2 Samuel 5

1 The Tribes come to Hebron to anoint David over Israel. 4 David's age. 6 He taking Zion from the Jebusites dwelleth in it. 11 Hiram sendeth to David. 13 Eleven sons are born to him in Jerusalem. 17 David directed by God smiteth the Philistines at Baal-perazim, 22 and again at the mulberry trees.

 5:1 ¶ Then came 935 z8799 all x3605 the tribes 7626 of Israel 3478 to x413 Dauid 1732 vnto Hebron, 2275 and spake, 559 z8799 saying, 559 z8800 Behold, x2009 we x587 are thy bone, 6106 and thy flesh. 1320

 5:2 Also x1571 in time past 865 8032 when Saul 7586 was x1961 king 4428 ouer x5921 vs, thou x859 [wast x1961 hee] that leddest out 3318 z8688 and broughtest x935 x853 in y935 z8688 Israel: 3478 and the LORD 3068 said 559 z8799 to thee, Thou x859 shalt feed 7462 z8799 x853 my people 5971 x853 Israel, 3478 and thou x859 shalt bee x1961 a captaine 5057 ouer x5921 Israel. 3478

 5:3 So all x3605 the Elders 2205 of Israel 3478 came 935 z8799 to x413 the King 4428 to Hebron, 2275 and King 4428 Dauid 1732 made 3772 z8799 a league 1285 with them in Hebron 2275 before 6440 the LORD: 3068 and they anointed 4886 z8799 x853 Dauid 1732 King 4428 ouer x5921 Israel. 3478

 5:4 ¶ Dauid 1732 was thirtie 7970 yeeres 8141 old 1121 when he began to reigne, 4427 z8800 [and] he reigned 4427 z8804 fourtie 705 yeeres. 8141

 5:5 In Hebron 2275 he reigned 4427 z8804 ouer x5921 Iudah 3063 seuen 7651 yeeres, 8141 and sixe 8337 moneths: 2320 and in Ierusalem 3389 he reigned 4427 z8804 thirty 7970 and three 7969 yeres 8141 ouer x5921 all x3605 Israel 3478 and Iudah. 3063

 5:6 ¶ And the king 4428 and his men y582 x376 went y3212 z8799 x1980 to Ierusalem, 3389 vnto x413 the Iebusites, 2983 the inhabitants 3427 z8802 of the land: 776 which spake 559 z8799 vnto Dauid, 1732 saying, 559 z8800 Except x3588 x518 thou take away 5493 z8687 the blind 5787 and the lame, 6455 thou shalt not x3808 come in 935 z8799 hither: x2008 Thinking, 559 z8800 Dauid 1732 cannot x3808 come in 935 z8799 hither. x2008

 5:7 Neuerthelesse, Dauid 1732 tooke 3920 z8799 x853 the strong hold 4686 of Zion: 6726 the same x1931 [is] the citie 5892 of Dauid. 1732

 5:8 And Dauid 1732 said 559 z8799 on that x1931 day, 3117 Whosoeuer x3605 getteth vp 5060 z8799 to the gutter, 6794 and smiteth 5221 z8688 the Iebusites, 2983 and the lame, 6455 and the blind, 5787 [that are] hated 8130 z8803 of Dauids 1732 soule, 5315 [he shall be chiefe and captaine]: Wherefore x5921 x3651 they said, 559 z8799 The blind 5787 and the lame 6455 shall not x3808 come 935 z8799 into x413 the house. 1004

 5:9 So Dauid 1732 dwelt 3427 z8799 in the fort, 4686 and called 7121 z8799 it the citie 5892 of Dauid, 1732 and Dauid 1732 built 1129 z8799 round about, 5439 from x4480 Millo 4407 and inward. 1004

 5:10 And Dauid 1732 went y3212 z8799 on, 1980 z8800 and grew great, 1419 and the LORD 3068 God 430 of hosts 6635 was with x5973 him.

