1 Samuel dieth. 2 David in Paran sendeth to Nabal. 10 Provoked by Nabal's churlishness, he mindeth to destroy him. 14 Abigail understanding thereof, 18 taketh a present, 23 and by her wisdom 32 pacifieth David. 36 Nabal hearing thereof dieth. 39 David taketh Abigail and Ahinoam to be his wives. 44 Michal is given to Phalti.

 25:1 ¶ And Samuel 8050 died; 4191 z8799 and all x3605 the Israelites 3478 were gathered together, 6908 z8735 and lamented 5594 z8799 him, and buried 6912 z8799 him in his house 1004 at Ramah. 7414 And David 1732 arose, 6965 z8799 and went down 3381 z8799 to x413 the wilderness 4057 of Paran. 6290

 25:2 And [there was] a man 376 in Maon, 4584 whose possessions 4639 [were] in Carmel; 3760 and the man 376 [was] very 3966 great, 1419 and he had three 7969 thousand 505 sheep, 6629 and a thousand 505 goats: 5795 and he was x1961 shearing 1494 z8800 x853 his sheep 6629 in Carmel. 3760

 25:3 Now the name 8034 of the man 376 [was] Nabal; 5037 and the name 8034 of his wife 802 Abigail: 26 and [she was] a woman 802 of good 2896 understanding, 7922 and of a beautiful 3303 countenance: 8389 but the man 376 [was] churlish 7186 and evil 7451 in his doings; 4611 and he x1931 [was] of the house of Caleb. y3614 x3612

 25:4 ¶ And David 1732 heard 8085 z8799 in the wilderness 4057 that x3588 Nabal 5037 did shear 1494 z8802 x853 his sheep. 6629

 25:5 And David 1732 sent out 7971 z8799 ten 6235 young men, 5288 and David 1732 said 559 z8799 unto the young men, 5288 Get you up 5927 z8798 to Carmel, 3760 and go 935 z8804 to x413 Nabal, 5037 and greet 7592 7965 z8804 him in my name: 8034

 25:6 And thus x3541 shall ye say 559 z8804 to him that liveth 2416 [in prosperity], Peace 7965 [be] both to thee, x859 and peace 7965 [be] to thine house, 1004 and peace 7965 [be] unto all x3605 that x834 thou hast.

 25:7 And now x6258 I have heard 8085 z8804 that x3588 thou hast shearers: 1494 z8802 now x6258 thy shepherds 7462 z8802 which x834 were x1961 with x5973 us, we hurt 3637 z8689 them not, x3808 neither x3808 was there ought 3972 missing 6485 z8738 unto them, all x3605 the while 3117 they were x1961 in Carmel. 3760

 25:8 Ask 7592 z8798 x853 thy young men, 5288 and they will shew 5046 z8686 thee. Wherefore let the young men 5288 find 4672 z8799 favour 2580 in thine eyes: 5869 for x3588 we come 935 z8804 in x5921 a good 2896 day: 3117 give, 5414 z8798 I pray thee, x4994 x853 whatsoever x834 cometh 4672 z8799 to thine hand 3027 unto thy servants, 5650 and to thy son 1121 David. 1732

 25:9 And when David's 1732 young men 5288 came, 935 z8799 they spake 1696 z8762 to x413 Nabal 5037 according to all x3605 those x428 words 1697 in the name 8034 of David, 1732 and ceased. 5117 z8799

 25:10 ¶ And Nabal 5037 answered 6030 z8799 x853 David's 1732 servants, 5650 and said, 559 z8799 Who x4310 [is] David? 1732 and who x4310 [is] the son 1121 of Jesse? 3448 there be many 7231 z8804 servants 5650 now a days 3117 that break away 6555 z8693 every man 376 from 6440 x4480 his master. 113

 25:11 Shall I then take 3947 z8804 x853 my bread, 3899 and my water, 4325 and my flesh 2878 that x834 I have killed 2873 z8804 for my shearers, 1494 z8802 and give 5414 z8804 [it] unto men, y582 x376 whom x834 I know 3045 z8804 not x3808 whence x335 x4480 x2088 they x1992 [be]?

