1 Hezekiah mourning sendeth to Isaiah to pray for them. 6 Isaiah comforteth them. 8 Sennacherib, going to encounter Tirhakah, sendeth a blasphemous letter to Hezekiah. 14 Hezekiah's prayer. 20 Isaiah's prophecy of the pride and destruction of Sennacherib, and the good of Zion. 35 An angel slayeth the Assyrians. 36 Sennacherib is slain at Nineveh by his own sons.

 19:1 ¶ And it came to passe x1961 when King 4428 Hezekiah 2396 heard 8085 z8800 [it], that hee rent 7167 z8799 x853 his clothes, 899 and couered y3680 z8691 himselfe x3680 with sackecloth, 8242 and went 935 z8799 into the house 1004 of the LORD. 3068

 19:2 And hee sent 7971 z8799 x853 Eliakim, 471 which x834 [was] ouer x5921 the houshold, 1004 and Shebna 7644 the Scribe, 5608 z8802 and the Elders 2205 of the Priests, 3548 couered 3680 z8693 with sackcloth, 8242 to x413 Esai 3470 the Prophet 5030 the sonne 1121 of Amoz. 531

 19:3 And they sayd 559 z8799 vnto x413 him, Thus x3541 sayth 559 z8804 Hezekiah, 2396 This x2088 day 3117 [is] a day 3117 of trouble, 6869 and of rebuke, 8433 and blasphemie: 5007 for x3588 the children 1121 are come 935 z8804 to x5704 the birth, 4866 and [there is] not x369 strength 3581 to bring foorth. 3205 z8800

 19:4 It may be, 194 the LORD 3068 thy God 430 will heare 8085 z8799 x853 all x3605 the words 1697 of Rabshakeh 7262 whome x834 the king 4428 of Assyria 804 his master 113 hath sent 7971 z8804 to reproch 2778 z8763 the liuing 2416 God, 430 and will reprooue 3198 z8689 the wordes 1697 which x834 the LORD 3068 thy God 430 hath heard: 8085 z8804 wherefore lift vp 5375 z8804 [thy] prayer 8605 for x1157 the remnant 7611 that are left. 4672 z8737

 19:5 So the seruants 5650 of king 4428 Hezekiah 2396 came 935 z8799 to x413 Isaiah. 3470

 19:6 ¶ And Isaiah 3470 said 559 z8799 vnto them, Thus x3541 shal ye say 559 z8799 to x413 your master, 113 Thus x3541 saith 559 z8804 the LORD, 3068 Be not afraid 3372 z8799 x408 of 6440 x4480 the wordes 1697 which x834 thou hast heard, 8085 z8804 with which x834 the seruants 5288 of the king 4428 of Assyria 804 haue blasphemed 1442 z8765 me.

 19:7 Behold, x2009 I will send 5414 z8802 a blast 7307 vpon him, and he shall heare 8085 z8804 a rumour, 8052 and shall returne 7725 z8804 to his owne land, 776 and I will cause him to fall 5307 z8689 by the sword 2719 in his owne land. 776

 19:8 ¶ So Rabshakeh 7262 returned, 7725 z8799 and found 4672 z8799 x853 the king 4428 of Assyria 804 warring 3898 z8737 against x5921 Libnah: 3841 for x3588 hee had heard 8085 z8804 that x3588 he was departed 5265 z8804 from Lachish. 3923 x4480

 19:9 And when he heard 8085 z8799 say 559 z8800 of x413 Tirhakah 8640 king 4428 of Ethiopia, 3568 Behold, x2009 hee is come out 3318 z8804 to fight 3898 z8736 against x854 thee: hee sent 7971 z8799 messengers 4397 againe 7725 z8799 vnto x413 Hezekiah, 2396 saying, 559 z8800

 19:10 Thus x3541 shall ye speake 559 z8799 to x413 Hezekiah 2396 king 4428 of Iudah, 3063 saying, 559 z8800 Let not x408 thy God 430 in whome x834 thou x859 trustest, 982 z8802 deceiue 5377 z8686 thee, saying, 559 z8800 Ierusalem 3389 shall not x3808 be deliuered 5414 z8735 into the hande 3027 of the king 4428 of Assyria. 804

 19:11 Behold, x2009 thou x859 hast heard 8085 z8804 x853 what x834 the kings 4428 of Assyria 804 haue done 6213 z8804 to all x3605 lands, 776 by destroying them vtterly: 2763 z8687 and shalt thou x859 be deliuered? 5337 z8735

