1 Joab causeth the king to cease mourning. 9 The Israelites are earnest to bring the king back. 11 David sendeth to the priests to incite them of Judah. 18 Shimei is pardoned. 24 Mephibosheth excused. 32 Barzillai dismissed, Chimham his son is taken into the king's family. 41 The Israelites expostulate with Judah for bringing home the king without them.

 19:1 ¶ And it was told 5046 z8714 Ioab, 3097 Beholde, x2009 the king 4428 weepeth 1058 z8802 and mourneth 56 z8691 for x5921 Absalom. 53

 19:2 And the victorie 8668 that x1961 day 3117 was turned into mourning 60 vnto all x3605 the people: 5971 for x3588 the people 5971 heard 8085 z8804 say 559 z8800 that x1931 day, 3117 how the king 4428 was grieued 6087 z8738 for x5921 his sonne. 1121

 19:3 And the people 5971 gate 935 z8800 them by stealth 1589 z8691 that x1931 day 3117 into the citie, 5892 as x834 people 5971 beeing ashamed 3637 z8737 steale away 1589 z8691 when they flee 5127 z8800 in battell. 4421

 19:4 But the king 4428 couered 3813 z8804 x853 his face, 6440 and the king 4428 cried 2199 z8799 with a loud 1419 voyce, 6963 O my sonne 1121 Absalom, 53 O Absalom 53 my sonne, 1121 my sonne. 1121

 19:5 And Ioab 3097 came 935 z8799 into the house 1004 to x413 the king, 4428 and said, 559 z8799 Thou hast shamed 3001 z8689 this day 3117 x853 the faces 6440 of all x3605 thy seruants, 5650 which this day 3117 haue saued 4422 z8764 x853 thy life, 5315 and the liues 5315 of thy sonnes, 1121 & of thy daughters, 1323 and the liues 5315 of thy wiues, 802 and the liues 5315 of thy concubines, 6370

 19:6 In that thou louest 157 z8800 x853 thine enemies, 8130 z8802 and hatest 8130 z8800 x853 thy friends; 157 z8802 for x3588 thou hast declared 5046 z8689 this day, 3117 that x3588 thou regardest neither x369 princes, 8269 nor seruants: 5650 for x3588 this day 3117 I perceiue, 3045 z8804 that x3588 if 3863 Absalom 53 had liued, 2416 and all x3605 we had died 4191 z8801 this day, 3117 then x227 it had pleased thee well. 3477 5869

 19:8 Then the King 4428 rose, 6965 z8799 and sate 3427 z8799 in the gate: 8179 and they told 5046 z8689 vnto all x3605 the people, 5971 saying, 559 z8800 Behold, x2009 the king 4428 doth sit 3427 z8802 in the gate: 8179 and all x3605 the people 5971 came 935 z8799 before 6440 the king: 4428 for Israel 3478 had fled 5127 z8804 euery man 376 to his tent. 168

 19:9 ¶ And all x3605 the people 5971 were x1961 at strife 1777 z8737 throughout all x3605 the tribes 7626 of Israel, 3478 saying, 559 z8800 The king 4428 saued 5337 z8689 vs out of the hand 3709 x4480 of our enemies, 341 z8802 and he x1931 deliuered 4422 z8765 vs out of the hand 3709 x4480 of the Philistines, 6430 and now x6258 he is fled 1272 z8804 out of x4480 the land 776 for x4480 x5921 Absalom. 53

 19:10 And Absalom 53 whom x834 wee anointed 4886 z8804 ouer x5921 vs, is dead 4191 z8804 in battell: 4421 nowe x6258 therefore why x4100 speake 2790 z8688 ye x859 not a word of bringing 7725 z0 x853 the king 4428 backe? y7725 z8687

 19:11 ¶ And King 4428 Dauid 1732 sent 7971 z8804 to x413 Zadok 6659 and to x413 Abiathar 54 the priests, 3548 saying, 559 z8800 Speake 1696 z8761 vnto x413 the Elders 2205 of Iudah, 3063 saying, 559 z8800 Why x4100 are x1961 ye the last 314 to bring 7725 z0 x853 the king 4428 backe y7725 z8687 to x413 his house? 1004 (seeing the speech 1697 of all x3605 Israel 3478 is come 935 z8804 to x413 the king, 4428 euen to x413 his house.) 1004

