2 Samuel 22

A psalm of thanksgiving for God's powerful deliverance, and manifold blessings.

 22:1 ¶ And Dauid 1732 spake 1696 z8762 vnto the LORD 3068 x853 the wordes 1697 of this x2063 song, 7892 in the day 3117 [that] the LORD 3068 had deliuered 5337 z8689 him out of the hand 3709 x4480 of all x3605 his enemies, 341 z8802 and out of the hand 3709 x4480 of Saul. 7586

 22:2 And he said, 559 z8799 The LORD 3068 [is] my rocke 5553 and my fortresse, 4686 and my deliuerer: 6403 z8764

 22:3 The God 430 of my rocke, 6697 in him will I trust: 2620 z8799 hee [is] my shield, 4043 and the horne 7161 of my saluation, 3468 my high tower, 4869 and my refuge, 4498 my Sauiour; 3467 z8688 thou sauest 3467 z8686 me from violence. 2555 x4480

 22:4 I will call y7121 z8799 on x7121 the LORD, 3068 who is worthy to be praised: 1984 z8794 so shall I be saued 3467 z8735 from mine enemies. 341 z8802 x4480

 22:5 When x3588 the waues 4867 of death 4194 compassed 661 z8804 me: the floods 5158 of vngodly x1100 men y1100 made me afraid. 1204 z8762

 22:6 The sorowes 2256 of Hell 7585 compassed me about: 5437 z8804 the snares 4170 of death 4194 preuented 6923 z8765 me.

 22:7 In my distresse 6862 I called y7121 z8799 vpon x7121 the LORD, 3068 and cryed 7121 z8799 to x413 my God, 430 and hee did heare 8085 z8799 my voice 6963 out of his Temple, 1964 x4480 and my crie 7775 [did enter] into his eares. 241

 22:8 Then the earth 776 shooke 1607 z8691 z8675 z8799 and trembled: 7493 z8799 the foundations 4146 of heauen 8064 mooued 7264 z8799 and shooke, 1607 z8691 because x3588 hee was wroth. 2734 z8804

 22:9 There went vp 5927 z8804 a smoake 6227 out of his nostrils, 639 and fire 784 out of his mouth 6310 x4480 deuoured: 398 z8799 coales 1513 were kindled 1197 z8804 by x4480 it.

 22:10 Hee bowed 5186 z8799 the heauens 8064 also and came downe: 3381 z8799 and darkenesse 6205 [was] vnder x8478 his feete. 7272

 22:11 And he rode 7392 z8799 vpon x5921 a Cherub, 3742 and did flie: 5774 z8799 and hee was seene 7200 z8735 vpon x5921 the wings 3671 of the winde. 7307

 22:12 And hee made 7896 z8799 darkenesse 2822 pauilions 5521 round about 5439 him, darke 2841 waters, 4325 [and] thicke clouds 5645 of the skies. 7834

 22:13 Through the brightnesse 5051 x4480 before x5048 him, were coales 1513 of fire 784 kindled. 1197 z8804

 22:14 The LORD 3068 thundred 7481 z8686 from x4480 heauen: 8064 and the most high 5945 vttered 5414 z8799 his voice. 6963

 22:15 And he sent out 7971 z8799 arrowes, 2671 and scattered 6327 z8686 them; lightning, 1300 and discomfited 2000 z8799 them.

 22:16 And the channels 650 of the Sea 3220 appeared, 7200 z8735 the foundations 4146 of the world 8398 were discouered, 1540 z8735 at the rebuking 1606 of the LORD, 3068 at the blast 5397 x4480 of the breath 7307 of his nostrils. 639

 22:17 He sent 7971 z8799 from aboue, 4791 x4480 he tooke 3947 z8799 me: he drew 4871 z8686 me out of many y7227 waters. 4325 x4480 x7227

 22:18 He deliuered 5337 z8686 me from my strong y5794 enemy, 341 z8802 x4480 x5794 [and] from them that hated 8130 z8802 x4480 mee: for x3588 they were too strong 553 z8804 for x4480 me.

 22:19 They preuented 6923 z8762 me in the day 3117 of my calamitie: 343 but the LORD 3068 was x1961 my stay. 4937

 22:20 Hee brought me forth 3318 z8686 also into a large place: 4800 x853 he deliuered 2502 z8762 me, because x3588 hee delighted 2654 z8804 in me.

 22:21 The LORD 3068 rewarded 1580 z8799 mee according to my righteousnesse: 6666 according to the cleannesse 1252 of my hands, 3027 hath hee recompensed 7725 z8686 me.

 22:22 For x3588 I haue kept 8104 z8804 the wayes 1870 of the LORD, 3068 and haue not x3808 wickedly x7561 departed y7561 z8804 from my God. 430 x4480

 22:23 For x3588 all x3605 his iudgements 4941 [were] before x5048 me: and as for his Statutes, 2708 I did not x3808 depart 5493 z8799 from x4480 them.

