Isaiah 1

1 Isaiah complaineth of Judah for her rebellion. 5 He lamenteth her judgments. 10 He upbraideth their whole service. 16 He exhorteth to repentance, with promises and threatenings. 21 Bewailing their wickedness, he denounceth God's judgments. 25 He promiseth grace, 28 and threateneth destruction to the wicked.

 1:1 ¶ The vision 2377 of Isaiah 3470 the son 1121 of Amoz, 531 which x834 he saw 2372 z8804 concerning x5921 Judah 3063 and Jerusalem 3389 in the days 3117 of Uzziah, 5818 Jotham, 3147 Ahaz, 271 [and] Hezekiah, 3169 kings 4428 of Judah. 3063

 1:2 Hear, 8085 z8798 O heavens, 8064 and give ear, 238 z8685 O earth: 776 for x3588 the LORD 3068 hath spoken, 1696 z8765 I have nourished 1431 z8765 and brought up 7311 z8790 children, 1121 and they x1992 have rebelled 6586 z8804 against me.

 1:3 The ox 7794 knoweth 3045 z8804 his owner, 7069 z8802 and the ass 2543 his master's 1167 crib: 18 [but] Israel 3478 doth not x3808 know, 3045 z8804 my people 5971 doth not x3808 consider. 995 z8712

 1:4 Ah 1945 sinful 2398 z8802 nation, 1471 a people 5971 laden 3515 with iniquity, 5771 a seed 2233 of evildoers, 7489 z8688 children 1121 that are corrupters: 7843 z8688 they have forsaken 5800 853 z8804 the LORD, 3068 they have provoked 5006 853 z0 the Holy One 6918 of Israel 3478 unto anger, y5006 z8765 they are gone away 2114 z8738 backward. 268

 1:5 ¶ Why x5921 x4100 should ye be stricken 5221 z8714 any more? x5750 ye will revolt 5627 more and more: 3254 z8686 the whole x3605 head 7218 is sick, 2483 and the whole x3605 heart 3824 faint. 1742

 1:6 From the sole 3709 x4480 of the foot 7272 even unto x5704 the head 7218 [there is] no x369 soundness 4974 in it; [but] wounds, 6482 and bruises, 2250 and putrifying 2961 sores: 4347 they have not x3808 been closed, 2115 z8804 neither x3808 bound up, 2280 z8795 neither x3808 mollified 7401 z8795 with ointment. 8081

 1:7 Your country 776 [is] desolate, 8077 your cities 5892 [are] burned 8313 z8803 with fire: 784 your land, 127 strangers 2114 z8801 devour 398 z8802 it in your presence, x5048 and [it is] desolate, 8077 as overthrown 4114 by strangers. 2114 z8801

 1:8 And the daughter 1323 of Zion 6726 is left 3498 z8738 as a cottage 5521 in a vineyard, 3754 as a lodge 4412 in a garden of cucumbers, 4750 as a besieged 5341 z8803 city. 5892

 1:9 Except 3884 the LORD 3068 of hosts 6635 had left 3498 z8689 unto us a very small 4592 remnant, 8300 we should have been 1961 z8804 as Sodom, 5467 [and] we should have been like 1819 z8804 unto Gomorrah. 6017

 1:10 ¶ Hear 8085 z8798 the word 1697 of the LORD, 3068 ye rulers 7101 of Sodom; 5467 give ear 238 z8685 unto the law 8451 of our God, 430 ye people 5971 of Gomorrah. 6017

 1:11 To what 4100 purpose [is] the multitude 7230 of your sacrifices 2077 unto me? saith 559 z8799 the LORD: 3068 I am full 7646 z8804 of the burnt offerings 5930 of rams, 352 and the fat 2459 of fed beasts; 4806 and I delight 2654 z8804 not x3808 in the blood 1818 of bullocks, 6499 or of lambs, 3532 or of he goats. 6260

 1:12 When x3588 ye come 935 z8799 to appear 7200 z8736 before 6440 me, who x4310 hath required 1245 z8765 this x2063 at your hand, 3027 x4480 to tread 7429 z8800 my courts? 2691

 1:13 Bring 935 z8687 no x3808 more 3254 z8686 vain 7723 oblations; 4503 incense 7004 is an abomination 8441 unto me; the new moons 2320 and sabbaths, 7676 the calling 7121 z8800 of assemblies, 4744 I cannot x3808 x3201 away with; y3201 z8799 [it is] iniquity, 205 even the solemn meeting. 6116

 1:14 Your new moons 2320 and your appointed feasts 4150 my soul 5315 hateth: 8130 z8804 they are x1961 a trouble 2960 unto me; x5921 I am weary 3811 z8738 to bear 5375 z8800 [them].

