2 Samuel 16

1 Ziba, by presents and false suggestions, obtaineth his master's inheritance. 5 At Bahurim Shimei curseth David. 9 David with patience abstaineth, and restraineth others, from revenge. 15 Hushai insinuateth himself into Absalom's counsel.

 16:1 ¶ And when Dauid 1732 was a little 4592 past 5674 z8804 the top 7218 x4480 [of the hill], Beholde, x2009 Ziba 6717 the seruant 5288 of Mephibosheth 4648 met 7125 z8800 him with a couple 6776 of asses 2543 sadled, 2280 z8803 and vpon x5921 them two hundred 3967 [loaues] of bread, 3899 and an hundred 3967 bunches of raisins, 6778 and an hundred 3967 of summer fruits, 7019 and a bottell 5035 of wine. 3196

 16:2 And the King 4428 saide 559 z8799 vnto x413 Ziba, 6717 What x4100 meanest thou by these? x428 And Ziba 6717 saide, 559 z8799 The asses 2543 bee for the kings 4428 houshold 1004 to ride on, 7392 z8800 and the bread 3899 and summer fruit 7019 for the yong men 5288 to eate, 398 z8800 and the wine, 3196 that such as be faint 3287 in the wildernesse, 4057 may drinke. 8354 z8800

 16:3 And the king 4428 said, 559 z8799 And where x346 is thy masters 113 sonne? 1121 and Ziba 6717 said 559 z8799 vnto x413 the king, 4428 Behold, x2009 he abideth 3427 z8802 at Ierusalem: 3389 for x3588 hee said, 559 z8804 To day 3117 shall the house 1004 of Israel 3478 restore 7725 z8686 mee x853 the kingdome 4468 of my father. 1

 16:4 Then said 559 z8799 the king 4428 to Ziba, 6717 Behold, x2009 thine are all x3605 that x834 pertained vnto Mephibosheth. 4648 And Ziba 6717 saide, 559 z8799 I humbly y7812 z8694 beseech x7812 thee [that] I may finde 4672 z8799 grace 2580 in thy sight, 5869 my lord, 113 O king. 4428

 16:5 ¶ And when king 4428 Dauid 1732 came 935 z8804 to x5704 Bahurim, 980 behold, x2009 thence x4480 x8033 came out 3318 z8802 a man 376 of the family 4940 x4480 of the house 1004 of Saul, 7586 whose name 8034 was Shimei 8096 the sonne 1121 of Gera: 1617 hee came foorth, 3318 z8802 and cursed 7043 z8764 still as he came. 3318 z8800

 16:6 And he cast 5619 z8762 stones 68 at x853 Dauid, 1732 and at all x3605 the seruants 5650 of king 4428 Dauid: 1732 and all x3605 the people, 5971 and all x3605 the mighty men 1368 were on his right hand, 3225 x4480 and on his left. 8040 x4480

 16:7 And thus x3541 said 559 z8804 Shimei 8096 when hee cursed, 7043 z8763 Come out, 3318 z8798 come out 3318 z8798 thou bloody 1818 man, 376 and thou man 376 of Belial: 1100

 16:8 The LORD 3068 hath returned 7725 z8689 vpon x5921 thee all x3605 the blood 1818 of the house 1004 of Saul, 7586 in whose x834 stead x8478 thou hast raigned, 4427 z8804 and the LORD 3068 hath deliuered 5414 z8799 x853 the kingdome 4410 into the hand 3027 of Absalom 53 thy sonne: 1121 and behold, x2009 thou [art taken] to thy mischiefe, 7451 because x3588 thou x859 [art] a bloody 1818 man. 376

 16:9 ¶ Then said 559 z8799 Abishai 52 the sonne 1121 of Zeruiah 6870 vnto x413 the king, 4428 Why x4100 should this x2088 dead 4191 z8801 dogge 3611 curse 7043 z8762 x853 my lord 113 the king? 4428 let mee goe ouer, 5674 z8799 I pray thee, x4994 and take off 5493 z8686 x853 his head. 7218

 16:10 And the king 4428 said, 559 z8799 What x4100 haue I to doe with you, ye sonnes 1121 of Zeruiah? 6870 So x3541 let him curse, 7043 z8762 because x3588 the LORD 3068 hath said 559 z8804 vnto him, Curse 7043 z8761 x853 Dauid. 1732 Who x4310 shall then say, 559 z8799 Wherefore x4069 hast thou done x6213 so? y6213 z8804 x3651