 22:24 I was x1961 also vpright 8549 before him: and haue kept y8104 z8691 my selfe x8104 from mine iniquitie. 5771 x4480

 22:25 Therefore the LORD 3068 hath recompensed 7725 z8686 me, according to my righteousnesse: 6666 according to my cleannesse 1252 in x5048 his eye sight. 5869 y5048

 22:26 With x5973 the merciful 2623 thou wilt shew thy selfe mercifull, 2616 z8691 [and] with x5973 the vpright 8549 man 1368 thou wilt shew thy selfe vpright. 8552 z8691

 22:27 With x5973 the pure y1305 z8737 x2889 thou wilt shew thy selfe pure: 1305 z8691 and with x5973 the froward, 6141 thou wilt shew thy selfe vnsauoury. 6617 z8691

 22:28 And the afflicted 6041 people 5971 thou wilt saue: 3467 z8686 but thine eyes 5869 [are] vpon x5921 the hautie, 7311 z8802 that thou mayest bring [them] downe. 8213 z8686

 22:29 For x3588 thou x859 [art] my lampe, 5216 O LORD: 3068 and the LORD 3068 wil lighten 5050 z8686 my darkenesse. 2822

 22:30 For x3588 by thee I haue run 7323 z8799 through a troupe: 1416 by my God 430 haue I leaped x1801 ouer y1801 z8762 a wall. 7791

 22:31 As for God, 410 his way 1870 is perfect, 8549 the word 565 of the LORD 3068 is tried: 6884 z8803 he x1931 is a buckler 4043 to all x3605 them that trust 2620 z8802 in him.

 22:32 For x3588 who x4310 [is] God, 410 saue 1107 x4480 the LORD? 3068 and who x4310 [is] a rocke, 6697 saue 1107 x4480 our God? 430

 22:33 God 410 is my strength 4581 [and] power: 2428 and he maketh 5425 z8686 my way 1870 perfect. 8549

 22:34 Hee maketh 7737 z0 my feet 7272 like y7737 z8764 hindes 355 [feet]: and setteth 5975 z8686 mee vpon x5921 my high places. 1116

 22:35 He teacheth 3925 z8764 my hands 3027 to warre: 4421 so that a bow 7198 of steele 5154 is broken 5181 z8765 by mine armes. 2220

 22:36 Thou hast also giuen 5414 z8799 mee the shield 4043 of thy saluation: 3468 and thy gentlenesse 6038 y6031 z8800 z8676 hath made me great. 7235 z8686

 22:37 Thou hast enlarged 7337 z8686 my steps 6806 vnder x8478 me: so that my feet 7166 did not x3808 slip. 4571 z8804

 22:38 I haue pursued 7291 z8799 mine enemies, 341 z8802 and destroyed 8045 z8686 them: and turned not againe 7725 z8799 x3808 vntill x5704 I had consumed 3615 z8763 them.

 22:39 And I haue consumed 3615 z8762 them and wounded 4272 z8799 them, that they could not x3808 arise: 6965 z8799 yea, they are fallen 5307 z8799 vnder x8478 my feet. 7272

 22:40 For thou hast girded 247 z8762 mee with strength 2428 to battel: 4421 them that rose vp 6965 z8801 against me, hast thou subdued 3766 z8686 vnder x8478 me.

 22:41 Thou hast also giuen 5414 z8804 mee the necks 6203 of mine enemies, 341 z8802 that I might destroy 6789 z8686 them that hate 8130 z8764 me.

 22:42 They looked, 8159 z8799 but there was none x369 to saue: 3467 z8688 [euen] vnto x413 the LORD, 3068 but he answered 6030 z8804 them not. x3808

 22:43 Then did I beat 7833 z8799 them as small as the dust 6083 of the earth: 776 I did stampe 1854 z8686 them as the myre 2916 of the street, 2351 [and] did spread them abroad. 7554 z8799

 22:44 Thou also hast deliuered 6403 z8762 mee from the striuings 7379 x4480 of my people, 5971 thou hast kept 8104 z8799 mee [to be] head 7218 of the heathen: 1471 a people 5971 which I knew 3045 z8804 not, x3808 shall serue 5647 z8799 me.

 22:45 Strangers 1121 5236 shall submit y3584 z8691 themselues x3584 vnto me: as soone as they heare, 8085 241 z8800 they shall be obedient 8085 z8735 vnto me.

 22:46 Strangers 1121 5236 shall fade away: 5034 z8799 and they shall bee afraid 2296 z8799 out of their close places. 4526 x4480

 22:47 The LORD 3068 liueth, 2416 and blessed 1288 z8803 [be] my rocke: 6697 and exalted 7311 z8799 be the God 430 of the rocke 6697 of my saluation. 3468

 22:48 It [is] God 410 that auengeth 5414 5360 z8802 mee, and [that] bringeth downe y3381 z8688 x8213 the people 5971 vnder x8478 me:

 22:49 And that bringeth me forth 3318 z8688 from mine enemies: 341 z8802 x4480 thou also hast lifted mee vp on high 7311 z8787 aboue them that rose vp 6965 z8801 x4480 against me: thou hast deliuered 5337 z8686 me from the violent y2555 man. 376 x4480 x2555

 22:50 Therefore x5921 x3651 I will giue thankes 3034 z8686 vnto thee, O LORD, 3068 among the heathen: 1471 and I will sing praises 2167 z8762 vnto thy Name. 8034

 22:51 He is the towre 4024 z8675 y1431 z8688 of saluation 3444 for his king: 4428 and sheweth 6213 z8802 mercy 2617 to his Anointed, 4899 vnto Dauid, 1732 and to his seede 2233 for y5704 euermore. 5769 x5704
