2 Kings 16

1 Ahaz his wicked reign. 5 Ahaz assailed by Rezin and Pekah, hireth Tiglath-pileser against them. 10 Ahaz, sending a pattern of an altar from Damascus to Urijah, diverteth the brasen altar to his own devotion. 17 He spoileth the Temple. 19 Hezekiah succeedeth him.

 16:1 ¶ In the seuenteenth 7651 6240 y8141 yeere 8141 of Pekah 6492 the sonne 1121 of Remaliah, 7425 Ahaz 271 the sonne 1121 of Iotham 3147 King 4428 of Iudah 3063 began to reigne. 4427 z8804

 16:2 Twentie 6242 yeeres 8141 olde 1121 [was] Ahaz 271 when hee began to reigne, 4427 z8800 and reigned 4427 z8804 sixteene 8337 6240 yeeres 8141 in Ierusalem, 3389 and did 6213 z8804 not x3808 that [which was] right 3477 in the sight 5869 of the LORD 3068 his God, 430 like Dauid 1732 his father: 1

 16:3 But hee walked y3212 z8799 x1980 in the way 1870 of the kings 4428 of Israel, 3478 yea x1571 & made x853 his sonne 1121 to passe through 5674 z8689 the fire, 784 according to the abominations 8441 of the heathen, 1471 whom x834 x853 the LORD 3068 cast out 3423 z8689 from before 6440 x4480 the children 1121 of Israel. 3478

 16:4 And hee sacrificed 2076 z8762 and burnt incense 6999 z8762 in the high places, 1116 and on x5921 the hils, 1389 and vnder x8478 euery x3605 greene 7488 tree. 6086

 16:5 ¶ Then x227 Rezin 7526 king 4428 of Syria, 758 and Pekah 6492 sonne 1121 of Remaliah 7425 king 4428 of Israel, 3478 came vp 5927 z8799 to Ierusalem 3389 to warre: 4421 and they besieged 6696 z8799 x5921 Ahaz, 271 but could 3201 z8804 not x3808 ouercome 3898 z8736 him.

 16:7 So Ahaz 271 sent 7971 z8799 messengers 4397 to x413 Tiglath Pileser 8407 king 4428 of Assyria, 804 saying, 559 z8800 I x589 [am] thy seruant, 5650 and thy sonne: 1121 come vp, 5927 z8798 and saue 3467 z8685 me out of the hand 3709 x4480 of the king 4428 of Syria, 758 and out of the hand 3709 x4480 of the king 4428 of Israel, 3478 which rise vp 6965 z8801 against x5921 me.

 16:8 And Ahaz 271 tooke 3947 z8799 x853 the siluer 3701 and gold 2091 that was found 4672 z8737 in the house 1004 of the LORD, 3068 and in the treasures 214 of the kings 4428 house, 1004 and sent 7971 z8799 [it for] a present 7810 to the king 4428 of Assyria. 804

 16:9 And the king 4428 of Assyria 804 hearkened 8085 z8799 vnto x413 him: for the king 4428 of Assyria 804 went vp 5927 z8799 against x413 Damascus, 1834 and tooke 8610 z8799 it, and caried [the people of] it captiue 1540 z8686 to Kir, 7024 and slew 4191 z8689 Rezin. 7526

 16:10 ¶ And King 4428 Ahaz 271 went y3212 z8799 x1980 to Damascus, 1834 to meete y7125 z8800 x7122 Tiglath Pileser 8407 king 4428 of Assyria, 804 and saw 7200 z8799 x853 an altar 4196 that x834 [was] at Damascus: 1834 and king 4428 Ahaz 271 sent 7971 z8799 to x413 Uriiah 223 the Priest 3548 x853 the fashion 1823 of the altar, 4196 and the paterne 8403 of it, according to all x3605 the workemanship 4639 thereof.

 16:11 And Uriiah 223 the Priest 3548 built 1129 z8799 x853 an altar: 4196 according to all x3605 that x834 king 4428 Ahaz 271 had sent 7971 z8804 from Damascus, 1834 x4480 so x3651 Uriiah 223 the Priest 3548 made 6213 z8804 [it], against x5704 king 4428 Ahaz 271 came 935 z8800 from Damascus. 1834 x4480

 16:12 And when the king 4428 was come 935 z8799 from Damascus, 1834 x4480 the King 4428 saw 7200 z8799 x853 the altar: 4196 and the King 4428 approched 7126 z8799 to x5921 the altar, 4196 and offered 5927 z8686 thereon. x5921

 16:13 And he burnt 6999 z8686 x853 his burnt offering, 5930 and his meate offering, 4503 and powred 5258 z8686 x853 his drinke offering, 5262 and sprinkled 2236 z8799 x853 the blood 1818 of his x834 peace offerings 8002 vpon x5921 the altar. 4196

 16:14 And hee brought 7126 z8686 also the brasen 5178 altar 4196 which x834 was before 6440 the LORD, 3068 from x4480 x854 the forefront 6440 of the house, 1004 from betweene x4480 x996 the altar 4196 and the house 1004 of the LORD, 3068 and put 5414 z8799 it on x5921 the North 6828 side 3409 of the altar. 4196

 16:15 And king 4428 Ahaz 271 commanded 6680 z8762 x853 Uriiah 223 the Priest, 3548 saying, 559 z8800 Upon x5921 the great 1419 altar, 4196 burne 6999 z8685 x853 the morning 1242 burnt offering, 5930 and the euening 6153 meate offering, 4503 and the Kings 4428 burnt sacrifice, 5930 and his meate offering, 4503 with the burnt offering 5930 of all x3605 the people 5971 of the land, 776 and their meate offering, 4503 and their drinke offerings, 5262 and sprinkle 2236 z8799 vpon x5921 it all x3605 the blood 1818 of the burnt offering, 5930 and all x3605 the blood 1818 of the sacrifice: 2077 and the brasen 5178 altar 4196 shall be x1961 for me to enquire 1239 z8763 [by].

 16:16 Thus did 6213 z8799 Uriiah 223 the Priest, 3548 according to all x3605 that x834 king 4428 Ahaz 271 commaunded. 6680 z8765

 16:17 ¶ And king 4428 Ahaz 271 cut off 7112 z8762 x853 the borders 4526 of the bases, 4350 and remooued 5493 z8686 the lauer 3595 from off x4480 x5921 them, and tooke downe 3381 z8689 the sea 3220 from off x4480 x5921 the brasen 5178 oxen 1241 that x834 were vnder x8478 it, and put 5414 z8799 it vpon x5921 a pauement 4837 of stones: 68

 16:18 And the couert 4329 z8675 for the Sabbath 7676 that x834 they had built 1129 z8804 in the house, 1004 and the kings 4428 entry 3996 without, 2435 turned 5437 z8689 hee from the house 1004 of the LORD, 3068 for 6440 x4480 the king 4428 of Assyria. 804

 16:19 ¶ Now the rest 3499 of the actes 1697 of Ahaz, 271 which x834 he did, 6213 z8804 are they x1992 not x3808 written 3789 z8803 in x5921 the booke 5612 of the Chronicles 1697 3117 of the kings 4428 of Iudah? 3063

 16:20 And Ahaz 271 slept 7901 z8799 with x5973 his fathers, 1 and was buried 6912 z8735 with x5973 his fathers 1 in the city 5892 of Dauid, 1732 and Hezekiah 2396 his sonne 1121 reigned 4427 z8799 in his stead. x8478