 25:12 So David's 1732 young men 5288 turned 2015 z8799 their way, 1870 and went again, 7725 z8799 and came 935 z8799 and told 5046 z8686 him all x3605 those x428 sayings. 1697

 25:13 And David 1732 said 559 z8799 unto his men, y582 x376 Gird ye on 2296 z8798 every man 376 x853 his sword. 2719 And they girded on 2296 z8799 every man 376 x853 his sword; 2719 and David 1732 also x1571 girded on 2296 z8799 x853 his sword: 2719 and there went up 5927 z8799 after 310 David 1732 about four 702 hundred 3967 men; 376 and two hundred 3967 abode 3427 z8804 by x5921 the stuff. 3627

 25:14 ¶ But one 259 x5288 of the young men 5288 x4480 told 5046 z8689 Abigail, 26 Nabal's 5037 wife, 802 saying, 559 z8800 Behold, x2009 David 1732 sent 7971 z8804 messengers 4397 out of the wilderness 4057 x4480 to salute 1288 z8763 x853 our master; 113 and he railed 5860 z8799 on them.

 25:15 But the men y582 x376 [were] very 3966 good 2896 unto us, and we were not x3808 hurt, 3637 z8717 neither x3808 missed 6485 z8804 we any thing, 3972 as long as 3117 x3605 we were conversant 1980 z8694 with x854 them, when we were x1961 in the fields: 7704

 25:16 They were x1961 a wall 2346 unto x5921 us both x1571 by night 3915 and x1571 day, 3119 all x3605 the while 3117 we were x1961 with x5973 them keeping 7462 z8802 the sheep. 6629

 25:17 Now x6258 therefore know 3045 z8798 and consider 7200 z8798 what x4100 thou wilt do; 6213 z8799 for x3588 evil 7451 is determined 3615 z8804 against x413 our master, 113 and against x5921 all x3605 his household: 1004 for he x1931 [is such] a son 1121 of Belial, 1100 that [a man] cannot speak 1696 z8763 x4480 to x413 him.

 25:18 ¶ Then Abigail 26 made haste, 4116 z8762 and took 3947 z8799 two hundred 3967 loaves, 3899 and two 8147 bottles 5035 of wine, 3196 and five 2568 sheep 6629 ready dressed, 6213 z8803 and five 2568 measures 5429 of parched 7039 [corn], and an hundred 3967 clusters of raisins, 6778 and two hundred 3967 cakes y1690 of figs, x1690 and laid 7760 z8799 [them] on x5921 asses. 2543

 25:19 And she said 559 z8799 unto her servants, 5288 Go on 5674 z8798 before 6440 me; behold, x2005 I come 935 z8802 after 310 you. But she told 5046 z8689 not x3808 her husband 376 Nabal. 5037

 25:20 And it was x1961 [so, as] she x1931 rode 7392 z8802 on x5921 the ass, 2543 that she came down 3381 z8802 by the covert 5643 of the hill, 2022 and, behold, x2009 David 1732 and his men y582 x376 came down 3381 z8802 against 7125 z8800 her; and she met 6298 z8799 them.

 25:21 Now David 1732 had said, 559 z8804 Surely x389 in vain 8267 have I kept 8104 z8804 x853 all x3605 that x834 this 2088 [fellow] hath in the wilderness, 4057 so that nothing 3972 x3808 was missed 6485 z8738 of all x4480 x3605 that x834 [pertained] unto him: and he hath requited 7725 z8686 me evil 7451 for x8478 good. 2896

 25:22 So 3541 and more 3254 z8686 also x3541 do 6213 z8799 God 430 unto the enemies 341 z8802 of David, 1732 if x518 I leave 7604 z8686 of all x4480 x3605 that x834 [pertain] to him by 5704 the morning y1242 light y216 x1242 any that pisseth 8366 z8688 against the wall. 7023

 25:23 And when Abigail 26 saw 7200 z8799 x853 David, 1732 she hasted, 4116 z8762 and lighted x3381 off y3381 z8799 x4480 x5921 the ass, 2543 and fell 5307 z8799 before 639 David 1732 on x5921 her face, 6440 and bowed y7812 z8691 herself x7812 to the ground, 776