 19:12 Yee x859 [are] my brethren, 251 Yee x859 [are] my bones 6106 and my flesh: 1320 wherfore x4100 then are x1961 ye the last 314 to bring backe 7725 z8687 x853 the king? 4428

 19:13 And say 559 z8799 ye to Amasa: 6021 [Art] thou x859 not x3808 of my bone, 6106 and of my flesh? 1320 God 430 do 6213 z8799 so x3541 to me, and more 3254 z8686 also, x3541 if x518 thou be x1961 not x3808 captaine 8269 of the hoste 6635 before 6440 me continually 3117 x3605 in the roome 8478 of Ioab. 3097

 19:14 And he bowed 5186 z8686 x853 the heart 3824 of all x3605 the men 376 of Iudah, 3063 euen as [the heart] of one 259 man, 376 so that they sent 7971 z8799 [this word] vnto x413 the King, 4428 Returne 7725 z8798 thou x859 and all x3605 thy seruants. 5650

 19:15 So the King 4428 returned, 7725 z8799 and came 935 z8799 to x5704 Iordan: 3383 and Iudah 3063 came 935 z8804 to Gilgal, 1537 to goe y3212 z8800 x1980 to meet 7125 z8800 the King, 4428 to conduct y5674 z0 the king y4428 ouer 5674 853 z8687 x4428 Iordane. 3383

 19:16 ¶ And Shimei 8096 the sonne 1121 of Gera, 1617 a Beniamite, 1145 which x834 [wass] of Bahurim, 980 x4480 hasted, 4116 z8762 & came downe 3381 z8799 with x5973 the men 376 of Iudah, 3063 to meet 7125 z8800 King 4428 Dauid. 1732

 19:17 And there [were] a thousand 505 men 376 of Beniamin y1145 x4480 x1144 with x5973 him, and Ziba 6717 the seruant 5288 of the house 1004 of Saul, 7586 and his fifteene 2568 6240 sonnes 1121 and his twenty 6242 seruants 5650 with x854 him, and they went ouer 6743 z8804 Iordane 3383 before 6440 the King. 4428

 19:18 And there went ouer 5674 z8804 a ferry-boat 5679 to cary ouer 5674 z8687 x853 the kings 4428 houshold, 1004 and to doe 6213 z8800 what he thought 5869 good: 2896 and Shimei 8096 the sonne 1121 of Gera 1617 fell downe 5307 z8804 before 6440 the king 4428 as he was come ouer 5674 z8800 Iordane; 3383

 19:19 And said 559 z8799 vnto x413 the king, 4428 Let not x408 my lord 113 impute 2803 z8799 iniquitie 5771 vnto me, neither x408 do thou remember 2142 z8799 x853 that which x834 thy seruant 5650 did peruersly 5753 z8689 the day 3117 that x834 my lord 113 the king 4428 went out 3318 z8804 of Ierusalem, 3389 x4480 that the king 4428 should take 7760 z8800 it to x413 his heart. 3820

 19:20 For x3588 thy seruant 5650 doeth know 3045 z8804 that x3588 I x589 haue sinned: 2398 z8804 therefore behold, x2009 I am come 935 z8804 the first 7223 this day 3117 of all x3605 the house 1004 of Ioseph, 3130 to goe downe 3381 z8800 to meete 7125 z8800 my lord 113 the king. 4428

 19:21 But Abishai 52 the sonne 1121 of Zeruiah 6870 answered, 6030 z8799 and sayd, 559 z8799 Shall not x3808 Shimei 8096 be put to death 4191 z8714 for x8478 this, x2063 because x3588 hee cursed 7043 z8765 x853 the LORDS 3068 Anointed? 4899

 19:22 And Dauid 1732 said, 559 z8799 What x4100 haue I to doe with you, yee sonnes 1121 of Zeruiah, 6870 that x3588 yee should this day 3117 be x1961 aduersaries 7854 vnto me? shall there any man 376 be put to death 4191 z8714 this day 3117 in Israel? 3478 for x3588 doe not x3808 I know, 3045 z8804 that x3588 I x589 [am] this day 3117 King 4428 ouer x5921 Israel? 3478

 19:23 Therfore the king 4428 said 559 z8799 vnto x413 Shimei, 8096 Thou shalt not x3808 die: 4191 z8799 and the King 4428 sware 7650 z8735 vnto him.

