1 Kings 11

1 Solomon's wives and concubines. 4 In his old age they draw him to idolatry. 9 God threateneth him. 14 Solomon's adversaries were Hadad, who was entertained in Egypt, 23 Rezon, who reigned in Damascus, 26 and Jeroboam, to whom Ahijah prophesied. 41 Solomon's acts, reign, and death: Rehoboam succeedeth him.

 11:1 ¶ But King 4428 Solomon 8010 loued 157 z8804 many 7227 strange 5237 women, 802 (together with x854 ye daughter 1323 of Pharaoh) 6547 women of the Moabites, 4125 Ammonites, 5984 Edomites, 130 Sidonians 6722 [&] Hittites: 2850

 11:2 Of x4480 the nations 1471 concerning which x834 the LORD 3068 said 559 z8804 vnto x413 the children 1121 of Israel, 3478 Yee shall not x3808 goe in 935 z8799 to them, neither x3808 shall they x1992 come in 935 z8799 vnto you, [for] surely 403 they will turne away 5186 z8686 x853 your heart 3824 after 310 their gods: 430 Solomon 8010 claue 1692 z8804 vnto these in loue. 157 z8800

 11:3 And he had x1961 seuen 7651 hundred 3967 wiues, 802 Princesses, 8282 and three 7969 hundred 3967 concubines: 6370 and his wiues 802 turned away 5186 z8686 x853 his heart. 3820

 11:4 For it came to passe x1961 when 6256 Solomon 8010 was old, 2209 that his wiues 802 turned away 5186 z8689 x853 his heart 3824 after 310 other 312 gods: 430 and his heart 3824 was x1961 not x3808 perfect 8003 with x5973 the LORD 3068 his God, 430 as [was] the heart 3824 of Dauid 1732 his father. 1

 11:5 For Solomon 8010 went y3212 z8799 x1980 after 310 Ashtoreth 6253 the goddesse 430 of the Zidonians, 6722 and after 310 Milcom 4445 the abomination 8251 of the Amorites. 5984

 11:6 And Solomon 8010 did 6213 z8799 euill 7451 in the sight 5869 of the LORD, 3068 and went not fully 4390 z8765 x3808 after 310 the LORD, 3068 as [did] Dauid 1732 his father. 1

 11:7 Then x227 did Solomon 8010 build 1129 z8799 an hie place 1116 for Chemosh 3645 the abomination 8251 of Moab, 4124 in the hill 2022 that x834 [is] before 6440 x5921 Ierusalem, 3389 and for Molech 4432 the abomination 8251 of the children 1121 of Ammon. 5983

 11:8 And likewise x3651 did 6213 z8804 hee for all x3605 his strange 5237 wiues, 802 which burnt incense 6999 z8688 and sacrificed 2076 z8764 vnto their gods. 430

 11:9 ¶ And the LORD 3068 was angry 599 z8691 with Solomon, 8010 because x3588 his heart 3824 was turned 5186 z8804 from x4480 x5973 the LORD 3068 God 430 of Israel 3478 which had appeared 7200 z8738 vnto x413 him twise, 6471

 11:10 And had commaunded 6680 z8765 x413 him concerning x5921 this x2088 thing, 1697 that hee should not x1115 goe y3212 z8800 x1980 after 310 other 312 gods: 430 but hee kept 8104 z8804 not x3808 x853 that which x834 the LORD 3068 commanded. 6680 z8765

 11:11 Wherefore the LORD 3068 said 559 z8799 vnto Solomon; 8010 Forasmuch x3282 as x834 this x2063 is x1961 done of x5973 thee, and thou hast not x3808 kept 8104 z8804 my Couenant, 1285 and my Statutes 2708 which x834 I haue commanded 6680 z8765 x5921 thee, I wil surely y7167 z8800 rend 7167 z8799 x853 the kingdome 4467 from x4480 x5921 thee, and will giue 5414 z8804 it to thy seruant. 5650

 11:12 Notwithstanding x389 in thy dayes 3117 I wil not x3808 doe 6213 z8799 it, for Dauid y1732 thy fathers y1 sake: x4616 x1732 x1 [but] I wil rend 7167 z8799 it out of the hand 3027 x4480 of thy sonne. 1121