 25:24 And fell 5307 z8799 at x5921 his feet, 7272 and said, 559 z8799 Upon me, x589 my lord, 113 [upon] me [let this] iniquity 5771 [be]: and let thine handmaid, 519 I pray thee, x4994 speak 1696 z8762 in thine audience, 241 and hear 8085 z8798 x853 the words 1697 of thine handmaid. y589 x519

 25:25 Let y7760 z8799 not x408 my lord, 113 I pray thee, x4994 regard 3820 x7760 x853 x413 this x2088 man 376 of Belial, 1100 [even] Nabal: 5037 for x3588 as his name 8034 [is], so x3651 [is] he; x1931 Nabal 5037 [is] his name, 8034 and folly 5039 [is] with x5973 him: but I x589 thine handmaid 519 saw 7200 z8804 not x3808 x853 the young men 5288 of my lord, 113 whom x834 thou didst send. 7971 z8804

 25:26 Now x6258 therefore, my lord, 113 [as] the LORD 3068 liveth, 2416 and [as] thy soul 5315 liveth, 2416 seeing x834 the LORD 3068 hath withholden 4513 z8804 thee from coming 935 z8800 x4480 to [shed] blood, 1818 and from avenging 3467 z8687 thyself with thine own hand, 3027 now x6258 let thine enemies, 341 z8802 and they that seek 1245 z8764 evil 7451 to x413 my lord, 113 be x1961 as Nabal. 5037

 25:27 And now x6258 this x2063 blessing 1293 which x834 thine handmaid 8198 hath brought 935 z8689 unto my lord, 113 let it even be given 5414 z8738 unto the young men 5288 that follow 1980 7272 z8693 my lord. 113

 25:28 I pray thee, x4994 forgive 5375 z8798 the trespass 6588 of thine handmaid: 519 for x3588 the LORD 3068 will certainly y6213 z8800 make 6213 z8799 my lord 113 a sure 539 z8737 house; 1004 because x3588 my lord 113 fighteth 3898 z8737 the battles 4421 of the LORD, 3068 and evil 7451 hath not x3808 been found 4672 z8735 in thee [all] thy days. 3117 x4480

 25:29 Yet a man 120 is risen 6965 z8799 to pursue 7291 z8800 thee, and to seek 1245 z8763 x853 thy soul: 5315 but the soul 5315 of my lord 113 shall be x1961 bound 6887 z8803 in the bundle 6872 of life 2416 with x854 the LORD 3068 thy God; 430 and the souls 5315 of thine enemies, 341 z8802 them shall he sling out, 7049 z8762 [as out] of the middle 8432 y3709 of a sling. 7050

 25:30 And it shall come to pass, x1961 when x3588 the LORD 3068 shall have done 6213 z8799 to my lord 113 according to all x3605 x853 the good 2896 that x834 he hath spoken 1696 z8765 concerning x5921 thee, and shall have appointed 6680 z8765 thee ruler 5057 over x5921 Israel; 3478

 25:31 That this x2063 shall be x1961 no x3808 grief 6330 unto thee, nor offence 4383 of heart 3820 unto my lord, 113 either that thou hast shed 8210 z8800 blood 1818 causeless, 2600 or that my lord 113 hath avenged 3467 z8687 himself: but when the LORD 3068 shall have dealt well 3190 z8689 with my lord, 113 then remember 2142 z8804 x853 thine handmaid. 519

 25:32 ¶ And David 1732 said 559 z8799 to Abigail, 26 Blessed 1288 z8803 [be] the LORD 3068 God 430 of Israel, 3478 which x834 sent 7971 z8804 thee this x2088 day 3117 to meet 7125 z8800 me:

 25:33 And blessed 1288 z8803 [be] thy advice, 2940 and blessed 1288 z8803 [be] thou, x859 which x834 hast kept 3607 z8804 me this x2088 day 3117 from coming 935 z8800 x4480 to [shed] blood, 1818 and from avenging 3467 z8687 myself with mine own hand. 3027

