3605 the evil 7451 that x834 I have pronounced 1696 z8765 against x5921 them: because x3282 I have spoken 1696 z8765 unto x413 them, but they have not x3808 heard; 8085 z8804 and I have called 7121 z8799 unto them, but they have not x3808 answered. 6030 z8804

 35:18 ¶ And Jeremiah 3414 said 559 z8804 unto the house 1004 of the Rechabites, 7397 Thus x3541 saith 559 z8804 the LORD 3068 of hosts, 6635 the God 430 of Israel; 3478 Because x3283 x834 ye have obeyed 8085 z8804 x5921 the commandment 4687 of Jonadab 3082 your father, 1 and kept 8104 z8799 x853 all x3605 his precepts, 4687 and done 6213 z8799 according unto all x3605 that x834 he hath commanded 6680 z8765 you:

 35:19 Therefore x3651 thus x3541 saith 559 z8804 the LORD 3068 of hosts, 6635 the God 430 of Israel; 3478 Jonadab 3122 the son 1121 of Rechab 7394 shall not x3808 want 3772 z8735 a man 376 to stand 5975 z8802 before 6440 me for ever. 3117 x3605
