2 Kings 6

1 Elisha, giving leave to the young prophets to enlarge their dwellings, causeth iron to swim. 8 He discloseth the king of Samaria's counsel. 13 The army, which was sent to Dothan to apprehend Elisha, is smitten with blindness. 19 Being brought into Samaria, they are dismissed in peace. 24 The famine in Samaria causeth women to eat their own children. 30 The king sendeth to slay Elisha.

 6:1 ¶ And the sonnes 1121 of the Prophets 5030 saide 559 z8799 vnto y6440 x413 Elisha, 477 Beholde x2009 now, x4994 the place 4725 where x834 x8033 wee x587 dwell 3427 z8802 with x6440 thee, is too strait 6862 for x4480 vs:

 6:2 Let vs goe, y3212 z8799 x1980 wee pray thee, x4994 vnto x5704 Iordane, 3383 and take 3947 z8799 thence x4480 x8033 euery man 376 a 259 beame, 6982 and let vs make 6213 z8799 vs a place 4725 there x8033 where x8033 we may dwell. 3427 z8800 And hee answered, 559 z8799 Goe y3212 z8798 x1980 ye.

 6:3 And one 259 said, 559 z8799 Be content, 2974 z8685 I pray thee, x4994 and goe y3212 z8798 x1980 with x854 thy seruants. 5650 And he answered, 559 z8799 I x589 will goe. y3212 z8799 x1980

 6:4 So hee went y3212 z8799 x1980 with x854 them: and when they came 935 z8799 to Iordane, 3383 they cut downe 1504 z8799 wood. 6086

 6:5 But as one 259 was x1961 felling 5307 z8688 a beame, 6982 the axe head 1270 fell 5307 z8804 into x413 the water: 4325 and hee cryed, 6817 z8799 and sayd, 559 z8799 Alas 162 master, 113 for it x1931 was borrowed. 7592 z8803

 6:6 And the man 376 of God 430 said, 559 z8799 Where 575 fell 5307 z8804 it? and hee shewed 7200 z8686 him x853 the place: 4725 and he cut downe 7094 z8799 a sticke, 6086 and cast 7993 z8686 [it] in thither, x8033 and the yron 1270 did swimme. 6687 z8686

 6:7 Therefore said 559 z8799 he, Take it vp 7311 z8685 to thee: And hee put out 7971 z8799 his hand, 3027 and tooke 3947 z8799 it.

 6:8 ¶ Then the king 4428 of Syria 758 warred 3898 z8737 against Israel, 3478 and tooke counsell 3289 z8735 with x413 his seruants, 5650 saying, 559 z8800 In x413 such y6423 and such 492 x6423 a place 4725 [shall be] my campe. 8466

 6:9 And the man 376 of God 430 sent 7971 z8799 vnto x413 the king 4428 of Israel, 3478 saying, 559 z8800 Beware 8104 z8734 that thou passe y5674 z8800 not x4480 x5674 such 2088 a place; 4725 for x3588 thither x8033 the Syrians 758 are come downe. 5185

 6:10 And the king 4428 of Israel 3478 sent 7971 z8799 to x413 the place 4725 which x834 the man 376 of God 430 tolde 559 z8804 him, and warned 2094 z8689 him of, and saued y8104 z8738 himselfe x8104 there, x8033 not x3808 once 259 nor x3808 twise. 8147

 6:11 Therefore the heart 3820 of the king 4428 of Syria 758 was sore troubled 5590 z8735 for x5921 this x2088 thing, 1697 and he called 7121 z8799 x413 his seruants, 5650 and said 559 z8799 vnto x413 them, Will ye not x3808 shewe 5046 z8686 me which x4310 of x4480 x7495 vs [is] for x413 the king 4428 of Israel? 3478

 6:12 And one 259 of his seruants 5650 x4480 sayde, 559 z8799 None, x3808 my lord 113 O king; 4428 but x3588 Elisha 477 the Prophet, 5030 that x834 is in Israel, 3478 telleth 5046 z8686 the king 4428 of Israel, 3478 x853 the wordes 1697 that x834 thou speakest 1696 z8762 in thy bed-chamber. 2315 4904