 25:34 For in very deed, 199 [as] the LORD 3068 God 430 of Israel 3478 liveth, 2416 which x834 hath kept me back 4513 z8804 from hurting 7489 z8687 x4480 thee, except 3884 x3588 thou hadst hasted 4116 z8765 and come 935 z8799 to meet 7125 z8800 me, surely x3588 there had not x518 been left 3498 z8738 unto Nabal 5037 by x5704 the morning 1242 light 216 any that pisseth 8366 z8688 against the wall. 7023

 25:35 So David 1732 received 3947 z8799 of her hand 3027 x4480 x853 [that] which x834 she had brought 935 z8689 him, and said 559 z8804 unto her, Go up 5927 z8798 in peace 7965 to thine house; 1004 see, 7200 z8798 I have hearkened 8085 z8804 to thy voice, 6963 and have accepted 5375 z8799 thy person. 6440

 25:36 ¶ And Abigail 26 came 935 z8799 to x413 Nabal; 5037 and, behold, x2009 he held a feast 4960 in his house, 1004 like the feast 4960 of a king; 4428 and Nabal's 5037 heart 3820 [was] merry 2896 within x5921 him, for he x1931 [was] very 3966 x5704 drunken: 7910 wherefore she told 5046 z8689 him nothing, 1697 x3808 less 6996 or more, 1419 until x5704 the morning 1242 light. 216

 25:37 But it came to pass x1961 in the morning, 1242 when the wine 3196 was gone out 3318 z8800 of Nabal, 5037 x4480 and his wife 802 had told 5046 z8686 him x853 these x428 things, 1697 that his heart 3820 died 4191 z8799 within 7130 him, and he x1931 became x1961 [as] a stone. 68

 25:38 And it came to pass x1961 about ten 6235 days 3117 [after], that the LORD 3068 smote 5062 z8799 x853 Nabal, 5037 that he died. 4191 z8799

 25:39 ¶ And when David 1732 heard 8085 z8799 that x3588 Nabal 5037 was dead, 4191 z8804 he said, 559 z8799 Blessed 1288 z8803 [be] the LORD, 3068 that x834 hath pleaded 7378 z8804 x853 the cause 7379 of my reproach 2781 from the hand 3027 x4480 of Nabal, 5037 and hath kept 2820 z8804 his servant 5650 from evil: 7451 x4480 for the LORD 3068 hath returned 7725 z8689 the wickedness 7451 of Nabal 5037 upon his own head. 7218 And David 1732 sent 7971 z8799 and communed 1696 z8762 with Abigail, 26 to take 3947 z8800 her to him to wife. 802

 25:40 And when the servants 5650 of David 1732 were come 935 z8799 to x413 Abigail 26 to Carmel, 3760 they spake 1696 z8762 unto x413 her, saying, 559 z8800 David 1732 sent 7971 z8804 us unto x413 thee, to take 3947 z8800 thee to him to wife. 802

 25:41 And she arose, 6965 z8799 and bowed y7812 z8691 herself x7812 on [her] face 639 to the earth, 776 and said, 559 z8799 Behold, x2009 [let] thine handmaid 519 [be] a servant 8198 to wash 7364 z8800 the feet 7272 of the servants 5650 of my lord. 113

 25:42 And Abigail 26 hasted, 4116 z8762 and arose, 6965 z8799 and rode 7392 z8799 upon x5921 an ass, 2543 with five 2568 damsels 5291 of hers that went 1980 z8802 after 7272 her; and she went y3212 z8799 x1980 after 310 the messengers 4397 of David, 1732 and became x1961 his wife. 802

 25:43 David 1732 also took 3947 z8804 Ahinoam 293 of Jezreel; 3157 x4480 and they were x1961 also x1571 both 8147 of them his wives. 802

 25:44 ¶ But Saul 7586 had given 5414 z8804 x853 Michal 4324 his daughter, 1323 David's 1732 wife, 802 to Phalti 6406 the son 1121 of Laish, 3919 which x834 [was] of Gallim. 1554 x4480
