Isaiah 44

1 God comforteth the Church with his promises. 7 The vanity of idols, 9 and folly of idol makers. 21 He exhorteth to praise God for his redemption and omnipotency.

 44:1 ¶ Yet now x6258 hear, 8085 z8798 O Jacob 3290 my servant; 5650 and Israel, 3478 whom I have chosen: 977 z8804

 44:2 Thus x3541 saith 559 z8804 the LORD 3068 that made 6213 z8802 thee, and formed 3335 z8802 thee from the womb, 990 x4480 [which] will help 5826 z8799 thee; Fear 3372 z8799 not, x408 O Jacob, 3290 my servant; 5650 and thou, Jesurun, 3484 whom I have chosen. 977 z8804

 44:3 For x3588 I will pour 3332 z8799 water 4325 upon x5921 him that is thirsty, 6771 and floods 5140 z8802 upon x5921 the dry ground: 3004 I will pour 3332 z8799 my spirit 7307 upon x5921 thy seed, 2233 and my blessing 1293 upon x5921 thine offspring: 6631

 44:4 And they shall spring up 6779 z8804 [as] among 996 the grass, 2682 as willows 6155 by x5921 the water 4325 courses. 2988

 44:5 One x2088 shall say, 559 z8799 I x589 [am] the LORD'S; 3068 and another x2088 shall call 7121 z8799 [himself] by the name 8034 of Jacob; 3290 and another x2088 shall subscribe 3789 z8799 [with] his hand 3027 unto the LORD, 3068 and surname 3655 z8762 [himself] by the name 8034 of Israel. 3478

 44:6 Thus x3541 saith 559 z8804 the LORD 3068 the King 4428 of Israel, 3478 and his redeemer 1350 z8802 the LORD 3068 of hosts; 6635 I x589 [am] the first, 7223 and I x589 [am] the last; 314 and beside 1107 x4480 me [there is] no x369 God. 430

 44:7 And who, x4310 as I, shall call, 7121 z8799 and shall declare 5046 z8686 it, and set it in order 6186 z8799 for me, since I appointed 7760 z8800 x4480 the ancient 5769 people? 5971 and the things that are coming, 857 z8802 and shall come, 935 z8799 let them shew 5046 z8686 unto them.

 44:8 Fear 6342 z8799 ye not, x408 neither x408 be afraid: 7297 z8799 z8676 z8804 have not x3808 I told 8085 z8689 thee from that time, 227 x4480 and have declared 5046 z8689 [it]? ye x859 [are] even my witnesses. 5707 Is there 3426 a God 433 beside 1107 x4480 me? yea, [there is] no x369 God; 6697 I know 3045 z8804 not x1077 [any].

 44:9 ¶ They that make 3335 z8802 a graven image 6459 [are] all x3605 of them vanity; 8414 and their delectable things 2530 z8803 shall not x1077 profit; 3276 z8686 and they x1992 [are] their own witnesses; 5707 they see 7200 z8799 not, x1077 nor x1077 know; 3045 z8799 that x4616 they may be ashamed. 954 z8799

 44:10 Who x4310 hath formed 3335 z8804 a god, 410 or molten 5258 z8804 a graven image 6459 [that] is profitable 3276 z8687 for nothing? 1115

 44:11 Behold, x2005 all x3605 his fellows 2270 shall be ashamed: 954 z8799 and the workmen, 2796 they x1992 [are] of men: 120 x4480 let them all x3605 be gathered together, 6908 z8691 let them stand up; 5975 z8799 [yet] they shall fear, 6342 z8799 [and] they shall be ashamed 954 z8799 together. 3162

 44:12 The smith 1270 2796 with the tongs 4621 both worketh 6466 z8804 in the coals, 6352 and fashioneth 3335 z8799 it with hammers, 4717 and worketh 6466 z8799 it with the strength 3581 of his arms: 2220 yea, x1571 he is hungry, y7457 x7456 and his strength 3581 faileth: 369 he drinketh 8354 z8804 no x3808 water, 4325 and is faint. 3286 z8799

