2 Kings 22

1 Josiah's good reign. 3 He taketh care for the repair of the Temple. 8 Hilkiah having found the book of the Law, Josiah sendeth to Huldah to enquire of the LORD. 15 Huldah prophesieth the destruction of Jerusalem, but respite thereof in Josiah's time.

 22:1 ¶ Iosiah 2977 was eight 8083 yeeres 8141 old 1121 when hee beganne to reigne, 4427 z8800 and hee reigned 4427 z8804 thirtie 7970 and one 259 yeeres 8141 in Ierusalem: 3389 and his mothers 517 name 8034 [was] Iedidah, 3040 the daughter 1323 of Adaiah 5718 of Boscath. 1218 x4480

 22:2 And he did 6213 z8799 that [which was] right 3477 in the sight 5869 of the LORD, 3068 and walked y3212 z8799 x1980 in all x3605 the wayes 1870 of Dauid 1732 his father, 1 and turned not aside 5493 z8804 x3808 to the right hand, 3225 or to the left. 8040

 22:3 ¶ And it came to passe x1961 in the eighteenth 8083 6240 yeere 8141 of king 4428 Iosiah, 2977 that the king 4428 sent 7971 z8804 x853 Shaphan 8227 the sonne 1121 of Azaliah, 683 the sonne 1121 of Meshullam 4918 the Scribe 5608 z8802 to the house 1004 of the LORD, 3068 saying, 559 z8800

 22:4 Goe vp 5927 z8798 to x413 Hilkiah 2518 the high 1419 priest, 3548 that he may summe 8552 z8686 x853 the siluer 3701 which is brought 935 z8716 into the house 1004 of the LORD, 3068 which x834 the keepers 8104 z8802 of the doore 5592 haue gathered 622 z8804 of x4480 x854 the people. 5971

 22:5 And let them deliuer 5414 z8799 it into x5921 the hand 3027 of the doers 6213 z8802 of the worke, 4399 that haue the ouersight 6485 z8716 of the house 1004 of the LORD: 3068 and let them giue 5414 z8799 it to the doers 6213 z8802 of the worke, 4399 which x834 is in the house 1004 of the LORD, 3068 to repaire 2388 z8763 the breaches 919 of the house, 1004

 22:6 Unto carpenters, 2796 and builders, 1129 z8802 and masons, 1443 z8802 and to buy 7069 z8800 timber 6086 and hewen 4274 stone, 68 to repaire 2388 z8763 x853 the house. 1004

 22:7 Howbeit, x389 there was no x3808 reckoning x2803 made y2803 z8735 with x854 them, of the money 3701 that was deliuered 5414 z8737 into x5921 their hand, 3027 because x3588 they x1992 dealt 6213 z8802 faithfully. 530

 22:8 ¶ And Hilkiah 2518 the high 1419 Priest 3548 said 559 z8799 vnto x5921 Shaphan 8227 the Scribe, 5608 z8802 I haue found 4672 z8804 the booke 5612 of the Law 8451 in the house 1004 of the LORD. 3068 And Hilkiah 2518 gaue 5414 z8799 x853 the booke 5612 to x413 Shaphan, 8227 and he read 7121 z8799 it.

 22:9 And Shaphan 8227 the Scribe 5608 z8802 came 935 z8799 to x413 the king, 4428 and brought y7725 z0 the king y4428 word y1697 againe, 7725 z8686 x853 x4428 x1697 and said, 559 z8799 Thy seruants 5650 haue gathered 5413 z8689 x853 the money 3701 that was found 4672 z8737 in the house, 1004 and haue deliuered 5414 z8799 it into x5921 the hand 3027 of them that doe 6213 z8802 the worke, 4399 that haue the ouersight 6485 z8716 of the house 1004 of the LORD. 3068

 22:10 And Shaphan 8227 the Scribe 5608 z8802 shewed 5046 z8686 the king, 4428 saying, 559 z8800 Hilkiah 2518 the Priest 3548 hath deliuered 5414 z8804 mee a booke: 5612 and Shaphan 8227 read 7121 z8799 it before 6440 the king. 4428

 22:11 And it came to passe x1961 when the king 4428 had heard 8085 z8800 x853 the words 1697 of the booke 5612 of the Law, 8451 that he rent 7167 z8799 x853 his clothes. 899