 5:12 And Dauid 1732 perceiued 3045 z8799 that x3588 the LORD 3068 had established 3559 z8689 him King 4428 ouer x5921 Israel, 3478 and that x3588 he had exalted 5375 z8765 his kingdome 4467 for his people 5971 Israels 3478 sake. x5668

 5:13 ¶ And Dauid 1732 tooke 3947 z8799 him mo x5750 concubines 6370 and wiues 802 out of Ierusalem, 3389 x4480 after 310 he was come 935 z8800 from Hebron, 2275 x4480 and there were yet x5750 sonnes 1121 and daughters 1323 borne 3205 z8735 to Dauid. 1732

 5:14 And these x428 [be] the names 8034 of those that [were] borne 3209 vnto him in Ierusalem, 3389 Shammua, 8051 & Shobab, 7727 and Nathan, 5416 and Solomon: 8010

 5:15 Ibhar 2984 also, and Elishua, 474 and Nepheg, 5298 and Iaphia, 3309

 5:16 And Elishama, 476 and Eliada, 450 and Eliphalet. 467

 5:17 ¶ But when the Philistines 6430 heard 8085 z8799 that x3588 they had anointed 4886 z8804 x853 Dauid 1732 King 4428 ouer x5921 Israel, 3478 all x3605 the Philistines 6430 came vp 5927 z8799 to seeke 1245 z8763 x853 Dauid, 1732 and Dauid 1732 heard 8085 z8799 [of it], and went downe 3381 z8799 to x413 the hold. 4686

 5:18 The Philistines 6430 also came, 935 z8804 and spred y5203 z8735 themselues x5203 in the valley 6010 of Rephaim. 7497

 5:19 And Dauid 1732 enquired 7592 z8799 of the LORD, 3068 saying, 559 z8800 Shall I goe vp 5927 z8799 to x413 the Philistines? 6430 wilt thou deliuer 5414 z8799 them into mine hand? 3027 And the LORD 3068 said 559 z8799 vnto x413 Dauid, 1732 Goe vp: 5927 z8798 for x3588 I will doubtlesse y5414 z8800 deliuer 5414 z8799 x853 the Philistines 6430 into thine hand. 3027

 5:20 And Dauid 1732 came 935 z8799 to Baal-Perazim, 1188 and Dauid 1732 smote 5221 z8686 them there, x8033 and said, 559 z8799 The LORD 3068 hath broken foorth y6555 z8804 vpon x6555 x853 mine enemies 341 z8802 before 6440 me, as the breach 6556 of waters. 4325 Therefore x5921 x3651 he called 7121 z8804 the name 8034 of that x1931 place, 4725 Baal-Perazim. 1188

 5:21 And there x8033 they left 5800 z8799 x853 their images, 6091 and Dauid 1732 and his men y582 x376 burnt 5375 z8799 them.

 5:22 ¶ And the Philistines 6430 came vp 5927 z8800 yet x5750 againe, 3254 z8686 and spread y5203 z8735 themselues x5203 in the valley 6010 of Rephaim. 7497

 5:23 And when Dauid 1732 enquired 7592 z8799 of the LORD, 3068 he said, 559 z8799 Thou shalt not x3808 goe vp: 5927 z8799 [but] fetch a compasse 5437 z8685 x413 behinde 310 them, and come 935 z8804 vpon them ouer against 4136 x4480 the Mulbery trees. 1057

 5:24 And let it be x1961 when thou hearest 8085 z8800 x853 the sound 6963 of a going 6807 in the tops 7218 of the mulbery trees, 1057 that then x227 thou shalt bestirre 2782 z8799 thy selfe: for x3588 then x227 shal the LORD 3068 goe out 3318 z8804 before 6440 thee, to smite 5221 z8687 the host 4264 of the Philistines. 6430

 5:25 And Dauid 1732 did x6213 so, y6213 z8799 x3651 as x834 the LORD 3068 had commaunded 6680 z8765 him; and smote 5221 z8686 x853 the Philistines 6430 from Geba, 1387 x4480 vntil thou come 935 z8800 to Gazer. 1507