 19:12 Haue the gods 430 of the nations 1471 deliuered 5337 z8689 them which x834 my fathers 1 haue destroyed? 7843 z8765 [As] x853 Gozan, 1470 and Haran, 2771 and Rezeph, 7530 and the children 1121 of Eden 5729 which x834 [were] in Thelasar? 8515

 19:13 Where x346 is the king 4428 of Hamath, 2574 and the king 4428 of Arpad, 774 and the king 4428 of the citie 5892 of Sepharuaim, 5617 of Hena, 2012 and Iuah? 5755

 19:14 ¶ And Hezekiah 2396 receiued 3947 z8799 x853 the letter 5612 of the hand 3027 x4480 of the messengers, 4397 and read 7121 z8799 it: and Hezekiah 2396 went vp 5927 z8799 into the house 1004 of the LORD, 3068 and spread 6566 z8799 it before 6440 the LORD. 3068

 19:15 And Hezekiah 2396 prayed 6419 z8691 before 6440 the LORD, 3068 and said, 559 z8799 O LORD 3068 God 430 of Israel, 3478 which dwellest 3427 z8802 [between] the Cherubims, 3742 thou x859 art the God, 430 [euen] thou alone, x905 of all x3605 the kingdomes 4467 of the earth, 776 thou x859 hast made 6213 z8804 x853 heauen 8064 and earth. 776

 19:16 LORD, 3068 bow downe 5186 z8685 thine eare, 241 and heare: 8085 z8798 open, 6491 z8798 LORD, 3068 thine eyes; 5869 and see: 7200 z8798 and heare 8085 z8798 x853 the words 1697 of Sennacherib 5576 which x834 hath sent 7971 z8804 him to reproch 2778 z8763 the liuing 2416 God. 430

 19:17 Of a trueth, y551 x546 LORD, 3068 the kings 4428 of Assyria 804 haue destroyed 2717 z8689 the nations 1471 and x853 their lands, 776

 19:18 And haue cast 5414 z8804 x853 their gods 430 into the fire: 784 for x3588 they x1992 [were] no x3808 gods, 430 but x3588 x518 the work 4639 of mens 120 hands, 3027 wood 6086 and stone: 68 therfore they haue destroyed 6 z8762 them.

 19:19 Now x6258 therefore, O LORD 3068 our God, 430 I beseech thee, x4994 saue 3467 z8685 thou vs out of his hand, 3027 x4480 that all x3605 the kingdoms 4467 of the earth 776 may know, 3045 z8799 that x3588 thou x859 art the LORD 3068 God, 430 [euen] thou onely. x905

 19:20 ¶ Then Isaiah 3470 the sonne 1121 of Amoz 531 sent 7971 z8799 to x413 Hezekiah, 2396 saying, 559 z8800 Thus x3541 saith 559 z8804 the LORD 3068 God 430 of Israel, 3478 That which x834 thou hast prayed 6419 z8694 to x413 mee against x413 Sennacherib 5576 king 4428 of Assyria, 804 I haue heard. 8085 z8804

 19:21 This x2088 [is] the word 1697 that x834 the LORD 3068 hath spoken 1696 z8765 concerning x5921 him, The Uirgin, 1330 the daughter 1323 of Zion 6726 hath despised 959 z8804 thee, [and] laughed thee to scorne, 3932 z8804 the daughter 1323 of Ierusalem 3389 hath shaken 5128 z8689 her head 7218 at x310 thee. y310

 19:22 x853 Whome x4310 hast thou reproched 2778 z8765 and blasphemed? 1442 z8765 And against x5921 whome x4310 hast thou exalted 7311 z8689 [thy] voyce, 6963 and lift vp 5375 z8799 thine eyes 5869 on high? 4791 [euen] against x5921 the Holy 6918 One of Israel. 3478

 19:23 By 3027 thy messengers 4397 thou hast reproched 2778 z8765 the Lord, 136 and hast said, 559 z8799 With the multitude 7230 of my charets, 7393 z8675 I x589 am come vp 5927 z8804 to the height 4791 of the mountaines, 2022 to the sides 3411 of Lebanon, 3844 and will cut downe 3772 z8799 the tall 6967 cedar trees 730 thereof, [and] the choice 4004 firre trees 1265 thereof: and I will enter 935 z8799 into the lodgings 4411 of his borders, 7093 [and into] the forrest 3293 of his Carmel. 3760

 19:24 I x589 haue digged 6979 z8804 & drunke 8354 z8804 strange 2114 z8801 waters, 4325 and with the sole 3709 of my feete 6471 haue I dried y2717 z8686 vp x2717 all x3605 the riuers 2975 of besieged places. 4693

