1 Samuel 30

1 The Amalekites spoil Ziklag. 4 David asking counsel is encouraged by God to pursue them. 11 By the means of a revived Egyptian he is brought to the enemies, and recovereth all the spoil. 22 David's law to divide the spoil equally between them that fight and them that keep the stuff. 26 He sendeth presents to his friends.

 30:1 ¶ And it came to pass, x1961 when David 1732 and his men y582 x376 were come 935 z8800 to Ziklag 6860 on the third 7992 day, 3117 that the Amalekites 6003 had invaded 6584 z8804 x413 the south, 5045 and Ziklag, 6860 and smitten 5221 z8686 x853 Ziklag, 6860 and burned 8313 z8799 it with fire; 784

 30:2 And had taken the women y802 captives, 7617 z8799 x853 x802 that x834 [were] therein: they slew 4191 z8689 not x3808 any, 376 either x5704 great 1419 or small, 6996 x4480 but carried [them] away, 5090 z8799 and went y3212 z8799 x1980 on their way. 1870

 30:3 ¶ So David 1732 and his men y582 x376 came 935 z8799 to x413 the city, 5892 and, behold, x2009 [it was] burned 8313 z8803 with fire; 784 and their wives, 802 and their sons, 1121 and their daughters, 1323 were taken captives. 7617 z8738

 30:4 Then David 1732 and the people 5971 that x834 [were] with x854 him lifted up 5375 z8799 x853 their voice 6963 and wept, 1058 z8799 until x5704 x834 they had no more x369 power 3581 to weep. 1058 z8800

 30:5 And David's 1732 two 8147 wives 802 were taken captives, 7617 z8738 Ahinoam 293 the Jezreelitess, 3159 and Abigail 26 the wife 802 of Nabal 5037 the Carmelite. 3761

 30:6 And David 1732 was greatly 3966 distressed; 3334 z8799 for x3588 the people 5971 spake 559 z8804 of stoning 5619 z8800 him, because x3588 the soul 5315 of all x3605 the people 5971 was grieved, 4843 z8804 every man 376 for x5921 his sons 1121 and for x5921 his daughters: 1323 but David 1732 encouraged y2388 z8691 himself x2388 in the LORD 3068 his God. 430

 30:7 And David 1732 said 559 z8799 to x413 Abiathar 54 the priest, 3548 Ahimelech's 288 son, 1121 I pray thee, x4994 bring me hither 5066 z8685 the ephod. 646 And Abiathar 54 brought 5066 z8686 thither x853 the ephod 646 to x413 David. 1732

 30:8 And David 1732 enquired 7592 z8799 at the LORD, 3068 saying, 559 z8800 Shall I pursue 7291 z8799 after 310 this x2088 troop? 1416 shall I overtake 5381 z8686 them? And he answered 559 z8799 him, Pursue: 7291 z8798 for x3588 thou shalt surely y5381 z8687 overtake 5381 z8686 [them], and without fail y5337 z8687 recover 5337 z8686 [all].

 30:9 So David 1732 went, y3212 z8799 x1980 he x1931 and the six 8337 hundred 3967 men 376 that x834 [were] with x854 him, and came 935 z8799 to x5704 the brook 5158 Besor, 1308 where those that were left behind 3498 z8737 stayed. 5975 z8804

 30:10 But David 1732 pursued, 7291 z8799 he x1931 and four 702 hundred 3967 men: 376 for two hundred 3967 x376 abode behind, 5975 z8799 which x834 were so faint 6296 z8765 that they could not go over 5674 z8800 x4480 x853 the brook 5158 Besor. 1308

 30:11 ¶ And they found 4672 z8799 an Egyptian 376 4713 in the field, 7704 and brought 3947 z8799 him to x413 David, 1732 and gave 5414 z8799 him bread, 3899 and he did eat; 398 z8799 and they made him drink 8248 z8686 water; 4325

 30:12 And they gave 5414 z8799 him a piece 6400 of a cake y1690 of figs, x1690 and two 8147 clusters of raisins: 6778 and when he had eaten, 398 z8799 his spirit 7307 came again 7725 z8799 to x413 him: for x3588 he had eaten 398 z8804 no x3808 bread, 3899 nor x3808 drunk 8354 z8804 [any] water, 4325 three 7969 days 3117 and three 7969 nights. 3915

 30:13 And David 1732 said 559 z8799 unto him, To whom x4310 [belongest] thou? x859 and whence x335 x4480 x2088 [art] thou? x859 And he said, 559 z8799 I x595 [am] a young man 5288 of Egypt, 4713 servant 5650 to an Amalekite; 376 6003 and my master 113 left 5800 z8799 me, because x3588 three 7969 days 3117 agone I fell sick. 2470 z8804

 30:14 We x587 made an invasion 6584 z8804 [upon] the south 5045 of the Cherethites, 3774 and upon x5921 [the coast] which x834 [belongeth] to Judah, 3063 and upon x5921 the south 5045 of Caleb; 3612 and we burned 8313 z8804 Ziklag 6860 with fire. 784

 30:15 And David 1732 said 559 z8799 to x413 him, Canst thou bring me down 3381 z8686 to x413 this x2088 company? 1416 And he said, 559 z8799 Swear 7650 z8734 unto me by God, 430 that thou wilt neither x518 kill 4191 z8686 me, nor 518 deliver 5462 z8686 me into the hands 3027 of my master, 113 and I will bring thee down 3381 z8686 to x413 this x2088 company. 1416