 6:13 ¶ And he said, 559 z8799 Goe y3212 z8798 x1980 and spie 7200 z8798 where 351 he x1931 [is], that I may send 7971 z8799 and fetch 3947 z8799 him. And it was tolde 5046 z8714 him, saying, 559 z8800 Behold, x2009 he [is] in Dothan. 1886

 6:14 Therefore sent 7971 z8799 he thither x8033 horses, 5483 and charets, 7393 and a great 3515 hoste: 2428 and they came 935 z8799 by night, 3915 and compassed 5362 z0 x5921 the citie 5892 about. y5362 z8686

 6:15 And when the seruant 8334 z8764 of the man 376 of God 430 was risen 6965 z8800 early 7925 z8686 and gone forth, 3318 z8799 behold, x2009 an host 2428 compassed 5437 z8802 x853 the citie, 5892 both with horses 5483 and charets: 7393 and his seruant 5288 said 559 z8799 vnto x413 him, Alas 162 my master, 113 how x349 shall we doe? 6213 z8799

 6:16 And he answered, 559 z8799 Feare 3372 z8799 not: x408 for x3588 they that x834 [be] with x854 vs, [are] moe 7227 then they that x4480 x834 [be] with x854 them.

 6:17 And Elisha 477 prayed, 6419 z8691 and sayde, 559 z8799 LORD, 3068 I pray thee, x4994 open 6491 z8798 x853 his eyes 5869 that he may see. 7200 z8799 And the LORD 3068 opened 6491 z8799 x853 the eyes 5869 of the young man, 5288 and hee saw: 7200 z8799 and behold, x2009 the mountaine 2022 [was] full 4390 z8804 of horses, 5483 and charets 7393 of fire 784 round about 5439 Elisha. 477

 6:18 And when they came downe 3381 z8799 to x413 him, Elisha 477 prayed 6419 z8691 vnto x413 the LORD, 3068 and said, 559 z8799 Smite 5221 z8685 x853 this x2088 people, 1471 I pray thee, x4994 with blindnesse. 5575 And hee smote 5221 z8686 them with blindnesse, 5575 according to the word 1697 of Elisha. 477

 6:19 ¶ And Elisha 477 saide 559 z8799 vnto x413 them, This x2088 [is] not x3808 the way, 1870 neither x3808 [is] this 2090 the citie: 5892 follow 310 y3212 z8798 x1980 me, and I will bring y3212 z8686 x1980 you to x413 the man 376 whom x834 ye seeke. 1245 z8762 But hee led y3212 z8686 x1980 them to Samaria. 8111

 6:20 And it came to passe x1961 when they were come 935 z8800 into Samaria, 8111 that Elisha 477 said, 559 z8799 LORD, 3068 open 6491 z8798 x853 the eyes 5869 of these x428 men, that they may see. 7200 z8799 And the LORD 3068 opened 6491 z8799 x853 their eyes, 5869 and they saw, 7200 z8799 and beholde, x2009 [they were] in the mids 8432 of Samaria. 8111

 6:21 And the king 4428 of Israel 3478 saide 559 z8799 vnto x413 Elisha, 477 when he saw 7200 z8800 them, My father, 1 shall I smite 5221 z8686 [them]? shall I smite 5221 z8686 [them]?

 6:22 And he answered, 559 z8799 Thou shalt not x3808 [smite] 5221 z8686 them: wouldest thou x859 smite 5221 z8688 those whom x834 thou hast taken captiue 7617 z8804 with thy sword, 2719 and with thy bow? 7198 set 7760 z8798 bread 3899 and water 4325 before 6440 them, that they may eate, 398 z8799 and drinke, 8354 z8799 and go y3212 z8799 x1980 to x413 their master. 113

 6:23 And hee prepared 3739 z8799 great 1419 prouision 3740 for them, and when they had eaten 398 z8799 and drunke, 8354 z8799 hee sent them away, 7971 z8762 and they went y3212 z8799 x1980 to x413 their master: 113 so the bands 1416 of Syria 758 came 935 z8800 no x3808 more 3254 z8804 x5750 into the lande 776 of Israel. 3478