 1:15 And when ye spread forth 6566 z8763 your hands, 3709 I will hide 5956 z8686 mine eyes 5869 from x4480 you: yea, x1571 when x3588 ye make many 7235 z8686 prayers, 8605 I will not x369 hear: 8085 z8802 your hands 3027 are full 4390 z8804 of blood. 1818

 1:16 ¶ Wash 7364 z8798 you, make you clean; 2135 z8690 put away 5493 z8685 the evil 7455 of your doings 4611 from before 5048 x4480 mine eyes; 5869 cease 2308 z8798 to do evil; 7489 z8687

 1:17 Learn 3925 z8798 to do well; 3190 z8687 seek 1875 z8798 judgment, 4941 relieve 833 z8761 the oppressed, 2541 judge 8199 z8798 the fatherless, 3490 plead 7378 z8798 for the widow. 490

 1:18 Come x1980 now, y3212 z8798 x4994 and let us reason together, 3198 z8735 saith 559 z8799 the LORD: 3068 though x518 your sins 2399 be x1961 as scarlet, 8144 they shall be as white 3835 z8686 as snow; 7950 though x518 they be red 119 z8686 like crimson, 8438 they shall be x1961 as wool. 6785

 1:19 If x518 ye be willing 14 z8799 and obedient, 8085 z8804 ye shall eat 398 z8799 the good 2898 of the land: 776

 1:20 But if x518 ye refuse 3985 z8762 and rebel, 4784 z8804 ye shall be devoured 398 z8792 with the sword: 2719 for x3588 the mouth 6310 of the LORD 3068 hath spoken 1696 z8765 [it].

 1:21 ¶ How x349 is the faithful 539 z8737 city 7151 become x1961 an harlot! 2181 z8802 it was full 4392 of judgment; 4941 righteousness 6664 lodged 3885 z8799 in it; but now x6258 murderers. 7523 z8764

 1:22 Thy silver 3701 is become x1961 dross, 5509 thy wine 5435 mixed 4107 z8803 with water: 4325

 1:23 Thy princes 8269 [are] rebellious, 5637 z8802 and companions 2270 of thieves: 1590 every one x3605 loveth 157 z8802 gifts, 7810 and followeth y7291 z8802 after x7291 rewards: 8021 they judge 8199 z8799 not x3808 the fatherless, 3490 neither x3808 doth the cause 7379 of the widow 490 come 935 z8799 unto x413 them.

 1:24 Therefore x3651 saith 5002 z8803 the Lord, 113 the LORD 3068 of hosts, 6635 the mighty One 46 of Israel, 3478 Ah, 1945 I will ease 5162 z8735 me of mine adversaries, 6862 x4480 and avenge 5358 z8735 me of mine enemies: 341 z8802 x4480

 1:25 ¶ And I will turn 7725 z8686 my hand 3027 upon x5921 thee, and purely y1253 x1252 purge away 6884 z8799 thy dross, 5509 and take away 5493 z8686 all x3605 thy tin: 913

 1:26 And I will restore 7725 z8686 thy judges 8199 z8802 as at the first, 7223 and thy counsellors 3289 z8802 as at the beginning: 8462 afterward 310 x3651 thou shalt be called, 7121 z8735 The city 5892 of righteousness, 6664 the faithful 539 z8737 city. 7151

 1:27 Zion 6726 shall be redeemed 6299 z8735 with judgment, 4941 and her converts 7725 z8802 with righteousness. 6666

 1:28 ¶ And the destruction 7667 of the transgressors 6586 z8802 and of the sinners 2400 [shall be] together, 3162 and they that forsake 5800 z8802 the LORD 3068 shall be consumed. 3615 z8799

 1:29 For x3588 they shall be ashamed 954 z8799 of the oaks 352 x4480 which x834 ye have desired, 2530 z8804 and ye shall be confounded 2659 z8799 for the gardens 1593 x4480 that x834 ye have chosen. 977 z8804

 1:30 For x3588 ye shall be x1961 as an oak 424 whose leaf 5929 fadeth, 5034 z8802 and as a garden 1593 that x834 hath no x369 water. 4325

 1:31 And the strong 2634 shall be x1961 as tow, 5296 and the maker 6467 of it as a spark, 5213 and they shall both 8147 burn 1197 z8804 together, 3162 and none x369 shall quench 3518 z8764 [them].