 19:24 ¶ And Mephibosheth 4648 the sonne 1121 of Saul 7586 came downe 3381 z8804 to meet 7125 z8800 the king, 4428 and had neither 3808 dressed 6213 z8804 his feete, 7272 nor x3808 trimmed 6213 z8804 his beard, 8222 nor x3808 washed 3526 z8765 his clothes, 899 from x4480 the day 3117 the King 4428 departed, y3212 z8800 x1980 vntill x5704 the day 3117 hee came 935 z8804 againe in peace. 7965

 19:25 And it came to passe x1961 when x3588 he was come 935 z8804 to Ierusalem 3389 to meete 7125 z8800 the King, 4428 that the King 4428 sayd 559 z8799 vnto him, Wherefore x4100 wentest 1980 z8804 not x3808 thou with x5973 me, Mephibosheth? 4648

 19:26 And hee answered, 559 z8799 My lord 113 O king, 4428 my seruant 5650 deceiued 7411 z8765 mee; for x3588 thy seruant 5650 sayd, 559 z8804 I will saddle 2280 z8799 me an asse 2543 that I may ride 7392 z8799 thereon, x5921 and goe y3212 z8799 x1980 to x854 the king, 4428 because x3588 thy seruant 5650 is lame: 6455

 19:27 And hee hath slandered 7270 z8762 thy seruant 5650 vnto x413 my lord 113 the king, 4428 but my lord 113 the King 4428 [is] as an Angel 4397 of God: 430 doe 6213 z8798 therefore what [is] good 2896 in thine eyes. 5869

 19:28 For x3588 all x3605 of my fathers 1 house 1004 were x1961 but y3808 x3588 x518 dead 4194 men y582 x376 before x6440 my lord 113 the king: 4428 yet diddest thou set 7896 z8799 x853 thy seruant 5650 among them that did eate 398 z8802 at thine owne table: 7979 what x4100 right 6666 therefore haue 3426 I yet x5759 to crie 2199 z8800 any more x5750 vnto x413 the king? 4428

 19:29 And the king 4428 said 559 z8799 vnto him, Why x4100 speakest 1696 z8762 thou any more x5750 of thy matters? 1697 I haue said, 559 z8804 Thou x859 and Ziba 6717 diuide 2505 z8799 x853 the land. 7704

 19:30 And Mephibosheth 4648 said 559 z8799 vnto x413 the king, 4428 Yea, x1571 let him take 3947 z8799 x853 all, x3605 forasmuch 310 x834 as y834 my lorde 113 the king 4428 is come againe 935 z8804 in peace 7965 vnto x413 his owne house. 1004

 19:31 ¶ And Barzillai 1271 the Gileadite 1569 came downe 3381 z8804 from Rogelim, 7274 x4480 and went ouer 5674 z8799 Iordane 3383 with x854 the king, 4428 to conduct y7971 z8763 him ouer x7971 x853 Iordane. 3383

 19:32 Now Barzillai 1271 was a very 3966 aged 2204 z8804 man, [euen] fourescore 8084 yeeres 8141 olde, 1121 and he x1931 had prouided x853 the king 4428 of sustenance 3557 z8773 while he lay 7871 at Mahanaim: 4266 for x3588 he x1931 [was] a very 3966 great 1419 man. 376

 19:33 And the king 4428 said 559 z8799 vnto x413 Barzillai, 1271 Come x5674 thou x859 ouer y5674 z8798 with x854 me, and I will feede 3557 z8773 thee with x5973 me in Ierusalem. 3389

 19:34 And Barzillai 1271 sayde 559 z8799 vnto x413 the king, 4428 How x4100 long 3117 x8141 haue I to liue, 2416 y8141 that x3588 I should goe vp 5927 z8799 with x854 the King 4428 vnto Ierusalem? 3389