 6:24 ¶ And it came to passe x1961 after x310 this, y310 x3651 that Benhadad 1130 king 4428 of Syria 758 gathered 6908 z8799 x853 all x3605 his hoste, 4264 and went vp, 5927 z8799 and besieged 6696 z8799 x5921 Samaria. 8111

 6:25 And there was x1961 a great 1419 famine 7458 in Samaria: 8111 and behold, x2009 they besieged 6696 z8802 x5921 it, vntill x5704 an asses 2543 head 7218 was x1961 [solde] for fourescore 8084 [pieces] of siluer, 3701 and the fourth part 7255 of a kab 6894 of doues doung 1686 z8675 y3123 y2755 for fiue 2568 [pieces] of siluer. 3701

 6:26 And as the king 4428 of Israel 3478 was x1961 passing by 5674 z8802 vpon x5921 the wall, 2346 there cried 6817 z8804 a woman 802 vnto x413 him, saying, 559 z8800 Helpe, 3467 z8685 my lord, 113 O king. 4428

 6:27 And he said, 559 z8799 If the LORD 3068 do not x408 helpe 3467 z8686 thee, whence 370 x4480 shall I helpe 3467 z8686 thee? out of x4480 the barne floore, 1637 or x176 out of x4480 the wine presse? 3342

 6:28 And the king 4428 said 559 z8799 vnto her, What x4100 aileth thee? And shee answered, 559 z8799 This x2063 woman 802 said 559 z8804 vnto x413 me, Giue 5414 z8798 x853 thy sonne, 1121 that we may eate 398 z8799 him to day, 3117 and wee will eate 398 z8799 my sonne 1121 to morrow. 4279

 6:29 So we boyled 1310 z8762 x853 my sonne, 1121 and did eate 398 z8799 him: and I saide 559 z8799 vnto x413 her on the next 312 day, 3117 Giue 5414 z8798 x853 thy sonne, 1121 that we may eate 398 z8799 him: and she hath hid 2244 z8686 x853 her sonne. 1121

 6:30 ¶ And it came to passe x1961 when the king 4428 heard 8085 z8800 x853 the words 1697 of the woman, 802 that he rent 7167 z8799 x853 his clothes, 899 and hee x1931 passed by 5674 z8802 vpon x5921 the wall, 2346 and the people 5971 looked, 7200 z8799 and behold, x2009 hee had sackcloth 8242 within, 1004 x4480 vpon x5921 his flesh. 1320

 6:31 Then he said, 559 z8799 God 430 doe 6213 z8799 so, x3541 and more 3254 z8686 also x3541 to mee, if x518 the head 7218 of Elisha 477 the sonne 1121 of Shaphat, 8202 shall stand 5975 z8799 on x5921 him this day. 3117

 6:32 But Elisha 477 sate 3427 z8802 in his house 1004 (and the elders 2205 sate 3427 z8802 with x854 him) and the king sent 7971 z8799 a man 376 from before 6440 x4480 him: but yer x2962 the messenger 4397 came 935 z8799 to x413 him, hee x1931 said 559 z8804 to x413 the Elders, 2205 See 7200 z8804 yee how x3588 this x2088 sonne 1121 of a murderer 7523 z8764 hath sent 7971 z8804 to take away 5493 z8687 x853 mine head? 7218 Looke 7200 z8798 when the messenger 4397 commeth, 935 z8800 shut 5462 z8798 the doore, 1817 and hold him fast 3905 z8804 x853 at the doore: 1817 [Is] not x3808 the sound 6963 of his masters 113 feete 7272 behind 310 him?

 6:33 And while hee yet x5750 talked 1696 z8764 with x5973 them, beholde, x2009 the messenger 4397 came downe 3381 z8802 vnto x413 him: and he said, 559 z8799 Behold, x2009 this x2063 euill 7451 [is] of x4480 x854 the LORD, 3068 what x4100 should I waite 3176 z8686 for the LORD 3068 any longer? x5750