 19:25 Hast thou not x3808 heard 8085 z8804 long agoe, 7350 x4480 how I haue done 6213 z8804 it, [and] of ancient y6924 times 3117 x4480 x6924 that I haue formed 3335 z8804 it? Now x6258 haue I brought y935 z8689 it to passe, x935 that thou shouldest be x1961 to lay waste 7582 z8687 fenced 1219 z8803 cities 5892 into ruinous 5327 z8737 heapes. 1530

 19:26 Therefore their Inhabitants 3427 z8802 were of small 7116 power, 3027 they were dismayed 2865 z8804 and confounded, 954 z8799 they were x1961 [as] the grasse 6212 of the field, 7704 and [as] the greene 3419 herbe, 1877 [as] the grasse 2682 on the house tops, 1406 and as [corne] blasted 7711 before 6440 it be growen vp. 7054

 19:27 But I know 3045 z8804 thy abode, 3427 z8800 and thy going out, 3318 z8800 and thy coming in, 935 z8800 and thy rage 7264 z8692 against x413 me.

 19:28 Because x3282 thy rage 7264 z8692 against x413 me, and thy tumult 7600 is come vp 5927 z8804 into mine eares, 241 therefore I will put 7760 z8804 my hooke 2397 in thy nose, 639 and my bridle 4964 in thy lips, 8193 and I will turne thee backe 7725 z8689 by the way 1870 by which x834 thou camest. 935 z8804

 19:29 And this x2088 [shalbe] a signe 226 vnto thee, Yee shall eate 398 z8800 this yeere 8141 such things as grow y5599 of themselues, x5599 and in the second 8145 yeere 8141 that which springeth y7823 of the same, x7823 and in the third 7992 yeere 8141 sow 2232 z8798 ye and reape, 7114 z8798 and plant 5193 z8798 Uineyards, 3754 and eate 398 z8798 the fruits 6529 thereof.

 19:30 And the remnant 7604 z8737 that is escaped 6413 of the house 1004 of Iudah, 3063 shall yet againe 3254 z8804 take root 8328 downeward, 4295 and beare 6213 z8804 fruit 6529 vpward. 4605

 19:31 For x3588 out of Ierusalem 3389 x4480 shall goe forth 3318 z8799 a remnant, 7611 and they that escape 6413 out of mount 2022 x4480 Zion: 6726 the zeale 7068 of the LORD 3068 of hostes z8675 y6635 shall doe 6213 z8799 this. x2063

 19:32 Therefore x3651 thus x3541 saith 559 z8804 the LORD 3068 concerning x413 the king 4428 of Assyria, 804 He shall not x3808 come 935 z8799 into x413 this x2063 city, 5892 nor x3808 shoot 3384 z8686 an arrow 2671 there, x8033 nor x3808 come before 6923 z8762 it with shield, 4043 nor x3808 cast 8210 z8799 a banke 5550 against x5921 it:

 19:33 By the way 1870 that x834 hee came, 935 z8799 by the same shal he returne, 7725 z8799 and shal not x3808 come 935 z8799 into x413 this x2063 city, 5892 saith 5002 z8803 the LORD. 3068

 19:34 For I will defend 1598 z8804 x413 this x2063 citie, 5892 to saue 3467 z8687 it, for mine owne sake, x4616 and for my seruant 5650 Dauids 1732 sake. x4616

 19:35 ¶ And it came to passe x1961 that x1931 night, 3915 that the Angel 4397 of the LORD 3068 went out, 3318 z8799 and smote 5221 z8686 in the campe 4264 of the Assyrians, 804 an hundred 3967 foure score 8084 and fiue 2568 thousand: 505 and when they arose earely 7925 z8686 in the morning, 1242 behold, x2009 they [were] all x3605 dead 4191 z8801 corpses. 6297

 19:36 So Sennacherib 5576 king 4428 of Assyria 804 departed, 5265 z8799 and went y3212 z8799 x1980 and returned, 7725 z8799 and dwelt 3427 z8799 at Nineueh. 5210

 19:37 And it came to passe x1961 as hee x1931 was worshipping 7812 z8693 in the house 1004 of Nisroch 5268 his god, 430 that Adramelech, 152 and Sharezer 8272 his sonnes, 1121 smote 5221 z8689 him with the sword: 2719 and they x1992 escaped 4422 z8738 into the land 776 of Armenia, 780 and Esarhaddon 634 his sonne 1121 reigned 4427 z8799 in his stead. x8478