 16:11 And Dauid 1732 said 559 z8799 to x413 Abishai, 52 and to x413 all x3605 his seruants, 5650 Beholde, x2009 my sonne 1121 which x834 came foorth 3318 z8804 of my bowels, 4578 x4480 seeketh 1245 z8764 x853 my life: 5315 how much more x637 x3588 now x6258 [may] this Beniamite 1145 [doe it]? let him alone, y3240 z8685 x5117 and let him curse: 7043 z8762 for x3588 the LORD 3068 hath bidden 559 z8804 him.

 16:12 It may bee x194 that the LORD 3068 will looke 7200 z8799 on mine affliction, 6040 y5869 z8675 and that the LORD 3068 will requite 7725 z8689 good 2896 for x8478 his cursing 7045 this x2088 day. 3117

 16:13 And as Dauid 1732 and his men y582 x376 went y3212 z8799 x1980 by the way, 1870 Shimei 8096 went along 1980 z8802 on the hilles 2022 side 6763 ouer against 5980 him, and cursed 7043 z8762 as hee went, 1980 z8800 and threw 5619 z8762 stones 68 at 5980 him, and cast 6080 z8765 dust. 6083

 16:14 And the king, 4428 and all x3605 the people 5971 that x834 were with x854 him, came 935 z8799 weary, 5889 and refreshed y5314 z8735 themselues x5314 there. x8033

 16:15 ¶ And Absalom 53 and al x3605 the people 5971 the men 376 of Israel, 3478 came 935 z8804 to Ierusalem, 3389 and Ahithophel 302 with x854 him.

 16:16 And it came to passe x1961 when x834 Hushai 2365 the Archite, 757 Dauids 1732 friend, 7463 was come 935 z8804 vnto x413 Absalom, 53 that Hushai 2365 said 559 z8799 vnto x413 Absalom, 53 God saue 2421 z8799 the king, 4428 God saue 2421 z8799 the king. 4428

 16:17 And Absalom 53 said 559 z8799 to x413 Hushai, 2365 [Is] this x2088 thy kindnesse 2617 to x853 thy friend? 7453 Why x4100 wentest 1980 z8804 thou not x3808 with x854 thy friend? 7453

 16:18 And Hushai 2365 said 559 z8799 vnto x413 Absalom, 53 Nay, x3808 but x3588 whom x834 the LORD 3068 and this x2088 people, 5971 and all x3605 the men 376 of Israel 3478 chuse, 977 z8804 his will I bee, x1961 and with x854 him will I abide. 3427 z8799

 16:19 And againe, 8145 whom x4310 should I x589 serue? 5647 z8799 should I not x3808 [serue] in the presence 6440 of his sonne? 1121 as x834 I haue serued 5647 z8804 in thy fathers 1 presence, 6440 so x3651 will I be x1961 in thy presence. 6440

 16:20 ¶ Then said 559 z8799 Absalom 53 to x413 Ahithophel, 302 Giue 3051 z8798 counsell 6098 among you what x4100 we shall doe. 6213 z8799

 16:21 And Ahithophel 302 said 559 z8799 vnto x413 Absalom, 53 Goe x935 in y935 z8798 vnto x413 thy fathers 1 concubines, 6370 which x834 he hath left y3240 z8689 x5117 to keepe 8104 z8800 the house, 1004 and all x3605 Israel 3478 shall heare 8085 z8804 that x3588 thou art abhorred 887 z8738 of x854 thy father, 1 then shall the hands 3027 of all x3605 that x834 are with x854 thee be strong. 2388 z8804

 16:22 So they spread 5186 z8686 Absalom 53 a tent 168 vpon x5921 the top x1406 of the house, y1406 and Absalom 53 went x935 in y935 z8799 vnto x413 his fathers 1 concubines, 6370 in the sight 5869 of all x3605 Israel. 3478

 16:23 And the counsell 6098 of Ahithophel 302 which x834 he counselled 3289 z8804 in those x1992 dayes, 3117 was as x834 if a man 376 had enquired 7592 z8799 at the Oracle 1697 of God: 430 so x3651 [was] all x3605 the counsell 6098 of Ahithophel, 302 both x1571 with Dauid 1732 and x1571 with Absalom. 53
