Jeremiah 22

1 He exhorteth to repentance, with promises and threats. 10 The judgment of Shallum, 13 of Jehoiakim, 20 and of Coniah.

 22:1 ¶ Thus x3541 saith 559 z8804 the LORD; 3068 Go down 3381 z8798 to the house 1004 of the king 4428 of Judah, 3063 and speak 1696 z8765 there x8033 x853 this x2088 word, 1697

 22:2 And say, 559 z8804 Hear 8085 z8798 the word 1697 of the LORD, 3068 O king 4428 of Judah, 3063 that sittest 3427 z8802 upon x5921 the throne 3678 of David, 1732 thou, x859 and thy servants, 5650 and thy people 5971 that enter 935 z8802 in by these x428 gates: 8179

 22:3 Thus x3541 saith 559 z8804 the LORD; 3068 Execute 6213 z8798 ye judgment 4941 and righteousness, 6666 and deliver 5337 z8685 the spoiled 1497 z8803 out of the hand 3027 x4480 of the oppressor: 6216 and do no x408 wrong, 3238 z8686 do no x408 violence 2554 z8799 to the stranger, 1616 the fatherless, 3490 nor the widow, 490 neither x408 shed 8210 z8799 innocent 5355 blood 1818 in this x2088 place. 4725

 22:4 For x3588 if x518 ye do 6213 z8799 x853 this x2088 thing 1697 indeed, 6213 z8800 then shall there enter in 935 z8804 by the gates 8179 of this x2088 house 1004 kings 4428 sitting 3427 z8802 upon x5921 the throne 3678 of David, 1732 riding 7392 z8802 in chariots 7393 and on horses, 5483 he, x1931 and his servants, 5650 and his people. 5971

 22:5 But if x518 ye will not x3808 hear 8085 z8799 x853 these x428 words, 1697 I swear 7650 z8738 by myself, saith 5002 z8803 the LORD, 3068 that x3588 this x2088 house 1004 shall become x1961 a desolation. 2723

 22:6 For x3588 thus x3541 saith 559 z8804 the LORD 3068 unto x5921 the king's 4428 house 1004 of Judah; 3063 Thou x859 [art] Gilead 1568 unto me, [and] the head 7218 of Lebanon: 3844 [yet] surely x518 x3808 I will make 7896 z8799 thee a wilderness, 4057 [and] cities 5892 [which] are not x3808 inhabited. 3427 z8738 z8675 z8737

 22:7 And I will prepare 6942 z8765 destroyers 7843 z8688 against x5921 thee, every one 376 with his weapons: 3627 and they shall cut down 3772 z8804 thy choice 4005 cedars, 730 and cast 5307 z8689 [them] into x5921 the fire. 784

 22:8 And many 7227 nations 1471 shall pass 5674 z8804 by x5921 this x2063 city, 5892 and they shall say 559 z8804 every man 376 to x413 his neighbour, 7453 Wherefore x5921 x4100 hath the LORD 3068 done 6213 z8804 thus x3602 unto this x2063 great 1419 city? 5892

 22:9 Then they shall answer, 559 z8804 Because x5921 x834 they have forsaken 5800 z8804 x853 the covenant 1285 of the LORD 3068 their God, 430 and worshipped 7812 z8691 other 312 gods, 430 and served 5647 z8799 them.

 22:10 ¶ Weep 1058 z8799 ye not x408 for the dead, 4191 z8801 neither x408 bemoan 5110 z8799 him: [but] weep y1058 z8798 sore 1058 z8800 for him that goeth away: 1980 z8802 for x3588 he shall return 7725 z8799 no x3808 more, x5750 nor see 7200 z8804 x853 his native 4138 country. 776

 22:11 For x3588 thus x3541 saith 559 z8804 the LORD 3068 touching 413 Shallum 7967 the son 1121 of Josiah 2977 king 4428 of Judah, 3063 which reigned 4427 z8802 instead x8478 of Josiah 2977 his father, 1 which x834 went forth 3318 z8804 out of x4480 this x2088 place; 4725 He shall not x3808 return 7725 z8799 thither x8033 any more: x5750

 22:12 But x3588 he shall die 4191 z8799 in the place 4725 whither x834 x8033 they have led him captive, 1540 z8689 x853 and shall see 7200 z8799 this x2063 land 776 no x3808 more. x5750

 22:13 ¶ Woe 1945 unto him that buildeth 1129 z8802 his house 1004 by y3808 unrighteousness, 6664 x3808 and his chambers 5944 by wrong; 4941 x3808 [that] useth his neighbour's 7453 service 5647 z8799 without wages, 2600 and giveth 5414 z8799 him not x3808 for his work; 6467

 22:14 That saith, 559 z8802 I will build 1129 z8799 me a wide 4060 house 1004 and large 7304 z8794 chambers, 5944 and cutteth him out 7167 z8804 windows; 2474 and [it is] cieled 5603 z8803 with cedar, 730 and painted 4886 z8800 with vermilion. 8350

 22:15 Shalt thou reign, 4427 z8799 because x3588 thou x859 closest 8474 z8808 [thyself] in cedar? 730 did not x3808 thy father 1 eat 398 z8804 and drink, 8354 z8804 and do 6213 z8804 judgment 4941 and justice, 6666 [and] then x227 [it was] well 2896 with him?

