1 The sons of Aaron. 5 The Levites are given to the priests for the service of the Tabernacle, 11 instead of the firstborn. 14 The Levites are numbered by their families. 21 The families, number, and charge of the Gershonites, 27 of the Kohathites, 33 of the Merarites. 38 The place and charge of Moses and Aaron. 40 The firstborn are freed by the Levites. 44 The overplus are redeemed.

 3:1 ¶ These x428 also are the generations 8435 of Aaron 175 and Moses, 4872 in the day 3117 that the LORD 3068 spake 1696 z8763 with x854 Moses 4872 in Mount 2022 Sinai. 5514

 3:2 And these x428 [are] the names 8034 of the sonnes 1121 of Aaron: 175 Nadab 5070 the first borne, 1060 and Abihu, 30 Eleazar 499 and Ithamar. 385

 3:3 These x428 [are] the names 8034 of the sonnes 1121 of Aaron 175 the Priests, 3548 which were anointed, 4886 z8803 whom x834 he consecrated 4390 3027 z8765 to minister in the Priests office. 3547 z8763

 3:8 And they shall keepe 8104 z8804 x853 all x3605 the instruments 3627 of the Tabernacle 168 of the Congregation, 4150 and the charge 4931 of the children 1121 of Israel, 3478 to doe 5647 z8800 x853 the seruice 5656 of the Tabernacle. 4908

 3:9 And thou shalt giue 5414 z8804 x853 the Leuites 3881 vnto Aaron 175 and to his sonnes: 1121 they x1992 are wholly giuen 5414 z8803 vnto him out of x4480 x854 the children 1121 of Israel. 3478

 3:10 And thou shalt appoint 6485 z8799 Aaron 175 and his sonnes, 1121 and they shall waite on 8104 z8804 x853 their priests office: 3550 and the stranger 2114 z8801 that commeth nigh, 7131 shall bee put to death. 4191 z8714

 3:11 And the LORD 3068 spake 1696 z8762 vnto x413 Moses, 4872 saying, 559 z8800

 3:12 And I, x589 behold, x2009 I haue taken 3947 z8804 x853 the Leuites 3881 from among 8432 x4480 the children 1121 of Israel, 3478 in stead of x8478 all x3605 the first borne 1060 that openeth 6363 the matrice 7358 among the children 1121 x4480 of Israel: 3478 therefore the Leuites 3881 shall be x1961 mine,

 3:13 Because x3588 all x3605 the first borne 1060 are mine: [for] on the day 3117 that I smote 5221 z8687 all x3605 the first borne 1060 in the land 776 of Egypt, 4714 I halowed 6942 z8689 vnto mee all x3605 the first borne 1060 in Israel, 3478 both man, 120 x4480 and x5704 beast, 929 mine they shall be: x1961 I x589 [am] the LORD. 3068

 3:14 ¶ And the LORD 3068 spake 1696 z8762 vnto x413 Moses, 4872 in the wildernesse 4057 of Sinai, 5514 saying, 559 z8800

 3:15 Number 6485 z8798 x853 the children 1121 of Leui, 3878 after the house 1004 of their fathers, 1 by their families: 4940 euery x3605 male 2145 from a moneth 2320 old 1121 x4480 and vpward 4605 shalt thou number 6485 z8799 them.

 3:16 And Moses 4872 numbred 6485 z8799 them according to x5921 the word 6310 of the LORD, 3068 as x834 he was commanded. 6680 z8795

 3:17 And these x428 [were] x1961 the sonnes 1121 of Leui, 3878 by their names: 8034 Gershon, 1648 and Kohath, 6955 and Merari. 4847

 3:18 And these x428 are the names 8034 of the sonnes 1121 of Gershon, 1648 by their families: 4940 Libni, 3845 and Shimei. 8096

 3:19 And the sonnes 1121 of Kohath 6955 by their families: 4940 Amram, 6019 and Izehar, 3324 Hebron 2275 and Uzziel. 5816

 3:20 And the sonnes 1121 of Merari 4847 by their families: 4940 Mahli, 4249 and Mushi: 4187 these x428 are y1992 the families 4940 of the Leuites, 3881 according to the house 1004 of their fathers. 1

 3:21 Of Gershon 1648 [was] the familie 4940 of the Libnites, 3846 and the familie 4940 of the Shimites: 8097 these x428 are the families 4940 of the Gershonites. 1649