 11:13 Howbeit, 7535 I wil not x3808 rend away 7167 z8799 x853 all x3605 the kingdome: 4467 [but] wil giue 5414 z8799 one 259 tribe 7626 to thy sonne, 1121 for Dauid y1732 my seruants y5650 sake, x4616 x1732 x5650 and for Ierusalems y3389 sake, x4616 x3389 which x834 I haue chosen. 977 z8804

 11:14 ¶ And the LORD 3068 stirred vp 6965 z8686 an aduersary 7854 vnto Solomon, 8010 x853 Hadad 1908 the Edomite: 130 hee x1931 [was] of the kings y4428 seed 2233 x4480 x4428 in Edom. 123

 11:15 For it came to passe x1961 when Dauid 1732 was x1961 in x853 Edom, 123 and Ioab 3097 the captaine 8269 of the host 6635 was gone vp 5927 z8800 to bury 6912 z8763 x853 the slaine, 2491 after he had smitten 5221 z8686 euery x3605 male 2145 in Edom: 123

 11:17 That Hadad 111 fled, 1272 z8799 he x1931 and certaine y582 x376 Edomites y130 x129 of his fathers y1 seruants 5650 x4480 x1 with x854 him, to goe 935 z8800 into Egypt: 4714 Hadad 1908 being yet a litle 6996 childe. 5288

 11:18 And they arose 6965 z8799 out of Midian, 4080 x4480 and came 935 z8799 to Paran, 6290 and they tooke 3947 z8799 men y582 x376 with x5973 them out of Paran, 6290 x4480 and they came 935 z8799 to Egypt, 4714 vnto x413 Pharaoh 6547 king 4428 of Egypt, 4714 which gaue 5414 z8799 him an house, 1004 and appointed 559 z8804 him vitailes, 3899 and gaue 5414 z8804 him land. 776

 11:23 ¶ And God 430 stirred him vp 6965 z8686 [another] aduersary: 7854 x853 Rezon, 7331 the sonne 1121 of Eliadah, 450 which x834 fled 1272 z8804 from x4480 x854 his lord 113 Hadadezer 1909 king 4428 of Zobah: 6678

 11:25 And he was x1961 an aduersarie 7854 to Israel 3478 all x3605 the dayes 3117 of Solomon, 8010 beside x854 the mischiefe 7451 that x834 Hadad 1908 [did]: and he abhorred 6973 z8799 Israel, 3478 and reigned 4427 z8799 ouer x5921 Syria. 758

 11:26 ¶ And Ieroboam 3379 the sonne 1121 of Nebat, 5028 an Ephrathite 673 of x4480 Zereda, 6868 Solomons 8010 seruant, 5650 (whose mothers 517 name 8034 [was] Zeruah 6871 a widow 490 woman) 802 euen he lift vp 7311 z8686 [his] hand 3027 against the king. 4428

 11:27 And this x2088 [was] the cause 1697 that x834 hee lift vp 7311 z8689 [his] hand 3027 against the king: 4428 Solomon 8010 built 1129 z8804 x853 Millo, 4407 [and] repaired 5462 z8804 x853 the breaches 6556 of the citie 5892 of Dauid 1732 his father. 1

 11:28 And the man 376 Ieroboam 3379 [was] a mightie x1368 man y1368 of valour: 2428 and Solomon 8010 seeing 7200 z8799 x853 the young man 5288 that x3588 he x1931 was industrious, 6213 4399 z8802 hee made him ruler 6485 z8686 x853 ouer all x3605 the charge 5447 of the house 1004 of Ioseph. 3130

 11:29 And it came to passe x1961 at that x1931 time 6256 when Ieroboam 3379 went out 3318 z8804 of Ierusalem, 3389 x4480 that the Prophet 5030 Ahiiah 281 the Shilonite 7888 found 4672 z8799 him in the way: 1870 and hee x1931 had clad y3680 z8693 himselfe x3680 with a new 2319 garment; 8008 and they two 8147 were alone x905 in the field. 7704

 11:31 And he said 559 z8799 to Ieroboam, 3379 Take 3947 z8798 thee tenne 6235 pieces: 7168 for x3588 thus x3541 sayth 559 z8804 the LORD 3068 the God 430 of Israel, 3478 Behold, x2009 I will rent 7167 z8802 x853 the kingdome 4467 out of the hand 3027 x4480 of Solomon, 8010 and will giue 5414 z8804 x853 ten 6235 tribes 7626 to thee:

 11:32 (But hee shall haue x1961 one 259 tribe, 7626 for my seruant y5650 Dauids y1732 sake, x4616 x1732 x5650 and for Ierusalems y3389 sake, x4616 x3389 the citie 5892 which x834 I haue chosen 977 z8804 out of all x4480 x3605 the tribes 7626 of Israel:) 3478

 11:33 Because x3282 that x834 they haue forsaken 5800 z8804 mee, and haue worshipped 7812 z8691 Ashtaroth 6253 the goddesse 430 of the Zidonians, y6722 x6721 Chemosh 3645 the god 430 of the Moabites, 4124 and Milcom 4445 the god 430 of the children 1121 of Anunon, 5983 and haue not x3808 walked 1980 z8804 in my wayes, 1870 to doe 6213 z8800 that which is right 3477 in mine eyes, 5869 and [to keepe] my Statutes, 2708 and my Iudgements, 4941 as [did] Dauid 1732 his father. 1

 11:34 Howbeit, I will not x3808 take 3947 z8799 x853 the whole x3605 kingdome 4467 out of his hand: 3027 x4480 but x3588 I will make 7896 z8799 him Prince 5387 all x3605 the dayes 3117 of his life, 2416 for Dauid y1732 my seruants y5650 sake, x4616 x1732 x5650 whom x834 x853 I chose, 977 z8804 because x834 hee kept 8104 z8804 my Commandements 4687 and my Statutes: 2708

 11:35 But I will take 3947 z8804 the kingdome 4410 out of his sonnes y1121 hand, 3027 x4480 x1121 and will giue 5414 z8804 it vnto thee, [euen] x853 ten 6235 tribes. 7626

 11:36 And vnto his sonne 1121 will I giue 5414 z8799 one 259 tribe, 7626 that x4616 Dauid 1732 my seruant 5650 may haue x1961 a light 5216 alway 3117 x3605 before 6440 me in Ierusalem, 3389 the citie 5892 which x834 I haue chosen 977 z8804 me to put 7760 z8800 my Name 8034 there. x8033

 11:37 And I will take 3947 z8799 thee, and thou shalt reigne 4427 z8804 according to all x3605 that x834 thy soule 5315 desireth, 183 z8762 and shalt be x1961 King 4428 ouer x5921 Israel. 3478

 11:38 And it shall be, x1961 if x518 thou wilt hearken y8085 z8799 vnto x8085 x853 all x3605 that x834 I command 6680 z8762 thee, and wilt walke 1980 z8804 in my wayes, 1870 and doe 6213 z8804 that is right 3477 in my sight, 5869 to keepe 8104 z8800 my Statutes 2708 and my Commandements, 4687 as x834 Dauid 1732 my seruant 5650 did; 6213 z8804 that I will be x1961 with x5973 thee, and build 1129 z8804 thee a sure 539 z8737 house, 1004 as x834 I built 1129 z8804 for Dauid, 1732 and will giue 5414 z8804 x853 Israel 3478 vnto thee.

 11:39 And I will for x4616 this x2063 afflict 6031 z8762 x853 the seed 2233 of Dauid, 1732 but x389 not x3808 for euer. 3117 x3605

 11:40 Solomon 8010 sought 1245 z8762 therefore to kill 4191 z8687 x853 Ieroboam, 3379 and Ieroboam 3379 arose, 6965 z8799 and fledde 1272 z8799 into Egypt, 4714 vnto x413 Shishak 7895 king 4428 of Egypt, 4714 and was x1961 in Egypt 4714 vntill x5704 the death 4194 of Solomon. 8010

 11:41 ¶ And the rest 3499 of the actes 1697 of Solomon, 8010 and all x3605 that x834 he did, 6213 z8804 and his wisedome, 2451 are they x1992 not x3808 written 3789 z8803 in x5921 the booke 5612 of the actes 1697 of Solomon? 8010

 11:42 And the time 3117 that x834 Solomon 8010 reigned 4427 z8804 in Ierusalem, 3389 ouer x5921 all x3605 Israel, 3478 [was] fourtie 705 yeeres. 8141

 11:43 And Solomon 8010 slept 7901 z8799 with x5973 his fathers, 1 and was buried 6912 z8735 in the citie 5892 of Dauid 1732 his father: 1 and Rehoboam 7346 his sonne 1121 reigned 4427 z8799 in his stead. x8478