 44:13 The carpenter 2796 6086 stretcheth out 5186 z8804 [his] rule; 6957 he marketh it out 8388 z8762 with a line; 8279 he fitteth 6213 z8799 it with planes, 4741 and he marketh it out 8388 z8762 with the compass, 4230 and maketh 6213 z8799 it after the figure 8403 of a man, 376 according to the beauty 8597 of a man; 120 that it may remain 3427 z8800 in the house. 1004

 44:14 He heweth him down 3772 z8800 cedars, 730 and taketh 3947 z8799 the cypress 8645 and the oak, 437 which he strengtheneth 553 z8762 for himself among the trees 6086 of the forest: 3293 he planteth 5193 z8804 an ash, 766 and the rain 1653 doth nourish 1431 z8762 [it].

 44:15 Then shall it be x1961 for a man 120 to burn: 1197 z8763 for he will take 3947 z8799 thereof, x4480 and warm 2552 z8799 himself; yea, x637 he kindleth 5400 z8686 [it], and baketh 644 z8804 bread; 3899 yea, x637 he maketh 6466 z8799 a god, 410 and worshippeth 7812 z8691 [it]; he maketh 6213 z8804 it a graven image, 6459 and falleth down 5456 z8799 thereto.

 44:21 ¶ Remember 2142 z8798 these, x428 O Jacob 3290 and Israel; 3478 for x3588 thou x859 [art] my servant: 5650 I have formed 3335 z8804 thee; thou x859 [art] my servant: 5650 O Israel, 3478 thou shalt not x3808 be forgotten 5382 z8735 of me.

 44:22 I have blotted out, 4229 z8804 as a thick cloud, 5645 thy transgressions, 6588 and, as a cloud, 6051 thy sins: 2403 return 7725 z8798 unto x413 me; for x3588 I have redeemed 1350 z8804 thee.

 44:23 Sing, 7442 z8798 O ye heavens; 8064 for x3588 the LORD 3068 hath done 6213 z8804 [it]: shout, 7321 z8685 ye lower parts 8482 of the earth: 776 break forth 6476 z8798 into singing, 7440 ye mountains, 2022 O forest, 3293 and every x3605 tree 6086 therein: for x3588 the LORD 3068 hath redeemed 1350 z8804 Jacob, 3290 and glorified y6286 z8691 himself x6286 in Israel. 3478

 44:24 Thus x3541 saith 559 z8804 the LORD, 3068 thy redeemer, 1350 z8802 and he that formed 3335 z8802 thee from the womb, 990 x4480 I x595 [am] the LORD 3068 that maketh 6213 z8802 all x3605 [things]; that stretcheth forth 5186 z8802 the heavens 8064 alone; x905 that spreadeth abroad 7554 z8802 the earth 776 by x854 myself;

 44:25 That frustrateth 6565 z8688 the tokens 226 of the liars, 907 and maketh diviners y7080 z8802 mad; 1984 z8779 x7080 that turneth 7725 z8688 wise 2450 [men] backward, 268 and maketh their knowledge y1847 foolish; 5528 z8762 x1847

 44:26 That confirmeth 6965 z8688 the word 1697 of his servant, 5650 and performeth 7999 z8686 the counsel 6098 of his messengers; 4397 that saith 559 z8802 to Jerusalem, 3389 Thou shalt be inhabited; 3427 z8714 and to the cities 5892 of Judah, 3063 Ye shall be built, 1129 z8735 and I will raise up 6965 z8787 the decayed places 2723 thereof:

 44:27 That saith 559 z8802 to the deep, 6683 Be dry, 2717 z8798 and I will dry up 3001 z8686 thy rivers: 5104

 44:28 That saith 559 z8802 of Cyrus, 3566 [He is] my shepherd, 7462 z8802 and shall perform 7999 z8686 all x3605 my pleasure: 2656 even saying 559 z8800 to Jerusalem, 3389 Thou shalt be built; 1129 z8735 and to the temple, 1964 Thy foundation shall be laid. 3245 z8735