 22:12 And the king 4428 commanded 6680 z8762 x853 Hilkiah 2518 the Priest, 3548 and Ahikam 296 the sonne 1121 of Shaphan, 8227 and Achbor 5907 the sonne 1121 of Michaiah, 4320 and Shaphan 8227 the Scribe, 5608 z8802 and Asahiah 6222 a seruant 5650 of the Kings, 4428 saying, 559 z8800

 22:13 Goe y3212 z8798 x1980 yee, enquire 1875 z8798 of x853 the LORD 3068 for x1157 me, and for x1157 the people, 5971 and for x1157 all x3605 Iudah, 3063 concerning x5921 the wordes 1697 of this x2088 booke 5612 that is found: 4672 z8737 for x3588 great 1419 [is] the wrath 2534 of the LORD 3068 that x834 is kindled 3341 z8738 against vs, because x5921 x834 our fathers 1 haue not x3808 hearkened 8085 z8804 vnto x5921 the woordes 1697 of this x2088 booke, 5612 to doe 6213 z8800 according vnto all x3605 that which is written 3789 z8803 concerning x5921 vs.

 22:14 So Hilkiah 2518 the Priest, 3548 and Ahikam, 296 and Achbor, 5907 and Shaphan, 8227 and Asahiah, 6222 went y3212 z8799 x1980 vnto x413 Huldah 2468 the Prophetesse, 5031 the wife 802 of Shallum 7967 the sonne 1121 [of] Tikuah, 8616 the sonne 1121 of Harhas, 2745 keeper 8104 z8802 of the wardrobe: 899 now she x1931 dwelt 3427 z8802 in Ierusalem 3389 in the colledge: 4932 And they communed 1696 z8762 with x413 her.

 22:15 ¶ And she said 559 z8799 vnto x413 them, Thus x3541 saith 559 z8804 the LORD 3068 God 430 of Israel, 3478 Tell 559 z8798 the man 376 that x834 sent 7971 z8804 you to x413 me;

 22:16 Thus x3541 saith 559 z8804 the LORD, 3068 Behold, x2009 I will bring 935 z8688 euill 7451 vpon x413 this x2088 place, 4725 and vpon x5921 the inhabitants 3427 z8802 thereof, [euen] x853 all x3605 the words 1697 of the booke 5612 which x834 the king 4428 of Iudah 3063 hath read. 7121 z8804

 22:17 Because x8478 x834 they haue forsaken 5800 z8804 me, and haue burnt incense 6999 z8762 vnto other 312 gods, 430 that x4616 they might prouoke mee to anger 3707 z8687 with all x3605 the woorkes 4639 of their handes: 3027 therefore my wrath 2534 shall bee kindled 3341 z8738 against this x2088 place, 4725 and shall not x3808 be quenched. 3518 z8799

 22:18 But to x413 the king 4428 of Iudah 3063 which sent 7971 z8802 you to enquire 1875 z8800 of x853 the LORD, 3068 Thus x3541 shall yee say 559 z8799 to x413 him, Thus x3541 saith 559 z8804 the LORD 3068 God 430 of Israel, 3478 as touching the woordes 1697 which x834 thou hast heard: 8085 z8804

 22:19 Because x3282 thine heart 3824 was tender, 7401 z8804 and thou hast humbled y3665 z8735 thy selfe x3665 before 6440 x4480 the LORD, 3068 when thou heardest 8085 z8800 what x834 I spake 1696 z8765 against x5921 this x2088 place, 4725 and against x5921 the inhabitants 3427 z8802 thereof, that they should become x1961 a desolation 8047 and a curse, 7045 and hast rent 7167 z8799 x853 thy cloathes, 899 and wept 1058 z8799 before 6440 me; I x595 also x1571 haue heard 8085 z8804 [thee], saith 5002 z8803 the LORD. 3068

 22:20 Behold x2009 therefore, x3651 I will gather 622 z8802 thee vnto x5921 thy fathers, 1 and thou shalt be gathered 622 z8738 into x413 thy graue 6913 in peace, 7965 and thine eyes 5869 shal not x3808 see 7200 z8799 all x3605 the euil 7451 which x834 I x589 will bring 935 z8688 vpon x5921 this x2088 place. 4725 And they brought 7725 z0 x853 the king 4428 word 1697 againe. y7725 z8686