 3:22 Those that were numbred 6485 z8803 of them, according to the number 4557 of all x3605 the males, 2145 from a moneth 2320 old 1121 x4480 and vpward, 4605 euen those that were numbred 6485 z8803 of them, [were] seuen 7651 thousand 505 and fiue 2568 hundred. 3967

 3:23 The families 4940 of the Gershonites 1649 shal pitch 2583 z8799 behind 310 the Tabernacle 4908 Westward. 3220

 3:24 And the chiefe 5387 of the house 1004 of the father 1 of the Gershonites, 1649 [shall be] Eliasaph 460 the sonne 1121 of Lael. 3815

 3:25 And the charge 4931 of the sonnes 1121 of Gershon, y1648 x1647 in the Tabernacle 168 of the Congregation, 4150 [shall be] the Tabernacle, 4908 and the tent, 168 the couering 4372 thereof, and the hanging 4539 for the doore 6607 of the Tabernacle 168 of the Congregation: 4150

 3:26 And the hangings 7050 of the Court, 2691 and the curtaine 4539 for the doore 6607 of the court, 2691 which x834 is by x5921 the Tabernacle, 4908 and by x5921 the Altar 4196 round about, 5439 and the cords 4340 of it, for all x3605 the seruice 5656 therof.

 3:27 ¶ And of Kohath 6955 [was] the familie 4940 of the Amramites, 6020 and the familie 4940 of the Izeharites, 3325 and the familie 4940 of the Hebronites, 2276 and the familie 4940 of the Uzzielites: 5817 these x428 are the families 4940 of the Kohathites. 6956

 3:28 In the number 4557 of all x3605 the males, 2145 from a moneth 2320 olde 1121 x4480 and vpward, 4605 [were] eight 8083 thousand, 505 and sixe 8337 hundred, 3967 keeping 8104 z8802 the charge 4931 of the Sanctuary. 6944

 3:29 The families 4940 of the sonnes 1121 of Kohath, 6955 shall pitch 2583 z8799 on x5921 the side 3409 of the Tabernacle 4908 Southward. 8486

 3:30 And the chiefe 5387 of the house 1004 of the father 1 of the families 4940 of the Kohathites 6956 [shalbe] Elizaphan 469 the sonne 1121 of Uzziel. 5816

 3:31 And their charge 4931 [shall be] the Arke, 727 and the Table, 7979 and the Candlesticke, 4501 and the altars, 4196 and the vessels 3627 of the Sanctuarie, 6944 wherewith x834 they minister, 8334 z8762 and the hanging, 4539 and all x3605 the seruice 5656 thereof.

 3:32 And Eleazar 499 the sonne 1121 of Aaron 175 the Priest, 3548 shall be chiefe 5387 ouer the chiefe 5387 of the Leuites, 3881 [and haue] the ouersight 6486 of them that keepe 8104 z8802 the charge 4931 of the Sanctuary. 6944

 3:33 ¶ Of Merari 4847 [was] the family 4940 of the Mahlites, 4250 and the family 4940 of the Mushites: 4188 these x428 [are] the families 4940 of Merari. 4847

 3:34 And those that were numbred 6485 z8803 of them, according to the number 4557 of all x3605 the males 2145 from a moneth 2320 old 1121 x4480 & vpward, 4605 [were] sixe 8337 thousand 505 and two hundred. 3967

 3:35 And the chiefe 5387 of the house 1004 of the father 1 of the families 4940 of Merari, 4847 [was] Zuriel 6700 the sonne 1121 of Abihail: 32 [these] shall pitch 2583 z8799 on x5921 the side 3409 of the Tabernacle 4908 Northwards. 6828

 3:36 And vnder the custody 6486 and charge 4931 of the sonnes 1121 of Merari, 4847 [shall bee] the boards 7175 of the Tabernacle, 4908 and the barres 1280 thereof, and the pillars 5982 thereof, and the sockets 134 thereof, & all x3605 the vessels 3627 thereof, and all x3605 that serueth 5656 thereto:

 3:37 And the pillars 5982 of the Court 2691 round about, 5439 and their sockets, 134 and their pinnes, 3489 and their cords. 4340