 22:16 He judged 1777 z8804 the cause 1779 of the poor 6041 and needy; 34 then x227 [it was] well 2896 [with him: was] not x3808 this x1931 to know 1847 me? saith 5002 z8803 the LORD. 3068

 22:17 But x3588 thine eyes 5869 and thine heart 3820 [are] not x369 but for x3588 x518 x5921 thy covetousness, 1215 and for x5921 to shed 8210 z8800 innocent 5355 blood, 1818 and for x5921 oppression, 6233 and for x5921 violence, 4835 to do 6213 z8800 [it].

 22:18 Therefore x3651 thus x3541 saith 559 z8804 the LORD 3068 concerning x413 Jehoiakim 3079 the son 1121 of Josiah 2977 king 4428 of Judah; 3063 They shall not x3808 lament 5594 z8799 for him, [saying], Ah 1945 my brother! 251 or, Ah 1945 sister! 269 they shall not x3808 lament 5594 z8799 for him, [saying], Ah 1945 lord! 113 or, Ah 1945 his glory! 1935

 22:19 He shall be buried 6912 z8735 with the burial 6900 of an ass, 2543 drawn 5498 z8800 and cast forth 7993 z8687 beyond 1973 x4480 the gates 8179 of Jerusalem. 3389

 22:20 ¶ Go up 5927 z8798 to Lebanon, 3844 and cry; 6817 z8798 and lift up 5414 z8798 thy voice 6963 in Bashan, 1316 and cry 6817 z8798 from the passages: 5676 x4480 for x3588 all x3605 thy lovers 157 z8764 are destroyed. 7665 z8738

 22:21 I spake 1696 z8765 unto x413 thee in thy prosperity; 7962 [but] thou saidst, 559 z8804 I will not x3808 hear. 8085 z8799 This x2088 [hath been] thy manner 1870 from thy youth, 5271 x4480 that x3588 thou obeyedst 8085 z8804 not x3808 my voice. 6963

 22:22 The wind 7307 shall eat up 7462 z8799 all x3605 thy pastors, 7462 z8802 and thy lovers 157 z8764 shall go y3212 z8799 x1980 into captivity: 7628 surely x3588 then x227 shalt thou be ashamed 954 z8799 and confounded 3637 z8738 for all x4480 x3605 thy wickedness. 7451

 22:23 O inhabitant 3427 z8802 of Lebanon, 3844 that makest thy nest 7077 z8794 in the cedars, 730 how x4100 gracious 2603 z8738 shalt thou be when pangs 2256 come 935 z8800 upon thee, the pain 2427 as of a woman in travail! 3205 z8802

 22:24 [As] I x589 live, 2416 saith 5002 z8803 the LORD, 3068 though x3588 x518 Coniah 3659 the son 1121 of Jehoiakim 3079 king 4428 of Judah 3063 were x1961 the signet 2368 upon x5921 my right 3225 hand, 3027 yet x3588 would I pluck 5423 z8799 thee thence; x4480 x8033

 22:25 And I will give 5414 z8804 thee into the hand 3027 of them that seek 1245 z8764 thy life, 5315 and into the hand 3027 [of them] whose x834 face 6440 x4480 thou x859 fearest, 3016 z8801 even into the hand 3027 of Nebuchadrezzar 5019 king 4428 of Babylon, 894 and into the hand 3027 of the Chaldeans. 3778

 22:26 And I will cast thee out, 2904 z8689 x853 and thy mother 517 that x834 bare 3205 z8804 thee, into x5921 another 312 country, 776 where x834 x8033 ye were not x3808 born; 3205 z8795 and there x8033 shall ye die. 4191 z8799

 22:28 [Is] this x2088 man 376 Coniah 3659 a despised 959 z8737 broken 5310 z8803 idol? 6089 [is he] a vessel 3627 wherein [is] no x369 pleasure? 2656 wherefore x4069 are they cast out, y7993 z8717 x2904 he x1931 and his seed, 2233 and are cast y2904 z8717 x7993 into x5921 a land 776 which x834 they know 3045 z8804 not? x3808

 22:29 O earth, 776 earth, 776 earth, 776 hear 8085 z8798 the word 1697 of the LORD. 3068

 22:30 Thus x3541 saith 559 z8804 the LORD, 3068 Write 3789 z8798 ye x853 this x2088 man 376 childless, 6185 a man 1397 [that] shall not x3808 prosper 6743 z8799 in his days: 3117 for x3588 no x3808 man 376 of his seed 2233 x4480 shall prosper, 6743 z8799 sitting 3427 z8802 upon x5921 the throne 3678 of David, 1732 and ruling 4910 z8802 any more x5750 in Judah. 3063
