1 Samuel 5

1 The Philistines having brought the Ark into Ashdod set it in the house of Dagon. 3 Dagon is smitten down and cut in pieces, and they of Ashdod smitten with emerods. 8 So God dealeth with them of Gath, when it was brought thither: 10 and so with them of Ekron, when it was brought thither.

 5:1 ¶ And the Philistines 6430 took 3947 z8804 x853 the ark 727 of God, 430 and brought 935 z8686 it from Ebenezer 72 x4480 unto Ashdod. 795

 5:2 When the Philistines 6430 took 3947 z8799 x853 the ark 727 of God, 430 they brought 935 z8686 it into the house 1004 of Dagon, 1712 and set 3322 z8686 it by 681 Dagon. 1712

 5:3 ¶ And when they of Ashdod y796 x795 arose early 7925 z8686 on the morrow, 4283 x4480 behold, x2009 Dagon 1712 [was] fallen 5307 z8802 upon his face 6440 to the earth 776 before 6440 the ark 727 of the LORD. 3068 And they took 3947 z8799 x853 Dagon, 1712 and set 7725 z0 him in his place 4725 again. y7725 z8686

 5:4 And when they arose early 7925 z8686 on the morrow 4283 x4480 morning, 1242 behold, x2009 Dagon 1712 [was] fallen 5307 z8802 upon his face 6440 to the ground 776 before 6440 the ark 727 of the LORD; 3068 and the head 7218 of Dagon 1712 and both 8147 the palms 3709 of his hands 3027 [were] cut off 3772 z8803 upon x413 the threshold; 4670 only x7535 [the stump of] Dagon 1712 was left 7604 z8738 to x5921 him.

 5:5 Therefore x5921 x3651 neither x3808 the priests 3548 of Dagon, 1712 nor any x3605 that come 935 z8802 into Dagon's 1712 house, 1004 tread 1869 z8799 on x5921 the threshold 4670 of Dagon 1712 in Ashdod 795 unto x5704 this x2088 day. 3117

 5:6 But the hand 3027 of the LORD 3068 was heavy 3513 z8799 upon x413 them of Ashdod, y796 x795 and he destroyed 8074 z8686 them, and smote 5221 z8686 them with emerods, 6076 y2914 z8675 [even] x853 Ashdod 795 and the coasts 1366 thereof.

 5:7 And when the men y582 x376 of Ashdod 795 saw 7200 z8799 that x3588 [it was] so, x3651 they said, 559 z8804 The ark 727 of the God 430 of Israel 3478 shall not x3808 abide 3427 z8799 with x5973 us: for x3588 his hand 3027 is sore 7185 z8804 upon x5921 us, and upon x5921 Dagon 1712 our god. 430

 5:8 They sent 7971 z8799 therefore and gathered 622 z8799 x853 all x3605 the lords 5633 of the Philistines 6430 unto x413 them, and said, 559 z8799 What x4100 shall we do 6213 z8799 with the ark 727 of the God 430 of Israel? 3478 And they answered, 559 z8799 Let the ark 727 of the God 430 of Israel 3478 be carried about 5437 z8735 unto Gath. 1661 And they carried 5437 z0 x853 the ark 727 of the God 430 of Israel 3478 about y5437 z8686 [thither].

 5:9 And it was x1961 [so], that, after 310 they had carried it about, 5437 z8689 x853 the hand 3027 of the LORD 3068 was x1961 against the city 5892 with a very 3966 great 1419 destruction: 4103 and he smote 5221 z8686 x853 the men y582 x376 of the city, 5892 both small 6996 x4480 and great, 1419 and they had emerods 6076 y2914 z8675 in their secret parts. 8368 z8735

 5:10 ¶ Therefore they sent 7971 z8762 x853 the ark 727 of God 430 to Ekron. 6138 And it came to pass, x1961 as the ark 727 of God 430 came 935 z8800 to Ekron, 6138 that the Ekronites 6139 cried out, 2199 z8799 saying, 559 z8800 They have brought about 5437 z8689 x853 the ark 727 of the God 430 of Israel 3478 to x413 us, to slay 4191 z8687 us and our people. 5971

 5:11 So they sent 7971 z8799 and gathered together 622 z8799 x853 all x3605 the lords 5633 of the Philistines, 6430 and said, 559 z8799 Send away 7971 z8761 x853 the ark 727 of the God 430 of Israel, 3478 and let it go again 7725 z8799 to his own place, 4725 that it slay 4191 z8686 us not, x3808 and our people: 5971 for x3588 there was x1961 a deadly 4194 destruction 4103 throughout all x3605 the city; 5892 the hand 3027 of God 430 was very 3966 heavy 3513 z8804 there. x8033

 5:12 And the men y582 x376 that x834 died 4191 z8804 not x3808 were smitten 5221 z8717 with the emerods: 6076 y2914 z8675 and the cry 7775 of the city 5892 went up 5927 z8799 to heaven. 8064