 30:16 ¶ And when he had brought him down, 3381 z8686 behold, x2009 [they were] spread abroad 5203 z8803 upon x5921 x6440 all y6440 x3605 the earth, 776 eating 398 z8802 and drinking, 8354 z8802 and dancing, 2287 z8802 because of all x3605 the great 1419 spoil 7998 that x834 they had taken 3947 z8804 out of the land 776 x4480 of the Philistines, 6430 and out of the land 776 x4480 of Judah. 3063

 30:17 And David 1732 smote 5221 z8686 them from the twilight 5399 x4480 even unto x5704 the evening 6153 of the next day: 4283 and there escaped 4422 z8738 not x3808 a man 376 of them, save x3588 x518 four 702 hundred 3967 young 5288 men, 376 which x834 rode 7392 z8804 upon x5921 camels, 1581 and fled. 5127 z8799

 30:18 And David 1732 recovered 5337 z8686 x853 all x3605 that x834 the Amalekites 6002 had carried away: 3947 z8804 and David 1732 rescued 5337 z8689 his two 8147 wives. 802

 30:19 And there was nothing x3808 lacking 5737 z8738 to them, neither 4480 small 6996 nor x5704 great, 1419 neither x5704 sons 1121 nor daughters, 1323 neither spoil, 7998 x4480 nor x5704 any x3605 [thing] that x834 they had taken 3947 z8804 to them: David 1732 recovered 7725 z8689 all. x3605

 30:20 And David 1732 took 3947 z8799 x853 all x3605 the flocks 6629 and the herds, 1241 [which] they drave 5090 z8804 before 6440 those 1931 [other] cattle, 4735 and said, 559 z8799 This x2088 [is] David's 1732 spoil. 7998

 30:21 ¶ And David 1732 came 935 z8799 to x413 the two hundred 3967 men, y582 x376 which x834 were so faint 6296 z8765 that they could not follow 310 y3212 z8800 x1980 David, 1732 whom they had made also to abide 3427 z8686 at the brook 5158 Besor: 1308 and they went forth 3318 z8799 to meet 7125 z8800 David, 1732 and to meet 7125 z8800 the people 5971 that x834 [were] with x854 him: and when David 1732 came near 5066 z8799 to x853 the people, 5971 he saluted 7592 7965 z8799 them.

 30:22 Then answered 6030 z8799 all x3605 the wicked 7451 men 376 and [men] of Belial, 1100 of those y582 x4480 x376 that x834 went 1980 z8804 with x5973 David, 1732 and said, 559 z8799 Because x3282 x834 they went 1980 z8804 not x3808 with x5973 us, we will not x3808 give 5414 z8799 them [ought] of the spoil 7998 x4480 that x834 we have recovered, 5337 z8689 save x3588 x518 to every man 376 x853 his wife 802 and his children, 1121 that they may lead [them] away, 5090 z8799 and depart. y3212 z8799 x1980

 30:23 Then said 559 z8799 David, 1732 Ye shall not x3808 do x6213 so, y6213 z8799 x3651 my brethren, 251 with x854 that which x834 the LORD 3068 hath given 5414 z8804 us, who hath preserved 8104 z8799 us, and delivered 5414 z8799 x853 the company 1416 that came 935 z8802 against x5921 us into our hand. 3027

 30:24 For who x4310 will hearken 8085 z8799 unto you in this x2088 matter? 1697 but x3588 as his part 2506 [is] that goeth down 3381 z8802 z8675 z8717 to the battle, 4421 so [shall] his part 2506 [be] that tarrieth 3427 z8802 by x5921 the stuff: 3627 they shall part 2505 z8799 alike. 3162

 30:25 And it was x1961 [so] from that day 3117 x4480 x1931 forward, 4605 that he made 7760 z8799 it a statute 2706 and an ordinance 4941 for Israel 3478 unto x5704 this x2088 day. 3117

 30:26 ¶ And when David 1732 came 935 z8799 to x413 Ziklag, 6860 he sent 7971 z8762 of the spoil 7998 x4480 unto the elders 2205 of Judah, 3063 [even] to his friends, 7453 saying, 559 z8800 Behold x2009 a present 1293 for you of the spoil 7998 x4480 of the enemies 341 z8802 of the LORD; 3068

 30:27 To [them] y834 which x834 [were] in Bethel, 1008 and to [them] which x834 [were] in south 5045 Ramoth, 7418 and to [them] which x834 [were] in Jattir, 3492

 30:28 And to [them] which x834 [were] in Aroer, 6177 and to [them] which x834 [were] in Siphmoth, 8224 and to [them] which x834 [were] in Eshtemoa, 851

 30:29 And to [them] which x834 [were] in Rachal, 7403 and to [them] which x834 [were] in the cities 5892 of the Jerahmeelites, 3397 and to [them] which x834 [were] in the cities 5892 of the Kenites, 7017

 30:30 And to [them] which x834 [were] in Hormah, 2767 and to [them] which x834 [were] in Chorashan, 3565 and to [them] which x834 [were] in Athach, 6269

 30:31 And to [them] which x834 [were] in Hebron, 2275 and to all x3605 the places 4725 where x834 x8033 David 1732 himself x1931 and his men y582 x376 were wont to haunt. 1980 z8694