 19:35 I x595 [am] this day 3117 fourescore 8084 yeeres 8141 olde: 1121 [and] can I discerne 3045 z8799 betweene x996 good 2896 and euill? 7451 Can x518 thy seruant 5650 taste 2938 z8799 x853 what 834 I eate, 398 z8799 or what 834 I drinke? 8354 z8799 can x518 I heare 8085 z8799 any more x5750 the voice 6963 of singing men 7891 z8802 and singing women? 7891 z8802 wherfore x4100 then should thy seruant 5650 bee x1961 yet x5750 a burden 4853 vnto x413 my lord 113 the king? 4428

 19:36 Thy seruant 5650 will goe y5674 z0 a little way y4592 ouer 5674 z8799 x4592 x853 Iordane 3383 with x854 the king: 4428 and why x4100 should the king 4428 recompense 1580 z8799 it me with such x2063 a reward? 1578

 19:37 Let thy seruant, 5650 I pray thee, x4994 turne backe againe, 7725 z8799 that I may die 4191 z8799 in mine owne citie, 5892 and [be buried] by x5973 the graue 6913 of my father, 1 and of my mother: 517 but behold x2009 thy seruant 5650 Chimham, 3643 let him go ouer 5674 z8799 with x5973 my lord 113 the king, 4428 and doe 6213 z8798 to him x853 what x834 shall seeme x5869 good 2896 y5869 vnto thee.

 19:38 And the king 4428 answered, 559 z8799 Chimham 3643 shal goe y5674 z8799 ouer x5674 with x854 me, and I x589 will doe 6213 z8799 to him x853 that which shall seeme x5869 good 2896 y5869 vnto thee: and whatsoeuer x834 x3605 thou shalt require 977 z8799 of x5921 me, that will I doe 6213 z8799 for thee.

 19:39 And all x3605 the people 5971 went ouer 5674 z8799 x853 Iordane: 3383 and when the king 4428 was come ouer, 5674 z8804 the king 4428 kissed 5401 z8799 Barzillai, 1271 and blessed 1288 z8762 him, and he returned 7725 z8799 vnto his owne place. 4725

 19:40 Then the King 4428 went on 5674 z8799 to Gilgal, 1537 and Chimham 3643 went on 5674 z8804 with x5973 him: and all x3605 the people 5971 of Iudah 3063 conducted 5674 z8689 z8675 z8686 x853 the king, 4428 and also x1571 halfe 2677 the people 5971 of Israel. 3478

 19:41 ¶ And behold, x2009 all x3605 the men 376 of Israel 3478 came 935 z8802 to x413 the king, 4428 and said 559 z8799 vnto x413 the king, 4428 Why x4069 haue our brethren 251 the men 376 of Iudah 3063 stollen thee away, 1589 z8804 and haue brought 5674 z8686 x853 the King 4428 and his houshold, 1004 and all x3605 Dauids 1732 men y582 x376 with x5973 him, ouer x853 Iordane? 3383

 19:42 And all x3605 the men 376 of Iudah 3063 answered 6030 z8799 x5921 the men 376 of Israel, 3478 Because x3588 the king 4428 is neere of kinne 7138 to x413 vs: wherefore x4100 x2088 then be ye angrie 2734 z8804 for x5921 this x2088 matter? 1697 Haue we eaten y398 z8804 at all 398 z8800 of x4480 the kings 4428 cost? or x518 hath he giuen y5375 z8765 vs any gift? 5379 x5375

 19:43 And the men 376 of Israel 3478 answered 6030 z8799 x853 the men 376 of Iudah, 3063 and said, 559 z8799 Wee haue ten 6235 parts 3027 in the king, 4428 and we 589 haue also x1571 more [right] in Dauid 1732 then x4480 yee: why x4069 then did yee despise 7043 z8689 vs, that our aduice 1697 should not x3808 be x1961 first 7223 had in bringing backe 7725 z8687 x853 our king? 4428 And the wordes 1697 of the men 376 of Iudah 3063 were fiercer 7185 z8799 then the words 1697 x4480 of the men 376 of Israel. 3478