 3:38 ¶ But those that encampe 2583 z8802 before 6440 the Tabernacle 4908 toward the East, 6924 [euen] before 6440 the Tabernacle 168 of the Congregation 4150 Eastward, 4217 [shall be] Moses 4872 and Aaron, 175 and his sonnes, 1121 keeping 8104 z8802 the charge 4931 of the Sanctuary, 4720 for the charge 4931 of the children 1121 of Israel: 3478 and the stranger 2114 z8801 that commeth nigh, 7131 shall be put to death. 4191 z8714

 3:39 All x3605 that were numbred 6485 z8803 of the Leuites, 3881 which x834 Moses 4872 and Aaron 175 numbred 6485 z8804 at x5921 the commaundement 6310 of the LORD, 3068 throughout their families, 4940 all x3605 the males 2145 from a moneth 2320 old 1121 x4480 and vpward, 4605 [were] twenty 6242 and two 8147 thousand. 505

 3:40 ¶ And the LORD 3068 said 559 z8799 vnto x413 Moses, 4872 Number 6485 z8798 all x3605 the first borne 1060 of the males 2145 of the children 1121 of Israel, 3478 from a moneth 2320 old 1121 x4480 and vpward, 4605 and take 5375 z8798 x853 the number 4557 of their names. 8034

 3:41 And thou shalt take 3947 z8804 x853 the Leuites 3881 for me, (I x589 [am] the LORD) 3068 in stead of x8478 all x3605 the first borne 1060 among the children 1121 of Israel, 3478 and the cattell 929 of the Leuites, 3881 in stead of x8478 all x3605 the firstlings 1060 among the cattell 929 of the children 1121 of Israel. 3478

 3:42 And Moses 4872 numbred 6485 z8799 as x834 the LORD 3068 commanded 6680 z8765 him, x853 all x3605 the first borne 1060 among the children 1121 of Israel. 3478

 3:43 And all x3605 the first borne 1060 males, 2145 by the number 4557 of names, 8034 from a moneth 2320 old 1121 x4480 & vpward, 4605 of those that were numbred 6485 z8803 of them, [were] x1961 twenty 6242 and two 8147 thousand, 505 two hundred, 3967 and threescore and thirteene. 7657 7969

 3:44 ¶ And the LORD 3068 spake 1696 z8762 vnto x413 Moses, 4872 saying, 559 z8800

 3:45 Take 3947 z8798 x853 the Leuites 3881 in stead of x8478 all x3605 the first borne 1060 among the children 1121 of Israel, 3478 and the cattell 929 of the Leuites 3881 in stead of x8478 their cattell, 929 and the Leuites 3881 shalbe x1961 mine: I x589 [am] the LORD. 3068

 3:46 And for those that are to be redeemed y6302 x6299 of the two hundred 3967 and threescore and thirteene, 7657 7969 of the first borne 1060 x4480 of the children 1121 of Israel, 3478 which are more 5736 z8802 then 5921 the Leuites; 3881

 3:47 Thou shalt euen take 3947 z8804 fiue y2568 shekels y8255 a piece, 2568 x8255 by the polle, 1538 after the shekel 8255 of the Sanctuary 6944 shalt thou take 3947 z8799 them; the shekel 8255 [is] twenty 6242 gerahs. 1626

 3:48 And thou shalt giue 5414 z8804 the money, 3701 wherewith the odde number 5736 z8802 of them is to be redeemed, y6302 x6299 vnto Aaron 175 and to his sonnes. 1121

 3:49 And Moses 4872 tooke 3947 z8799 the redemption 6306 x853 money, 3701 of x4480 x854 them that were ouer 5736 z8802 and aboue x5921 them that were redeemed y6302 x6306 by the Leuites. 3881

 3:50 Of x4480 x854 the first borne 1060 of the children 1121 of Israel 3478 tooke 3947 z8804 he x853 the money; 3701 a thousand, 505 three 7969 hundred, 3967 and threescore 8346 and fiue 2568 [shekels], after the shekel 8255 of the Sanctuary. 6944

 3:51 And Moses 4872 gaue 5414 z8799 x853 the money 3701 of them that were redeemed, 6306 y6302 z8675 vnto Aaron 175 and to his sonnes, 1121 according to x5921 the word 6310 of the LORD, 3068 as x834 the LORD 3068 commanded 6680 z8765 x853 Moses. 4872
